>> tonight, bernie, kristen, addition chris5nei-and in christie endorsing donald trump. caution, you are about to enter the no spin zone. the factor begins right now. ♪ ♪ i am bill o'reilly. thanks for watching us tonight. the tenth republican debate, that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. as usual, there are analysts saying who won and who lost the debate last night. that is meaningless because it's really up to you, thexu voter. the real test will come on super tuesday, just four days away. right now donald trump has 82 delegates, ted cruz 17. marco rubio 16, john kasich 6. ben carson 4. 1237 delegates are needed for the nomination. so you can see the race is not even close to being called. however, there is one undeniable fact, donald trump is a clear favorite.
8:02 pm
so last night his two main contenders went after him hard. 40 years have you been funding liberal democratic politicians. >> i fund dollars you. >> you are welcome to have the check back. >> i gave him a check. >> gave me $5,000. >> never funded me. >> by the way, let's be clear, donald claims -- >> -- do you know why? i didn't want to. he. >> mr. trump, you are doing a great job. i have his book. >> that was entertaining, but didn't really advance a5rrñ talking points has said from the very beginning of the campaign that many americans are voting on emotion, not facts. that's why candidatesdi like trump and bernie sanders have gotten so much attention. not to it say those two men are policy-poor they're not. their primary appeal is personal. i think they both acknowledge that couple specific things from the debate. trump was criticized by the "the washington post" and others for saying. this.

the former secretary of state. later on bolling and rivera will handicap a possible trump vs. clinton race. for now i think the clinton campaign has changed its view. before south carolina, mr. trump's lead was kind of hypothetical. now it's reality. many pundits believe marco rubio won the debate last night but, again, that is your call.s+ responsible american voters have now seen the republicans hash it out 10 times. yet, it's estimated that 6% of g.o.p. voters are still undecided and others could change allegiance if other candidates drop out. that's what keeps rubio and cruz going because it's really hard to be undecided about donald trump. you either like him or you don't. one of the big advantages trump has is name recognition because of his television program. rubio and cruz are not well known by most americans, so they're essentially playing catch up as far as i.d. is concerned. that's why you rubio's feistiness last night may have helped him. even though a fraction of5÷ the american public watched the debate. the clips were all over social media and local news.
8:06 pm
rubio took a page out of the trump playbook take it too-to-your opposition. unlike the past debates the senator did not concentrate on ted cruz he went after the poll leader. for his fares8l'úx trump stood firm and fought back the way he always does. using disdain and pointed criticisms. while some americans are ochesded by his blunt talk, there is no worked for him so far. but now it's crunch time. it donald trump sweeps ton tuesday, he wins. marco rubio or ted cruz can stay close, then it's on to the big march 15th vote in:aíçl florida. a must-win for any republican nominee. also if trump beats cruz in texas on tuesday, the senator is done. now, the two other candidates on the stage last night, i thought john kasich did a good job because he concentrated on policy and he has been very successful in ohio as we know. i like his economic vision. i like his healthcare stand and there is= no question the man knows what he is talking about. at this point kasich is really running for vice president. he can't overcome the three frontrunners. as for ben0
8:07 pm
what can you say? he is a good man who has waged a dignified campaign but he has no shot. we discussed that with the doctor himself earlier this week. carson stays in the race because he feels his message must be heard. there is nothing wrong with that after tuesday, i expect ben carson to drop out. kasich could stay in because his home state of ohio comes up on march 15th and he runs stronger in the northeast and midwest than in the south. so that's about it. summing up, rubio and cruz gave trump their best shot. trump took the heat, didn't buckle can. you, the voter make ttimate cal. that's where the spin really stops. and that's the memo. next on the rundown, chris wallace will weigh in on my analysis. also, chris christie endorsing donald trump today. and later kirsten powers, bernie goldberg, bolling and pet moments are beautiful, unless you have allergies. then your eyes may see it differently. only flonase is approved to relieve both your itchy, watery eyes and congestion. no other nasal allergy spray can say that.

not only that, an estimated 45% of all american workers pay absolutely no federal income tax at all. it's an estimated 77.5 million families. stuart is here. who's the villain? >> i'm getting hot under the collar about bernie sanders. a tiny fraction of the population pays almost half of all the taxes. but bernie sanders wants more from that top -- >> and we're bad guys to boot. >> yes. look, this is confiscation. in many parts of the country, right now you will pay more than half your income in taxes. california, new york city, et cetera, et cetera. and bernie sanders wants more. that's confiscation. that is you've got it, i want it, i need it, i'm taking it. i've seen this before, bill. i'm a refugee from this kind of socialism, and i don't like it. >> you're talking about britain. >> i am indeed. >> i think the villainy spreads out from bernie sanders.
8:51 pm
congress has made these tax laws. congress is the taxing agent, and they've set it up so that 1.3 million citizens who are doing very well, are now the main provider for the federal apparatus. i think they should spread it out a little more and there are ways to do that. >> yes, there are ways to do that, when you have this tiny fraction paying so much of the tax burden, you have to spread it out more. >> you can do it without being punitive to people who aren't doing that well. i would figure a small value added tax, just to keep things rolling, because you're right, confiscation. one of the things that bernie sanders wants is free education. in england, and you correct me if i'm wrong, you take a test when you're 16 years old, is that correct? >> that's correct in my day, correct. >> the test defines who's going to the public college paid for
8:52 pm
by britain. the others are doomed to blue collar existence. >> that's correct. >> because nobody in that area can pay for private. you can go to oxford if you have $100,000 to spend. grad school and things like that, you can get into oxford if you pay the freight and other private schools. so what they've set up in england and other places is not free public education, it's free throw public education if it at 16 years old you pass a test, by i couldn't have done. >> back in the '70s when i graduated from college, only 2% of british kids went to university. >> now it's about 50%. >> a lot more now. but back in those days, yes, we went for free, but we were educated and elite. can you do that? can you pay for everybody to go to college for free? no, you can't. bernie sanders says you can if you tax the rich more. that's villainy.
8:53 pm
>> and health care in britain is what, good, fair? >> it's good. and it's paid for by general taxation. and that's extremely high. when i left england in the '70s, tax rate was 90%. now it's about 50%, something like that. but the country was a wreck. it was a wreck because of socialism. it grieves me to see exactly the same thing happening. >> but bernie's not winning. on that note, stuart varney, seth myers, bernie sanders, ireland, and me. the "tip of the day" coming up. go, go, go, go, go, go... touchdown! ♪ choir and harp music. this place, it's the best-kept secret in football since... hey, how did he get in here?! and with toe nail fungus! fight it! with jublia. jublia is a prescription medicine used to treat toenail fungus. use jublia as instructed by your doctor. now that's prime time. most common side effects include ingrown toenail, application site redness, itching, swelling, burning or stinging,

8:59 pm
places. good luck for getting government run health care for 320 million folks here, and free college tuition is predicated upon testing as we just talked about for teenagers, dopey teenagers. and to attract people like me, ireland gives nice tack breaks to published authors. don't think bernie is going to propose that.
