she's not part of the circus but she's taking a look at the circus that is the republican race. >> i need to go speak russian to those guys. >> i knew you were smart but wow. >> laura ingraham. >> i'll be catapulted by the campaign. hillary will jump on that thing and i'll go four stories up. >> what do you make of what's going on in politics right now? >> it's boring. nothing really happening. look, we have the hit piece in "the new york times." nothing surprising there. a guy who has a club down in florida who was either separated from his wife or single likes women. ooh. now "the new york times" does it front page. if you don't like the jet, don't go on the jet. i'm sorry. people know what time it is.
4:46 am
bill clinton actually raped a woman. hillary clinton set about to destroy the reputations of women. i tell everyone who is watching right now, go back and read the case against hillary clinton that was written in 2008. i just tweeted it out. it's more relevant today than it was in 2008 to read what the clintons did. the whole family drama using state troopers to facilitate trips. we're talking about a guy who was, oh, he kissed me on the lips. what? this is the most ridiculous it's laughable. >> i want to go back to the trump article in "the new york times" because i want to get your reaction to this. we interviewed one of the girls that was quoted in the article. she said they totally misquoted her and she likes trump and will vote for him. dated him for several months when she was 26 years old.
4:47 am
let's listen to the sound bite and get your reaction. >> it was very upsetting.appy t all. i don't know how many other girls feel like they were misquoted. i know that for a fact i was. they did take quotes from what i said and they put a negative connotation and spun it to where it appeared negative. i didn't have a negative experience with donald trump. weighs very gracious. i saw him around all types of people and all types of women and he was very kind, thoughtful, generous. he was a gentleman. >> so she said "the new york times" had an agenda. >> all of the news set to recycle. i think we go back to the fact that the obama/clinton economy has failed the people. "the new york times" throws their stink bomb out there. we'll see other similar things i'm sure. either this works the policy that they put together or it
4:48 am
didn't. what we see with revolt on the left and revolt on the right, both establishment republicans and democrats are being fired by the american people. they can throw all these little boomlets out there. it won't make any difference whatsoever especially given the criminal behavior. bill clinton was impeached for lying under oath. perjury. a federal investigation going on against hillary right now. >> that was only about sex. >> it wasn't. >> that's what they say. >> it was actually about women and how he treated women and his answers to those questions. again, i urge everyone to read that piece. case against hillary clinton from 2008. no right wing conservative by the way. >> they are trying to put donald trump in a category like they do all republicans. only a party for the rich. they want to hurt the poor when it comes to entitlements. no. i want to leave social security
4:49 am
alone. minimum wage, i'm not sure. maybe i would raise it up. it's really making it tough to attack him because he seems to be a guy that says i want to do what gets things done. >> people think washington is corrupt and it is. i live in washington. we talk about this. business is booming in washington because government keeps growing. outside of these little metropolitan areas like boston, new york or washington, there's a reason why east of the mississippi trump won pretty much every state. people are really hurting. this isn't working. globalization. open borders. public schools. overcrowding in school classrooms. people say donald trump -- you have to be kidding me. >> there's a brawl in las vegas as you know what's going on. hillary clinton, "the washington post," editorials, people getting nervous on the left she doesn't have likability to be elected. >> i have a lot of young producers that work for me.
4:50 am
a lot of them aren't that political. i can't even listen to her. it's like listening to decades past. the drama of the past, the sound of the past, the solutions of the past. none of it works. i think what happened in nebraska with ben sasse and what happened in nevada with the democrats, i think it tells you a lot about the anger and furry of american people. >> read about it at lifeset.com. laura ingraham, appreciate it. >> i won't be on tomorrow because i am on today. >> in person. >> isn't that fun. coming up, the up with and only mark burnett. we love him. he's here with his latest reality show. this time it's a dating show. plus, meghan kelly has a huge special with donald trump. she'll join us live with those details.

