protest before it even begins. >> peter doocy is live with the details. peter, it's quiet now, but for how long. >> great question. everyone has been wondering that. the one thing we've been hearing about since we got here last sunday is security because officials and planners have to deal with threats from terrorists, potential dlal-style ambushes on police and also protesters. so now they've sworn in some temporary officers, 300 temporary officers from california and pennsylvania as backup along with 400 ohio state troopers and ohio university police, plus lots of federal authorities. thousands. there should be about 5,000 officers on the ground for the next few days. that is more than planners were expecting. 2,000 of them will have riot gear ready and there have been 170 demonstration permits issued. but it is the unlawful protests that have authorities concerned.

6:27 am
>> absolutely. hillary clinton's record she's been very weak on foreign policy, as has obama and -- >> this isn her foreign policy. >> americans want america safe again, that's what trump/pence will deliver as part of the ticket. we need to get a handle on immigration problems, restore national security and respect our law enforcement and empower them to do their jobs and protect second amendment rights. that is critical, part of the american fabric and constitution and those things need to be a priority again. >> capri, when you look at how the world right now, this is hillary clinton's, you know, her foreign policy reaction. >> i don't think you can blame hillary clinton for the entire global chaos that exists right now. >> how did she help it? >> obviously -- let me give you one example. nato is incredibly important and if you look at something like istanbul, where turkey obviously is a member of nato, if the coup

is successful, we need someone in the white house that understands the value of nato, the value of article 5 and what happens when a nato ally is in turmoil. that's one example and i say that simply because, while the law and order narrative of mr. trump and governor pence is important in this era of chaos, on the flipside people are looking potentially for consistency, for someone who has experience. >> they want to feel safe and right now a lot of people, francesca, do not feel safe. >> they could be looking in this election for leadership, someone who has that experience. of course mr. trump and republicans say she has bad judgment. she's had bad foreign policy but she did serve as secretary of state. >> right. >> she does have that experience and that's the contrast the clinton campaign is putting forward in this election. your tweets couldn't be more clear here. you either have you want to build the wall and that's how you think that you're going to keep out the terrorists and keep america safe or you're going to double down on the nato

6:30 am
of money on ads is going to help anybody, because both hillary clinton and donald trump are very defined in the mind of the american voter. >> francesca, you said a moment earlier and there's going to be a clear choice. >> i completely agree with that, and that's why donald trump has said he doesn't need to spend as much money on advertising as hillary clinton and we were talking about this before the show, but one thing is, the more money that she spends on those ads is more time she has to fundraise and less time she's in states like ohio and north carolina and some of the swing states campaigning, which could work to mr. trump's benefit is out there, having all these rallies. >> we have to end it there. ladies thank you very much. great chat here on the banks of the beautiful lake erie. coming up, some ohio delegates are threatening to walk out of the convention to stop donald trump. we have the latest rumors ahead of tomorrow's convention coming up. plus a black lives matter activist calls for chaos if trump wins in november tweeting "if donald trump becomes president, you are fooling
