universe pageant and we will bring that to you. jenna: we will see you back here in an hour. jon: "outnumbered" starts now. >> this is "outnumbered." i am andrea tantaros. here with us today is harris faulkner, katie pav lich, and today's #oneluckyguy fox news contributor and republican operative tony sayegh. you are outnumbered. >> you went from stategist to operative. >> operative means you get into the grassroots. >> a big battle between donald trump and hillary clinton. after hillary said this about the republican frontrunner on the topic of muslim relations at the democratic debate on saturday night.
9:01 am
listen: >> we also need to make sure that the really discriminitory comments donald trump is making aren't spread around the world. he is becoming isis best recruiter. they are going around showing videos of trump to recruit more jihadist. >> there is no evidence of isis using trump videos as a recruitment tool and trump isn't having it. >> it is non-sense. just another hillary lie. she lies like crazy whether it is trips where she was being gunned down in a helicopter. she is a liar and everybody knows that. she made it up in thin air. >> now it falls to clinton communication chief to try to walk back her boss' remarks.
9:02 am
>> what secretary clinton was saying was one of the many dangerous rhetorics are being used and this is something the international group who monitors social media on isis has said. they said he is being used in social media by isis as propaganda. she doesn't have a particular video in mind but he is beingus. >> that is a tough job. it is clear hillary clintealth t there and lied and blamed a video that didn't exist. >> it was a fabricated story back when benghazi happened but the thing that is incredible to
9:03 am
me is this the democratic line since suspending the syrian refuge program. if you are a republican presidential candidate and you said that and had 47 democrats in congress agreeing you are the best recruitment for isis. trump goes further and hillary clinton uses the same line president obama used. the best recruitment tool for isis is an american president without the strategy or will to defeat them. this is a religiously driven group that believes in their mission. the only way you disspepel them their thoughts is beating them. >> hillary clinton is the one that ousted for the leader in libya and we know what happened after that where isis took control and uses that country as a launching pad for attacks. we saw them doing swan dives on the consulate there. she powered and assisted isis as
9:04 am
actually. >> we will get more into why she is happy where we are in a minute. but the person who is an extremist expert and the associated press said they don't see any evidence of what she is talking with donald trump. this is one of those things she will probably have to prove it or say something. paychecks have better not stopped coming for the chief because she is taking it. that is not the voice the american public wants to hear this from. these are really strong words at a time when the vicious savages want to kill anybody who lives the way we do. she needs evidence on this one. if she doesn't have it, i think she better step up to the plate and say sorry. >> she did downplay isis at the debate. we know she lied consistently and has a credibility problem.
9:05 am
her numbers are not where they should be. how does this affect her campaign? >> carly fiorina has been calling hillary clinton a liar for months now. when she said it a couple months ago it was a huge deal she got creamed for in the press but it is true, hillary clinton is liar. do you remember when hillary clinton said her enemies were republicans? she didn't say isis. she is making it more clear that republicans are her main focus and her enemy. she is blaming donald trump and the process as a whole for isis recruitment rather than pointing out the threat and talking about it in a bipartisan fashion. this is an issue that isn't left and right but an issue from a general election. >> we know, too, she doesn't listen to the general. maybe her friend sidney blumenthal gave us the information used on the video and other sources. but cat, this is a woman we have
9:06 am
seen, that is not only incompetent because she could not protect our embassy, but leading up to this ignored multiple request from her friend for additional security. she wasn't able to do her job and incomptent at best. we didn't show up that night. the blood of four americans is on her hands and she went and covered it up and blamed it on a video and allocated millions to pakistan to take out apology ads based on a lie. she is a liar who is incompetent. >> the debates are on friday and saturday because she says bizarre things. remember when she said wall street failed because of 9/11? i can they do whatever they can to make sure she has the least amount of scrutiny because there is so many skeletons in the closet. >> you look at something like this and you see she is being
9:07 am
called out by the new york city times and others and you wonder how much longer can the clinton lying machine going on and when does it end? >> donald trump has a way of defending himself. if you were giving her advice, to tony, i would imagine you saying we have to walk that back. the hits keep coming from the weekend democratic debate. here is what hillary clinton said about the progress of the u.s. fight against isis: >> we now finally are where we need to be. we have a strategy and a commitment to go after isis which is a danger to us as well as the region. >> many of the republican candidates pounced on this comment saying they made the former secretary of state appear out of touch. >> with dead bodies in paris, dead bodies in san bernardino, and no plan from this administration how to deal with
9:08 am
it we are where we need to be? ms. clinton is misses happy talk. >> how are the american people supposed to feel when they feel vulnerable and you have a president and leading contender for the democratic party saying everything is great. they live in two different universes. >> incredible. a resolution about syria buts us where we need to be? it is a reflection of the president and hillary clinton that our foreign pop policy is said by others. we are not where we need to be. >> if you didn't get it there maybe you will get it here. a new fox poll indicates americans say we are not where we need to be in talking out the isl islamic state saverages. just 33% of approve the handling of the fight.
