>> looking at these obstacles here so much better than the electrical wiring we had to go through that one year and ice pool we were dunk in. >> i asked the producer at some stage may be be electrocuted. >> it's possible. >> good morning, everyone. >> we have plenty of news to bring you this morning. first up, anti-trump protests have erupted in california once again. >> police in san diego and beaten back with batons. meanwhile, donald trump spoke to thousands at a rally inside. >> garrett tenney joins us now from washington, d.c. with more on this. good morning, garrett. >> are not a pretty scene yesterday in san diego. going into the rally. police wanted to avoid a repeat of what we saw just a couple days ago in albuquerque. so from the get-go, there was a very heavy police presence there on the

ground. more than 1,000 protesters gathered outside of the arena, leading up to this rally. the group included a heavy presence of organized labor and immigration activists who carried a mexican flags. by the time the rally got out, a large chunk of protesters who had been mostly peaceful had left. while police did their best to keep the trump supporters and protesters apart. heated confrontation. in each other's cases and punches thrown. fighting off with batons as you saw. police in riot gear moved in. and when some of the protesters started throwing things at the officers. police declared the crowd was unlawfully assembling and started moving the crowd out of the area. some the demonstrators refused to leave and others staged a sit in along the trolley tracks nearby. in total, 35 people were arrested. we're told that there were no injuries to police. donald trump went on to praise the officers on twitter saying san diego police department fantastic

job on the handling the thugs who tried to disrupt our very peaceful and well-attended rally. greatly appreciated. inside that rally trump told the crowd of several thousand that he was going to make a run to win california in the general election and said he plans to take care of everyone in the country. the safest place to be in this country is at a trump rally. that, i can tell you. and we're going to take care of everybody. not just the people in this room, not just what the people in this room represent which is largely love, because it is love. >> it's all about love with trump. and tomorrow he will be here in washington, d.c. to attend the annual rolling thunder biker rally. he is off the campaign trail today though. anna, clayton, tucker. >> fantastic. garrett at the presentee in d.c. worth rolling back and taking a lock at the history of this.

people questioning whether or not there is a double standard where the left is quiet on this. where is hillary clinton coming out and condemning the violence. when we saw in chicago and midwest. she was quick to condemn them saying that he is to blame. listen to hillary back in march. >> mr. trump should not be urging people on. this is deeply distressing. and i think as the campaign goes further, more and more americans are going to be really disturbed by the kind of campaign he is running. >> so where is she now? why isn't she coming out and saying, hey, let's end this. make a call for peace and calm. >> flip it around. what if these were anti-hillary protesters outside one of her rallies. >> exactly. >> painting this like munich 1933. neo nazis. seriously a threat to the republic. people throwing things. what's the mexican flags for? what's the message there? the mexican government is superior to ours? that mexico really owns california? that trump is worse than

changed his mind four times in two days, change it a fifth time. you know, trump claims to be real tough guy, pushes people around. hey, donald, come on up. let's have a debate about the future of america. >> although this would have been epic, was it ever going to happen in the first place? and donald trump did a good job. he stole the headlines for another couple days and the guy talking about on the democratic side, the guy in the fight is bernie sanders and not hillary clinton, the number two guy that's stealing the headlines. >> that's for sure. not even number two in some states. the california primary is coming up in a little over a week on june 7th. hillary clinton should wrap it up today. looks like bernie could win california. in light the fact, millions of people still support bernie sanders. what does he movie about the issues? for example, venezuela, which has truly fallen apart. some reporter at downany vision asked him, what do you think of venezuela? it's socialism, it didn't work. what's your view? here is what sanders said. district a lot. in addition, she has been taking a lot of special interest money, a lot of corporate money and voting along their lines and certainly not in the interest of her own constituents. and that's on issue after issue. i first to the involved because of her vote to fast track the transpacific partnership but she has been cozy with payday lenders. ignoring the jobs crisis here in her district. we really need a full-time representative going to look out for real people and not just corporate interests. >> sounds like this race you are running proxy for the larger race going on in the democratic primary. you have been endorsed by bernie sanders very publicly in effect. it seems like she has put her thumb on the scale for hillary clinton as the chair woman of the dnc is that part of the reason people are mad at schultz because she is not a fair arbiter in this race? >> yes, i do think so. she does seem to try to fix things. you take a look at the super delegates and an awful lot of things have gotten attention, right?

the lack of debate that she has scheduled. when you take a look at the super delegates and what she has done at the dnc, i first started calling for her to resign as chair of the dnc when i learned that she had overturned the 2008 ban on corporate lobbyist donations to the democratic national committee and since then we learned that 60 to 706 the super delegates are actually corporate lobbyists so that really seems to be a fix. and very contrary to the will of the voters. and we see the same thing happening here in our district. just last week, one of her labor friends, named dan reynolds engineered an endorsement from the central labor council which violated the central labor council's own constitution. they are supposed to have a screening for any endorsement. they never had a squeak, never gave notice. and, you know, again it, violates their constitution and it disenfranchises the rank and file of labor. and now we learn that dan reynolds is a host of a

