is not ready to support the presumptive nominee, donald trump. not yet. listen. >> you have said throughout this process that you will support the republican presidential nominee. now you have a presumptive nominee, donald trump. will you support him? >> well, to be perfectly candid with you, jake, i'm just not ready to do that at this point. i'm not there right now. there are lots of questions that i think conservatives want answers to, myself included, i want to be part of this unifying process. >> he says he's not going to support donald trump. he's the leader of the republican party. my question was why did he do that? why did he accept the invitation to be interviewed because he knew that was going to be a question? >> that's a good point. a lot of people have avoided that interview, they are not ready to answer it yet. i think it's 48 hours after something very monumental happened, still internalizing.

he didn't say never. i think questions conservatives want answers. s he's channeling the way a lot of people feel. we want to see where he goes. >> you are leaving out an important part and that is mr. ryan said donald trump has got to change his tone and he's got to change his tune. he's got to come around more the way the speaker envisions the republican party. donald trump not surprisingly issued this press release. he said i'm not ready to support speaker ryan's agenda. perhaps in the future we can work together and come to an agreement what's best for the american people. they have been treated so badly for so long. put them first. former speaker of the house blasts the current speaker of the house saying paul ryan made a big mistake.

here's newt. >> he's the speaker of the house. he has an obligation to unify the party and speak out and obviously he and donald trump are going to have disagreements. some of them they will work out. some of them they won't. that's fine. our constitution provides that speakers and presidents can fight, but i think he sends the wrong signal. >> i mean a lot of people agree with me. congress recon veens next week. some congress pmen coming out saying that this proves paul ryan is honest, courageous, putting the country first above partisan interests. then you have the flipside, the speaker shares in the unity responsibility. >> some are speculating he's giving cover to individual house members to run against trump if necessary. reince priebus, apparently there is going to be a meeting next week of the minds. this is also a process where

conservatives are going to try to keep pulling trump to the right and maybe that's part of what paul ryan wants. >> they are going to meet all next week and try to work it out amongst themselves. like we were saying, paul ryan was with romney and romney has been very vocal about his anti trump sentiment. >> sure. and donald trump has been very vocal about mitt romney when he ran for president on this show. he said mitt romney choked. >> the bottom line is the voters voted. >> you got to wonder whether or not -- they said paul ryan is not supporting him at this point. i wonder if it's sour grapes because of what trump had said. look, he's going to endorse him. he's throwing donald trump's party this summer but they are going to go through this little dance in the coming week. what do you think is going couldn't? donald trump is going to be joining us about an hour right now right here on "fox & friends." >> it will be the first reaction to those comments. we'll see what mr. trump has to say about it.

i want to bring you right now. we kbin -- begin in california with an insane car chase that was all caught on camera. it unif folded on the 91 freeway just behind los angeles. behind the wheel, a guy wanted for murder. it started in compton. during rush hour, officers had no idea what that driver would do next. he then stayed put in that car for two hours, so the s.w.a.t. team moved in, throwing tear gas into the car. the gas forcing the driver out. a k-9 dog then took him down. wow. made for the movies. overnight, spacex pulling off another incredible accomplishment. watch this. that flash of white, one of its

rockets landing vertically for the second time. that landing actually took place on a drone ship in the middle of the ocean near cape canaveral, florida. it can be refueled up and reused for a future launch. 8,000 people, imagine this, airlifted, from this massive fire that's been raging in canada. that wildfire is now larger than the entire area of new york city. thousands more people will have to be airlifted this morning in addition to the tens of thousands of others who have already been forced out of their homes. nasa releasing these images from space showing just how huge that fire is. a state of emergency has been declared. more than 1,100 firefighters are now fighting the claims on the ground with more crews trying to douse it from the air. we'll keep following that story. america's oldest world war ii veteran has died at the age of 110.

the party was staid, it was having a lot of problems, whether it was the right thing or the wrong thing, they weren't doing now and now the republican party is the talk of the world because there's no place and no party that's, you know, increasing in scope like we have. it's a big story. millions and millions of people have come into the party. and i have this. it's hard to believe. i doesn't bother me at all. >> i was going to ask you, the reason you're doing so well is because you're anti-establishment and the voters are getting behind you. >> many people think it's a good thing, but i don't. i think it's something that the party should get solved quickly and i know we're meeting next week. >> you and paul ryan? >> we're meeting next week. >> what are you going to talk to him about? >> i have absolutely no idea. >> do you know what day you're going to meet with him? >> i believe it's wednesday. it's a long time. to be honest. that's a long time. there are a lot of days before that. but look, my attitude is a lot of people say it's a great thing.