9:09 am
>> gerald ford made the claim of no domination of europe and that cost him the race. this is big gasp. i know the media and colleagues are trying to help her saying she was returned to the security council patience which is esoteric non-sense. it is more than what they are saying. hillary clinton is part of the policy which the by-product was isis. we decide this is an intelligence failure or military failure and the goal of the administration to withdraw. it was a diplomatic failure why she was secretary of state to control and persecute the sunnis. >> on sunday night, we have two
9:10 am
democrats onset with me and both agreed that hillary clinton is leaning toward looking more like president obama could be more and more concerning because she is worried about the early primary states. >> we have been talking about hillary clinton walking line of not criticizing the administration and trying to prove how she will not be serving an obama third term. she is towing the line of the administration in this sense by saying we are where we need to be. but when you look at president obama's polling numbers on the issue of terrorism and overall approval of how he handled national security they are very low. if he is going to chose something to criticize the administration about it might be this. that puts the focus on her time at the state department, foreign policy record, the fact she worked closely with the white house on the foreign policy issue, and shows how out of touch she is.
9:11 am
this snot a foreign problem happening in iraq and syria. the fbi in the united states has a thousand open cases and pursuing leads on isis. this is a problem that affects people here and that is what they are worried about. >> andrea, if it is true that hillary clinton is leaning toward the barack obama way of doing things so she can build a better wall in the early primary states and i would have to say how bernie sanders is envisioning his path forward because this might show weakness. why would you pick out the think president obama is most criticized for and pick out that to follow? >> she can not escape it. we handed iraq over to the jihadist and billions in weapons they are using against our men on the frontlines. this the greatest failure from an administration in the middle east ever. you look at the arab springs,
9:12 am
egypt, libya, down the list and look at what is happening in afghanistan. this is the clinton-obama foreign policy. she takes credit for libya in her book saying i am the one who takes ownership of this and benghazi. we know she is incompetent but iow worst of all she looked the families of the four dead service members in the eye and lied. >> the way she got into fact we are at the right place where we need to be in her strategy the primary contenders bernie sanders and martin o'malley were criticizing her for backing regime change in place like libya and sea and countered with those are complex problems and said the line everybody is talking about today. she was trying to pivot.
9:13 am
>> she is showing with record she is bad at this stuff. because of her is why we are in this situation for many different reasons. maybe she thinks it is fine because she never understood what is going on over there. i would like to see her take responsibility for something or answer one question or something. but right now she is saying it is fine and donald trump is the worst. that is all she is doing. stay we will move on. president obama is saying isis is not powerful enough to destroy the united states. they are both talking about it. and then going on to sort of pointing the finger at the media accusing them of fanning the flames of fear. we will debate it and by them i mean those in the media. and a brand new chapter on what manages to offend college students. here is a hint. yum, it is food. there is more "outnumbered" live online when the tv version wraps up.

click on the overtime tab. there is a live chat. get in on the conversation there. if you are going social, hash tag us. tag us. one burns on my watch! try alka-seltzer heartburn reliefchews. charlie gasparinoterpter i have heartburn. alka-seltzer heartburn reliefchews. enjoy the relief. we were in a german dance group. i wore lederhosen. so i just started poking around on ancestry. then, i decided to have my dna tested through ancestry dna. it turns out i'm scottish. so, i traded in my lederhosen for a kilt.