$5,000 pay gel breakfast that for was sermon schultz next week which will include super delegates. >> it sounds to me like for all the attention that we have paid to the republican race there is a revolution going on the democratic side where the anticorporate wing, which you seem to represent, seems to be gaining a lot of steam. do you see it that way? do you see it in larger terms? >> i don't. >> it's not just the democratic side. you see the rise of donald trump not just the rise of bernie sanders. there is a lot of political insiders and incumbents. it's been building for years. the incumbents entrench themselves. these are usually safe congressional seats when you take a look at the congressional map. 90% of the states is safe because of gerrymandering. >> tim kanova, great to see you. thank you for taking the time to come on. we appreciate it. >> thank you.

managing student debt. consider that. that put it in my head to move back up to boston and move mommy home. they have been super supportive. >> i'm deeply sympathetic to you. i have a bunch of kids roughly your age. this sounds like something you felt had you to do because the economy is so tough. how has that affected your outlook on politics? who are you voting for and does this situation affect who you are voting for? >> >> so i tend to swing liberal. and i'm supporting bernie sanders personally. and the reason being, i think we need more debt-free, higher education options in this country. i think this is a testament to the fiscal reality of being a nation that is $1.2 trillion in student debt. and i really, really support someone that is going to change that or make moves to change that. >> so if you didn't have student debt, do you think you would not be living at home right now? >> i think so, yep. >> interesting. >> that says it all right

steinle was allegedly shot to death by seven-time convicted felon on a pier last july, sparking outrage over the city's sanctuary law. the lawsuit partly blaming the city's family roomer sheriff who released a suspect from custody without notifying immigration officials. also blaming deportation officials and the bureau of land management because the gun used to kill steinle was stolen from one of its agents. new numbers now should shedding light on how much of your taxpayer money is being spent helping smug grers. the obama administration spending at least $18.5 million to fly children across the united states who have been caught crossing the border illegally. about a third of that money spent on charter flights for about 10,000 kids. they are all flown to facilities run by health and human service office of refugee settlement. seizing american flags from a world war ii vet. a city worker confiscating the flag from a michigan business.

dakota, numbers 1236 and 1237 that put trump over the top. now, device, i understand there was joist ling back jostling back and forth who was going to be the last one how did you do it? >> it was an interesting turn of events. i got the phone call from the associated press the morning we were on our way up to see mr. trump. and he said we're counting did he delegates. we wanted it see if you were going to support trump for president i said how many delegates do you have. i said let you talk to my friend ben he will be number 1236 for you. i will get back to you. >> you waited for ben to jump. in what is what the reason you decide to do go with donald trump. north dakota didn't have a primary caucus so they were unbound. were you getting calls from cruz camp along the way and others and what put you over the top for donald trump? >> well, i had been a cruz

supporter early on and up until the point when cruz suspended his campaign. and since then, there are v. been plenty of people from the donald trump campaign who had tried to reach out to me and asked me to switch my support. quite frankly, i had been holding out to get more details from the trump campaign. and to see where he stood on policy issues. with more specifics than he had offered prior. and so when they called me the day before donald trump was in north dakota and said we have 1236 delegates and we need one more, will you do it? and i said well, i have some questions. and they proceed to do do their best to answer my questions and then i agreed to do what they asked to become delegate number 1237. and i thought that would be exciting for north dakota to be the beginning of the process to stop hillary clinton. >> john, what put you over the top and were you getting phone calls over the past few months from a lot of different campaigns? >> yeah.

did i start to get -- it wasn't over the last few months. it was more recently than that. and did i get some phone calls and have some conversations with surrogates of the trump campaign and got the assurances i was looking for, particularly with regard to social issues. i did get the the assurance from number one, ben carson i spoke with i spoke with ivanka trump and i spoke with some other members of trump's staff and campaign and they assured me that the republican platform would maintain a pro-life stance, pro-marriage stance. and that was very important for me. that made it a lot easier. >> i want to throw this out to both of you guys can jump on it however you want. donald trump the past few months has called the whole system rigged and whole delegate process rigged. now that i won i'm not going to talk about the delegate process anymore it's a rigged system. i won so i don't really care anymore. what do you say to that? is the whole system rigged? >> i guess it depends on if you look at it from a more

traditional standpoint where the party was designed similar to our representative republic at the local level we have district conventions and those people elect people to the state convention and those people elect people to the national convention. these how it is north dakota. we go unbound but we go with the consent of those who elected us to do. that's traditional way of doing it more recent years it's turned into more of a primary process. if mr. trump had been favored by the former, then he probably wouldn't have liked the latter or vice versa. i think since he was attracting a lot of the people that maybe weren't traditional primary goers, you know, he felt that the primary system favored him. >> all right. ben and john, we thank you so much for joining us this morning. delegates 1236 and 1237 to put donald trump over the top. thanks, guys. >> if you have got one second, i have got one thing to give to john. and here is from north dakota. >> north dakota helping to make america great again, 1236 and 1237.

