from what i said, and they put a negative connotation on it. they spun it where it appeared negative. i did not have a negative experience with donald trump, and i don't appreciate them making it look like that i was saying that it was a negative experience because it was not. >> you knew him very well. you dated him for several months? >> that's correct. yes, and he was never -- he never made me feel like i was being demeaned in any way. he never offended me in any way. he was very gracious. i saw him around all types of people, all types of women. he was very kind, thoughtful, generous, you know. he was a gentleman. he was a gentleman and -- >> "the new york times," this is a quote from the article, donald trump had barely rowanne lane when he asked her to change out of her clothes. true or false? >> false. >> what's wrong with that? >> i was asked if anybody would ask me, how did you meet donald

trump? you are going to get the story of how i was at a pool party at mar-a-lago with my agent and a lot of other people and it was a night party and i had a photo shoot that i had done all day and i had another photo shoot the next day, and i almost didn't go but my agent asked me if i would please come up and just enjoy for a while and i did, and i didn't wear a bathe th suit. i didn't have a swim suit. i came from a shoot like i said, and i started talking with donald and chatting with him over the course of the first maybe 20 minutes i was there, and we seemed to get along in conversation nicely, and it just very normally and naturally evolved into a conversation. we started walking around the mansion. he started showing me the architecture. we were having a very nice conversation, and we got into a certain part of it and asked me if i had a swim suit, i said i

didn't. i was not really planned on swimming. he asked me if i wanted one. i said okay, sure. and i change into one, and the part where i went back out to the pool party and he made a comment now that's a stunning trump girl right there, i was actually flattered by. i didn't feel like it was a demeaning situation or comment at all, and that's what i told the times, and they spun it completely differently. >> wow, why did they do that? >> well, obviously they feel like that they need to do something to make him look bad or go along with their article, you know. i don't know how many people have spoken out about it. i'm very happy that i can, because i have the right platform to do this. i don't know how many other girls feel like they were misquoted, but i know that for a fact i was, and i don't want that out there. that's not how it -- that's now it was. that's not how it felt, and it's

daily basis for the veterans? >> our program is feeding, feeding people, as a veterans service organization, we serve veterans, but also as a veteran impact organization, we also provide services that impact the community in which our facility is located. we feed hundreds of people three meals a day. we serve over 4,000 meals every month, and that's only our flagship program, and we also provide safe refuge and sanctuary for people in despair in our neighborhood under the safe haven program which is a designation we've received from the city of chicago. our center is in the crossfire of four gangs, chicago gangs,

while many people in the pundit class think the republican party is divided, the real division may be on the democratic side where bernie sanders supporters have launch their ownant hillary campaign. >> what i will do is make sure that somebody like a donald trump or some other right wing republican does not become president of the united states. if secretary clinton is the nominee, she will have to make the case to the american people. not to my supporters. >> "the washington post" claims that even clinton's allies aren't sure she's the best candidate for the jobs. that's embarrassing. here to weigh in is joe trippe. "washington post" headline is clinton's flaws, worry allies.

dems think she could actually lose. it talks about her poor showings with young women, untrustworthy. that's your standard bearer. >> what they lead with the story, she somehow has gotten 3 million more votes than bernie sanders and a million or so more votes than donald trump. all these candidates have these flaws, they are going to get matched up in the general election. she's running stronger than anybody else through these primaries despite all these stories. >> here's the thing, though, on the republican side, donald trump stands alone. he's about 100 shy in the delegate department. meanwhile, bernie sanders is not going quietly. he's going kicking and screaming. last time you had a contested convention, it did not end well for the democratic party, did it? >> no. every time one of the parties has had a contested convention

and a bunch of back-and-forth at the convention and anger and fighting it out on the convention floor, all three or four times, in modern -- since the 60s, whether it was democrat or republican, that party lost and it's the last one was kennedy-carter in 1980, it was just a -- i was on the floor. i was a floor manager or kennedy on the floor of that convention. you know, it didn't end well. carter -- reagan became president. >> listen, it did not end well at the democrat state convention in nevada over the weekend. explain what happened because we know that it got so contentious she call the cops -- they called the cops on the bernie sanders supporters. >> there was an argument over -- some 58 bernie sanders delegates were or potential delegates were disavowed because they hadn't registered as democrats in time

and about seven or eight clinton delegates were relegated to the sidelines and were allowed to be seated and they got into a big fight over this. the problem is -- regardless -- because it was rigged supposedly. i'm not getting into whether it was rigged. but the problem is, you know, even if you change that. if you seat the 58, bernie would have picked up one more national delegate. it was a big fight about not a whole lot. >> but the atmospherics show it looks bad. i've been to health carer hillary clinton -- hillary clinton rallies and bernie sanders rallies. i know that donald trump over the week said he won be surprised if a lot of bernie sanders people actually went to the trump column in november. >> no question about it. there's a lot of anger on the bernie sanders side among

