as fbi director comey suggested, he didn't say chicago specifically, but he said we're seeing it everywhere. go to facebook.com/thekellyfile. on twitter @@megynkelly. this is "the kelly file." here's sthaun. >> thanks, megyn. this is a fox use alert. welcome to "hannity." newt gingrich will swrojoin us just a minute. you won't believe what was caught on video at a trump protest. trump is holding a rally in sacramento, california. let's listen in. >> you know, four words, we're going to win in the north, south, east, and west. oh, boy. so insincere. number one, and i'll copy bernie because bernie's good with this. if i say it, they say, it's too rough. she's not qualified because she has bad judgment. now, who said that? bernie sanders said it about
10:01 pm
hillary. she's not qualified. so here is seven points that i marked down which i think are important and they talk about hillary and her incompetence. she's one of the worst secretaries of state in the history of our country. now she wants to be our president. look, i'll be honest. she has no natural talents to be president. this is not a president. they talk about me, actually a lot of people think i look extremely presidential. but -- but do you really believe that hillary is presidential? this is not presidential material. her libya invasion -- the libya invasion was disgusting. i mean, you know who has the oil? isis has the oil from libya. we went in, we knocked the hell out of libya. we did all of the things with gadhafi and all the -- we did great. she ends up with benghazi. remember the famous phone call? at 3:00 in the morning, she'll answer the call.
10:02 pm
guess what, she was sleeping. she was sleeping like a baby. don't wake me up. of course, she took the calls from her slimiy friends but didn't take 500 to 6 00 calls. they were calling and calling and she was sleeping and she did that phony commercial. remember that? that phony commercial. if the phone rings at 3:00 in the morning, well, it did ring a lot of times and she was sleeping. maybe it's no energy, low energy, right? she needed her sleep. she needed her sleep. so her libya invasion, decisions on syria, iraq, and iran have made the middle east more dangerous than ever, ever before. and you know that. she went to sleep when her ambassador was murdered and we talked about that. but she went to sleep. she wants to ship all of our jobs overseas. hillary clinton wants to make trade agreements that will take care of the rest of the jobs
10:03 pm
that her husband didn't take care of with nafta. we're not going to let it happen, folks. we're going to bring our jobs back. a big thing and a big thing for sacramento. another point. i said it before. she wants to abolish the 2nd amendment. never, ever, ever going to happen. and she does -- believe me, she'll say, i don't want to -- you look at what she wants to do, she wants to abolish the 2nd amendment. just believe me. she wants totally open borders. she wants a 500% increase in syrian refugees. now, remember this, folks, folks, we have no idea who the hell these people are and we all have big hearts and let's build some safe zones in syria, let's get the gulf states to pay for them because gulf states have a lot of money. we'll get it done. we'll get the gulf states to pay for them. i don't want to pay for them. we don't have any money.
10:04 pm
and then, of course, you talk about bad judgment. go ahead. thank you. >> trump! trump! trump! >> so you talk -- you talk about bad judgment. she broke federal law by putting her e-mails on a secret private server that foreign countries could easily get to and hack. i mean, folk, if anybody else but her did this, they'd be in jail two years already. i mean, honestly, she should not be allowed to run. it's a disgrace. it's a disgrace to the laws of our country. she should not be allowed to run. with that being said, i want to beat her, but she should not be allowed to run. so look, we are going to make our country so strong again. we have to. we have no choice. we have to. we're going to bring back our jobs, so important.
10:05 pm
our jobs are a disaster. we're going to bring back our jobs and we're going to bring them back fast. so what happened? you know, i won all those states then they said, i won't say who, because you know what, once you win you don't have to talk about them. a but a couple guys, one in particular said indiana that's going to be the firewall, indiana. well, i had bobby knight. once i had bobby knight, it was all right. bobby knight, what a coach. 900 games he won. 900. three championships. last undefeated season. he called me up, probably five months before i was going to run. bobby knight. great coach. great guy. tough guy. is he too tough? do you think he's too tough? no. we need toughness. and he said, you know, mr. trump, i don't know you, but you're the kind of guy i want to see run for president. this is before i decided to do it. it's a big decision. you know, it's not easy. believe me. it's a big decision. i have to deal with the scum back there that write all the bad stuff.
