michigan primary next tuesday. so who won and who lost? joining me now our political panel, democratic strategist and republican strategist and former communications aide for the mccain/palin presidential campaign, boris epstein. thank you both for joining us this morning once again. >> good morning. >> what a night. >> amazing. >> i mean, it was like nothing i think has ever been seen before. >> how could you up the last one? >> they somehow managed to. let's talk about winners/losers first of all. >> well, in a strong number one, i would have to say the democratic party was an infomercial for the democratic party. >> where's the panel? >> in a close second, it has to be ted cruz. he showed his debate chops. he's so skilled. he seemed semi-presidential although i agree with nothing he says. he was able to kind of maneuver around hits against donald and substance. >> specifically something of substance that stood out for you with him?

>> well -- >> do you remember anything he said? do you remember anything that he said, though? >> that's actually a really good point. >> the following day. what do you remember? >> well, i think he came across strong. >> okay. >> in terms of foreign policy. i don't agree with him so it's very hard for me to say something stood out. byzantine foreign policy. >> loser. >> marco rubio. he's trying to out-trump trump. he looks like he's on a football team and messing around with his pals and that's his way of winning but it's not a path forward and doesn't look presidential and that hurts him in the long term because if he is the candidate, don't forget, the republican party remember this. >> you also thought kasich did as well. >> yeah, kasich has been consistently running his own race in his own lane. the problem is this is not the election for that. >> you thought kasich did as well. kasich was your loser. >> big time. >> i had the ben carson paddle here but i lost it. for me kasich was the loser. i thought kasich was running his

own debate and far, far away from the rest of the field. >> a lot of people say he's been doing that all along, out on his own. >> here they ask him a question, they're talking about something and then kasich would say, well, in the town halls i had and go complete non sequitur on everyone else. it didn't make any sense. the mister rogers routine, i think the country's tired of it. that's why he's not gaining traction. to me it was a bad night for kasich. >> not a good day in the neighborhood. >> not a good day in the neighborhood. he hasn't done anything to get himself up from single digits. >> who's your winner? >> donald trump is my winner. there was nothing that hurt donald trump. again, he answered the attacks very strongly, withstood a lot of two-on-one attacks from rube y rubio and cruz. some of the things he said, working across the aisle and listen, i've got to be common sense. we've got to get things done in

washington. >> in favor, and the others tried to use flexibility against him. let's talk about moving forward. did kasich and rubio gain the momentum that they need in order to win their home states, you know, ohio and florida coming up march 15th. >> no. >> and to do anything to knock donald trump out? >> rubio did not. so rubio does not have a chance at this point. he's down by 20 points. it's been consistent. the gap is actually growing between trump and rubio. >> 99 delegates up for grabs in florida. >> and winner take all. florida is like a second home to trump. his campaign is out of florida so he's doing well there. no for rubio. kasich, too close to call. >> but neither of them, to be fair, in florida have a spectacular reputation. even though rubio was speaker of the house, he was funded by the sugar industry which floridians hate. he has a poor record in the senate. he barely shows up for votes. >> he's not running for re-election. >> and he's not running for

re-election. >> we also have ohio with kasich. >> ohio. >> and reputation in ohio, he does. >> if anything comes out of this, governor kasich has kept his reputation as a good guy. even to a demographic who doesn't like his record. >> the debates and the campaign isn't going to sway anybody in ohio against him or for him. >> 66 delegates there. also winner take all. >> now he's down by five. >> we have to wrap it up now but you're coming back, so don't go far. >> thanks. >> jackie? >> thanks, heather. that was quite a debate. social media is buzzing over that debate from the most tweeted-about topics to donald trump's big digs at marco rubio and everything in between. here to bring you trends from the web is "fox & friends" weekend cohost, clayton morris. >> whether it was donald trump talking about his hands, his large hands or other parts of his anatomy which were some of the most tweeted-about candidates last night and tweeted-about topics, donald trump once again dominated the social media discussion last night right on top with 62%

compared to ted cruz at 16%. it wasn't even close last night. take a look at the most searched-for across google last night. donald trump once again crushing it. this was even further for donald trump. 74% to rubio's 13%. this was people jumping on google to find out more about his business practices, his super tuesday victories, et cetera. then the most tweeted-about overall topics last night, one of the moderators, of course, everyone was checking in to see how this would go. megyn kell megyn kelly came out number one as the most searched for topic. and mitt romney, after his, of course, speech yesterday slamming donald trump. immigration, taxes and foreign policy rounded out that role. some big moments last night. of course during the debate. and the number one most tweeted-about moment was donald trump coming out and defending his businesses. he took some big hits from the candidates last night. and of course, showing clips about some of the people who had come out talking poorly about his donald trump university. he had to defend those.

