and might be so in 2020. and if donald trump were president he would challenge the commander in chief. otherwise mr. cruz is banking on donald trump losing. staffers for a former rival for the presidential campaign, not cruz or trump's campaign. i asked them what they thought. when trump loses, ted cruz will be blamed. and that is to say potential candidates four years from now are are thinking that they are going to beat up ted cruz with undermining the nominee with the speech. that is a lot of delegates and republican pobas, congressman and senators thinking that ted cruz, charged with shutting down the government without a plan to reopen it.

obama care will mean for you you. and global and domestic security will mean for you. and talk about law and order. and as the speech was being written. some of the folks working on it suggested that there will be be aspects that will be so sweeping and elaborate in the reforms and type of conventions that could be brokening if donald trump believes current treaty such as naughto is not working for the american people, he's not afraid to make changes. it could be as sweeping as some of the ronald reagan's speeches when the cold war was ending and the soviet union was collapsing. they are taking certaining of the audience and recognizing this is an opportunity for trump to show what he stands for and lay forth the persona and candidacy and direction for the

yes, we deal with with issues at home and issues abroad. he needs to be careful to not sound like he doesn't know that. people will say he doesn't understand the presidency. the content and the tone is important. this has to be focused and disciplined. but it has to be positive. that's what analyst said so far today and any time a sitting president or candidate is trying to get people to vote for him. it is well to state your attention. and it makes sense and given the way he explained it, it is possible and this is someone who could do it. that needs to be a part of it.

at the time, you and your police commissioners took over in the bad p old days in new york city in the 1980s before you took over? >> absolutely right. we reduced crime in the eight years i was mayor 60 percent x. homicide by 65. and michael bloom berg continued and expanded the program. my other programs we used and he brought crime down to 85 percent which is astonishing. and we did it by backing our police. and making them proactive. now you can contrast us to chicago where they have three and half-times the murders of new york. we have the same gun control laws and so don't tell me gun control has going to do with violent crime. it doesn't. violent crim names don't register their guns. it is proactive policing that

reduces crime 65 and 85 percent. when you don't back your police and find them guilty before they have a trial and turn out to be acquitted like the police officers in baltimore. and you don't apologize, you create a terrible atmosphere and it comes from the top. right from president obama, who is quick to judge these police officers as guilty. a common criminal is innocent until proven get. if it doesn't change, you will see crime going back to where it was before i was mayor of new york. >> another thing in eric trump's speech. we are looking at donald trump now, taking to the stage where he will deliver his acceptance of the republican nomination.

michigan and wisconsin. do you agree with that? >> i think that is right. the larger problem is that he has to win states like north carolina and florida and virginia. large suburban populations that he is underperforming. the rust belt states are important and evident to support he is doing better with white working place democrat and lapsed democrats. he's doing that okay. but it is the large suburban areas that i worry about and it is reflected in the poll. >> penny, is colorado important and why is it going to hillary clinton? >> yeah, it always been and a bell weather state. similar to virginia in the past and a purple state. and democrats have consistently won it. many out of the last presidential contest and it is from the west, but it has

a suburban and interesting mix in the hispanic community. and when you have the comments that trump made in the hispanic vote, you are seeing the leaning to colorado, shifting to republicans, as they are finding the comments very offensive. >> and josh, when you look at the line up of speakers, pam bondy showing you how important florida is to trump. what is his odds of winning there? >> there is large hispanic numbers and you have huge media marketses and one thing about florida, you have 5 million a week television proposition if you want to influence the electorate and it is expensive and the demographics are not ideal. he's staying close in all of these states, right?
