>> if you are in midtown manhattan come, we will feed you for real. >> one minute after the hour. we do need to get right to news headlines on saturday morning. tragedy at a church carnival in el paso, texas. two teenage girls thrown off a spinning ride called the sizzler. 16-year-old dead and 15-year-old hurt but is expected to be okay. no word yet on what went wrong with that ride. this happens on the heels of a terrifying moment on a texas roller coaster when a boy's seat belt came undone earlier this week. thankfully no one there was hurt. and do you remember this? it was a close encounter between russian jets and u.s. navy destroy. well now the air show continues. russian fighter jet conductingner dangerous barrel roll maneuver within u.s. spy plane in international airspace

yesterday. it's the third i want with u.s. forces this month. russia now blaming us for this and says the united states needs to stop flying so close to its borders or use transponders. zika has now claimed its first american life. the infected man died from internal bleeding. zika is spreading fast across latin america and the caribbean that includes puerto rico where there have been almost 700 confirmed cases. columbia and brazil have both reported deaths from zwickca. however, the cdc says infections are usually mild and deaths are rare. actor will ferrell not expanding his portrayal of u.s. presidents. >> i'm entering the race for president of the united states of america. the field of republicans out there is so messed up, i figured it makes you miss me, doesn't it? >> after a fury of criticism, ferrell is now backing out of his role as actor and producer of

inside was like, quote, crossing the border. more political rallies in los angeles. supporters of democratic presidential candidate bernie sanders are set to hold a march tied to international workers day or may day which is tomorrow. including a show of force by union janitors who held a big rally yesterday. they say they will threp to strike if they don't get better wages and benefits. and on may day tomorrow, more anti-trump rallies with activists demanding equality for immigrants. police say they have been working with the organizers of these marches and rallies to ensure there is no violence. back to you guys in new york. >> thanks a lot, claudia. there has been violence. quite a bit of it. on thursday protesters tried to flip over a police car outside a trump rally and blocked roads trying to get in. that does cross the line between protesting and rioting.

>> donald trump almost didn't make it to own rally because protesters were outside blocking roadways. bring that video back again of the helicopter video showing ariel shots of how donald trump had to get brought in by the secret service. apparently they had to cut a hole through a fence and jump a barricade themselves to get in the back. is this any way to treat a presidential candidate? >> he made light of it then on stage saying this is what illegal immigrants have to go through when coming into the united states. listen to what he had to say about it that was not the easiest entrance i have ever made my wife called and said there are helicopters following you and we went under a fence and through a fence. oh, boy, it felt like i was crossing the border, actually. chicago, in los angeles. the l.a. riots. you see similar signs, individuals, where you have knocking over police cars, smashing police cars, flipping them over. >> look, people don't like trump, that's okay. you are allowed not to like candidates protest against candidates. what you are not allow to do do is block public access to the candidates. not allow to do commit violence, more than anything, not allow to do prevent other people from speaking. you have a right of free speech and so does. obvious question? where are the cops? why are they allowing one of their police cars being destroyed? i support the police. you can't allow if you are the police, you cannot allow a mob to wreck your police car? >> if it would have happened in los angeles, you would have seen full swat teams out. this is san francisco. >> would it happen outside obama speech say i don't like obamacare. do i get to block the route or tear up police cars? know would be in jail. >> if supporters were

welcome back. well, we just showed you the outrageous video anti-trump protesters rioting in the streets of california, smashing police cars, pelting them with rocks. so, if everyone is so angry, why is donald trump doing better than ever in the polls sweeping five recent states. here for debate omarosa. chuck fellow for the center national policy and president of solidarity strategies. nice to see both of you this morning. >> good morning. >> omarosa, when you see this type of violence unfolding on the streets of california, first of all, what's your general sense of it overnight as we're just watching these images come in to us. >> one correction, i am a professor of business here at howard. let you know that position is high on both sides. people with passion want to. do you have a right to protest we also have a freedom of speech. donald trump got up and was

