sunday. the clinton campaign in damage control mode trying to contain the fallout from hillary clinton's highly anticipated sitdown with the fbi. good evening. i'm laura ingle in for harris faulkner and this is "the fox report." the e-mail probe appears to be winding down following hillary clinton's three-hour interview with the fbi. the clinton camp acknowledging voters may have an issue trusting the presumptive democratic nominee in the wake of this and other scandals. supporters making the rounds on the sunday talk shows saying hillary clinton is ready to prove herself. >> she understands she's got to earn people's trust.

she will work hard to do that. i give her credit for saying she's made some mistakes and she will try to show the american people she is going to work hard, especially for working families in america to earn their trust. kristin fisher is live with this. it seems everyone was talking about clinton's trust issues today. >> it sure did, laura. it is not just clinton surrogates talking about her trust issues. it's clinton herself an at the end of the week where there were three big event and every one called in her trustworthiness as a candidate. first the benghazi report, her husband's meeting with loretta lynch and now the meeting with the fbi. her trust numbers are 30% and 66% described her as corrupt. >> i'm going to continue to put forth my record, what i have stood for, do everything i can

to earn the trust of the voters of our country. i know that's something that i'm going to keep working on. i think that's a clear priority for me. >> clinton as a big week coming up. on tuesday, she will campaign with president obama for the first time and then on wednesday she will be in atlantic city, the site of several of trump's failed casinos to attack his business record. the clinton campaign is doing their best to try to move past the trust issues but trump and other republicans aren't likely to let it die anytime soon. >> the other big question, any update on when clinton will announce her running mate? >> several of clinton's possible running mates made the rounds on the sunday shows this morning. tom perez, sherrod brown and corey booker. listen to how booker responded when asked if he was actively being vetted by the clinton

chris christie, mike pence. and trump met with pence and his wife yesterday at a trump golf course in new jersey. the pence camp releasing a statement reading "they talked about policies that are working in indiana and the future of this country. nothing was offered during the meeting and nothing was accepted." . corey lewandowski, former campaign manager, talked about pence's odds? >> i think the vice presidential selection will come down to one person's preference, donald trump. he has a number of years of washington, d.c. experience. he was part of the leadership there. he has served as a chief executive of an important state, a state donald trump needs to win in order to be successful until the election. >> lewandowski was fired from the campaign and now more changes. bennett turned in to one of his

most visible surrogates and advisers is a former adviser, no longer with the campaign. >> so much going on this week. >> unpredictability. that's what trump does. >> the political insiders are ready to talk about this later this hour. >> always a good time on sunday night. >> it is indeed. a lot to get to this week. right now authorities are holding a tucson man without bond for allegedly threatening to commit acts of terrorism. targeting government buildings in arizona. will carr following this story from our west coast newsroom. do authorities think the suspect was planning these attacks specifically for the the fourth of july? >> good evening. authorities tell us they believe it is coincidence that this arrest happened over the holiday weekend. that doesn't mean they are taking it any less seriously. they say the 18-year-old has been charged with terrorism and conspiracy to commit terrorism.

the allegations against khan are for conspiring to commit acts of terrorism against government buildings in phoenix and tucson. his court documents have been sealed but neighbors say he lived in an upscale community in tucson, came from a quiet family and they often saw him running and biking throughout the neighborhood. the superintendent of a school that khan attended in 2013 said he had some behavior issues and his parents pulled him out of school after a couple of days so he didn't have to face disciplinary action. unclear we reached out to his current school, and unclear if he graduated or was still attending high school in tucson. he did appear in court yesterday and is spending his holiday weekend behind bars. >> how many domestic tror suspects have been arrested on this? >> well, this year not including khan's arrest, there's been four domestic terror-related arrests. compare that to last year. the numbers were much higher last year.

a scary scene in central park. police say a man could lose his foot after stepping on what is likely a homemade firework. >> heard some young men yelling. ran up the hill. came on their friend who was laying on the rocks and his left foot was severely damaged. assume they had been playing with fireworks but they claim they didn't have any fireworks. he stepped on something. >> reporter: you can see how busy it was too. police say there's no evidence

this was part of any kind of attack. now to the iraqi capital of baghdad where officials say a devastating car bomb attack killed 115 people and left nearly 200 wounded. kitty logan has the latest from london. >> the death toll has continued to rise throughout the day making this one of the worst attacks in iraq in recent months. the bomber clearly intended to cause maximum damage driving a truck of explosives in to a baghdad shopping center at a time it was packed with people ahead of the holiday. the buildings quickly caught fire, trapping many inside and huge blaze burned throughout the night. the attack happened just after midnight local time when people were out on the streets after breaking the daytime ramadan fast. as day broke, rescue, woers pulled bodies from the charred wreckage. it is thought many women are and children are amongst the dead.

isis claimed responsibility for the bombing. it said it intended to target shia muslims as it has done in the past. the white house condemned the bombing and said the attack will strengthen its resolve to fight isis in iraq. in the past few days they have been able to push isis out of fallujah but this bombing shows the group is capable of striking back and determined to do so. now it is starting to lose on the battlefield. there are fears it could increase insurgent tactics. there's been a rise in isis attacks in iraq in recent months resulting in mass casualties as we have seen today and isis has struck in turkey and bangladesh in recent weeks. >> thank you so much. someone making off with a truck that had $40,000 worth of

extra police patroling the streets of chicago this holiday weekend. in an attempt to curb an expected spike in shootings. matt finn reports. >> reporter: chicago's staggering shooting and murder rate is now at a level not seen since the 1990s. someone is shot every two hours, a person murdered every ten hours. and now comes the fourth of july weekend. statistically one of the windy city's deadliest. chicago police is heavily beefing up a patrols with 5,000 officers hitting the streets and expressways with help of the state police and fbi. active warrants are underway and will continue through the weekend. officers by land, air and boat will patrol areas considered

again. >> chicago police are stressing that the majority of the crime here in the city can be link to a series of repeat offenders. and today police announced a new policy that throws the book at those that keep pulling the trigger. in chicago, matt finn, fox news. two dozen people were taken to the hospital last night during a kenny chesney concert in pittsburgh. most of them were treated for intoxication or drinking-related injuries and a handful of arrests. one officer suffered a minor injury breaking up the fight. a 2013 show saw more than 70% arrested and 30 tons of garbage left behind. a search underway after a bit of an unusual robbery. someone taking off with a sem imf truck carrying 20,000 pounds of cheese. it happened where else but in wisconsin.

before break we were wondering how trump can capitalize off of what happened this week with hillary. how would you advise him? >> first of all, this is the greatest gift they can get. it is the gift that keeps giving. the whole week was great to show, if anybody looks objectively, this thing stinks to high heaven and a rigged system is what trump is running against and he needs to stick with that. it is rigged economically, rigged politically. and i'm the outsider and will clean it up. that should be his theme all the time. >> he has been tweeting about it tonight. what would you advise him to do? >> what john said i think to take this issue on about the corruption and this is a fixed deal at the moment is true. this week a judge gave permission to get the documents on hillary's appointments for the foundation.