10:06 pm
believe me. they write bad stuff. they write really bad stuff. not all of them. some are good. so many of them are such bad people. they're bad human beings. and they're liars, okay? they're liars. but bobby knight calls me up before i'm going to run, he said, you should run. i said, coach, give me a number, if i do, i'm going to call you. i put it tin the bottom of my desk. i had a pile of papers a mile high. we won pennsylvania, we con connecticut, we con everything. a friend came in and he said, donald, if you could ever get bobby knight, i said i think i can. this is like a year later. and i said to him, bobby knight called me like a year ago and he said i should run. let me see if i can find -- i lift up this pile of papers and there's his number, like sitting there. that's better than having an iphone, right? that's the old-fashioned way. and i said, coach, coach, how are we doing against donald trump? he said, i've been waiting for you to call.
10:07 pm
and that was a week before i went to indiana. and man, was he good. he was great. and we just -- we won in a landslide. but we won new york, we won pennsylvania. we won connecticut. we won rhode island and delaware and maryland and then we won -- the last ones. i tell you, a special place for me was new hampshire because in new hampshire, i got to know the people really well. that was my first victory. i wasn't supposed to win new hampshire. jeb bush was supposed to win new hampshire. but he was -- you know, sort of his territory. he was supposed to win. i got to know the people, campaigned and made speeches. i sat down with people of new hampshire and i said what's the problem up here? they got some problems. they said our problem is heroin. i said, heroin? what are you talking about? he said, our problem's heroin. now, you look at the rivers and the trees and those beautiful roads and it doesn't seem -- they have a tremendous heroin problem. you have and every has.
10:08 pm
and it comes across the border. that's why. that wall is going to get built. and that wall is going to be so powerful. it's going to be so powerful. and don't kid yourself. you know, ask israel. do walls work? they work. just ask israel. i have no choice. have no choice. folks, we have no choice. you know, when i was in the debates, did i do a good job in the debates? you know, i think so. it toto todidn't know. all of a sudden i'm standing up there, remember, there were 17 people. 17. they had what they called a children's stage and the real stage. and every single debate i was dead center, right? and it used to bother me when we had an even number. i'd tell cnn and i would tell fox, i'd say, listen, i want to
10:09 pm
have odd numbers and they never knew -- when you have an odd number, you're in the center. when you have an even number, you got two guys in the center that's no good. i was in the center for every d debate. every single poll, online debates, every single poll of every single debate they said i won, i never did this, ted cruz was like a professional debater. you had all these people. i look so baforward to debating crooked hillary. oh, do i look forward. you know, bernie wanted to debate me. i don't know if he did or not. he wasn't trying to hard, i'll tell you. believe me, behind the scenes, he wasn't trying hard. to the media, he was, i want to debate him. behind the scenes, i'm not sure he wanted it. but bernie, in all fairness, i said, put up money to the networks, put up money for women's health issues in this case. and they're very cheap. you know, they want to make a lot of money, but they're not so -- they're not so fast with
10:10 pm
giving it away. but i would have liked it, but then i said, and somebody told me, said, look, the system is rigged. the guy is working hard. but his system is rigged. he can't win. you shouldn't be debating the guy that comes in number two. does that make sense? yeah? and the networks weren't coming through. but it would be a good spectacle. we'd knock off bernie then knock off hillary. i don't know. the problem is he can't win, the system is rigged up. it's all rigged up for hillary. let's see what happens. i look forward -- whoever the hell we have to debate. we have a country that doesn't win anymore, we know that. when is the last time, seriously, think about it. when is the last time we had a victory in this country? we don't have victories anymore. did you see our gdp? it's, like, almost zero. if that happened in china, they'd have a revolution. it's, you know, they get down to 7%, 8%, and they start devaluing
10:11 pm
