recording. both british and u.s. officials have said intelligence suggests a bomb may have brought it down. these revelations are sparking changes in security. how safe is it to fly? joining us, a former nas official joins us with the latest. first the obvious question, are you convinces of the likelihood this was a terrorist act? >> it sounds more likely than not. there's only a certain number of explanations for why a plane would blow up, obviously. and the investigators have to rule out all of the different options. and the more they find out, the forensics will help and obviously the intelligence that's being collected. it sounds more likely than not given what has been stated so far. >> we would assume/hope that security in the united states would respond to this in ways that we're not seeing. has it? >> there's a number of things

that have taken place in the last week. and what passengers may see at one of the 450 airports here in the u.s. is stepped up armed law enforcement officers doing random patrols around check points and other places. they may see k9 units or bomb sniffing dogs, and then passengers may experience more swapping of hands and accessible property for explosives, trace detection is what it's called. those are some of the things that may be seen. and perhaps more of checked bag. every bag goes through automated sensors if you will for explosives. there may be stepped up efforts on that regard which passengers would not see. >> we've heard reports that passengers at the sharm el-sheikh airport were able to pay an extra fee to by pass security. >> it's clearly one of the avenues that the investigators are looking at.

unfortunately that is a possibility. perhaps somebody taking a bribe, if you will. i've heard for as low as 10 euros, maybe $15, that somebody would take that and of course not knowing that what is being facilitated is an actual explosive device. they may think they're allowing somebody to be extradited. that's one of the things that investigators have to look at. one of the challenges is investigators have to look at this. >> are you satisfied that the u.s. government adds kwatly vets his airport workers and should american air travelers be concerned? >> so the u.s., 450 airports here, goes through a fairly rigorous vetting process with the airport authorities that run the airports and then the airlines who hire the employees. and so it's a terrorist watch

rubio later paid american express and the party for each of those personal expenses, as he did for all of his personal expenses. that hasn't stopped his oppon t opponents from attacking him over the finances, particularly donald trump. ed to here is the senior strategist for rubio's campaign gave this statement. these statements are more than 10 years old and the only people who ask about it are the liberal media. we're releasing them now because marco has nothing to hide. rubio fired back at trump this week over those attacks saying this. >> i just, i find it ironic that the only person running for president that's ever declared a bankruptcy fur tooims in the last ten years is attacking anyone on et iks. >> he's pointing to a commissions report as well as an audit by the state party that confirmed his expenses were in fact all party related.

know, he's doing pretty good. he's get that out and get it finished while he can do it. >> in all of the different stages of our lives we reflect. i can imagine at the age of 97 you're going that. as chris kmans we're called to believe that heaven and hell are real places. tell us what we'll learn from the book. >> at 97 he's getting close to stepping into eternity. he knows that. and he wants people to understand that there is a heaven, that there is a hell. there's consequence to rejecting christ. jesus christ is god's son who came from heaven to this earth to take our sins and he died in our place and god raised him to life. but if you reject god, if you reject jesus, god has no hope but to condemn you. and hell is real. he wanted people to know that. and he wanted them to know that yet god loves them and wants to

forgive them. >> and you believe we're all sinners and ask for forgivesness. an exert from the book tells us that we need to confess our sins. god is not preparing a place in heaven for unrepentant sinners. while we're contributed nothing to god's gift of free salvation, there is a condition to confessing it. we must con fez our sin, turn from it and receive christ on his terms. how important is that? >> very important. it's either heaven or hell and it's eternity forever. there's in chance once you leave this world. the bible says this clearly, that day is the day of salvat n salvation. and jesus said i'm the way, the truth and the life. no man comes to the father but by me. there are no many roads to god, not many roads to heaven. just one and it goes through the cross, through jesus christ. >> america's pastor and this brand-new book. we're excited to be celebrating his birthday. i got to get to this.

presidential candidate ben carson launching a broadside against reporters he claim are unfairly attacking him about his life story as depicted in his autobiography. >> there is a desperation on behalf of some to find a way to tarnish me because they have been looking through everything, talking to everybody i've known

or seen. there's got to be a scandal. there's got to be a nurse he's had an affair with. they are getting did he say operate. >> are the questions legitimate or are they media bias. >> we are joined live this morning for an interview. >> is it legitimate for reporters ask skeptical questions about the biography of the leading presidential candidate on the republican side? >> i think it's fair. all presidential candidates should be vetted. but i sympathy what's happening with dr. ben carson is misplaced. who cares about what happened 50 years ago, whether he got into a fight with another childhood friend. this doesn't impact any americans' lives today. it doesn't impact our national security. yet, hillary clinton combed through e-mail server that she conducted off the grid clearly exposed our country's classified secrets. that has a much greater impact.