9:18 am
happening on the las vegas strip. police are looking at casino surveillance camera for information. a woman with a three year old in the back seat of her car swerved her car on to the sidewalk on purpose. 30 people injured and one person killed. witnesses say it looked like the woman backed up and sped toward the crowd at least three or four times. the strip has reopened to traffic after being closed for 12 hours. we will update you if we get more new information. >> president obama again trying to reassure a jittery public on the war against terror. the president saying to npr isis cannot destroy the united states but he understands why people are worried and his administration may have fumbled
9:19 am
their anti-isis strategy but the president is blaming the media for sparking fear. >> isis combines viciousness with savvy media operations. as a consequence, if you have been watching television for the last month, all you have been seeing, all you have been hearing about, is these guys with masks or black flags who are potentially coming to get you. >> in the he has given
9:20 am
9:21 am
across three different huge occasions capturing our attention. we are covering him talk about the people in the masks and black flags but he is not soothing the fears and now he is turning it on us. no, it is back on you. >> is this real? a communication problem? it is pretty bad when you are blaming the people who buy ink by the barrel. but it is such an incredible, unbelievable move for the president to blame the media and then blame the public. >> it is more than a communication problem. it is a lack of confidence in this president to adequately fight terrorism. i would go back to the paris attacks during the summit abroad in turkey and he gave a weak response and people started to question. foreign leaders starting questioning him and his ability to lead the world and the global coalition he claims he is doing to combat isis. this goes to the tax point. this was a president who is not
9:22 am
speaking policy and it is not his fault. he has to allocate blame properly. he is intelligent. he is like a defense attorney in a jury trial. it is not that i am innocent but someone else could be guilty. that is always the approach he takes. it worked during the political season in 2012. people are not buying it anymore. that is why he keeps going out and having to quell the fears. >> he lives in this academic fantasy world where he believes his words can part the ocean or heal the masses or whatever he used during the 2008 campaign. this time around where americans are dead in san bernardino and troops we learned are dead in afghanistan today because of radical islamic jihadism he is out of touch. that is scarier than anything. >> and the way he talked like
9:23 am
they are going to come get you. it is not funny when people have been killed because of this and entire countries that lost because of isis and iraq is a failed state now because of isis. the president is upset because the events that occurred exposed him as not being competent and a liar with him saying al-qaeda is not on the run and exposes him as not wanting to deal with the problem. he cannot say i didn't watch enough cable news and i wasn't aware of how scary this is and then say we are covering this too much. when americans are beheaded on video by isis and you believe -- you go -- atto the golf course will talk about it. >> liberals go golfing,
9:24 am
trivalize it, keep their servers in the toilet, this is a serious threat and the president is trying to trivalize it. >> he is saying it is not my foreign policy but the way the media is branding my foreign policy which is obviously so ridiculous because you are saying there is events happening. people were just killed in san bernardino. to say it is the media, no people are afraid because we have something to be afraid of. how about that? >> they just devised a new terror alert system. >> the generals at the pentagon and everybody else i trust say this isn't true. >> 77% of people polled last week said they are not feeling like we are where we should be. >> and they are right. less than six weeks from the first presidential caucus and the nation's first primary.
9:25 am
new numbers on which republican candidates hold the top spot in those states and how much it matters at this point in the race. if you thought those frazzled flowers we call college students couldn't be offended by lunch, yes, lunch, you are wrong. why sushi and sandwiches are making some kids need a big faith base.
9:29 am
>> glad you are watching "outnumbered." new questions about whether the gop candidates will be able to main their standing in the early voting states. right now senator ted cruz holds a comfortable lead in the real clear political average in iowa with around 30%. trump is at 26%, followed by mark rubio, dr. ben carson and jeb bush. but it is a very different story
9:30 am
in new hampshire where trump is at 28% and rubio and cruz at 12% and christie and bush rounding out the top five. trump has 34% of the vote in south carolina as well. ted, rubio and carson take two, three and four and carson at fifth. you worked on many campaigns. >> that is correct. >> what do you make of where trump is? where does he need to win? is it about that with him? he has been in front for so long. >> you should not make too much of polls, especially at an early stage, but it not that early anymore. we have to acknowledge donald trump trump is going to be a force of nature. i will say the greatest gravitational force is momentum. if ted cruz wins the iowa caucus