i don't necessarily agree, but i can understand that point of view. again, millions of people have come into the party and there's a reason for it. that wouldn't have happened if i didn't run, believe me. >> absolutely, mr. trump, we are 48 hours from a political revolution really. the republican party, conservatives didn't expect this. it happens. you are -- you will be the republican nominee. what is your message to conservatives or paul ryan who are still 48 hours from now wondering, hey, is he our guy, is he a conservative? what would you say to them as you outreach to them and try to unite everybody? >> well, i would say, pete, make america great again that's been my message from the very beginning. we have trouble. our military is being depleted, our trade deals are horrible. we're losing on every single deal we make. we don't take care of our veterans. we have problems on top of problems. my message has gotten across, whether it's on health care, repeal or replace obamacare. we have to do something with

common core, we want to bring education locally, get rid of common core. we have a lot of things, a lot of things that are very important. but we have to rebuild our military. we have to make our military stronger. that's one of the cheapest things we can do believe me. >> absolutely. it was this week that you suddenly on tuesday night ted cruz decided to drop out. is your campaign pretty much going to continue to operate the way it has with corey and paul manafort. since corey has been there since the get go, have you given him a raise yet? >> that's something i have to think about. i never gave that too much thought. i'm going to have to think about that -- >> get 10%. >> we have a campaign that's unified. we have two people that do like each other despite reports in the press. now they're starting to understand it. but we have people who get along. you know, we won indiana in a landslide. we won new york and pennsylvania and maryland and connecticut. delaware. rhode island. all these landslides and that's why people really decided they better get out.

a fox news alert. new chilling clues as the search intensifies for a cold blooded killer wanted for killing a mother of three inside the church. >> yeah, it's worst story. police say the victim received a creepy and strange message a few days before her death. >> fox 4's shannon fury is live

in midlothian, texas. >> reporter: we now know newly released documents show that police are looking at cell phone records and looking at missy bevers social media history. here's a look at the surveillance video, it shows the believed killer wearing police swat gear walking inside the church just before the murder. as police are following leads to find out who that person is, we know detectives took a close look at missy's linked in account. they say just three days before her murder, she showed a friend a message from a man she did not know and they both found it creepy and strange. police also found a deleted exchange with a man that started back in january. the warrant described their messages as quote, flirtatious and familiar and intimate in nature. the new search warrant refers to the ongoing financial and marital struggle between missy and her husband brandon. we spoke to him a couple of days ago as he left the police

a lot of the ladders over the years can deteriorate in dry storage. >> absolutely. >> that can be a had their can prove -- a ladder that can prove to be fatal. >> you have a buddy. >> proper footing is a must whenever being elevated off the earth. >> what if you fall off a ladder, and ainsley talked about head injuries. what do you do if you fall off a ladder, paramedics come. what's the first thing as a paramedic that you do as you come on the scene, see somebody who fell off the ladder and hit their head? >> i stabilize their patient, and check their mental status and assess their airway. >> do a neurological exam? >> a quick neurological exam, to see if they can respond to me. >> do you strap them to the board? >> no, not in new york city. >> why not? >> because over long periods of time you can have an injury from being on a hard surface. >> but you immobilize their neck. >> we immobilize the neck. >> show me over here. >> so you fell off the ladder, hit your head and neck. you assessed him.

now you're stabilizing him. >> not supposed to move them, right? wait for you to show up? >> yeah. we reassure them and speak. >> what's the danger of height? what's the danger of height? >> the further you fall from higher, there's a greater chance of you sustaining injuries to the head, neck -- >> what about broken bones? >> during the primary survey, yes, after i have assessed the mental status and airways. >> how about breathing? >> i would see that right off the bat. >> so if a loved one fell, we leave them there and call 911. >> call 911, but stay with them and reassure them and -- >> don't touch them and don't move them. >> you can touch, but don't move them. >> how about the spleen, how do you know if there's something not hidden? >> during the abdominal assessment i would say if there's pain or rigidity.