4:54 am
it's time to answer the "fox & friends" trivia question. pierce brosnan is 63 years old today. fox's newest reality dating show giving the latest the ladies choice. >> i'm waiting for that soul mate. i don't want to just settle for anyone. >> it's really up to girls to see if they want to take it further with you. >> it's raining men here. >> the show is called "coupled." follows 12 young successful women as they search for love in the backdrop of the caribbean. >> joining us now is executive producer of that show, mark burnett. why dating -- good to see you first. in case we don't have a chance
4:55 am
to talk later. >> normally we're here about the bible. i've never done a dating show before and i think it was time. i didn't want to do a show where there's a bunch of women that get eliminated by guys and if you don't get the right rose, you go home. they're beautiful and smart and successful. lives are great. love is missing. this is an extra thing and makes them empowered and women that have seen the show, love the show and the fact it represents women. >> everything you touch turns to gold. it premieres tomorrow night. i'm excited about this. it's something different than we've seen on other reality shows. what makes it so different? >> it's not one guy and 12 women. there's 12 women in a great resort but each week a helicopter flies in with a brand new guy. they immediately meet for two minutes and women can choose do
4:56 am
i want to get to know him better? >> you know automatically. it doesn't take a whole season. >> a guy comes in and gets rejected, he goes home, right? >> the women if they're with a guy and change their mind, the guy goes home and women goes back in the dating pool waiting for the next helicopter. >> i love that you give them a bunch of smartphones and whatever they text you put up on the screen? >> yes. we gave them smartphones. no one needs any instruction of how to text. it's now the culture. >> what makes you think america likes dating shows? >> the numbers have always been great. >> america loves love. >> everybody loves love and relationships. >> could you ever have met someone on a show like that? >> i'm married.
4:57 am
>> over on fox. it's called "coupled." thanks very much. >> please watch. he's out of money. he needs help. we'll step aside. bret baier and megyn kelly coming up live next from new york city. if you have moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, and you're talking to your doctor about your medication... this is humira. this is humira helping to relieve my pain and protect my joints from further damage. this is humira helping me go further. humira works for many adults. it targets and helps to block a specific source of inflammation that contributes to ra symptoms. doctors have been prescribing humira for over 13 years. humira can lower your ability to fight infections, including tuberculosis. serious, sometimes fatal infections and cancers, including lymphoma, have happened, as have blood,

good morning. it's may 16th. video shows what happened before a mother of four went overboard on a cruise ship and what is on that video has the coast guard calling off that search. "the new york times" says donald trump crossed the line with his former girlfriend. one problem that former girlfriend just spoke to us. >> it was very upsetting. i was not happy to read it at all. i don't know how many other girls feel like they were misquoted. i know that for a fact i was. >> she was misquoted. can you believe anything "the new york times" writes about
5:01 am
donald trump? we'll get a report and you will decide. >> play it straight. >> considered a front runner for trump's vice president. we're hearing newt gingrich isn't on that list. how could that be? is the list accurate? mornings are better with friends. all right. we're taking you live to cincinnati, ohio. take a look. 400 kids there in that auditorium and within the hour something very special and incredible is going to happen. >> can you believe what they're doing? thousands of cutting their hair all for charity all for a good cause. it's an awesome story. we're going to have them live on the show coming up. >> to honor breast cancer survivors and they're doing that as a tribute. those beautiful locks of hair will be turned into real hair wigs for people suffering from cancer. a great story that we'll be bringing. >> sacrificing that.
