looks like marco rubio, he will get a larger share of the market share in weeks to come and contests to come. >> martin o'malley out of the race by democratic side, mike huckabee out of the race on the republican side. where do their supporters go? >> mike huckabee and supported the end up with ted cruz but marco rubio attacked a lot of evangelicals in iowa. i don't know if some of the army be angry. we won't know. if 2% is not enough to make a difference the people that ted cruz really needs to attract are ben carson because he was an 9% or 10%, without him if he dropped out before ted cruz would have had a much bigger victory so they will be looking at ben carson's campaign continuing to be in a fragile state and deteriorated weeks to come he will be looking for his supporters. jon: the associate editor of the

rest of the country. the only state that has a greater percentage of democratic primary voters is south carolina and the southern states and nevada. hillary clinton's advantage in south carolina is 37 points. as you move past the first two states you will have a different set of challenges for sanders and a different electorate. jenna: that's not what sanders says. do you think he's overly optimistic and do you agree with bernard or do you think he will be on a roll here? >> the fact that a 74-year-old self-described socialist from a small state can tie hillary clinton from iowa and will probably be the winner in new hampshire shows the clinton machine is week at best and how weak she is as a nominee.

the democratic establishment can fool themselves into believing there is a fire wall in the southern states. and demographics are what gets hillary clinton the nomination. there are just as many states that favor bernie sanders with this demographic. and that discounts the fact that the single digest determinant is -- the single biggest determinant is winning. as you win you get more people on your side. we had one superdelegate in south carolina twitch from hillary clinton to bernie sanders. the dems can fool themselves that they have this fire wall in the south, but they have their superdelegates to make sure he doesn't get if the nomination. jenna: a lot of the iowa democrats describe themselves as

socialist. there was this infamous exchange between chris matthews and the head of the dnc about the difference between a democrat and socialist. >> what is the difference between a democrat and socialist. i used to think there was a big difference. what do you think it is? between a democrat hillary clinton and bernie sanders. >> what's the difference between being a democrat and being a republican. >> what is the biggest difference between being a democrat and a socialist. >> the relevant debate we'll be having is what is the difference between the democrat and republican. jenna: some are pointing to this and say this is why bernie sanders is doing well in iowa an won't do well in other states. when you have see the head of the dnc struggling to explain the difference, one has to understand what is the, wonder

what is the state of the democratic party. >> i think that was not debbie wasserman-schultz's finest hour. socialists believe in big government solutions, tax the rich and soak corporations. democrats believe in a market economy that needs proper regulations and guidance and believes in the market to help solve the problems. the fundamental realities of the electric that show bernie sanders will do well in iowa and new hampshire. but 30% of democrats are not socialists. they tend to be more centrist and pragmatic. democrats want a progressive who can win and bring healthcare to everyone. not someone with great ideas but ultimately the solutions are not

going to work. jenna: it seems like that could be a defining variable of what a republican is. what do you think this means for the republican party and there is a battle within the party to define what a democrat is versus a socialist. >> bernard can better define who they are than their current chairman can. democrats have superdelegates in place for a reason. it's so if they don't like who the voters select they can put someone else in. for all of those folks still hoping elizabeth warren or joe biden become the nominee, as the seem scandal continues to percolate around hillary clinton an indictment could company time. the fact that she is losing to persony sanders, rules can be made to change.
