sitting in a jail, i tweeted out jail? really? hillary some classified information? great analogy. >> that was hillary. >> i thought that was bob barker standing there on the stavenlg. >> all right. leslie, we're not trying to beat up on you here. you're a friend. but, obama will accumulate more debt than any other president combined. that is $20 trillion if debt. we have $120 trillion in unfunded liabilities. we're going to have free college, family leave paid for. health care, health care for children should be free. we're going to expand social security. childhood education. a new, new deal hillary said. then we're going to expand the cost and payments for medicare and social security. expand it for the poor. in state college tuition for illegals and undocuments workers they get obamacare subsidy.

how are you going to pay for that? >> not in that order. first of all, you know this is a debate, obviousry for people like me. and not for you guys. >> it's not- >> no. no. >> this is a primary debate, preaching to the choir. democrats are very left of center. >> how will you possibly, wait a minute. how will the country that has ten, now $20 trillion in debt, pay for he this social welfare they've laid out? free college for undocumented immigrants? free health care? free everything? how are you going to pay for that? >> one of the things you have to as republicans give hillary credit for is that she gave power to the states. >> how are the states?

>> i'm not running for office, sean. i am not running for office. the plan hillary set forth as well as bernie with regard to free college with hillary clinton's man outlined a bit of tonight she talked about a reduction in interest rates for those borrowing then -- >> more money, more taxpayer dollars. >> going to get college to pay for it? >> that is not unlike a democratic proposal. >> class warfare discussion of income inequality. i want to remind my audience the top 1% of wage earners in america pay over 50% of the the taxes. bottom 50% pay 0. federal income tax. if you look into this, bottom 50% pay nothing. listen. >> the middle class of the country for the last 40 years has been disappearing. millions of americans are

working longer hours for low wages, yet, almost all of the new income and wealth being created is going to the top 1%. >> so that companies share profits with the workers who helped make them. then we have to figure out how we're going to make the tax system a fairer one. right now, wealthy pay too little. >> close the gap between haves and have-nots. >> what are they going to do? confiscate peoples wealth? >> it is classic central planning. this is what leftists around the world do. it's the kind of planning that destroys countries, go check out cuba. check out venezuela. there is a reason it's the former soviet union. things are changing around the world. liberals are trying to save their own countries in the european union what. we've seen here in this debate, and leslie

>> they're going to let you spe speak? >> they're going to be ten times as many he -- people watching. >> bernie sanders. >> you have ten times as many candidates. that is why. >> we're going to turn the states around because we have answers. did you notice that the former secretary of state could not talk about libya? could not talk about syria? about russia. do not talk about china. could not talk about the arab spring. could not talk about isis. she wanted to talk about the record that is undefensible. >> we were not watching the same debate. i saw her speak about china, clearly speak about -- i -- frankly that is where she gained a lot of points. senator sanders surprise immediate with some of the foreign policy talk. i think she showed her

you have president obama suggesting this is a legitimate issue and hillary clinton will have to answer for with the american electorate. what the president is pointing at is look, in the short term, hillary clinton got a boost because we're talking about the democratic primary. the democratic nomination. when you have bernie sanders giving her a wet kiss, a hug, throw his arms around her, and say i'm tired of this e-mail issue, let's move on and the crowd roars that is good for her in this phase. i talked to a chief pollster and they're thinking her poll numbers are stabilizing and there is a floor developing for her. for a while it was almost a free fall in terms of poll numbers and drip, drip of scandal.

and take a look at how she tried to turn the corner here by using the mccarthy comments to brush away her upcoming testimony. not just about the debate she's going before the benghazi committee. here is how she tried to turn a weakness into a strength. watch. >> this committee is basically an arm of the republican national committee. it is a partisan vehicle as admitted by the house republican majority leader mr. mccarthy, to drive down my poll numbers. surprise. >> my point is that tonight she was speaking to the democrats in that room, and the democ an fbi investigation looming, blaming this on mccarthy, talking about the benghazi committee may not