we talked to one of the ladies who is in that article this morning and this is what she said about the piece. >> very upsetting. i was not happy to read it at all. "the new york times" told us several times that they would make sure that my story that i was telling came across. they promised several times that they would do it accurately. they told me several times and my manager several times that it would not be a hit piece. and that my story would come across the way i was telling it and honestly and it absolutely was not. they did take quotes from what i said and they put a negative connotation on it and spun it to where it appeared negative. i did not have a negative experience with donald trump. he was gracious. i saw him around all types of people. all types of women. he was kind, thoughtful, generous. he was a gentleman. >> this woman that was featured in this story and said to donald

trump brought me to my room and said try this bathing suit on. turns out the bathing suit she didn't have a bathing suit and there was a pool there. >> she was there and he said you want to get in the pool. i'm having a pool party. i don't have one with me. i have some. do you want to wear one. >> the story in the "times" is inaccurate. >> it's also kind of odd in they go back to his first wife saying she was working at one of the casinos. doing a great job for a dollar a year. i'll never have my wife do that again because all we ever talked about was work as if that's a negative story. a lot of people can relate to that. if you work with your spouse and you never stop working because when you go home i want to talk about softer stuff and we talked about how much the casino made and the issues with plaza hotel and they go back to a high

about possibly being on that list was not on the list that carson gave out. he said he wants the job. newt gingrich. >> if he asked me i will say i want to sit down and talk about it. it's not an automatic yes. you have to think through what does he think the job involves? if he can convince me that it's doable and serious and we would in fact contribute, we would be hard pressed not to say yes. >> the more you think about it the more newt gingrich makes sense in that he wants someone with experience in government and has a successful track record and never really been staunchly against trump or for trump but has been a fair and honest analyst through this entire thing. >> very smart person. >> that's unlike senator ben sasse from nebraska who has been vocal about how much he hates donald trump. over the weekend they had the nebraska state republican convention and the republicans out in his own state wrote a resolution condemning him because he's now pushing a third

"the new york times" told us several times that they would make sure that my story that i was telling came across. they promised several times that they would do it accurately. they told me several times and

my manager several times that it would not be a hit piece. my story would come across the way i was telling it and honestly. it absolutely was not. they did take quotes from what i said. they put a negative connotation on it and spun it to where it appeared negative. i did not have a negative experience with donald trump. he was gracious. i saw him around all types of people and women. he was very kind, thoughtful, generous. he was a gentleman. >> he was a gentleman according to her. what do you make of the "times" piece? >> this is an indication of what donald trump is going to be facing i think in the next six months and this is going to get pretty ugly from all points of view and deal with parts of his past he probably doesn't want to deal with. this is an example of somebody who clearly thinks she was

really was him and he apologized. it's kind of messy. all of that as far as voters, i don't think we've seen throughout this primary that that affects him at all. >> listen, on another channel they just played the sound bite times" story. and they say they stand by their story or the spirit in which she told it. it's their opinion of what she said in that story. so this thing is blowing up even bigger. the other thing is that it's amazing these stories are coming out now. you eliminate 16 people to become the presumptive gop nominee and all of a sudden the 1991 interview, the blizzard of women he's had interactions with back to his high school days in the early '60s going back to his father's relationship with women back in the '50s and '40s.

is timing convine ining coincid? >> no. the media establishment is now zeroed in because they see donald trump is the guy that is going to face hillary clinton likely in the fall. it is -- listen, he's got a rich history. he's been in the public eye forever as has hillary clinton. there are many things to talk about in her past as well that obviously one hopes it will be balanced in the investigative efforts. >> don't hold your breath regarding "the new york times" and that. it was politico this morning with an item that talks about how it sounds like donald trump is trying to exact some revenge upon some of the professional strategist and people like that who work on the republican side who came out very hard against him particularly the anti-trump people. according to this article it says that some of his aides are talking to rnc saying the

republican party doles out millions of dollars to these vendors and strategists and pollsters and they tried to kill our guy. let's not give them any cash. can you remember in washington when you have seen this kind of reaction in a revenge way for people who are out to get somebody? >> no. i can remember where one party has been this split up at least for some period of time and there are still parts of the party who are in the apparatus that are in the never trump camp even as trump is the presumptive nominee. so i think you're going to see more of this as we get closer to cleveland. this is going to be a big deal. money talks and they're going to try to prevent some of those people from being in the key positions. also look at the committees and who is on them for the republican convention. >> great point. >> a lot of cruz people are still in positions and they obviously were never trump to begin with.

>> very interesting. it will be an interesting tactical move by the trump camp. do you try to convert never trump people or punish them and alienate them. real quick. ben carson as times looks like he was heading up the vp search. now he's just one on the committee. it didn't stop him from coming out with a short list which trump has disavowed. former governor sarah palin. governor chris christie. i know marco rubio, donald trump says is not on that list. i can't imagine ted cruz being on that list. what about the tactic of telling everybody the top secret list? >> i'm not sure it was the top secret list. i'm not sure dr. carson had the full list and maybe he was referring to just some people who may have been on at one time. marco rubio has said no. sarah palin this weekend said she doesn't want to be considered. it would be tough to imagine ted