able to deliver a message. i think it's important that we have both sides being very vocal so that they can have their issues heard. >> i'm sorry about that i didn't have my coffee yet so i said harvard instead of howard. >> no worries. >> it's early. does it help or hurt donald trump? going not general election, california a very liberal state. will we see more of this throughout the country as we turn toward the general? >> i'm not a professor at howard but i get to run campaigns for a living. so i will give the other perspective. i won't talk about policy or argue that point. what i will say just from running campaigns all over the country, i see an energy out there as omarosa said obviously on both sides. i think tremendously helps donald trump. i'm a democrat. few primaries left he needs to close this deal. i do think this tension is going to hurt him in the general election. a lot of this sun known and yet to be seen because donald trump is changing the way we do politics. we don't know how many new voters are going to show up. >> so many of us have been wrong this entire time.

omarosa, do you think this will be problem in the general? look at republican turnouts in the prime sear up 64% over 2012 levels. >> for me, it let's people know that his message is resonating on both sides. the protesters that we saw were very young. they were diverse. and many of them were representing anti-immigrants or pro-immigrant positions. and i think that that's one of the centerpieces of donald trump's campaign. he wants to shore up the border and make sure we are safe in the homeland. he wants to increase economic opportunities for very diverse group of people. so you hear these folks coming out. but when they become very violent, i think it's very dangerous because we do have the right to protest. we don't have the right to riot or inflict bodily harm on one another. >> chuck, what about the argument ted cruz has been making about violent protests over the month that he has created this environment of unrest and it's trump's fault? >> look, here i am defending donald trump but i will say this in his defense is that there is a lot of angst out

there. that's why you see the rise of like a bernie sanders on the democratic side. people want an outlet for their frustration. they don't feel like government is representing them. they feel like if you have a lot of money you will be fine. who is taking care of the average working family. i agree with omarosa that none of this should ever turn into violence. americans have ever right to let their voice be heard. donald trump rolled into san francisco and there was a protest. shock the world, right? it's not going to be like that everywhere. there is unrest being tapped. >> omarosa, final word on that. >> i think he has really tapped into a group of people who want to have their voices heard. you will continue to see the protesters. you will continue to see them out there. you will see incredible turnout of new voters who have never been a part of the political process. that's a good thing that donald trump is bringing to this race. >> omarosa and chuck, thanks for getting up with us early this morning. warning for millions of drivers your airbag may not be working. massive that recall you need to know about is next.

hey, hey, good morning. all campaign roads leading to indiana. we are now three days away from the critical g.o.p. primary. and senator ted cruz is getting a boost in the polls. >> who better to explain what's going on than our pal garrett tenney who is live with the very latest. good morning, garrett. >> good morning, y'all. ted cruz admits now that the g.o.p. nomination is on the line in indiana in a town hall with sean hannity yesterday cruz said that the path to the nomination will all but disappear for him if donald trump wins the hoosier state there are some encouraging signs though for the texas senator. in the most recent poll that came out on friday, cruz is leading with 45%. that's 16 point ahead of trump who has 29%. and ahead of kasich who has just 13%. but that bowl stands in stark contrast to nearly every other recent poll from indiana which have had trump leading by about a few points.

though with the endorsement of indiana's governor yesterday, cruz is hoping to keep that momentum going to tuesday. >> this primary is going to be decided by the american common sense of the hoosier state. and i don't think they're interested in some bully who yells and screams and doesn't have any real policy solutions. >> while many including ted cruz indiana decides whether he has the 1237 for the nomination. even if cruz wins the hoosier state at this point it went make much of a difference. >> i still think that the problem for cruz is that trump is going to be hundreds of delegates ahead. millions of votes ahead. he has more votes than romney or mccain did when they got the nomination. the point is, he is getting a lot of people who aren't republicans. is he getting democrats and independents who are coming to vote for him. >> if trump wins indiana's 57 delegates. it would put him over the

