the bfg. he performs the performance. they put dots on his face and they capture the performance and they build this 25-foot giant from that digital performance. it's insane how good it looks. you can see his eyes, it feels so real and photo realistic. i gave it a 4 out of 5. i think this movie and bridge of spies are the two best things spielberg has done since 2005 munich. i had a chance to talk to steven spielberg and i asked him a question about, if he directed this film in the '80s. how would he have done it. he would have used forced perspective without the cgi effects. what about directing jaws nowadays, would you use a cgi shark versus the animatronic one you used? >> i remember there was a lot of issues when you were making jaws with the shark. would you do a cgi today? >> yeah. it would have saved a lot of us

of them. there's a scene where she spits in his face. all i could think to myself, what's a good journalistic question. did she really spit in his face. i love the scene where you spit in his face. i have to know. did you really spit in his face? >> yeah. i said to him, i was like i don't have to spit in your face. no, no, that's fine. >> i could see him saying that. >> how many takes did that take? >> quite a few in the end. >> in fact, when i watched it, i was kind of like disappointed with how much spit there was. i asked david if we could cgi a little more spit in his face. i was like, ir kind of wish there was more spit now. can we add that in cgi and he didn't. >> those are the hard hitting journalistic questions you get from me, kevin mccarthy.
