other candidates and let's talk about a different type of format. >> did the rnc just attempt to get ahead of them? the committee has pulled out of the upcoming nbc debate pulled for february 26th. in a letter to the chairman, chairman reince priebus writes, the cnbc debate was conducted in bad faith. we need to ensure there is not a repeat performance. nbc responded with a statement calling it a disappointing development. however, along with our debate broadcast partners at telemundo, we will work in good faith to resolve this matter with the republican party. the moderators on wednesday night were widely criticized for their outrageous line of questioning. >> it was outrageous. >> yeah, it was outrageous, but this has been a pretty rapid turn of events, because what you have is outrage immediately on social media, you have all the candidates coming out, talking, afterwards, from the debate saying they didn't feel they were treated properly, it wasn't

about the economy, what's going on in the country, and instead, you didn't see any probing, pertinent questions in that regard. then you have the rnc taking a lot of heat and flack from the candidates who feel they didn't support them, they properly vet this debate or the moderators and the line of questioning. this is the fallout and the spin. >> i think that, first of all, nbc is not yet out of that february debate. they say they have suspended the debate. they haven't said they canceled the debate. they also, nbc, cleverly pulls in telemundo, because, remember, this debate will be held in houston, right in the heart of hispanic america. and it is inconceivable to me that the rnc or republican candidates will refuse to debate when one of the key issues in the entire race, immigration, impacts so profoundly the population that i'm describing. so i think that they will come to some compromise. but i totally agree that the questioning was outrageously

biased. i think that the first question should have been the opening remarks, that was agreed, instead, they asked, what was the lamest thing that ever happened to you or -- >> biggest weakness. >> biggest weakness. >> now you have conservative latina groups coming out to support nbc because of the connection to telemundo. everybody's kind of doing a little bit of taking sides. >> so there are a bunch of republican debates and to reince priebus' credit, he spread them around. cnn got some, fox got some, some business networks got some, nbc, mainstream media got them. look at the dnc side. there's six debates. where's the fox debate? there's a cnn debate. there's a pbs debate? there's a univision debate. there's no fox debate. on the dnc side, they said, fox isn't going to get one of our debates, but on the republican side, they say, we'll let everyone see it. all the audiences will see it. i think it was a good idea. however, understanding that they can still put some restrictions,

even though cnbc said, we're going to focus on the economy, debt, things like that, forced them to say, are you sure you're going to do it? not asking what their questions are or force them to ask a specific thing, but force them in a corner and say, this is the area when we're going to. and when they fail to do, you're going to punish them. i do agree with geraldo. i think there will be an nbc debate on february 26th. this is the rnc's way of talking about, hey, enough of this crap. by the way, the next time you do this, there's no more debates for your network. >> they have to take a stand. >> i think it's not too much to ask to vet these moderators. i've seen more debates than i can possibly remember in my lifetime. this debate will be studied in political science classes of what exactly not to do and how you bring your personal biases and your personal politics into a presidential debate. i completely agree with reince priebus, until everybody else can have a fair debate and not bring in their liberal media

bias and these candidates, i was trying to think if my father were up there, i would have stormed the stage. it was so disrespectful and so rude and so biased. there have to be some ground rules. >> there have to be some repercussi repercussions. can you imagine if this were the democratic debate and you have hillary clinton, the outrage, saying, this is sexist, it's inappropriate, it'ses a war on women, you're not taking us seriously. instead, because it's republicans, they act like, oh, this is a joke and they're making a mockery of it. >> reince did this once before, threatened cnn because of their hillary clinton documentary. in this case, it's reince and repeat. but, anyway, this is nuts. who does this debacle benefit most? why do the candidates want this to stop? that debate benefited the candidate, because there's nothing better than going after the media. it united the candidates. they got together -- >> but -- >> i don't care about that. i care about the candidate. if you're going to be david and

goliath, you want to be david and the candidates were placed in that position where the media became goliath. meanwhile, cnbc, the debate is like dog poop on their shoe they can't scrape off. they were smeared with it. i think, if you get a biased panel -- >> that's a vivid metaphor. >> thank you very much. i have more of them in my vivid metaphor booklet. but if you get in a position you're david and goliath with the media, embrace it. america loves it. >> also gave the ones that aren't donald trump or ben carson another goliath. >> right. exactly. >> that was going to give them more talking points. >> yes. >> so if you look, the ones that had the biggest problems with it were the leaders. the ones that had the least amount of problems with the cnbc debate were the ones that got to stand up. >> ted cruz was outstanding and i don't even like the guy. i thought he was the sharpest in the way he rephrased it, repeated the four silly questions that proceeded his.