be enough for her. final point is that she continued to move left on keystone and defending herself on trait tonight. again, that may help her, stabilize numbers and lock up the democratic nomination but could be moving her so far left, that it makes it harder for her in a general election both on the trust issue and the e-mail and policy issues. she's moved pretty far left, sean. >> part of the exchange we didn't air, she admitted it's a legitimate investigation because of the fbi and inspector general. they talk about a bottom in poll numbers she dropped ten points in a week. 40 paints in the stay of virginia. how much lower can anyone go? >> well, that is a fair question, but i point out, look what she's running against. if she had stronger competition, maybe all of a sudden those numbers would suggest she's going down hill, fast, but one,

yes. bernie sanders is doing well in new hampshire. and iowa. in super tuesday southern states, clinton camp thinks they'll clean up there. my point is that in this field, compared to the republican field where you have more competition, a lot more competition there, it's just her against bernie sanders and whether vice president biden will get in, i was talking to dan pffier. is it an opening for him or not? >> joining us with more, doug

welcome back to "hannity". joining us now is former governor of the great state of rhode island where i lived five years, lincoln chafee. you're the first democratic candidate to come on my show. thank you very much. >> for a rhode islander, of course. >> warren is a good town, too. >> let me ask you. what you said about the economy. can you give me a grade for barack obama on the economy? >> considering what he inherited he's got to have an a. i mean the polls crashed the

economy. rhode island was one of the worst in the country. rhode island and nevada got hit hardest on the chin. president obama turned it around. we're seeing slow growth in the right direction. >> governor, look. i think you should review it. since obama has been president seven years, we now have literally 46 million americans on food stamps. 50 million americans in poverty. 95 million americans out of the labor force. the lowest race since the 70s, median income down merely $5,000. health care costs this year going up nearly 40% across the board. what part of -- and will have doubled the debt. how is that good? >> well, first let's go back. i was a republican. i left the party because they

abandoned fiscal responsibility. tax cuts we couldn't afford. a prescription drug benefit we couldn't afford. earmarks we couldn't afford. >> i understand. >> republican senate, republican house broke the bank. >> i agree with some of but since obama has been president, he will accumulate more debt than every other president before him, combined. he's the president. the buck stops with him, right? >> getting people back to work, we had one of the best years for unemployment so that is a positive thing. >> 95 million americans out of the labor force? >> it's slow but better than what it was, for sure. it was bad. >> we heard a lot about the 1%

this is not a quiz. do you know what percentage of federal income tax the 1% pays? >> it's high. >> top 10% pay about 80%. bottom 50%, what percentage of the federal income tax bill do you think they pay? >> yeah. but the point is -- the wealthiest are still doing just fine. they're doing just fine. the 1% are doing fine. >> okay. so the question -- >> it's in the wealthy's best interest to have a strong middle class. >> i started out my adult life with no money. i lived in rhode island i had 0, $200 in the old stone bank. and i had bank statements to prove it. so, tell me, out of every --. >> i know what that is like, too. >> out of every dollar a rich person makes what percent do you

think is fair should go state government? property taxes? income taxes? sales taxes? what point do you say enough is enough? is it $0.50 out of every dollar? $0.80 out of every dollar? give me a number. >> you've gone all over the range, including sales tax and everything in there. you look at other countries and what they do, and the strength of their middle class that, is what you want in any community. >> when all is said and done, how much should a rich person be allowed to keep? >> what is the definition of a rich person? >> well, top, say top 5% of wage earners. >> okay. so we're talking about over $500,000? >> yes. >> no. >> probably over 200,00$200,000. it depends. so maybe 60%. >> they should be able to keep

$0.40 out of every dollar? >> we have to pin this down closer. my tax proposal for those making over $750,000 will pay 45%. that is my proposal. >> they'll have property taxes and ends up being $0.75 goes to government. do you think that is fair? >> well, not every state has income tax. >> all right. new york does. 9.9%. >> yes. have you to add that to the 45%, then. >> then 55, so property taxes. >> $0.40 out of every dollar. hang on. wait a minute. just be clear. that is over $750,000. hang on. i'll give it to you. >> give it to the government. hand it over. why should i work? okay. >> governor? appreciate you being on. >> thank you. >> appreciate it. >> thank you.