>> how about if it's a 300 pound man? can you lift any weight? >> yes, we do. >> what about when they get to the hospitals. >> we do more of a detailed physical assessment. we apply more interventions like ice packs, control more bleeding. >> what if there's a cardiac arrest or the person stops breathing? >> we do cpr and we ventilate the patient as well as applying the defibrillator and shocking any kind of rhythm we see. >> what do people do when they're falling? putting light bulbs in or changing the batteries in their smoke alarms? >> or cleaning the gutters. checking out a rattling sound in the central heating. >> let's see if he can get him -- if they're having an altered mental status? >> i make sure the -- if they're not responsive, you know, they're confused or not speaking to me i begin to ventilate them with a bbm. >> excellent work, guys. watch out for kids. they fall too.

he's accused of receiving donations in exchange for approving their building projects. now, perhaps the worst part of this all, de blasio has just hired two lawyers to combat the probes using your tax dollars. to be continued. the president of virginia tech university now reinviting "wall street journal" columnist jason riley to give a lecture on campus after claiming that riley had lied about being invited in the first place. well, riley says the school disinvited him over fears that students would riot because he's black and a conservative. >> liberals still think that's a certain way -- there's a certain way that black people should think of issues in this country. nowhere is that notion more vigorously enforced than on our college campus today. >> there you go. out of 40, only ten of them identified as conservative. and this is a last dance at a south carolina elementary

what's happening here at george mason when you boil it down, a group of left wing professors are hoping to make a political statement rather than paying the late justice the respect he desker --s. >> i'm told that only three were part of the law school. what are they saying should be done instead? >> well, the governing body is compromised mainly of faculty members but the main point, they want to turn down a donation that actually totaled around $30 million and it's the largest donation the school has ever received. it will open up countless doors for students. they hope to create a new center. it's really just a huge opportunity for the school. that's the faculty for the sake of making a political statement wants to turn it down. >> so the money some of which is coming from the charles koch

foundation so it's the evil koch money and antonin scalia is a conservative. what if he was a left leaning jurist, do you think there would be this protest? >> i have no doubt it wouldn't be happening. if you look at the resolutions they have passed in the last week, you will find as lloyd cohen said in "the washington post" these sort of resolutions, these allegations are completely baseless. they have no substance whatsoever. they are purely an attempt to attack a conservative justice. if george soros had sent in this money there would be no controversy at all. >> we asked for a statement from the president. agreement with his views is not the reason why we are renaming the law school for justice scalia. we are not endorsing his opinions. we are recognizing a man who served the country at the highest level of government for 30 years. ultimately, does the name stay? ten seconds. >> absolutely. the law school is committed to

with you, jake, i'm not ready to do that this point. i'm not there right now. there are lots of questions that conservatives want answers to, myself included. i want to be a part of this unifying process. >> i was very, very surprised. i mean he talks about unity, but what is this about unity? you know, with millions of people coming into the party obviously i'm saying the right thing. you know, the party was staid, it had a lot of problems. whether it was the right thing or a wrong thing, whatever they were saying wasn't doing it and now the republican party is the talk of the world because there's no place and no party that's, you know, increasing in scope like we have. it's a big story. millions and millions of people have come into the party and i have this. it's hard to believe. it doesn't bother me at all. >> geraldo, i have a feeling it bothers you. >> do you want my cynical -- >> cynical first. >> 2020, he sees donald trump going down in flames.

he's the heir apparent. he takes up the mantel. he runs successfully for the white house in 2020. that's my cynical political. substantively though, let's give the speaker the benefit of the doubt and let's say he's a sincere man. and no reason to doubt him. it shows that donald trump does have a lot of work to do to unify the republican party and to convince people that he's not a crazy person. let me tell you something that happened, i swear to god, ladies and gentlemen, this happened to me last night was my, you know, all the parents are there, a dominican family. they have been here. their child, 10 years old also, good friend of my daughter sol, the dad was out of town on business. she started crying, i'm told by the parents, went to bed with mom, why was she crying? she's of dominican ancestry, she is afraid that donald trump if he's president going to deport all these people. this is a citizen child, citizen parents, but my point is even

though he ate a taco bowl yesterday and i love the guy, there's no doubt but that hispanic people have been unnerved by the draconian nature of some of his immigration proposals. >> you look at a polls. i think a majority support the idea of the wall and other proposals that he's making right now. >> it is demographically impossible for a republican to win the presidency of the united states without a substantial percentage of the latino/hispanic population. that is ingrained in american politics. george w. bush won in 2004 with 44% of the latino vote. mitt romney lost with 27% -- >> geraldo, are you saying that donald trump is not going to wind up with paul ryan's endorsement until he changes his complete approach to immigration? >> all he has to do -- and that's an excellent question. you don't have to -- i have the special coming up about drugs coming from mexico on the weekend. there's no doubt that we have profound problems with the