[shouting] >> hundreds of people clashed with police in san diego yesterday. they were beaten back with batons. meanwhile, inside, trump spoke to thousands at a rally. >> garrett tenney joins us live from washington, d.c. with more on that unrest. good morning, garrett. >> tucker, anna, and clayton. good morning. can you see in the pictures it got heated there at times. leading up to this rally, san diego's police chief vowed that they would not tolerate any sort of violence or law-breaking like we saw in albuquerque just a few days ago.

that's why there was a very heavy and visible police presence all around the arena yesterday separating the trump protesters and supporters. there were more than a thousand demonstrators at one point, including a large contingent of organized labor groups and immigrant activists. can you see some of those protesters tried to storm the police barricades at one point and clashed with police who were trying to keep them back. as the rally got out, police tried to keep the two groups separated and did a good job of it for the most part. some smokes were just looking to go at it. and go at it they did. that's when a massive police force dressed in riot gear moved in to clear the area and started arresting the protesters who refused to leave. in total, 35 people were arrestd unlike we saw in albuquerque, no officers were injured and there were no reports of property damage. last night donald trump praised the police department on twitter.: we

have seen a large contingent of the recent protests across the southwest include immigration activists. despite that inside the rally trump told his supporters ising going to do great with latino voters, particularly in california. >> we're going to do great with latinos because i'm bringing back jobs. the latinos, african-americans, we're doing great with african-americans. they want jobs. we're losing our jobs to everybody. we're being taken advantage of by the world. >> and trump is taking the day off the campaign trail today but tomorrow he is scheduled fullback here in d.c. for the annual rolling thunder bike rally to honor our veterans. tucker, anna, and clayton. >> thank you so much, garrett tenney live in d.c. >> battle neck in neck in california right now. bernie sanders says i'm not getting out of this. 2 points margin of error. that's why he wants to take on donald trump in the debate. >> he could win california.

nebraska. so many tornadoes, and flooding. this is the last 24 hours of the storm. a lot of it is moving away. weakening today. the last seven days. we are watching a weaker pattern that's going to be setting up here across parts of the plains. at least for a day or two. that said, we're going to see a little bit more rain possibly across parts of louisiana. take a look at these totals. over 19 inches of rain falling in two days in brennan, texas, break as record from anything have you ever seen. flooding is extreme. north of the houston area. seeing four to five hundred year floods to give you an idea. it's been incredibly tough one. here we go, across the carolinas. a tropical depression likely later on today becoming a tropical storm impacting coastal areas of the carolinas and georgia. mostly just a rainmaker as well as a lot of rip current. take a look at this though. one of the reasons we think it will strengthen into a tropical storm. this here is the gulf stream, guys. really warm temperatures right there. give you idea. image how warm those waters

[. >> crowds clashing with police in san diego, resulting in dozens of arrests. >> what is going on? garrett tenney has the answer. he joins us now from washington. good morning, garrett. >> good morning, y'all. the san diego police department did not want to have a repeat of what we saw in albuquerque, new mexico a few days ago when protesters overwhelmed the police, smashed windows, ended up jumping on some of the patrol cars. can you see in san diego policy not taking any chances and had a very heavy invisible presence outside the city's convention center where thousands of trump supporters attended a rally. outside, there were more than 1,000 protesters at one point, including organized labor groups and immigrant activists. most of them were peaceful, but you can see here some the demonstrators trying to storm the police barricades

and clashing with officers who had to beat them back with batons. >> then as the rally got out, police tried to keep the trump protesters and supporters separated. but some folks on both sides were just looking to go at it and go at it they did. when fights start to do break out, a massive police force wearing riot gear moved in to clear the area. and started arresting the protesters who refused to leave. in total, 35 people were arrested and unlike albuquerque no officers injured and no reports of property being damaged. last night donald trump praised the san diego police department on twitter saying fantastic job on handling the thugs who tried to disrupt our very peaceful and well attended rally. greatly appreciated. trump is making his way back east today. he will be here in d.c. tomorrow for the annual rolling thunder bike rally to honor our veterans bark to y'all. >> thanks, garrett. criticism this morning on the left. >> where is the left? the outrage we saw a number
