9:00 am
>> we are back in one hour. >> "outnumbered" starts now. >> i am sandra smith. andrea tantaros, harris father, a host of kennedy, kennedy and one lucky guy, welcome back dr. keith ablow and he is "outnumbered". welcome back to the couch. >> everyone has the same question for me when i get back home. how is it? being there, sitting with them. >> how did they ask response? >> tumbling, it is humbling. >> we drive you crazy.
9:01 am
>> the question everyone asks you is am i crazy? a different question, normal or not? >> i get a lot of questions. is my husband normal? >> are we normal or are we nuts? >> so far tilting toward a normal but always -- the diagnostic process. >> let me know after the next 55 minutes. >> another day another stunner, hillary clinton's e-mail scandal according to the associated press the state department told investigators the classified material on hillary's home. server was so sensitive that this a given her lawyer to store this e-mails isn't secure enough. states installed a special state at the office of david kendall, clinton's lawyer after the government determined e-mails may have classified information. they didn't anticipate some of
9:02 am
the messages would contain top-secret information, information which they found in some of clinton's e-mails, a top-secret information the highest classification of government intelligence requires that it be kept in a highly secure facility hardened against hackers or eavesdropping and clearly we are learning today that wasn't enough. >> of course it wasn't enough and we will talk about the excuses her husband has been making for her and now every time, at those excuses are wearing so incredibly film ant people moving on to the next phase which is what was compromised? we can't know that because it is top-secret information that hackers and people with access to a server certainly shouldn't be pretty to but there could be some very jarring revelations once all of that comes out. >> what continue to shock me and maybe i shouldn't be shocked is how the state department
9:03 am
couldn't have or should have anticipated that there could possibly be top-secret e-mails. considering she was secretary of state. >> that brings up the big question. is this a colossal disaster in leadership from the top down at the state department? that they would not recognize with or work out marking which is classified and what is not and they are in charge of our safety, they are part of that curtain of national security to protect us from the rest of the world. they decide when we can or can't travel or to contract a year, they make those important decisions every day and this is so basic and that they would miss you might want to lock the safe, maybe the state needs to be more impenetrable, they can't get the basics were really has me concerned so what is it like now? >> we're doing deals with the brand, john kerry out there, secretary of the doing deals with iran. are his secrets the? >> grade point. they got this so wrong, what
9:04 am
else is out there so we will find out about? >> almost anything. because everybody has e-mail bears it and to unseat 2 men this, what they're hoping for, this is a real national security issue. we are putting a cyberwar all the time and we can be heard as much almost with data driven work if you will as physical war. when people grass that they may understand the gravity of what has happened here. it is like letting down your defenses in any other way and that is what the secretary of state did so she can't leave. >> the secretary of state, hillary clinton maintains at that time she was doing nothing wrong. >> this is bigger than the state department. how can the state department allowed this? how can the administration allow it? let's look at other stores we
9:05 am
have covered on the show and in the news cycle, this is the administration that presided over a large impact of information in our government's history, millions of people compromise. is not surprising is not just hillary clinton, this is an administration wide problem. this flies in the face and everything clinton has set up to this point, she said there's nothing top-secret, it is just yoga poses and downward dogs and other things, they contradicted their former secretary of state and another point, does this even matter? who cares if her lawyer had e-mails pact could be compromised, they were compromise long ago, china has them, russia has got them, this is a non story, and -- >> not just the white house, you have to know the cia was certainly conversing with the secretary of state so why aren't
9:06 am
these organizationss who are charged with protecting our national security raising red flags, sounding alarm bells the secretary of state, the home system that is not impervious so we moved beyond can hillary get over this politically, moved past that and asked the question can we move past this as we look at the national security being compromised. >> when will we stop treating e-mail like it was created yesterday? this is not new technology between need to catch up. >> great question and that is even if the story moves on, shall we as a nation because we are risk and we talk about that every day but meantime former president bill clinton making new comments just a day after blaming republicans for the scandal. he said this. >> glad it happened in 2015 instead of 2016. i believe it will burn itself out. let the american people think about this, a few months ago still the most admired person in