i think the focus should be on more important matters that impacts all of us. >> i think a lot of reporters are dumb and frivolous abdomen have animus towards politicians. if hillary clinton received a full scholarship to a military academy, i'd kind of want to know if that was true or not, wouldn't you? >> yeah, i think it's okay to ask these questions. all presidential candidates on both sides of the aisle should be vetted. however, dr. ben carson clarifies a misunderstanding. he said that he was offered a scholarship by west point. not that he applied for one. he clarified that which i think is good. but with respect to hillary clinton, why is left wing media giving her a pass on not only the home brew, home server operation that she conducted but also are they putting her book and fact checking her latest book for -- are they

scrutinizing that with the same level of intensity as dr. ben carson. i think there needs to be fair vetting of all candidates. >> that's certainly true with the current president. isn't that part of the point. republicans have made what i think is a valid case that barack obama was never really vetted by the press in the way that most candidates are and that the results have been bad for america. so isn't it in the interest of everybody, all citizens, everybody running for president gets a forensic rundown from the media? it's the whole point of having a media? >> exactly. with the latest benghazi hearings, hillary clinton was caught red handed lying to the american people. there was hard evidence presented in the e-mails that she sent to her daughter and to the prime minister of egypt saying that the attack on our consulate that killed four men, including our ambassador was not caused by a video, it was done by terrorists. yet the media gave her a pass. when it comes to vetting the honesty of candidates, shouldn't they hold hillary clinton

accountable to those boldface lies? >> of course, i agree with you competely. do you think it's interesting that the carson campaign has been able to raise all this money 3rks$.5 million in the last week, basically against the press. do you think it's possible in the end, three months from now, we'll see this is a good thing for ben carson rather than a bad one? >> you're absolutely right. i mean, he has turned crisis into an opportunity. a lot of conservatives know that there's a vast media bias that exists and they push back on it. just this week, dr. ben carson tweeted that he's had 10,000 donors give him $3.5 million to his campaign as a response that they're not happy that he's being targeted unfairly and then after the last cnbc debate, both ted cruz and senator rubio saw a spike in fundraising after they pushed back against media bias. americans are fed up.

pantry. >> do you have to worry about preservatives for it to stay that long. >> the things that we have to worry about. the things with dairy in it, a protein protein or a fat in it. fat will spoil when it's exposed to air. so dry products, like cereals, crackers, pasta, dried beans, canned beans, those can last for years on the shelf. i want people to know you can open them up, even for example tuna can last for 2 to 5 years, same thing with beans. again, you're looking at like cereal or crackers, they may not taste good that far out. >> with the beans or the tuna, if there's any rusting or any leakage -- >> you can buy a packet so there won't be any rusting on a can. that's what i think is great about it. >> one more thing about the dried kale. >> don't you love that? >> is this healthy out of the

like this. i'm not in the restaurant business but shocked parents would let their kids behave like this. is it common and getting more common in your experience? >> i would say it's becoming more common. the cards really is intended for the parents, not the kids. we are seeing more of it. >> and do you think this is going to improve the behavior of the children and if it doesn't would you consider you know, banning kids and making it an adult only restaurant? is that possible? >> it's definitely improved since we put the cards out and no, we don't want to ban children. our restaurant is -- offers mexico city cuisine and children are a big part of the culture in mexico so the last thing we want to do is ban the children. we want to welcome the children. we ask them to be respectful. >> anna, have you had any pushback? parents said what is this? why are you lecturing me? >> we've had very, very little pushback. the majority of parents have

you know, the whole thing with the hispanics is totally overblown. very, very few people showed up last night. and they were gone before the show even started. you know why? you know what happened? they went home to watch the show. so that's what happened. i mean they were all gone before the show started which was nice, actually. >> so the news towards the end was dominated by ben carson and his biography and a couple different news organizations tracking down people who knew him in his youth and you had this kind of weird scenario, ben carson trying to convince the media he did, in fact, stab someone and go after his mother with a hammer. no other candidates in the race criticized him except you. why are you the only one criticizing ben carson? >> it's not criticizing. look he's got to do his thing. it's the first time in the history, in fact sort of -- they wanted to do a skit on it and i said let's not do that. it's not appropriate. but this is the first time in history where you want to prove that you hit your mother with a hammer, you want to prove you hit a friend in the face with a lock, you want to prove you

say that matters it's what people hear. we have to be careful in how we read the polls and then pollsters are looking for ways to change because you might say in theory i agree with something, but there's so many words laden with baggage like gun control, like welfare. go through the things and you might have sudden images in your head of what the things mean. >> it can twist the debate as well. walk through some of the examples, different code words. 68% of people feel like we spend too little on assistance for the poor, but when you ask them about welfare, 42% feel we spend too little on welfare. explain that. >>well fare is one of the terms laden with baggage. say welfare, people hear something totally different. talk about assistance to the poor that's something that will tug on your heart strings and have a totally different image. they mean the same thing, you can have a different result. >> what about environmental issues. this is big. the president rejected the keystone pipeline. talk about that. >> if you talk about relaxing environmental standards, for

example, those are real, real big buzzwords i'm looking here, 40% of folks would support relaxing environmental standards, but 67% would say that we should relax government regulations. >> right. >> same thing. change the word from environmental to government, and you have a totally different outcome. >> what about an example of positive versus negative framing of these questions? for example, 51% of folks would vote to personalize social security. 34% would vote for privatizing because democrats when president bush brought it up turned privatizing social security into a dirty phrase. >> absolutely. privatizing to one thing is all about the institution. personalizing is all about me. and so i'm going to have a totally different feeling, a totally different answer when you talk about personalizing versus privatizing. >> the last one, we don't have a picture of it but i wanted to go through, i've been out on the campaign trail with hillary clinton as you know and she likes to talk about not gun control but wants more gun safety measures. who's against safety, right?
