serious, imminent threat of a terror attack. they asked people to stay away from stations. here in new york, police are working to keep people safe. rick leventhal joins us now with william bratton. >> and special agent rodriguez is here as well. congratulations on a night safe so far. police commissioner william bratton. i know you have hundreds of extra officers this year. why did you ramp things up? >> the way the world's been going the last couple of years with the emergence of isis on the stage, recent events in paris, those in california. fortunately in new york we have extraordinary resources to ramp up. both in the fbi and the new york pd. so we have a lot of extra resources tonight. we don't think we're going to need them but i think the public appreciates having them around. >> so far so good. any incidents to report at all

country where you still have control over what happens to you. you know if you get a good education in this country, it really doesn't matter what your background is you basically get to write your own ticket so i guess what that means for us as a nation is we need to make sure that we afford a good education to all of our people because we only have 330 million people and we're competing against china with 1.4 billion, and india with over a billion, so we have to get the bang for a buck out of all our citizens. >> dr. carson there was a bit of news out of your campaign today, a couple of your top guys resigned. tell us the state of your candidacy, where you're going, how are you looking for 2016 have those positions been replaced? >> well you know we did a deep dive and recognized that there were some areas of deficiency. having said that, must recognize that the team that we had you

know took a very unlikely scenario. a complete outsider and put them into a competitive position where nobody thought that was remotely possible. so kudos where kudos are needed. but in fact you know we're moving into a different phase now, and we need something different, and we brought that in to place, i think people are going to see a very major difference. we have operators now. and this is what i've seen in the corporate world. you have to have people with very good ideas, but you have to have operators in order to effectuate those ideas. >> and dr. carson i really love your message, going back to education, the value, the importance of it. i know you credit that and also your mother to helping to create you to be the man that you are today, and with education alive, and you have the lives that you have touched. and now as you seek the
