content there and continue the conversation on twitter and e-mail us about the media, not the politics, the media at foxnews.com. we're back here next sunday, regular time, 11:00 and 5:00 eastern. see you then. >> and this hour the fox news alert, a countdown to the big town hall in philadelphia under way as they gear up for the major mid-atlantic primaries on tuesday. 172 delegates will be up for grabs in 48 hours and voters will hit the polls in delaware, maryland, and pennsylvania and rhode island. each delegate will be critical on the road to 1237 to clinch the nomination. >> the gop candidates leaving nothing to chance as they fight for every last delegate. donald trump leading the field
9:01 am
with 845. ted cruz in second with 559 and john kasich with 148. senior national correspondent john roberts is live in hagerstown with the latest on the gop race. john? >> reporter: laura, good afternoon to you. about four hours' time donald trump will pull up the famous 757 at the hagerstown airport for one of the famous hangar rallies and ted cruz coming up the big winner on the weekend getting 65 of 94 delegates available at county and state conventi conventions, and these would support him in a second ballot. he got 19 out of 20 delegates in maine. the sole trump delegate put out a facebook post accusing cruz's operatives of being greedy political hul gans and donald trump continues to assail a system that he says is corrupt
9:02 am
and rigged against him and floating against the notion that he womill make a turn from the heated rhetoric to become more presidential. >> being presidential is easy, much easier than what i have to do. i have to rant and rave, otherwise you fall asleep on me, right? if i was presidential, first of all, i would have a teleprompter, ever see crooked hillary clinton, she walks in -- good afternoonbridgeport. how are you? this is crooked hillary clinton. >> ted cruz has got an uphill battle against donald trump in all five states and looking ahead to the context after the may 3rd in indiana. big evangelical population which suits cruz well. cruz going after donald trump about his comments about
9:03 am
transjender individuals, being able to use whatever bathroom they would like and also managing to get hillary clinton in there, listen to this. >> i am the father of two young girls. and it doesn't make any sense at all to allow an adult grown man, a stranger to be alone in a bathroom with little girls. even if donald trump dresses up as hillary clinton, he shouldn't be using the girl's restroom. by the way, i apologize for that image, it's going to haunt you at night as you sleep. >> one state that ted cruz possibly could do well in on tuesday is pennsylvania where 54 of the 71 delegates are directly elected. working hard to tell voters who those people are. one other note from yesterday, a 20-year-old man from near water bury connecticut, was arrested yesterday after tweeting out bomb threats against a trump rally in waterbury, saying is something going to bomb the
9:04 am
trump rally or will i have to and warning friends and relatives to get away from the rally so they would not be harmed. he was arrested yesterday afternoon about 5:00 by counterterrorism officials as well as members of the united states secret service. he was released on a $25,000 bond and will have to appear on court on may 4th. >> john roberts for us live on this very important sunday. thank you so much. >> on the democratic side, hillary clinton and bernie sanders also campaigning in the northeastern states ahead of tuesday's contest. in all 384 democratic dell grats will be available between the five states. >> clinton is ahead in at least four of the five states with primaries on tuesday. she already has 750 more delegates than bernie sanders especially when it comes time to the superdelegates. sanders made the rounds this morning and said he still sees a
9:05 am
path to the nomination, all be it he concedes it's a narrow path. he also said he plans to continue to take the fight all the way to california. now, that's at the very end of the democratic primary calendar. throughout the course of this campaign, one of sanders' signature issues has been income inequality and when asked about this morning why that is, listen how he responded. >> because poor people don't vote. that's just a fact. sad reality of american society and that's what we have to trans fo form. we have done a good job bringing young people in and had some success of lower income people but in america today in the last election of 2014, 80% of poor people did not vote. if we can significantly increase voter turnout to young people and working people participated in the process and voter turnout of 75%, this country would be
9:06 am
radically transformed. >> clinton is almost entirely stop d attacker sanders and sanders refused to return the favor. this morning on fox news sunday, she's confident the two sides can still come together. >> i'm very confident that regardless of the intensity of what's played out at the last stages of the campaign, whichever one of our candidates is our nominee, we'll be unified and that is not the case playing out on the other side where they are headed for chaos at their convention. >> today sanders will be campaigning in connecticut and clinton in pennsylvania. both will be campaigning in rhode island. that is the one state on tuesday that's not a closed primary, meaning that independents will be allowed to vote and that will bode very well for bernie sanders. >> he's putting some hope on that state, all right, thanks so much. >> yes, he is. >> as we've been noting fox news channel is holding the town hall
9:07 am
in philadelphia as you count down it the critical kpri mary in pennsylvania. the special will be at 8:00 p.m. here at the fox news channel and you can join in by using the #foxnewstownhall and the facebook page to submit a question they could ask. >> president obama arrived in germany for a two-day push of the trans atlantic trade pact. mr. obama wrapping up a joint news conference with angela merkel. both leaders discussing a wide range of issues and interesting stuff here. white house correspondent kevin cork is live in germany with the very latest. what's happening? >> good day to you from a beautiful location here in germany and you're right, the president hoping to build more support for that u.s. european trade deal. it has been a major source of contention in germany. if you look at the overall economy, they are still the bell
