what did you think of tonight's big debate? tell me what you think. "hannity" has a great line up for you, right now. >> welcome to hannity. it was a showdown in south carolina with the 2016 candidates squaring off in now their sixth debate, earlier tonight. front runner donald trump had many big moments, take a look. >> she did say there was anger. i am very angry because our country is being run horribly. i will gladly accept the anger our military is a disaster, our health care is a horror show. obamacare, we're going to repeal it and replace it. we have no borders. our vets are being treated

horribly. illegal immigration is beyond belief. our country is being run by incompetent people. and yes, i am angry. >> we have to stop with political correctness and get down to creating a country that is not going to have the kind of problems that we have had with people flying planes into the world trade centers with the shootings in california and with all of the problems all over the world. i just left indonesia. bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb. we have to find out what is going on. temporarily. i didn't say permanently. and i have many great muslim friends. and some of them, i will say not all, have called me and said donald, thank you very much. you're exposing an unbelievable problem. >> here with reaction from the spin room in south carolina, in 2016, donald trump, mr. trump, good to see you. you know when you said i'm very
9:02 pm
angry, i said i agree with you. i'm angry that so many americans are in poverty. many americans out of the labor force. so many americans unemployed. so many americans on food stamps. i'm angry at a lot of the things. i felt it was a politically incorrect answer that a lot of us feel. talk more about it. >> well, you know when they talk about anger, everybody thought i'd say i'm not really angry. well, i am angry at how badly our country is run. and i guess i got a standing ovation or something. i'm looking but thinking about other things so i'm not watching so much. a lot of people are angry. we're not going to be angry for long. because when we straighten the country out, sean, we'll be very happy and you'll be at the front of the line because you've been complaining for a long time. >> i have, and do you know what? it's not about me. i know friends of mine are on food stamps. i know people in poverty and that want better jobs but
9:03 pm
they're not counted by the government. one thing i want you to clarify. a agree with you on the temporary ban, especially of syrian refugees because our fbi director and our ongoing fight with isis pointed out isis has a plan to infiltrate the refugee population. you know, why would other people be willing to gamble with the lives of americans by taking in people that might be associated with this group? >> well, they're either very, very foolish people, very, very incompetent people, or they have bad intentions. i don't think it's bad intentions. a lot of people do, by the way, you understand that. it is so inconceivable. you have people where, i don't know if you saw they caught it with cell phones. who in a migration line has cell phones? but there are thousands of cell phones all over the place. and it says isis. there are pictures on the cell
9:04 pm
phones of beheadings and other things. and this is what we're taking in? we have no idea where these people are coming from, sean. we can't allow it to happen. if i win, and if these people are here, we have to send them back. we can work and let the gulf states pay for it. we'll build free zones in syria. which is probably where they want to be, anyway. they can go back home. >> yes. >> i feel badly about it. >> food, water, baby formula. we'd help pay for that. >> we should get the gulf states to pay. they have a lot of money and haven't been paying. they have to pay. we don't know who they are. where they are. we have no idea. they have no paper work, no documentation. i watched your show when you had great law enforcement people. they said there is absolutely no way of telling anybody where these people come from because there is no documentation.
9:05 pm
>> we'll be gambling with the lives of american. i will agree with you, but i'm not willing to risk one american life to take in people we know isis infiltrated. did you see where isis is telling their sympathizers to cut their beards and blend in in society. put on a crucifix, how to rape female prisoners. >> sean, take a look at what's happening in germany. take a look at belgium, now, it's living in hell. take a look at what's happening all over the world. we owe $19 trillion, now we're going to take these people in? we can't do it. >> that was a great exchange you have had on the issue of admitting, yeah, i'm angry and here is why. a couple good moments that you had with ted cruz, great

exchanges. i thought this was the best debate so far of the six you have had. this is you and ted cruz going over the issue of new york values. i want to ask you a question out of this. >> everyone understands that the values in new york city are socially liberal, pro abortion, pro gay marriage, focus around money and the media. i can frame it another way. not a lot of conservatives come out of manhattan. i'm just saying. >> so conservatives actually do come out of manhattan. including william f buckly and others just so you understand. new york is a great place. it's got great people, loving people, wonderful people. when the world trade center came down, i saw something that no place on earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than new york and we rebuilt downtown manhattan. everybody in the world watched
9:07 pm
and everybody in the world loves new york and loves new yorkers and i have to tell you that was a very insulting statement that ted made. >> i don't know if you remember this, but in an interview years ago, i pointed out to you that mr. trump, i said if you move your headquarters down to florida you won't pay a 4% state tax and 10% city tax. you had an interesting answer. explain that. >> well, i love new york. i love the people of new york and i've done well in new york. you know, i've built a great business and all over the world now, but it's based in new york. i go to florida and all over. i have companies all over. but new york is a great place. it is liberal. >> we both live here. >> i thought well, we have great people in new york and i thought ted's response was very insulting to, you know a tremendous, many, many millions of people. i thought it was very insulting to maria, who, by the way did a

9:09 pm
obama ended coal practically, entirely. you can clean it. there is clean coal now. we'll get west virginia rocking and pennsylvania and do you know what we do with coal now? we sell it to china and they use it. what is that all about? we'll get the coal industry going back. i don't know if that is the reason, why west virginia, i got a good number there. i love the people of west virginia and they have suffered because of president obama. >> yes. >> let me play the exchange over the issue of natural born citizens, similarly, that you had with ted cruz. i'm not surprised you went at it a little bit tonight. for 18 days, now, 17 days out of iowa and you guys have gone back and forth a little bit in three weeks. let's play that exchange. >> well, not really. i'm leading in the polls. >> back in september, my friend donald said he had his lawyers look at this from every which way. and there was no issue there.
9:10 pm
there was nothing to this birther issue. now, since september, the constitution hasn't changed. but the poll numbers have. >> in iowa, now, as you know, ted, in the last three polls, i'm beating you. you shouldn't misrepresent how well you're doing in the polls. here is the problem, he said i win. i choose him as my vice presidential candidate. and the democrats sue because we can't take him along for the ride. i don't like that. go out, get a judgment, let the courts decide. >> why do you-why now? why do you raise this issue now? >> because now he's doing better. >> i spent my life defending the u.s. constitution before the u.s. supreme court and i'm not going to take legal advice from
9:11 pm
donald trump. >> you kindly just a moment ago offered me the vice president slot. if this works out, i'm happy to consider naming you as vp. so if you happen to be right, you can get the top job at the end of the day. >> it's a funny exchange. i want to ask you this. why are you so convinced democrats would sue on this? in my mind, it's settled law. but importantly, why do you -- >> you're wrong. you're wrong. it's not settled law. many lawyers have said it's not settled. there has been no ruling from the supreme court. you're not right. first time in 20 years i've known you, you're wrong. it's not settled law. you can't have a person. i put it on the screen the other night that it gives a very specifics about -- i don't want to get into the debate with you. but i understand. you're convinced they might sue. >> sean, sean, let me explain something. >> yes. >> if there is a 1% chance, he can't do it. he's got to get a decla-clarito