their currency again. which kills us because they take our jobs and they kill our companies when they do that and they're not supposed to do that and they're not supposed to be building fortresses in the south china sea. they have no respect for our country. they have no respect for our president. they think he's a total lightweight. and now he's going to be campaigning. and you know what, he shouldn't campaign. he should go out and do the job that he's supposed to be doing, not campaigning. so we don't win anymore. we don't win with jobs, we don't win with the economy. we don't win at all. let me tell you, folks, and i mean this so sincerely. we are going to win like we've never won before. telling you. i'm telling you. we're going to bring our jobs back. we're not going to let carrier go so easily to mexico. we're not going to let ford build its plants in mexico and other places. we're going to say, folks,
10:12 pm
you're not going to close plants in michigan. i think i'm going to win gn f michig michigan. michigan is another one. they're saying a democrat will win michigan except for a problem, they looked at a poll, trump is winning in michigan because -- because for two years, they're talking about how michigan has been abused. that's why i won in indiana. i won indiana because for years, for years i've been talking about what is happening with indiana and certain companies and then all of a sudden, carrier says they're leaving and they fire all those people and those people used to attend may speeches like crazy, so here's the story. we don't win anymore. we're going to start winning. >> we're going to keep an eye on donald trump's rally in california. coming up we'll check in with newt gingrich here to weigh in on the 2016 race. plus tonight -- >> if -- if -- if we fall for, you know, a bunch of okeydoke,

just because, you know, it's, you know, it sounds funny. >> okeydoke. all right. the president can't quite get the words out when going after donald trump. newt gingrich will weigh on that, also the corrupt media and trump's attacks on hillary. later, doug schoen has a new article out thinking hillary may not be the nominee for the democrats and what happens if she loses the golden state. all that and more on this busy news night ton you owned your car for four years, you named it brad. you loved brad. and then you totaled him. you two had been through everything together. two boyfriends, three jobs... you're like nothing can replace brad. then liberty mutual calls, and you break into your happy dance. if you sign up for better car replacement™,

who likes jerry brown? anybody like jerry brown? because he just endorsed hillary. he said i want crooked hillary.
10:16 pm
i want that crook to run my country. a trump administration is going to make america work again. going to get word of the airport lines. we're going to rebuild our military. we're going to invest in missile defense. we're going to have new roads, bridges, infrastructure, all of that stuff. >> donald trump a few moments ago attacking hillary clinton at a rally in sacramento, california. joining us, co-author of "rediscovering god in america: reflections on the role of faith in our nation's history and future," former speaker of the house, fox news contributor, newt gingrich. he said -- you're smiling. he really went hard after hillary. she's knot presidential, low energy which is interesting, that she was asleep when the ambassador was killed and lied about it, bad judgment, broke federal law, nanybody else woul be in jail, a disgrace to the laws of this country and went
10:17 pm
forward with his agenda about building the wall, creating jobs, et cetera. it's a pivot. a big change, now he's going after hillary as he promised. how effective will that be? >> i think it will be very effective. i think if you really dislike trump, none of this has any impact on you. but for people in general, there's a rhythm there, there's a pattern, you got a guy who's very self-confi an opponent whoy unable to really do the job of being a candidate for president. so the gap between the two of them, i think, will get bigger and bigger. he is funny. it's totally unique. i mean, there is no model here. it's not ronald reagan. it's not richard nixon. it's not barack obama. it's not bill clinton. it is a donald trump unique, extraordinary experience. and you have to relax and take it for that kind of a unique experience. >> well, i'm going to get to the
10:18 pm
issue of what his agenda is and how effective he'll be and the promises he's making and running on which i think is still very conservative. i know you always say nationalist populist. i want to go over that in a minute. he's been taking on the media in a pretty profound way. back in 2007 and 2008, i said journalism in america is dead. i remember you were in one debate and said that's a mickey mouse question, for example. and, you know, it seems that people are getting it. we've got telemundo that is now -- has their camera guys choreographing news caught on tape. we got "the new york times" debunk story about trump and women. but they don't interview juanita broaddrick, kathleen willey and paula jones. then you got katie couric inserting eight seconds of dead air and including dramatic music to create something that didn't happen. so it seems like when he says the media is scum and liars, that's resonating because most people don't trust them.