>> it is 14 after the hour. the candidates went head to head on the issues facing america. did they get their facts straight? here to fact check the debate is radio talk show host tammy bruce. let's get right to it. kasich says he's the biggest competition. >> i would make it clear since we are talking about polls. i beat hillary clinton by more than everybody by more than 11 points. >> it is technically clear. the real clear politics average has him at 7.4 against hillary. but everybody is beating hillary but by a lower amount except for mr. trump. he's minus about 1 or 2 points with her. 11 points is pushing it. but his real clear politics average isn't bad. >> trump says a u.s. trade is being crushed. >> if you look at china and if you look at japan and mexico

both at the border where they are killing us both at the border with trade, every other country we do business with we are getting absolutely crushed on trade. >> true or false? >> one of those false dynamics for mr. trump where he exaggerates a bit too much. we are getting nailed with china and mexico but we have a number of other partners. we have a trade overage, if you will, with our major partners including australia, singapore, brazil, chile, belgium and egypt. we are in a better position with them. we are not getting crushed. it's a great relationship. a couple would suggest he's went too far with everyone. >> cruz says wages have been stagnant. >> for seven years millions of americans we have been struggling, wages have been stagnating, people are hurting our constitutional rights are under assault. >> the word stagnant is interesting. he gives the impression that

everything is static that it is flat. stagnant, though, can also mean sluggish. in our case wages have actually gone up a tiny bit, 1.1 percent. the difference is an example 2015, 10.50 an hour. january 2016, 10.66 an hour. people making those wages feel they have slowed down or stopped but there's a tiny tick upwards certainly not enough. he is mostly false in this case. >> our last kuone, trump claims trump university gets high marks from the better business bureau. listen to this. >> this is a case thaktd have settled very easily. i don't settle cases very easily when i am right. 98 percent approval rating. we have an a by the better business bureau. >> true or false? >> trump is true in the past it is false now but i don't blame him on focusing what was good.

you think did the best job and who has the best plan? as we go through each one individually. let's start with donald trump. we can put his plan up there. 0 taxes for those making 25,000 dollars their income or less. what do you think about his plan? >> well, you are right, they were name calling school children. i would have loved to hear more specifics. for donald trump i love what chris wallace did he called him out on saying i am going to shrink the businesses by cutting all of these agencies. he put them on the screen he could not deny the deficit he was saying he was going to slivengz off by multiple hundreds of billions of dollars. thank you to chris wallace for calling him out on that. donald trump as far as 0 taxes people under 28,000, we effectively already have that. i don't think it's anything new to be honest. >> massive tax cuts for works and investment increase and economic growth here at home.

>> let's move to cruz. cruz's tax plan includes a 10 percent flat tax on individual income and corporate income tax. all of the payroll taxes with a 16 percent business transfer tax. where do you think he did in terms of economic issues and what he talked about last night? >> well rngs he -- he was talking about dodd frank. it is a business killer. it kills the small banks. the small banks lend to community lenders and community and small businesses basically. i thought that was a strong point for ted cruz. in terms of the flat tax there have been lots of analysis to show that would cause significant deficit. i am a little more skeptical but it is a little more practical than other plans out there like trump for example. >> what about rubio's tax plan? how did it go up against his including cutting 7 tax brackets to 3 eliminating all taxes on investment income cutting the

corporate tax rate and $2,500 tax credit. >> the child tax credit i think he scored big points with social conservative evangelicals because he talks about wanting to support families. i think that was a strong point. i think that he could get hit by the fact that his tax plan he wants to cut investor tax for example. that is something that the u.s. chamber of chers would be very pro. i am not sure the election cycle would support that this is the rise of middle america or the lower income bracket. so it could hurt him. >> finally quickly we have to talk about kasich tax plan as well amongst be other thing he's saying cut the top tax rate and capital gains rate and corporate tax rate and eliminate the estate tax. >> i like kasich's plan the best. i think that's reflected of the fact that he's the only candidate on stage who has actually balanced a budget. i think he is the most