9:07 am
public life because she was covered because of the work she did. >> will thus can burnout. what the thing? is this wishful thinking by the former president? >> very wishful because she wasn't the most admired person, most admired woman because of the work she did, the work she did by any measure, is not grandiose. she hasn't done a tremendous amount of things that would merit high achievement as secretary of state or senator. she is mostly admired because she struck a good pose with the president of the united states, i continue to thing most of his team came from being first lady, not from being a great senator or a great secretary of state. that is disingenuous on bill clinton's par. >> when you press liberals and democrats they really can't come up with an accomplishment she made but the isn't it depends whether clinton is right, bill
9:08 am
clinton, how the fbi treats this, this could burn out, he could be right, just depends on how will the administration take this seriously? >> absolutely wright. it is not one of this to the clinton scandals, it is not the 90s, the response he has is not only inappropriate, they are not grasping the scope, voters in places like iowa and new hampshire and his excuses are wearing so thin it almost be traced the panicking clintonland. when they are trotting bill out for interview after interview and he is not getting any sort of substantial response that shows even if that he has lost the magic, or that this may be something thates is their ability to deal with. >> the best case scenario, she just wasn't up for that job. that is the message coming from her campaign and it is a pretty underwhelming message for someone who wants to highest
9:09 am
office. >> if this takes a criminal turn they will probably borrow that language to keep her out of hot water. we haven't seen that, we don't know what the fbi has gathered and the investigation, compelled by a judge to share with the state department so we are curious what they found that you mentioned the equivalent of the human-resources for the government getting tax recently and how we found out it wasn't a million or so but 6 million fingerprints were part of the hacking and the background checks exposed and all that, it is the ticktock i would imagine before hillary clinton's campaign, she was a victim of a government that doesn't know how to protect anybody. >> she was substantial part of the government and we need to be secure. this is another way we are not secure and hints at other physical realities we are insecure. >> let's assume she does, what that message. how does she, the woman who couldn't arguably do her job and
9:10 am
protect national security doesn't have one accomplishment democrats can name how can she argue she will preside over a dysfunctional administration who keeps getting hacked, she can't. >> we are talking with the issue will be able to move on from this, what choice do they have? she is still leading in the polls where the democratic ticket is concerned, i wonder if this is the parallel to her benghazi moment when she said what difference does it make, in the same interview bill clinton finished by saying what exactly does it matter? all sitting here in answer that question, sandy berger. these are people who are charged and convicted of the same thing, that she's being accused of. the fbi is so tight lipped, they build a real case here. >> the military who died fighting in libya.

9:16 am
planned parenthood denied the allegations which have prompted republicans to try to cut the group's taxpayer funding some urging a government shutdown over the issue while they review what has gone on. this is what ms. richards had to say beginning with her salary. >> compensation based on tax returns is $590,000, correct? >> that is not my annual compensation pmi annual compensation is $520,000 a year. the chairman said earlier that is nearly $14,000 a day. what is that money being spent on? >> objection to the chairman beating up on a woman on our witness today from making a good salary. >> of the videos with seductively edited, if this was entrapment, if this was untrue then why did you apologize? >> everyone has agreed they were heavily edited. >> seems to me the apology you

9:21 am
you brought up the videos, our anchor on capitol hill confirmed this a short time ago, forensic analysis has confirmed planned parenthood and, under cover videos, were not manipulated. your thoughts? >> my thoughts are showing that seems a little dramatic. because we have laws, we should do what you are outlining, see where they were broken, we should prosecute, look at everything else that could apply. shutting down the government i don't know that that will achieve that. >> not unless you defund a whole bunch of the the things. if you're going to defund the department of education, department of commerce and many other organizations that duplicates or worthless i don't have a problem with that but cherry picking moralistic lee point blank planned parenthood there are better venues for that isn't shutting down the government and republicans know they're shooting themselves in the footage that is -- >> what do you say to voters to say they want lawmakers to
