we'll see you tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. great crowd in philly. thank you, everybody. ♪ good morning, i'm your host, jesse watters. donald trump delivering a feat to ted cruz eliminating the senator before the convention. joining me live on the phone from donald trump is the republican front-runner, donald trump. thank you very much for joining us, mr. trump. >> hi, jesse. >> i want to talk to the presidential donald trump. a lot of people love the old donald trump, the brash show-biz guy that gets 10,000, 20,000 people in the stands. how are you going to balance
7:01 pm
this? >> well, i could tell you that if i go too presidential, people are going to be very bored. it's much easier, actually, than you know, what i have to do. and we do, we have the biggest crowds. we have 25,000 people. we are at 35,000 people a few weeks ago at one of the events. you know, i think if i'm too presidential, the 35,000 will turn to about 35 people. okay? and they will fall asleep. but, you know, i had 17 people, jesse, and they were hitting me from every angle, senators, congressmen, very capable people. guys like ben carson who endorsed me and chris christie, great guy who endorsed me. i was getting hit by every single side by very capable people and said i have to fight back. sometimes when you fight back it doesn't look presidential but it gets the job done. >> so you have cleared the -- >> we have to get this done, right? >> you basically cleared the field now. so now we'll talk about the general. you're going to be facing hillary clinton. first woman nominee of any

party. you have cleared out a lot of men from the republican side, you're now going to be taking on a woman. there's a lot of history there, a london of land mines, potentially. do you have a strategy going into this? how are you going too this? >> i do have a strategy. the one person she doesn't want to run against me, believe me, i know that for a fact. but look, she's got a strategy and the only thing she's got going is the woman card. without the woman card, she's got nothing going. and she's going to play it to the hilton. and i'm going to be talking about it. one of the things we talk about is we call her crooked hillary because she's a crooked person. she's always been a crooked person. >> did it take you a long time to brand her crooked hillary? >> no, the name came to me. the name comes to me about different people. i like branding people and they are correct. some you can brand, i've done a good job of branding some of my opponents in what we just did. but i will tell you, you know, the word crooked hillary is 100% correct. and you look at whitewater, look

7:04 pm
>> yeah, i think i'm going to do great with blacks and some of the polls show i'm going to get 25%. >> wow. >> which for a republican is unheard of. you know, they get 4% or 5% and consider the job well done. >> right. >> i don't. and i have amazing relationships with african-americans and a lot will be supporting me. and they know i'm going to bring back jobs, they are very smart. i'm going to bring back jobs and they need jobs. you look at unemployment for the african-american community, jesse, it's much, much higher than for the rest of the country. i mean, it's through the roof for african-american youth, it's 59%. i mean, truth is, obama has done nothing. in fact, he's been negative for african-americans. totally negative. and you look at this unemployment, the numbers, and a person who's 30 years old who is african-american, the numbers are much, much higher than his counterparts in society. so i'm going to do a lot for the african-americans and they are going to do a lot for me.
