are going to deport 11 million people all at once kasich stood up and said that's not economically feasible. even if you supported that there's no way you can do it. we are not structured to. the economic impact would be a terrible disaster. >> i like the point when it talks about the people that have attempted to i am great here legally and how it isn't fair to them. i agree with that point. >> overall winner. >> i know it isn't popular but i think john kasich is next to rubio the biggest threat with the democratic party. despite the fact that he didn't poll well he stands for issues and can get into the details. everybody else was rehearsed. >> you think he has best chance against democrats because he's most in line with him on a lot of ideas. >> maybe and he is from ohio. >> i think marco rubio is hitting hid stride at every debate he has been there and good.

first. first and foremost who was the winner? >> overall fox business was the winner because it was a substantive debate on economic issues and combat was left to the candidates. the winner candidate wise marco rubio. >> why? >> because he was the only candidate who shifted away from focusing on obama's policies that have actually added so many jobs to the economy is since the recession. he name dropped candy crush as important thing in the economy. i thought that was an understanding that has not been brought to the conversations with the republican candidates about this new economy. >> michael? >> i thought rubio won on the economy because he actually appealed to the base in a very important way that it recognized that he sees people working as most people working but not getting ahead. that's something that everyone in the united states, not just the conservatives who were part of this republican base can

agree with but allowed a lot of those buzz words important to the conservatives like for example, balance the budget. so ultimately he got all of the right buzz words in. he did very, very eloquent and was able to speak to the issues that are important to most people but also to the banks. >> loser? >> loser? ben carson. >> ben carson. it was the moment when he literally talked about 19d 13 home solution i have had like, what? >> ben car nson not inspiration. >> john kasich was the loser. he had what would appeal to a moderate mainstream electorate. he was nearly booed off the stage suggesting he would bail out bank of america if it was nets to save the people whose deposits were on the line. ultimately it did not appeal to

the particular base for the republican primary season. >> let's move to immigration. immigration topic. who do you think won that? >> i would say that ted cruz won it. he was able to take the man tell from donald trump and tap into the base their position on immigration right now. i think he did it interestingly by shifting it into an economic issue and talked about what if it was journalists coming across the border it would be a different conversation. you miss the fact that the con trib baugss to the gdp that undocumented immigrants have right now. that's the real issue. >> i was shocked to see that trump lost on immigration, he made the point that he wanted to deport 11 million people and it didn't hit well. built a wall made sense, but perhaps the deportation of 11 million people got hard push back.

the push back is what got the applause. >> we don't have time for commentary but over all winner and loser. >> the overal winner was mark yo rubio his star is rising, he got really good lines in there. overall loser tie between these guys trump and carson. they faded out. they were the frontrunners they didn't need to do anything maybe they felt. >> marco rubio hit the button. bush and kasich didn't appeal to the base. >> we will see what the voters have to say today. i am sure there will be a lot of opinions. lia? >> the time is now 39 minutes after the hour. the question, is our country doing noenough to help our hero? we have the fix that would make life easier for those who serve. mo americans say the economy is the most important issue. we have the jobs, the highest earning potential right now.

it raises the question can you be a conservative if you spend so much money on the military. let's ask former navy seal co founder of "echelon front." first off when you and i were in commission in 1990. 98 the world was in peace. when i left the military we were in two wars and you were fighting them. the world is most unstable than it has been in our lifetime. how do you balance that money verses growing the military. >> we have to take care of our military. >> it was a great answer marco rubio gave to rand falpaul. we have to keep our military strong or it's going to cost us a lot more money and a lot more lives. >> a lot of people concerned about terrorism. there's growing evidence the bomb took down that russian jet.

who would you say had the best strategy to bring down isis and who would be the best commander-in-chief. >> i liked what he said. marco rubio gave strong support there. i think what rand paul is saying with donald trump as well, it's very concerning that they're not going to get it done. they're basically going to lean on the obama strategy which has been disastrous for us. for those of us who fought this enemy, they call it the islamic state. they're coming for us. the russian airliner is a great example if we don't do something about them today, they're going to come after us. it is veterans' day. happy veterans' day to you. >> to you too. >> both of us have seen our friends who served with us come back with wounds that are better seen than unseen. governor huckabee had something

to say about them in the early debates. less than 1% of americans go to the military for service. we're fighting wars with other people's kids in large measure because we have not taken seriously the moral, not the monetary, the moral obligation to take care of the veterans and to keep america's promise to the ones who kept their promise to america. >> what's your response to that? >> well, i think governor huckabee is right there. we've got to do a better job of taking care of veterans. it starts with dismantling the incredible bureaucracy infested at the v.a. and fixing that organization so they can actually treat veterans and take care of veterans. >> what are you hearing about the v.a. and what the problems are now that need to be fixed? what are your friends saying, people that you served with? >> i think it's a matter of trying to stumble through red tape and waiting. i think those are the big issues

well, a lot of talk in the debate about the economy. but most of the americans with still concerned about their salaries. the national average wage index shows that median salaries have

gradually increased since 2008. but which jobs earn the most wages? those that pay off, those that don't. joining us now is senior writer for opportunity, liz kerry sheffield. thanks for joining us. it was a long night. >> it was. in it for the long haul. >> tell us about the best jobs for the voters at home. >> some of hottest areas that we're seeing is health care, technology and energy. health care, we see the -- there's going to be a lot of need for the jobs to fill, caring for them, home care, nursing, et cetera. then in technology, i mean that's where we see so much growth in terms of venture capital, backing firms taking off. whether it's the next uber, that's where the payoffs are. we have fracking in terms of energy, shale, the huge boom that has made america less dependent on the middle east. which is excellent in terms of national security. these are three hot areas.

>> it was interesting that one of the topics that marco rubio touched on. he said especially vocational training. he said that is important. he said that more welders, less philosophers was another talking point that he had. >> you know, in this country, we have credit card debt has been surpassed by student debt. more than a trillion dollars outstanding in student debt. a lot of people are feeling crushed under this. we need to think about alternatives. marco rubio has been talking about that. it doesn't make sense to go into debt for an english degree from an ivy league school that you won't use those. >> which are the most useful in terms of getting a job once you graduate. >> right, right. connecting what you're studying theoretically to the marketplace is very important. i think the stem, science, technology, engineering and math are critical in terms of getting a payoff. rois, return on investment. english, liberal, arts, art

history, a lot of these things you don't necessarily need this deep technical training. you might want to rethink why you're going into debt for this. in fact, this was an interesting book by scholars, manhattan institute talking about we need to think about college as an investment and too many kids today are thinking about it as a consumption. like a luxury good, i'm going to party for four years, go to spring break, fraternity parties. they're going into debt to have experiences when they should be thinking it's an investment of my time and money. >> we have 30 seconds left. what is the most important thing you heard from the candidates? >> focusing on growth and talking about inequality. the overall take away is that growth is how you help resolve inequality and not the other way around. which the democrats want to use government an exacerbate inequalities, which is an
