country. my opponent called for a radical 550% increase in syrian -- think of this, think of this, this is not believable but this is what's happening. a 550% increase in syrian refugees on top of the existing massive refugee flows coming into our country already. under the leadership of president obama. [ booing ]. she proposed this despite the fact there is no way to screen these refugees in order to find out who they are or where they come from.

i only want to admit individuals into our country who will support our values, and love our people. anyone who endorses violence, hatred or oppression is not welcome in our country and never, ever, will be. decades of record immigration have produced lower wages and higher unemployment for our citizens, especially for african american and latino workers. we are going to have an

immigration system that works, but one that works for the american people. on monday, we heard from three parents whose children were killed by illegal immigrants. mary ann mendoza, sabine durden and my friend jamil shaw. they're just three brave representatives of many thousands who have suffered so gravely. of all of my travels in this country, nothing has affected me more, nothing even close, i have to tell you, than the time i have spent with the mothers and fathers who have lost their

children to violence, spilling across our borders, which we can solve. we have to solve it. these families have no special interests to represent. there are no demonstrators to protect them and certainly, none to protest on their behalf. my opponent will never meet with them or share in their pain, believe me. instead, my opponent wants sanctuary cities. but where was the sanctuary for kate steinle?

where was the sanctuary for the children of mary ann and sabine and jamile? where was the sanctuary for all of the other -- it's so sad to talk about it. we can solve this so quickly. where was the sanctuary for other americans who have been brutally murdered and suffered so, so, horribly? these wounded american families have been alone. but they're not alone any longer. [ cheering ]. tonight, this candidate and the whole nation standing in their corner to support them, to send

them our love, and to pledge in their honor that we will save countless more families from suffering and the same awful fate. we're going to build a great border wall to stop illegal immigration. to stop the gangs, and the violence, and to stop the drugs from pouring into our communities. i have been honored to receive

the endorsement of america's border patrol agents. and will work directly with them to protect the integrity of our lawful, lawful, lawful, immigration system. lawful. by ending catch and release on the border, we'll end the cycle of human smuggling and violence, illegal border crossings will go down. we will stop it. it won't be happening very much anymore, believe me. peace will be restored by enforcing the rules for millions who overstay their visas. our laws will finally receive the respect that they deserve.

tonight, i want every american whose demands for immigration security have been denied and every politician who has denied them to listen very, very closely to the words i'm about to say. on january 20th, the day i take the oath of office, americans will finally wake up in a country where the laws of the united states are enforced

we're going to be considerate and compassionate to everyone, but my greatest compassion will be for our own struggling citizens. usa! u usa, usa! my plan is the exact opposite of the radical and dangerous immigration policy of hillary clinton.

americans want relief from uncontrolled immigration, which is what we have now. communities want relief. yet, hillary clinton is proposing mass amnesty, mass immigration, and mass lawlessness. her plan will overwhelm your schools and hospitals, further reduce your jobs and wages and make it harder for recent immigrants to escape the tremendous cycle of poverty they're going through right now and make it almost impossible for them to join the middle class. i have a different vision for our workers. it begins with a new fair trade policy that protects our jobs and stands up to countries that

cheat, of which there are many. it's been a signature message of my campaign from day one, and it will be a signature feature of my presidency from the moment i take the oath of office. i have made billions of dollars in business-making deals. now, i'm going to make our country rich again. using the greatest business people in the world, which our country has, i'm going to turn our bad trade agreements into

great trade agreements. america lost nearly one third of its manufacturing jobs since 1997 following the enactment of disastrous trade deals supported by bill and hillary clinton. remember, it was bill clinton who signed nafta, one of the worst economic deals ever made by our country or, frankly any other country. never, ever again. i am going to bring back our jobs to ohio, and pennsylvania, and new york, and michigan, and all of america, and i am not going to let companies move to

other countries, firing their employees along the way without consequence. not going to happen anymore. [ cheering ]. my opponent, on the other hand, has supported virtually every trade agreement that has been destroying our middle class. she supported nafta, and she supported china's entrance into the world trade organization. another one of her husband's colossal mistakes and disasters. she supported the job-killing trade deal with south korea. she supported the trans-pacific partnership which will not only destroy our manufacturing but

will make america subject to the rulings of foreign governments and it's not going to happen. i pledge to never sign any trade agreement that hurts our workers or that diminishes our freedom and independence. we will never, ever, sign bad trade deals. america first, again. america first. instead, i will make individual deals with individual countries. no longer will we enter into these massive transactions with many countries that are

thousands of pages long, and which no one from our country even reads or understands. we are going to enforce all trade violations against any country that cheats. this includes stopping china's outrageous theft of intellectual property along with their illegal product dumping and devastating currency manipulation. they're the greatest that ever came about, the greatest currency manipulators, ever. our horrible trade agreements with china, and many others will be totally renegotiated. that includes renegotiating

nafta to get a much-better deal for america and will walk away if we don't get that kind of a deal. our country is going to start building and making things again. next comes the reform of our tax laws, regulations and energy rules while hillary clinton plans a massive, and i mean massive tax increase, i have proposed the largest tax reduction of any candidate who has run for president this year, democrat, or republican.

middle income americans and businesses will experience pro found relief and taxes will be greatly simplified for everyone. i mean everyone. america is one of the highest tax nations in the world. reducing taxes will cause new companies and new jobs to come roaring back into our country, believe me, it will happen, and it will happen fast. then we're going to deal with the issue of regulation. one of the greatest job killers of them all. excessive regulation is costing our country as much as two # --