southern border. dope is flowing across the southern border. to people who like me who are pro immigration reform, to deny that fact up we are being unrealistic and being false because we're blind to the reality of the problems with the southern border. but if i can, ainsley, the problem is when you say you're going to deport all of these families that have -- even if they have citizen chon people, something that will shatter american society. he has to say, we have limited resources in the federal government. there are some very bad people that are coming into this country illegally. let's use the resources that we have to crush the criminals. not juan and maria and not that little girl. he can do it. >> find hispanics that don't like each of the candidates for different reasons. look at hillary, she was in l.a. at rally saying i love you all like donald trump is saying. they have all the protesters with signing saying we only matter when it's cinco de mayo.

hillary, do your friends make $12 or $15 an hour? a group of hispanics not liking the other side. >> i believe that these heckler, demonstrators, the more aggressive they get the more they turn the people off to the process. the young people are the flip side of those doing the same thing even more violently against donald trump last week in cosa mesa. i think they have to cool their jets. i'm not offended by the mexican flag, because i'm not offend by the irish flag on st. patrick's day or the other flags on -- the israeli flag on israel day. what bothers me is the conduct and the tone. if they want to be never hillary -- >> this is what donald trump had to say about it. >> hillary is not a unifier. you talk about a unifier and i was actually not surprised to see all the protesters.

>> no. >> but you were so moved by it, you felt you should share the story. >> it was a family event. it was so important. when i walked into the police plaza in new york, i said this is really a cathedral of courage. i smelled flowers. in police plaza, there were dozens of bouquets of flowers. brought by fraternal organizations, regular americans, in honor of the fallen heroes of new york city and the smell of the day and the funerals of 9/11 came back to me. and so we were there to honor people like my cousin, sergeant patrick murphy, who was the emergency service officer. and detective joseph limn who was an air national guardsman who went to iraq and afghanistan three different times. and he was -- he got a purple heart, went back again and again and again and he was killed over there as an active police officer there. there he is.

so i saw the members of my family, my aunt patricia, her husband had been the chief of the department. the highest ranking uniformed officer in new york city. she gave up her two wonderful children, one lost in the line of duty. patrick murphy who we honored yesterday. and anne marie murphy who is a detective here today. and i thought about my own father who had been a police officer. and i thought about my brother christopher who had gotten the medal of valor in t police department. and another uncle of mine. and all of the families there. some whom i knew and i said to myself, the resilience and the ability to accept loss and the courage and the adaptability and the ability not to complain and go on and grieve and still love america and stand up for who we are, i said to myself i need to speak out about this. this is one of the great days of my life. out of this grief came this understanding who we are more

than i felt in years. i was so proud to be a new yorker. so proud to be an american. yesterday, to see the love, but also the loss and the ability to go on and to build and to do and to continue to protect us, steve. you met some of these people before. >> absolutely. absolutely. they're part of your family. and you're a family of patriots. and peter johnson jr. while not in law enforcement per se, you're a lawyer, however. you worked with congress to get first responders benefits. >> well, we worked on this show and i worked in new york with the survivors of the shield and they were represented yesterday. we made sure in new york that spouses of police officers could remarry and still get the pension. that they were psychological benefits for the children, college scholarships. we did all the things with mario cuomo a long time ago. but what i saw in the family of the -- a long time detective who lost his son, he was named to the holy name society. i saw a faith not only in america, but in god that was so

strengthening to all of us. to my aunt patricia, to my mother who had gone to brother's bedside when he was injured. to anne marie who still serves so well and to the memory of patrick and joseph limn and all of the detectives and sergeants, lieutenants and captains and police officers who died on that day and continue to die from 9/11 cancer diseases. policemen and women and firefighters and first responders are still dying from those diseases. from those horrible, sick, despicable people that did that to us. and that's something we can always remember and never forget. >> indeed. >> so i was so taken by it. thank you for giving me the chance to talk about it today. >> thank you for remembering your cousin. patrick murphy. >> thank you. he was a great patriot. >> indeed he was. coming up on a friday, the kentucky derby is this weekend, but do you have anything to wear?