9:31 am
i think there is a reshuffling of the poll numbers especially in south carolina. i suggested that trump's real opposition to the republican party is not the establishment like kasich or christie. it is from the active -- conservative wing of the party and that is ted cruz. >> i want to ask you where you think the momentum is coming from for ted cruz? >> i think he is getting some of carson's support and it makes sense new hampshire isn't supporting donald trump. but with polls, i always say he has more support than people are willing to admit because a lot of people might not admit they like donald trump but are secretly on twitter going nuts for him. >> you said that donald trump is like the joke in the room nobody wants to tell the punch line to. >> it is like an inappropriate
9:32 am
job. you look over both shoulders before you say i like this. i think the polling is a lot higher for trump. i want to yield time here to hob-nob because we used to work on campaigns together. i want you to breakdown a couple scenario. we saw lindsey graham drop out and i would love your point on with his points go. if the others drop out, break that down and walk us through the scenario where if ted cruz takes iowa, i don't see him taking new hampshire. it doesn't seem suited for him. >> the numbers don't support it. >> and they will not. it is not a state that plays to that area of the republican party. break that down. what happens after that? >> donald trump would without a doubt have sincere support in new hampshire which likes to as a primary group they have corky behavior sometimes and don't go for the standard bearer of the republican party. i thought many people on the
9:33 am
ground actually think donald trump's organization on the ground is strong in new hampshire. his campaign manager is from new hampshire. that is definitely's trump firewall if he loses iowa. then he goes into south carolina on stronger footing to take on ted cruz. ted cruz's other advantage is march 1st is what we call the sec primary. trump and cruz have a similar dynamic in those states. if they both go into the this with momentum you could see the end of the romance. they will have to start engaging each other directly. meanwhile, i will only say this quickly. i think a person who is slow and steady here is mark rubio. he has not done enough to cement himself in the second place spot. but his running is the stalemate
9:34 am
if trump and cruz go too far. >> and what about dr. ben carson? i could see a split in south carolina. if he doesn't go away, he has that component of evangelical voters who have not drifted away from him. >> i think ben carson has been hurt especially in the last debate by the non-explanation of how he handles foreign policy and terrorism by the voters. >> he is probably not going to get anymore on the ground experience. >> moving on to something less important students at a liberal arts college are offended by what they call the culturally inappropriate dishes. they are upset over the sushi and general so's chicken they are meeting with people to
9:35 am
discuss the matter. it was ridiculous how could they throw out something different and label it as a country's traditi traditional food. when you are cooking another country's dish you are representing the meaning of the dish as well as its culture. so if people not from that heritage take food, modify, and serve it as authentic, it is inappropriate. so, going to you first, don't you think these kids should be in class? >> i don't like these kids at all. if you feel personally victimized by sushi i am happy you never had a real problem but shutup because others have. the chicken is american food and originated in the united states. we cannot say anything, now we
9:36 am
can't eat anything. if you can afford the school that cost $50,000 a year things are probably not that bad for you and maybe you should adopt an air of gratitude rather than whining about something. >> doesn't it go to the points, these kids, or these young adults, this is a product of a first world problem. they have nothing else to complain about. instead of saying we are starving and don't have food and eating ramen like our parents they are complaining the food is culturally incensensitivinsensi. >> i guzzled ramens myself. it is delightful. they are babies. they are the future. as you point out if sushi is your biggest problem i don't see this as being a real struggle. it goes back to the stick up that is colleges and
9:37 am
universities $60,000 a year. it as a stick up. no one is learning. >> isn't it though, in a sense, we call them baby special snowflakes but when they are da demanding meetings and demanding people be fired isn't that bullying? >> i grew up in a lebanese household. the first year of freshman year i saw some in the fridge and grabbed it and ate it and it sucked. this was an effort by the university to engage in nutritional diversity. this was a pc program that now the liberals and student body seem to be rejected. i love liberal pc on liberal pc violence. >> no good deed goes unpunished is what you are saying.
9:38 am
what is really sad is it doesn't give you the opportunity to walk away from tolerating to celebrating. we are stuck in the zone of having to talk about whether or not it was good enough to make the journey >> taco tuesday is tomorrow, everyone. >> yummy. all right. and the winner of the biggest beauty pageant is? ms. columbia. oh, wait, no she is not. the mistake heard around the universe and the theories on how it could have happened. we have the back story up next.
