10:06 am
welcome to both of you. betsy, endorsements are supposed to help. is there any way in which can elizabeth's warren's endorsement of hillary clinton can hurt? >> the challenge is larger than before. she is a boost to clinton. that said, it is a weird point in the contest for hillary clinton. she is trying to court bernie sanders and prove to them she is serious on their issues while at the same time reach out to disaffected in the republicans. she has a site republicans against trump. and they are paying up for ads to send internet users and court this particular cohort of republicans. and it is dicey to si multianously reach out to moderate republicans and progressive democrats.
10:07 am
hillary clinton affiliated with elizabeth warren might not help that element. >> they are sometimes lukewarm about hillary clinton. and doesn't warren bring them over? >> she needs to unify her party around her and the presumptive nominee and get the democrats to support. you worry about the other stuff reaching across the aisle after the convention and later daechlt for now. go strong and get the party around the center. and donald trump is doing something similar on the republican side is. from there you go forward. elizabeth warren is a bon and should help get the bernie sanders supporter ares that are skeptical of hillary clinton by at least presenting a simple choice that hillary clinton would be better than donald trump. >> but by virtue of the fact that the endorsement is so late.
10:08 am
the barn door closed on bernie sanders and for elizabeth warren to come out and endorse hillary, like she is dragged kicking and screaming to the endorsement. >> it make its feel like an after thought. the reality is elizabeth warren is influential with democratic activist. it will carry weight. if she made it 5 or 6 months ago. she is more of a lagging indicator than a profile encouraged by pushing for the consolidation of the likely nominee or endorsing bernie sanders the way gabar and ellison did. the reality is, she's late to the party on this. and it was a missed opportunity to potentially have a larger
10:09 am
role in the democratic process. >> there is always talk about elizabeth warren being a vice-president nominee for hillary clinton. does that make sense? >> i think bernie sanders had a right to have a say on the future of this nominee process and some sort of say on the vp candidate. it is not likely bernie sanders for a number of reasons, but elizabeth warren attracts a more -- but elizabeth warren is attracting donald trump more than you expect. she is showing her chop and loyalty to hillary clinton and perhaps her usefulness as well. >> the twitter battles those two get into is epic.