"the new york times" told us several times they would make sure my story that i was telling came across. they promised several times that they would do it accurately. they told me several times and my manager several times that it would not be a hit piece and that my story would come across the way i was telling it and honestly. it absolutely was not. they did take quotes from what i said and they put a negative connotation on it. they spun it to where it appeared negative. i did not have a negative experience with donald trump. he was very gracious. i saw him around all types of people. all types of women. he was very kind and thoughtful, generous. he was a gentleman. >> wait a minute. that's not what we read in the paper. >> this is one of the intriguing things about donald trump. one of the many intriguing things about him. what are we proving with that sound bite? that the "times" maybe misled when it came to this woman's story. but is there any dispute that

trump has used controversial language about women? there is not. there isn't. what does that tell us about him? that's in the mind of beholder. the campaign has said many times, look, women are not going to vote based on these words that he's used about women. they're going to vote based on policy and terrorism and based on concern about their kids and budget and the country. history has proven that's true. we've never seen a presidential candidate who has taken the risks he's taken and said the kinds of things he's said. so will that disapproval rating he has right now with women including republican women carry through or as they get closer to november, will they vote on something different? >> we do know and we all did this story last week about how "the washington post" has a team of 20 reporters digging up dirt and then this hit job pops up in "the new york times" which feeds donald trump has a problem with women. the woman says i'm going to vote

for him. i'm going to play one sound bite and get your analysis on it. cbs sat down with a couple of the reporters from "the new york times" this morning. played the sound bite with the woman and watch this. they are standing by the story as they wrote it. >> i interviewed her. i'll let her speak for herself. i think readers of the story can digest what happened to her in 1990. evening pool party and he asked her after taking them on tour if she had brought a bathing suit. when she said she had not, he opened a door of bathing suits and asked her to put one on. she did and he brought her back out to the pool and crowd and asked the crowd did they think she was a beautiful trump lady. i recall in my interview with her that she expressed -- she said i was taken aback by this. and i think that's how we depict

it. a vote for president is a profoundly personal one. we're giving the readers information they can use. >> cbs also asked the reporters why didn't you use any of the names of the women trump has helped over the years. they wouldn't answer. >> they do mention his one female top executive who has been mentioned in a few pieces. she's a powerful testament it trump in terms of advancement of women. he has his daughter in a powerful position. >> she's in charge of construction. >> at a time when no women were placed in that position and article talks about how trump's dad was, like, are you sure you want to do that? trump said i am sure. he's such a contradiction in that way. he's much more complicated than sort of what they would have you believe when it comes to women and other issues. it's not clear cut as either side would have us leavbelieve.

trump's allegations about hillary's past with women and the role she played in trying to diminish the ones who claim they had affairs or attacked by bill clinton is also relevant if we're going back 25 years on him and figure out what he did at the time, it's fair game for them, too. >> just one other thing regarding the women depicted in this story. this was 30 years ago when he was single. >> the treatment of women, the objectification of women. you make a lot of comments about women's looks. a lot of comments about women's looks. he makes a lot of comments about men's looks. he thinks you're gorgeous. >> right. "the new york times" did a good job on clinton cash. >> and benghazi. >> curious when the movie came out, i saw it the other day about clinton cash. it is going to one of those festivals to look at direct correlations between the

donations they took and places they got and influence that came. i'm curious to see now that she looks like the presumptive nominee if they'll be just as aggressive. >> the only solution is for them to be shamed into doing it. if they don't do it they need to be shamed into do it. otherwise they'll play into the narrative that people have and that trump has about them that they're not fair. this is all well and good. these guys are in the arena. they want george washington's job. we should be doing in-depth pieces on both of them. >> i want to get your reaction. president obama spoke at rutgers university at the graduation giving the commencement speech. this is what he had to say. cleefrl clearly a dig at donald trump. >> facts, evidence, reason, logic, understanding of science. these are good things. these are qualities you want in people making policy. if you were listening to today's

political debate, you might wonder where the strain of anti-intellectualism came from. the class of 2016, let be me as clear as i can. in politics and in life, ignorance is not a virtue. >> i know when he was talking about the wall he was taking a dig at trump. generally i think there were a lot of digs at republicans. >> the anti-intellectualism thing is so alienating. no reason to go there. that's a turn off to the people you means to convince. isn't the goal to bring more people into the fold and have them listen to you? as soon as you insult them saying they're anti-science, they're stupid, you think that encourages dialogue? the other thing interesting about the president's remarks was that he went off on cupcake nation. right on. i love that, too. the cupcakes at the

for the 33-year-old samantha broberg. she did a room by room search. they quarantined everyone in their rooms. on the intercom saying if you can hear us, you're okay. if you're okay, please let us know you're not in trouble. they determined she had gone overboard. the coast guard searched for about 20 hours and scoured an area roughly 4,300 square miles. about 200 miles southeast of here. the cruise ship does have video of her going overboard. according to a cruise ship spokesperson, she climbed up on the railing and then fell over backwards. now normally in a situation like this, the fbi is called in to investigate but that does not necessarily mean that there's any foul play. that's merely procedure. we're live in galveston, john donnalley, fox news. >> thank you very much. >> if they're video, any attempt to try to help her? is there a search going on right