9:43 am
universe. major and embarrassing mixup at last night's pageant and the >> hos host apologizing after announcing the wrong winner. >> i have to apologize. the first runner-up is columbia. miss universe 2015 is philippines. >> and then ms. columbia having her crown removed and put on the head of the rightful winner. harvey took to twitter saying i want to apologize to ms. philippines and ms. columbia
9:44 am
adding this was an honest and human mistake and i am regretful. some are wondering if this was a publicity stunt with the washington post pointing out that harvey's cue cards indicated the name of the winner and runner-up were very clear written in large print. >> he even turned his card around to show the camera it was correct on the card but his fault reading it. steve harvey you need a pub publicist and get off twitter especially without spell check. >> my first thought was it could have been worse if you were reading paternity results or something. he can never take over for maury
9:45 am
now. maybe miss columbia should sue for emotional damages. >> there is a report a lawyer is eyeing a lawsuit. i would like to confirm that on my own so i will say it is a report. >> you have one job. i was sick for her. it was awful. >> that is a bomb going off. i felt awful for the girls. this is a once and a lifetime experience. this is the thing they do. it was ruined. what steve harvey did was try to remember rather than reading the card. he tried to remember and ad-lib
9:46 am
and screwed up. >> do you know how long it takes those women to get there? months and months of preparation. you are an eternal optimist so you think ms. columbia, at least people are looking at her. we get the results usually and say she is beautiful. is there an up side? >> the way i conclude it is there is two winners. compassion for both. i think both have ample opportunities for endorsement. this is the most relevant runner up we had in a pageant. there is going to be a silver lining. i said this about donald trump and saturday live could not have written it better than what happened last night. it was a terrible moment where you think did that just happen? >> compounded by the fact they
9:47 am
ran out of time. what you saw at the end of the show was the taking off the crown and they didn't get it right. that moment is cemented and they can work it. >> she will get a good deal out of it. let's follow-up on this story. >> i won a greek pageant and more time to wear the crown. not as glamorous but -- >> do you still have the crown? >> i still have the crown. i believe it was a paper crown. there is a video out there. >> what was your talent? >> i will tell that during overtime. an nfl star for penalties with altercations from an opponent but allowed to finish the game. is odel beckham getting special
9:48 am
treatment because of this star status? should he be suspended? should he be suspended? make sure the germs they bring home don't stick around. use clorox disinfecting products. because no one kills germs better than clorox. ugh! heartburn! no one burns on my watch! try alka-seltzer heartburn reliefchews. they work fast and don't taste chalky. mmm...amazing. i have heartburn. alka-seltzer heartburn reliefchews. enjoy the relief.

graham said the republican party made progress in recognizing the danger of isis and that clears the way for him to step down. a deadly incident in las vegas with one killed and two dozen injured after a woman rammed her carjacking into pedestrians. she is in jail and we are waiting a news conference from the police department there. and the man who bought several of the guns used in the san bernardino terror attack is facing a judge today. he plotted terror attacks possibly with syed rizwan farook as well. live coverage and an analysis ahead. >> we will be watching. >> the nfl is taking heat after refer referees failed to eject beckham, jr. from the game against carolina yesterday. he was caught slapping, hitting and pushing the panther's corner
9:53 am
and slammed into his helmet at one point. beckham through three personal fouls but was still allowed to finish out the giants loss, 38-35. critics complaining beckham is receiving special treatment because of his super star status. in an nfl statement we learned the disqualification of the player is a judgment made by on field officials. the actions of the players involved in sportsman like conduct will be reviewed. >> we only had two ejections this year compared to 14 all of last season and that is largely because the nfl thought they nipped the problem in the butt at the beginning of the season. >> really? >> they had the sensitivity training videos they assumed the players would take to heart. i am a beckham junior fan and love the giants but that was
9:54 am
inexcusable. the first half, he did a lot of hitting but not a lot of catching and dropped a touchdown pass. when you talk about a three-point loss to the best team in football that catch at the beginning of the game would have been nice. i think he will have a fine for sure. i am not sure how extreme the penalty will be but it was disappointed. >> arguments from the team were he needs to learn how to handle this on the field. he needs to learn how to control himself on the field so we will leave him there to continue this bad behavior and get special treatment. the same treatment based on anyone else based on the rules of the game. >> this drifts away from football now and gets into the zen of personal responsibility and special treatment and what we will allow and what we will not. >> this is why i love football. i love when bad things happen in
9:55 am
football. everyone loves football. all of the sports bars turns into bars where they play forensic crimes. that is my dream but it doesn't happen. i am going to crush the nursing home some day. of course, there is never an accountability for any of these people. that is what it is like to be a super star of any kind. but people love football and this doesn't matter at the end of the day. >> yeah, it is about mup money. >> you like drinking in the middle of the day? >> i went to the sports bar trying to watch the game and wound up journaling in the corner. no one likes that. >> day drinking, yes. unsportsman like conduct? no. i just did an entire season