5:02 am
so wonderful. >> every monday at this time we turn to bret baier in the chair and that rhymes down in our nation's capital. hello. >> good morning. >> were you watching -- i know you know the story that "the new york times" put out over the weekend about donald trump and how when he was a single guy back in the '80s and '90s was around women. one of the women widely quoted, the swimsuit girl, she was on talking earlier and this is the shocking part. she says "the new york times" led her to believe it would be a positive piece. it was a negative piece and they misquoted her. listen to this and analysis from you. >> it was very upsetting. i was not happy to read it at all. "the new york times" told us several times that they would make sure that my story that i was telling came across. they promised several times that they would do it accurately. they told me several times and
5:03 am
my manager several times that it would not be a hit piece. my story would come across the way i was telling it and honestly. it absolutely was not. they did take quotes from what i said. they put a negative connotation on it and spun it to where it appeared negative. i did not have a negative experience with donald trump. he was gracious. i saw him around all types of people and women. he was very kind, thoughtful, generous. he was a gentleman. >> he was a gentleman according to her. what do you make of the "times" piece? >> this is an indication of what donald trump is going to be facing i think in the next six months and this is going to get pretty ugly from all points of view and deal with parts of his past he probably doesn't want to deal with. this is an example of somebody who clearly thinks she was
5:04 am
misquoted at least in tenor and tone with what she was telling "the new york times" and the fact she was central to that piece, they said they interviewed 50 women. they start with her. her story. that's a problem with what she said to you all this morning. >> she also said she was planning on voting for donald trump when given the chance. >> will this kind of thing hurt him or do you think the audience, the people out there, are smart enough to know when they read something like this that it's just all hearsay? >> listen, i don't even think it would hurt them if she didn't come out this morning. i think that donald trump has passed the point of his past being really a drag on him because he's now this vessel of kick over the table and both parties aren't working in washington. i think he has some hurdles to get over from explaining this stuff and the whole thing where he was the public relations guy and said it wasn't him and it
5:05 am
really was him and he apologized. it's kind of messy. all of that as far as voters, i don't think we've seen throughout this primary that that affects him at all. >> listen, on another channel they just played the sound bite times" story. and they say they stand by their story or the spirit in which she told it. it's their opinion of what she said in that story. so this thing is blowing up even bigger. the other thing is that it's amazing these stories are coming out now. you eliminate 16 people to become the presumptive gop nominee and all of a sudden the 1991 interview, the blizzard of women he's had interactions with back to his high school days in the early '60s going back to his father's relationship with women back in the '50s and '40s.
5:06 am
is timing convine ining coincid? >> no. the media establishment is now zeroed in because they see donald trump is the guy that is going to face hillary clinton likely in the fall. it is -- listen, he's got a rich history. he's been in the public eye forever as has hillary clinton. there are many things to talk about in her past as well that obviously one hopes it will be balanced in the investigative efforts. >> don't hold your breath regarding "the new york times" and that. it was politico this morning with an item that talks about how it sounds like donald trump is trying to exact some revenge upon some of the professional strategist and people like that who work on the republican side who came out very hard against him particularly the anti-trump people. according to this article it says that some of his aides are talking to rnc saying the
5:07 am
republican party doles out millions of dollars to these vendors and strategists and pollsters and they tried to kill our guy. let's not give them any cash. can you remember in washington when you have seen this kind of reaction in a revenge way for people who are out to get somebody? >> no. i can remember where one party has been this split up at least for some period of time and there are still parts of the party who are in the apparatus that are in the never trump camp even as trump is the presumptive nominee. so i think you're going to see more of this as we get closer to cleveland. this is going to be a big deal. money talks and they're going to try to prevent some of those people from being in the key positions. also look at the committees and who is on them for the republican convention. >> great point. >> a lot of cruz people are still in positions and they obviously were never trump to begin with.
5:08 am
>> very interesting. it will be an interesting tactical move by the trump camp. do you try to convert never trump people or punish them and alienate them. real quick. ben carson as times looks like he was heading up the vp search. now he's just one on the committee. it didn't stop him from coming out with a short list which trump has disavowed. former governor sarah palin. governor chris christie. i know marco rubio, donald trump says is not on that list. i can't imagine ted cruz being on that list. what about the tactic of telling everybody the top secret list? >> i'm not sure it was the top secret list. i'm not sure dr. carson had the full list and maybe he was referring to just some people who may have been on at one time. marco rubio has said no. sarah palin this weekend said she doesn't want to be considered. it would be tough to imagine ted
5:09 am
cruz being on that list after the end of the campaign and the lying ted thing. who knows. i think there are a couple others on that list from what i hear who are under consideration that is not the end of the list. >> newt has to be something in the mix. seems as though all indications are that he was on that list. >> i think there are people on it. i think dr. carson was making a statement that those people were on the list and kind of a side statement. you don't know. he has been plugged into this campaign since the beginning. >> ten hours from now bret will be back in that chair. probably wearing that neck tie and shirt. we'll tune in at 6:00 p.m. eastern time with bret baier in the chair. >> when we had donald trump on last week, he says he hasn't told anyone who is on that short list. >> what he did last week and it's brilliant. i'm not going to announce the winner until the convention.
