[gunfire] the ordeal unfolded after sean diamond started attacking his ex-girlfriend's car with a traffic cone before turning to rocks. that's when officers tried to stop them. diamond told them to shoot. he charged toward them and officer was force to do open fire on the man. diamond had just been released from jail for another incident involving ex-girlfriend.

the middle class is shrinking. to say that this economy is better today than it was when mr. obama took office is absolutely absurd to. say it's better than it was, for example, during reagan's time is absolutely absurd. you know, we can compare every democrat -- every republican to jimmy carter and make the kind of statement she makes, that's absurd. >> of course. it's a silly generalization that normal people scoff at. unemployment, uble key measure of not only the economy but of the country. here is a number that's distressing. 14,179,000 more americans are not in the workforce since the beginning of the obama administration january 2009. that's 15% increase of people not working. >> well, if you look at the unemployment rate and you adjust it for the number of people that have dropped out so that the adult participation rate was the same here today as it was 10 years ago, then the unemployment rate would be over 9%.

mr. obama's most effective jobs program is to convince people not to look for a job. we have 7 million men between the ages of 25 and 54 too old for college, too young to retire who no longer even look for work. that's a terrible situation. and, by the way the "new york times" annualized it, they are not home watching kids. >> that's the story of the decades. that's one of the reason life expectancy in groups have been dropping. if you listen to hillary clinton it's all about empowering women. we have a crisis among men, work crisis in this country and no one ever mentions it. why is that? >> we have he had carriage system that absolutely discriminates against males. high school dropout men for boys is much higher than it is for girls. >> exactly. >> university grants 60% of diplomas these days colleges and universities to women and only 40% to men. if it was reversed she would be screaming about discrimination. >> and rightly so. peter morici, thanks a lot for that always bringing in facts that are not in common

would settle here in the united states. that's before they sign up for additional programs like welfare and medicaid. joining us now with his reaction is former navy seal and virginia congressional candidate scott taylor who has recently been to the syrian border and a refugee camp there scott, thank you for joining us this morning. >> pete, great to be with you. >> you got it so what do you make of this -- of the amount of money that is spent per refugee and do you see a return on investment on that investment made in folks coming to the united states? >> well, let me preface it by saying, look, america, of course, takes in two thirds of the world wanted refugees. certainly by far the most generous country in doing that use our bully pulpit to make sure other countries does the same thing. the 20,000 doesn't talk about the homeland security and fbi and the state programs because what happens is these agencies that help resettle refugees, then they just sign them up for all these services and state programs help them out as well, too. there is tremendous amount of money being spent for taxpayers. and i think what's very, very important is

congressional oversight to make sure that we're not simply creating a market to incentivize and have people lobby for more refugees because they make financial gain which plures the line between humanitarian and financial gain. >> sure. each state could concealablably, the states with the most benefits attract refugees some payments that refugees can receive. 47% of them receive cash assistance. 74% are on food stamps. 56% on medicaid. 22% receiving housing assistance. i think these numbers will surprise a lot of americans, scott. i think a lot think hey, the benefit is being able to come to the land of opportunity like america. but they -- most people don't realize there is a lot of money that comes along with it. >> there is no doubt about it because, again, because there hasn't been proper oversight, you have created this market to incentivize agencies to bring. of course, folks are insent advised from other countries to come in and apply for other programs. they get the full frawl federal safety net whereas a legal immigrant who comes in

doesn't get that and obviously average americans that are hurting don't either. >> scott, a lot of people are looking for solutions. what do you do? do you block all refugees? how do you handle the ones that are here? have you been to the syrian border. >> sure. >> you have seen the refugee crisis first hand. what is the solution to this? >> well, let me say, pete, when you're talking about the syrian crisis, of course, and this is a problem with not just the administration but congress as well, too in terms of oversight of the program itself. but you have -- you know, you have our leaders that are dealing with symptoms as opposed to root causes. and when you look at the tremendous amount of money that's being spent to resettle syrian refugees here in america, you could help exponentially more folks over there. and i found out on the border, of course, and talking to refugees who want to go home once there is a political or a military solution to the problem. >> i have heard other people say when you actually ask folks from syria where they want to go, they want to stay where they are, but they are being told to go elsewhere. is that what you found as well they could be protected

and resettled in their neighborhood they prefer to do that? >> there is no doubt about it, pete. we have all been on extented investigations and want to come home to our own bed. not that they are on vacation. they have had horrible tragedy over there we should create a safe zone there when there is a military and political solution this crisis they could then return home as opposed to, again, we having a program that incentivizes refugees and created a market for that quite frankly as you said earlier in the program came um national security implications also have to be considered as well. >> scott, thank you for joining us this morning as your service as a navy seal. i know you are also running for congress. bringing a ground truth that race with what you know to the refugee crisis. scott, thanks a lot. >> thank you, pete. great to see you. >> you got it who are beyonce fans voting for in november? i mean, the world has got to know. jesse watters found out. >> who are you going to vote for? >> hillary. >> tell me why you like hillary.

around here. it happened just after 10:30 last night when christina grimmie was performing here at the plaza live. she had stayed after to sign autographs. that is when police say the suspect came up to her and just opened fire. that suspect shot grimmie. and that is when christina's brother wasted no time tackling the suspect to the ground. during the struggle police say the suspect shot himself and he was pronounced dead at the scene. christina taken to the hospital with critical juries but ultimately died. police have not released the suspect's name or whether the suspect has any connection to the singer. orlando police is having a press conference here at 11:00 this morning. so just about an hour or so. the police chief will give us more information on this. and we're hoping to learn a lot more about this whole situation. >> more details coming and we'll be watching it.
