cincinnati. no republican ever won the white house without carrying ohio. carl, what is it like? >> we are waiting on a thunderstorm that will hit and cool down the trump folks that are waiting for the event that starts tonight at 7:00. ohio is important. and tonight, newt gingrich will be on stage. he is being vetted as one of the presidential picks and last night in north carolina, mr. trump had tennessee bob corker on stage. and moments ago, his campaign and his staff sent out a memo on his behalf and said mr. corker withdrew his name from consideration. joni ernst had a meeting and she's been slotted for a speaking slot in the convention now 12 days ahead and still under consideration for vice-president. in the meantime, gingrich is
10:06 am
being vetted, and this is a very, very big opportunity for him to essentially to debut p himself as a possible running mate for donald trump. likened to the show the apprentice. and puts them on stage and sees how he interacted and mr. corker took himself out of the running. there is a lot of people competing for this and at least two candidates that are vetted. chris kristee is gingrich. and there are numbers that it are talked about. and we expect trump to make the decision. we with are in a countdown to the selection and completion of the republican ticket. count bob corker off of it. >> i love the analogy just like the apprentice. carl, get the out of the wind. you will get blown away. so clinton is ramping up her

presidential campaign. p the president joining her in north carolina this time north carolina vouching for her trustworthiness. >> my faith in hillary clinton has always been rewarded and there is never been any man or woman more qualified for this office than hillary clinton. ever. and that's the truth. donald trump is firing back proving. saying it is reged. and they have a file on hillary. and she should not be allowed to serve as president of the united states. we know that she lied to the country when she said she did not send classified information
10:08 am
on her server. she lied. >> we'll talk with it moe lacy director for the campaign for hillary clinton. and director of georgetown institute of politics. mercedes is with us. fox news contributor and fox news strategist and former spokesperson to george w. bush. depending on who you ask, it was good news or bad news. she appears to be in the clear of the criminal indictment, mereddies, which is it? >> from the criminal stand point, i am sure they are relieved. there is political fallout. hillary clinton and her campaign lied time after time after time. she said she never sent is or
10:09 am
received classified. and she had those. and she said the server was less secure than a geelg e-mail account. it is why fbi director comey made it clear she was careless and gross negligence and put at risk our national security. and that's why hillary clinton is not qualified to be be commander in chief. >> partisanses, who don't like hillary clinton said she escaped, skated away, those who love hillary clinton are going to say, look, the fbi investigated and everything didn't find she had done anything that deserved indictme >> that's exactly right. if you are a republican and there are republicans out there hoping for an indictment as the

best bet to overcome donald trump's weaknesses, you are disappointed f. you are a democrat hoping that this would put political story to bed, you are disappointed. there is something for everybody. >> what about bernie sanders? >> he's not a candidate moving forward. but look, this is it probably the best situation she could have hoped for given where they were. she has a trust issue. and she's acknowledged that and acknowledged that it was a mistake. so she has now an opportunity to try to tackle the trust issue head-on. and her best bet to do that, look, fbi found that we didn't break laws but said we made a mistake. they are right. and i did make a mistake and i am very, very sorry for that and here as president what i will do
10:11 am
to make sure no one makes that mistake again. >> such is a huge mistake. let me be very clear. other federal employees are prosecuted for less than what hillary clinton has done. and comey made it clear that individuals in similar situations would face consequences like administrative or security consequences and they should strip her from having secret security clearance. they have done it to navy admirals who did less damage in exposing our national security. comey said no reasonable prosecutor would take up the case. there are plenty of prosecutors who could make it clear she could be proved with gross negligence. we should all be flabber greatested and a decloin of the rule of law and not necessarily confronting the fact that
10:12 am
hillary clinton lied to the american people. that's why she is clearly shifting gears and focusing on trump at this point. she's got a big road to climb in terms of getting the trust of the american people. >> moe, you mentioned in your earlier answer the fox news poll asked honest and trustworthy describe both presidential nominees. for clinton only 30 percent of the registered voters said yes. that is a record low. 66 percent said she's not honest. 34 percent for trump saying yes, if he is honest and trustworthy and 63 percent said no. clearly both candidates have problems in that regard. but there hasn't been an fbi investigation to donald trump that we know about. moe, go ahead.
10:13 am
>> you are right. she has an opportunity to take hers head-on. um a chance to try to make a out of this and didn't and stepped on his own story by accusing the attorney general of the united states of being bribed and accepted a bribe and praising the record of saddam hussein. elections are about choicing. and the way they are moving forward and connecting with people he keeps missing the mark and republicans are frustrated and she is taking the opportunities to connect with voters. we'll see if that continues. and that's where we are right now. >> a couple of experts on how to message the campaigns. >> and we want to hear from you.