5:10 am
it's just building dramatic tension. >> that was smart. >> doesn't stop him from releasing what would be a cabinet if he wanted to do that. he'll be on tomorrow on this couch. >> fantastic. all right. it's ten minutes after the top of the hour on this monday and heather has the news. >> good morning. good morning to everyone at home. a story that we've been following for you. really heartbreaking. the search for a mother who went overboard from a carnival cruise ship is now suspended. new surveillance video shows from the ship the woman falling backwards after climbing up to sit on a railing at 2:00 a.m. on friday. she was on the trip with a group of friends. her husband and four children were home at the time in arlington, texas. the ship is due to dock in galveston this morning. he is unapologetic and patriotic and unapologetic catholic and now conservative justice clarence thomas is warning millennials against getting caught up in social justice demands.
5:11 am
thomas speaking to liberal hillsdale college grads. >> do not hide your faith and your beliefs under a bushel basket especially in this world that seems to have gone mad with political correctness. >> he also honored his late friend antonin scalia saying that he was a man of values and traditions. a star on hbo's crime drama "the wire" found himself on the other side of the law. >> it ain't nothing like they make it out to be. >> hillary clinton supporter was arrested at an atlanta hotel after getting into a violent public argument with a bernie sanders reporter. the 52 year old allegedly pushed a man out of the way and grabbed the woman by the hair and hit her over the head. donald trump going back to his roots. he celebrated his daughter's graduation from the university of pennsylvania over the
5:12 am
weekend. it also is his alma mater. trump graduated in 1968. all front and center for the family affair. also in attendance, look at this. vice president joe biden. his granddaughter and tiffany trump graduated from arts and sciences school. >> they both have secret service protection. i wonder if they crossed paths? >> i wonder if all of the secret service got seats. >> if you're in the audience watching those families and not paying attention to your kid walking across the stage. >> $50,000, you would be watching the kid. >> do you have a job yet? it's 12 minutes after the top of the hour on this monday. "the new york times" says donald trump crossed the line in his reaction and interaction with dozens of women back when he was single. as you just heard, one of those women told us that simply is not true.
5:13 am
wasn't bad at all. >> very upsetting. i was not happy to read it all-. i don't know how many other girls feel like they were misquoted. i know that for a fact i was. >> misquoted by "the new york times." can we believe "the new york times" what they write? megyn kelly on that in 15 minutes. first our military and then our cops and now terrorists are targeting bill gates and warren buffett. we'll look at this disturbing plot and why this affects every single one of us. in a good, clean salad, every ingredient is the main ingredient. the strawberry poppyseed... romaine, mandarin,

beat yesterday with fenix 3 hr. from garmin. >> we > what they're trying to do is scare these people. they deal in terror. the big question is whether or not anybody out there goes that's a good idea. i'll try that. >> remember this is al qaeda. they have been phased out by isis. i think they want to return to relevance.
5:18 am
operatives have gone back to syria to join the fight against isis. he wants to back that up with his dramatic move to go after business leaders inside america. they have this magazine called "inspire." people have looked at it. the latest edition is they want to undermine the u.s. economy by targeting for assassination american business leaders. i quote one of the items here. the prophet ordered killing of many criminal leaders using this method. that's assassination by professional type lone wolf operatives. that's what they're going for. >> as you know better than most, most of the guys and women the powerful executives already security on their own. better security than in some cases the secret service provides. >> that's absolutely true. they know the threat. they know the threat from all sources. >> they are worried about their kids as well being kidnapped. >> that's all on the table already. this is an attempt to grab a
5:19 am
headline and put themselves out there again. al qaeda still relevant. we're coming after you in america. you business leaders to disrupt your economy. >> people wonder why should we secure the borders? this is why. to protect our individuals. our citizens. our business leaders. >> how about a wall. that's another story entirely. here we have a situation where we talk about muslims coming into this country and how we handle muslims already in this country and the whole situation is exacerbated by headlines of this type by this "inspire" magazine. that's the issue of the day. what do we do? this headline makes that even more important. >> stuart is going to be in charge of the channel over at fox business in 41 minutes. we'll be tuned in for that. >> i love how you put that. >> do you actually get the keys when you come onto the channel? >> it's more of a baton. >> it's a baton pass. flawless. seamless. >> you think you need a key to
5:20 am
run the channel? >> clearly he doesn't run this one. >> can i join this conversation at some point? >> why do you let her hurt my feelings like that? >> that's for giving me the sweater earlier. mass outrage over the president's plans to offer transgender bathrooms in all public schools and greg abbott joins us live with the plan to fight the white house's threat. that's coming up next. >> "the new york times" says donald trump crossed the line with dozens of women and you heard from one of those women who says it's simply not true. i was misquoted. >> it was very upsetting. i was not happy to read it at all. i don't know how many other girls feel like they were misquoted. i know that for a fact i was. >> what is really going on there. megyn kelly on that story and so much more. ten minutes. live on the curvy couch in the heart of manhattan. goodbye icky sunscreen.