9:08 am
of the ball if you will in terms of the european economy and it's been a great deal of unrest. you add to that the ongoing discussions about migration and the syrian migration. there were a number of issues he wanted to drill down on with the german chancellor ang la merkel, those protesting, and expected to impact people by eliminating trade barriers but the germans are weary given the shocks by the refooj gee crisis. the president remains confident, he thinks this deal will get done. >> there are people that didn't think with trans pacific partnership, we would be able to give me the authority to move it
9:09 am
forward and we got it done. people didn't think we were going to be able to negotiate with 11 countries in the asia pacific and have a deal is that in fact does strengthen labor and environmental provisions and yet we got it done. i think the same is going to be true here. >> the president also very reflective in his comments during the press conference. more on that later today. back to you in new york. >> kevin cork, traveling with the president in germany. >> the president also addressed anti-terrorism efforts between the u.s. and germany. the united front comes at a time when terrorism worries continue to be extremely high in europe in wake of the attacks in paris and brussels, the president emphasizing the need for us to work together. >> we agree the united states and germany will remain a strong counterterrorism and we're
9:10 am
committed to use the tools at our disposal and that includes improved information sharing between our countries and within europe. >> can more tax be prevented? john bolton joins us as always, sear yor fellow and fox news contributor. what do you think the important message is? >> i think it's its fair well trip. i don't think he's going to say anything smu with the european leaders over the next few days, the biggest bombshell was in england where he threatened not to without a trade agreement but as you heard him say, nothing new to say on the suspect of terrorism other than let's do better at a time when europe is facing an enormous influx of refugees is that even experts in the arab world say are heavily infiltrated with potential terrorists. i think the risk remains high
9:11 am
and we'll see what leaders thrash out tomorrow. obama does not appear to be bringing any new initiatives or most importantly new new leadership from the american perspective. >> talking about the refugee,la heavy criticism for the millions or so cutting the deal to send some to turkey. the president completely backed her and said she did the right thing. >> chancellor merkel is unpopular now not only within germany and within europe as well. this deal with turkey is not much of a deal. for every returned another will be taken in. the net-net will be zero. and the real problem is that combined with the lack of american leadership is that the structures of the european union are really unable to handle these kind of decisions they are already slow and bureaucratic. and so in this case angela
9:12 am
merkel made a decision last year to bring in 800,000 refugees from the middle east between 1.5 to 2 million have already come without so much as a buy or leave from partner, countries like greece, bull gar i can't remember, macedonia, seeing migrants coming through. there's been a tragic loss on one ship alone, 500 drowning at sea. more will happen over the summer. europe is not able to handle this problem. >> you talk about this being a fair well tour. remember back in 2008 when he was a candidate for president and gave what many saw as a hopeful forward looking speech in berlin while he was a candidate for president. ambassador, contrast that day to day, what has changed and what is good and what is bad? >> i think the most important
9:13 am
aspect of obama's tenure as president and international affairs in europe and around the world is the decline of american influence, the pulling back of the united states from defending its interest and its friends around the world. we've seen on the continent of europe itself, russia use military force to change international boundaries, something we all said in 1945 we'll never allow to happen again. those boundaries have been changed, countries in eastern and central europe are still under threat and nato alliance is effectively absent from the field. it's a tragedy that's being repeated in the middle east as we've discussed in refugee terms but the expansion of russian power including a new air base. these are simply the concrete reflection of the erosion of the structures of positions of strength and deterrence that the united states and its allies created over decades, when we
9:14 am
see the turmoil in europe, well, certainly they have a heavy responsibility for their own affairs, it's decline of american's press and influence in leadership that i think is really -- we can attribute all of that to barack obama. >> we just were looking at live pictures of the opening of the trade show in the wake of this attempted trade agreement, with the president sitting next to what he says is his most trusted international partner angela merkel, putting germany more in front of that special relationship with england. as always, thanks for your insilgt. >> thank you. >> laura? >> the manhunt intensifies in ohio as police search for the person who shot and killed eight members of the same family. 7 adults and teenager were found dead at four different homes in a rural part of the state on friday. authorities are offering a $25,000 reward to help them
9:15 am
track down the killer. brian has the very latest. are investigators any closer to finding out who did this? >> no, we really don't know. the manhunt is continuing on a second day of community on alert and there are so many questions today after this unimaginable crime. why would somebody kill eight members of the same family? we have the names and ages of the victim, all members of the rhoden family, their ages ranging from 16 to 44, each shot in the head execution style. some as they left in four separate homes, three of those homes were a mile and a half apart from one another. pike county and southeastern ohio was small rural community of 28,000 people. a community struggling to comprehend how this happened to the rhodens described as a we