10:19 pm
>> yeah, look, i know lots of reporters as you do. most of them as individuals are decent human beings. but almost all of them are on the left. i think sometimes that trump overreaches when he doesn't need to. all he has to say is, look, these guys are our opponents. these reporters are on the other team. this is like having a bunch of referees in the ball game who are on the side of the other guys. you know, go in and actually block, tackle and carry the ball. i think he can do it without some of the nastiness. the truth is -- >> i don't think it's nasty, but they're writing things -- if "the new york times" writes a story that you abused women and all the women in the story come out and they defend you and say that "the new york times" purposely manipulated your words, i don't think there's -- i think they deserve what they get. >> well first of all, that's not most of the reporters in "the new york times," many of whom i know personally, that's
10:20 pm
salsburger, the guy who's the head of the "times." what trump ought to do, if anybody had any integrity at all, they'd fire him. first of all, he's a bad businessman, done a series of terrible deals, gradually destroying "the new york times" and he's a -- they have to go straight at him. i know many people, you're the same way, sean, look. we both know really honest, really decent people who are in a larger world. now, do i think that the larger world's biased against trump? yeah. overwhelmingly. do i think it's a pretty clever tactic to take him head on? i proved that in 2011 and '12 when i did it. i mean, the country will side with the candidate against the media almost every time because it's such a huge, ji gigantic target.
10:21 pm
it's so pathetic and grotesque. the news media just can't stop and say, you know, he's a pretty good guy who did a pretty good thing for people who we really admire. no, this baloney. then they treat hillary as though she's a real person and serious person. she's saying, oh, the news media pressured him into doing it. she hasn't had a press conference in 180 days. >> isn't it amazing, it's almost a phenomenon between telemundo, katie couric and the other examples, "the new york times" debunk story then their choice of stories. they don't look into the clinton enabling question of women and smearing and slandering and besmirb besmir besmirching. everything backfires. you have the judge presiding over the trump university case. a member of la rossa. a group of lawyers. the race as you know. we find out the judge, the law

firm, appointed by the judge in the case to represent the plaintiff in the trump university case has another connection beyond donating $2,700 to hillary clinton. it seems that robert geller paid the clintons nearly a half a million dollars for two speeches. everything seems to boomerang back. i've never seen it like this before. it's hilarious. >> well, no, there's a reason. donald trump is the first genuine outsider in my lifetime to take on the entire national establishment in both the republican and democratic parties. and what's beginning to be obvious is it is establishment. by the way, it's a corrupt establishment and it's an establishment which pays off each other and it's an establishment with all sorts of inside deals. so what's beginning to come out is these guys are really sick. >> it's true. >> and trump is really different. >> and trump is exposing them. >> well, and part of it is not
10:23 pm
just trump, but part of it is that when you get into these kind of fights, any reasonable honest person says give me the details and you suddenly look and go, what? i mean, over and over again, you find that hillary's at the center of a cesspool of corruption which runs from the clinton foundation to the state department to the campaign ma sho machine in a way, frankly, in the tradition of the founding fathers is sickening. it is everything we had an american revolution to get rid of. >> you know, there was a rasmussen poll out today that 71% of democrats even if she's indicted still think she should continue running and trump on the honesty question beats her 2-1 and consistently 65-plus percent of americans think she's a liar, dishonest and untrustworthy. how can such a person win with those kinds of numbers? >> look, this is a remarkable

test of where we are as a country right now. charles murray at the american enterprise institute wrote an extraordinary book a year ago called "coming apart" and it's really about what's happened to american culture in the last 30 or 40 years. this is a great test of who we are as a people. are with now so used to corruption, so used to dishonesty, so used to all the different things that go on, that none of it matters anymore? this is -- this is baltimore. you know, the last republican city councilman in baltimore was 1942. and yet, you know, local politicians will blame republicans even though they've been in charge for 74 years. >> you're right. >> look at the south side of chicago. >> if we go four more years of obama which hillary represents, we'll get the government we deserve. it's not going to be good. we got to take a break. go ahead, final thought. >> hillary is obama plus corruption. >> wow. that's a good line. i wish i'd thought of it. can i steal that? >> sure. >> we'll have more with newt