no state in the union slammed the obama administration's new transgender guidelines more than texas. >> the entire policy is vague. it's also we believe unconstitutional because they don't have statutory authority to change the statute. that was done by congress. it needs to be changed by congress. this needs to be a debate in congress and not with the administration just unilaterally changing the law. >> that's what they're doing. texas governor greg abbott has vowed to fight the mandate saying the president cannot rewrite civil rights. a brand new book coming out this
5:25 am
week, governor greg abbott joins us live. >> great to be with you. >> what's going on with this north carolina thing and also with the administration saying unless states are involved in this transgender bathroom thing, we're going to withhold money? >> ironically what's going on is what i write about in my book. the way the constitution has been turned on its head. understand this. there's only one body of the three branches of government that can write the law and that's congress. congress has to vote on this transgender issue on several occasions and rejected it every single time. we have a president who decided if congress is not going to pass the law, he's going to impose the law. so the president is turning the constitution on its head and that's why i fought back when the president did the very same thing with regard to the immigration law. that's why we fought back when the president did the same thing with the obamacare law and now he's trying to do it with regard
5:26 am
to the transgender law. we're fighting back. we're demanding that the president and the united states hue to the line of the united states constitution. >> why is it happening now? >> it's happening now, i believe, because we are in the waning months of the obama presidency and he's trying to cram down as many parts of his liberal agenda on the united states of america as he possibly can. >> i think you're exactly right. it might be hillary in november. it could be donald trump in november. so he's got to do it now. >> people need to come to grips with this. we are at a constitutional tipping point in the united states of america. hillary is nothing more than an extension of the obama agenda if not worse because she's threatened to expand obamacare and keep our border completely insecure and the supreme court may be more pivotal than any other issue in this presidential election. if hillary is elected, it will lead to america taking a left turn from which we may not be
5:27 am
able to return. >> you have had such a dynamic political life and a law career as well. and reading your personal story in your brand new book, i know about the accident. you tell graphically what happened and, you know, talk about luck being in the wrong place at the wrong time for one second and that's your story. >> so many people don't know the fact that i'm even in a wheelchair. i was 26 years old and one day went out for a jog. i was jogging and a huge tree crashed down on my back fractured my vertebrae leaving me paralyze and forever unable to walk. i show that our lives are not defined by the challenges we face instead by the way that we respond to our challenges. i was able to piece my life back together and go onto become governor of the state of texas. there are millions of americans who face their own challenges. i want them to know whatever their challenge may be, they can
5:28 am
overcome that and achieve success and we must do that as a country also. >> you talk about how through physical therapy you changed your goals for life. here you are today. you have a brand new book. "the fight to fix a broken america." america is broken. you have great ideas in here. >> each branch of our federal government is broken because they strayed from their constitutional role. we need to get the country back on its constitutional design. >> sir, thank you very much, for sharing your story. have a safe trip back to texas. >> thank you. coming up next on this monday, you never have seen a shark attack quite like this. the florida woman who was rushed to the hospital while the shark was still clamped down on her arm. and "the new york times" says donald trump crossed the line with dozens of women and you just heard from one of those women who said the "times" story
5:29 am
not true. >> it was very upsetting. i wasn't happy to read it at all. >> so what is really going on here? we'll talk to that woman right there. megyn kelly. she's live and on the curvy couch next. i've just arrived in atlanta

"american idol" fox. that's how i refer to it. >> regarding the sit down. that started. you went over to trump towers because i want to talk to you about the show. >> i did. it worked out great. i wanted to put an end to everything that had a been happened for many reasons. i was happy to go to him opposed to neutral territory.
5:34 am