place. and now that we have surveillance video does that change any opinions? >> i don't think it does. as we were discussing it might have something to do with the last few texts that the boys sent their parents. one that immediately says that they're fed. that could be talking about a storm or having trouble with their boat. there is another couple texts that stop right midstream. and it was one of the boys talking to his mother about, you know, where he was going to sleep that night. what they want to do eat. some very mundane stuff it seems strange that he might be discussing that in the midst of a serious storm. all of a sudden it gets cut off. you wonder if maybe somebody boarded the ship, if something happened. you have to wonder about that. >> what do you think of the foul play side of this? >> maybe what they could recover off this phone. is criminals are usually stupid. which is why somebody can commit a crime and then take pictures of themselves and post it on facebook. perhaps they might find some photographic evidence of somebody else getting on the boat and that could lead them down another road. hopefully there will be some evidence like that.

but we won't know. at least apple is going to get involved. the chain of custody is okay because the court said the phone is going to go to apple and then going to come back to me. the other thing i thought of though, clayton, what if the parents are fighting because one of the teens caused the death of the other and perhaps there is some evidence of that. that could lead to a civil suit if not something worse. we don't know there could be a plethora or there could be nothing. >> also geo location on an i phone. how far out sea. looking for a boat, looking for bodies. investigators may be able to pull that data off there as well. >> absolutely. you have never know? jennifer, i would give u. the final word. >> i would say as you were mentioning, there is a lot of evidence that they might have gotten before they were done with the phone. before the battery died. there is a lot of apps that do things like trip logs things like that that save only on the phone there are going to be quite a few things if they can get the data off the data chip. we will see. could be interesting. >> jennifer, jonna thanks so

stuff. i'm dead set against mandate. if you want to buy it, go ahead and buy it. if a legislature wants to legislate it don't get angry at me. let's talk to the governing officials and make it happen. >> who is on that list of i don't like this? >> there are a lot of gun owners that are -- feel threatened by it for some reason they think they have to buy one. you don't have it? >> now. but of course they don't want -- they want to mandate. they don't think you should have guns. >> such a hot button topic. have a listen to what john has chimed in here. what's the possibility that this technology could fail in an emergency. a really good question because, some people say that, for example, in a heated moment, where you would need a gun, you might have dirty hands or sweaty palms and would it fire? so far, the technology proves to be pretty accurate. but we have yet to really test it for long period of time. >> interesting question. what happens if you decide to sell or give this to a family member? does the secret decoder ring and the previous owner's

like they have a personal relationship. i shouldn't say personal friends but they have a good personal relationship. so what you see top outside. donald attacking the establishment, attacking the rnc is not what occurs on the inside. he brought in man forth at his request.efort at his request. and he believes the donald does get 1237 on the first ballot is it is in cruz's favor. some polls have him up a couple of points. obviously we don't know what the mike pence endorsement is going to do if it does anything. but if he can pull out indiana and he can stay close and he denies donald on the first ballot, advantage cruz going

into that. because as, you know, cruz has a very very good ground game. that is where we are right now. it is interesting. this guy probably has the toughest job around. the republican party right now. this is civil war, deaf con three civil war. these guys are killing each other. boehner attacking cruz. lindsey graham came out and slammed trump after that foreign policy speech. some really bad stuff going on in an election that is winnable. this guy's reputation is on the line. a lot of people say he's not going survive this once this is over given the show that's going on now. priebus won't survive. but in the in the meantime he's got to bring the party together. >> hillary is running as basically the extension of the obama presidency. does she want -- >> great point i read a comment about this in the post.

one of the things was the economy. economic cycles run in seven year spurts, right? we're at that seven year spurt from the end of the recession in 2009, 2010 to now. it's been a weak recovery. we know that. throw in the fact we have a weak recovery with the fact that seven years usually is the end of the economic cycle. she's worrying she's at the downside of that cycle. first quarter gdp numbers don't usually mean it is going to be that bad for the rest of the year but it was lousy. i understand from my democratic party sources she is worried that this is the albatross. and it won't matter who the republicans nominate i believe. i think donald trump could beat her if this economy turns sour. you don't want the economy to turn sour. but that is what people vote on. they vote on the economy usually. >> and the new york post i write
