i was surplied. a lot of the journalism up to now mike pence will be a narrowly appealing to the base. i think in this speech today, he alsoomplishes that as well. trying to unite the party in a time when let's be frank. yesterday was not great in the terms of the tensions we saw on the floor. but what better way to warm people up in the bit and share as he did some of the antidotes of reagan's humility and ability to touch people on a personal level which is what i think maybe the party needs right now as we go p forward. >> daniel, you said if trump and his team want to unite the party, they made big mistakes on day one? >> i think so. paul manafort is calling the

that will to be the convention. >> tony, a lot of people thought those protesting trump and upset about it. and he's won fair and square and sort of agains to sound like sour grapes. that is one argument. dew feel like that is the case now? >> i think to a large degree it is. i am sure some had conservatives don't have principles that donald trump holds. one is the power of the individual. over 10 million republicans voted for donald trump, most of any primary candidate to be the nominee. i understand that after 17 candidates went through the process, there is some devisiveness and to doug's point. i don't agree we should take on governor kasich and bush. they are welcome to the party.

they have an opportunity to november to help the trump ticket. i will say in fairness, a lot of these fights are isolated and being blown out of porportion. there are not as many divisive experiences as people thought may happen. and the greatest uniteded mechanism is thought of hillary clinton as president of the united states. >> there is two ways to look at. it. politicians get together and before trashed each other and calling horrific names and how it would be the end of the country and come together and put their arms around each other and one endorses the other. it feels insincere. do they hate or don't? there are those who stand behind their beliefs and never happy.
10:39 am
everyone is not always happy with the candidate up on top. >> i upon think what the republicans want and need, melissa, is the insincerity that you described to manifest itself and donald trump to give a speech where he said the man of change. this is a change election he has one asset. hillary clinton. and hillary clinton as one, donald trump. trump can change that on thursday night and a unique opportunities he will not get again until the debates. he needs to be on the side of american people for change and find jobs and fight global terror. then and only then we'll get movement in the polls in his direction be.