well -- that baby and two other small children were thankfully not hur. the first 9/11 call when a female found two of her relatives. >> what's going on? >> there's blood at over the mouse. my brother-in-law in the bedroom and my -- has beat the hell out of him. >> there's blood all over the carpet. >> it is heart wrenching the eighth victim was a 16-year-old boy found miles away at 1:30 p.m. police don't knee when the shootings occurred and finished analyzing all four crime scenes and anticipates will be finished this weekend. they believe none die d from self-inflicted gunshot wounds

were the saudis involved in the 9/11 terrorism attacks against us? soon we may learn the truth. the obama administration is expected to release the secret 28 pages from the congressional 9/11 investigation. those pages have been locked away at the basement of the capitol and could shed light on the terrorists who carried out those attacks. 15 of the 19 were saudi citizens. garrett is live in the washington bureau with more. >> reporter: the secret chapter has been classified for the past 14 years and many people believe
9:22 am
it contains evidence that members of the saudi government provided aid and support to the attackers. there's been plenty of controversy over these 28 pages going back to when president george w. bush ordered them to be kept out of the joint congressional inquiry. for the last seven years the obama readministration refused to release them as well. according to former democratic senator bob graham who co-chaired the congressional inquiry, like many others, graham believes the u.s. has not released the pages up until now to avoid hurting its diplomatic relationship with the saudi kingdom. >> we're less dependent on the saudis pore petroleum as some of the things they are doing are so adverse to our interest, such as training the next generation of young terrorists in their
9:23 am
mosques and schools. between the united states and saudi arabia is very apparent and i think this is the time to inject the truth of that relationship in the process of deciding what we should be doing in the future. >> for its part the saudi government welcomes the release so it can respond rather than speculations. >> we may soon learn if there was a money trail between those suspects, thank you. >> the republican national committee holding its spring meeting this week in florida as the establishment and donald trump look to mend fences after the new chief told members, mr. trump is playing a part on the campaign trail but concerns about party unity and mr. trump's unconventional attacks
9:24 am
remain a reconcern in florida. >> it's essential to victory that we all support our candidates, this goes for anyone, whether you're a county party chairman or rnc or presidential candidate, politics is a team sport. >> i know that our candidates are going to try to say some things to attract attention, that's part of politics. we all need to get behind the nominee. >> let's talk about this with vince, executive editor of the daily caller. thanks for being here. >> my pleasure. >> trump's new campaign manager said we'll see this kinder, gentler trump but trump himself says he's not going to change because he says it will be boring for his supporters. i was at an event in harrisburg, pennsylvania, those trump supporters do not want anything different than what they've been getting. who should we be believing at this point? >> it's probabilitily a mix of
9:25 am
both. donald trump no matter what, to borrow the phrase, the decider, the guy ultimately will call the shots in his own complain. he really runs in the position of strength whenever he can. no, no, i'm not changing my tone. he realizes when he's in front of an audience, during the primary, he needs to speak as loudly and boldly as he did, that's what attracts people to him. as we move into the general, i expect we'll see differences to the way trump presents himself. maybe not necessarily in terms of how gresive he is but maybe on some of the issues he'll pick and choose things that perform better. >> when we hear the talk to unify the party ahead of the primaries, some say trump is still calling cruz lyin'ted doesn't look like he's working on that unifying process. >> donald trump is expected that
9:26 am
those who are against him will fold. and that sloengs he continues to remain strong and continues to court voters which is what he -- he's the only candidate in the race looking for a voters because he wants the delegate count to get high enough to clear the map. ted cruz and john kasich are looking to sabotage his chance of doing this. they want to bring this to a brokered convention where they can win. so he's going to perform voters in hopes he can get to 1,237 or at least close. >> if he comes up a handful short, let's say under 50, do you have a sense that the republican party will give him the nomination or they will insist on that brokered convention? >> not necessarily without a small fight ahead of the convention. this week this this spring meeting concluding with the rnc,
9:27 am
we've already begun to hear murm you ares, that's it's possible trump will get close enough to be the nominee and we've heard in the own rules network, 1100 is enough at least as a norm tif matter for a lot of people to start saying, okay, we'll allow him to get through on first ballot. the key for donald trump, get through on first ballot. if this goes on to a second ballot, donald trump is not going to get it. many cases would prefer to do. >> we know it's going to be interesting and we'll have the coverage for you on fox news. thanks for being with us. >> my pleasure. here's the plan. you're a financial company that cares, but your logo is old a a little pointy. so you evolve. you simplify. you haven't changed. you still help people live their best lives. and finally your new logo is ready, and you decide the perfect time to show the world is right... now.