$2 trillion a year and we will end it very, very quickly. we are going to lift the restrictions on the production of american energy. this will produce more than $20 trillion in job creating economic activity over the next four decades. my opponent, on the other hand, wants to put the great miners, and the great steel workers of our country out of work and out of business. that will never happen with donald j trump as president. our steel workers and our miners are going back to work again.

with each new economic policy, trillions and trillions of dollars will start flowing into our country. this new wealth will improve the quality of life for all americans. we will build the roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, airports and railways of tomorrow. this, in turn, will create millions of more jobs. we will rescue kids from failing schools by helping their parents send them to a safe school of their choice.

my opponent would rather protect bureaucrats than serve american children. and that is what she is doing. and that is what she has done. we will repeal and replace disastrous obamacare. you will be able to choose your own doctor again. and we will fix tsa at the airports, which is a total

disaster. thank you. thank you. we're going to work with all of our students who are drowning in debt to take the pressure off these young people just starting out in their adult lives. tremendous problem. we will completely rebuild our depleted military. and the countries we are protecting at a massive cost to us will be asked to pay their fair share.

we will take care of our great veterans like they have never been taken care of before. my just-released 10-point plan has received tremendous veteran support. we will guarantee those who serve this country will be able to visit the doctor or hospital of their choice without waiting five days on a line and dying. my opponent dismissed the va scandal. one more sign of how out of

touch she really is. we're going to ask every department head in government to provide a list of wasteful spending on projects that we can eliminate in my first 100 days. the missions talked about this for years but i'm going to do it. [ cheering ]. we are going to appoint justices

of the united states supreme court who will uphold our laws and our constitution. the replacement of our beloved justice scalia will be a person of similar views, principles and judicial philosophies. very important. this will be one of the most-important issues decided by this election. my opponent wants to essentially abolish the second amendment.

i, on the other hand, received the early and strong endorsement of the national rifle association. and will protect the right of all americans to keep their families safe. at this moment i would like to thank the evangelical and religious community, because i'll tell you what. the support they've given me, and i'm not sure i totally deserve it, has been so amazing and had such a big reason for me being here tonight.

it's true. so true. they have much to contribute to our politics, yet our laws prevent you from speaking your minds from your own pulpits. and an amendment pushed by lyndon johnson many years ago threatens religious institutions with a loss of their tax exempt status if they openly advocate their political views. their voice has been taken away. i am going to work very hard to repeal that and to protect free speech for all

americans. we can accomplish these great things and so much more, all we need to do is start believing in ourselves and in our country again. start believing. it is time to show the whole world that america is back, bigger and better and stronger than ever before. in this journey, i'm so lucky to

have at my side my wife, melania and my wonderful children. don, ivanka, eric, tiffany and baron. you will always be my greatest source of pride and joy. and by the way, melania and ivanka, did they do a job? my dad, fred trump was the smartest and hardest-working man i ever knew. i wonder sometimes, what he'd say if he were here to see this and to see me tonight.

it's because of him that i learned from my youngest age to respect the dignity of work and the dignity of working people. he was a guy most comfortable in the company of brick layers, carpenters and electricians and i have a lot of that in me, also. i love those people. there is my mother, mary. she was strong, but also, warm, and fair minded. she was a truly great mother. she was also one of the most honest and charitable people that i have ever known and a great, great, judge of

character. she could pick them out from anywhere. to my sisters, mary ann and elizabeth, my brother, robert, and my late brother, fred, i will always give you my love. you are most special to me. i have had a truly great life in business. but now, my sole and exclusive mission is to go to work for our country, to go to work for you. it's time to deliver a victory for the american people. we don't win anymore, but we're going to start winning again.

but to do that, we must break free from the petty politics of the past. america is a nation of believers, dreamers and strivers that is being led by a group of censors, critics and cynics. remember, all of the people telling you you can't have the country you want are the same people that won't stand. they said trump doesn't have a chance of being here tonight. not a chance. the same people.

we love defeating those people. don't we? don't we love defeating them? love it, love it, love it. no longer can we rely on those same people in the media and politics who will say anything to keep our rigged system in place. instead, we must choose to believe in america, history is watching us now. we don't have much time. but history is watching. it's waiting to see if we will rise to the occasion and if we will show the whole world that america is still free, independent and strong.

represented by the obama administration, saying he is their voice. >> talking about how he will be the voice of the forgotten men and women, and that the american people will come first once again. trump hitting on the biggest themes of his campaign, americanism, not globalism will be our credo. talking about how he, alone can fix what he says is a rigged system, repeatedly calling himself a law and order candidate, spending lots of time on immigration, free trade, and saying with him as president, america will be back. >> a couple of times, talking about hillary clinton. the crowd going into locker up. -- lock her up. he said no, let's defeat her in november. >> tucker, what did you think? >> there is going to be a lot of analysis of the style of the

speech. the length, the volume, etc., but i was struck by one thing. here is a businessman not running on a business platform. nothing about capital gains tax cuts, usual republican issues. you heard him attack corporations and as the voice of the middle class, he's not an idea log and he ended i thought the most resonating note of all. i love you. this is what this is about. it's a new republican party, win or lose, it is trump's party. it's a transformation. >> chris wallace? >> well, i think there are two ways of viewing the speech. the words of the speech we'd gotten them several hours ago. i thought it was a really strong speech. he set it up as a choice between change and the status quo,

regular folks versus the elite. i loved the line for the forgotten men and women of america, i am your voice, but we can't ignore the presentation, for some reason, he shouted the speech. for some reason, he said each word so slowly, it became an endurance test, in that sense, i think it was a bit of a missed opportunity. >> it was emphatic. i don't think anyone listened to this who expected there would be new material here that would cause conservatives who had their doubts about him and not prepared to support him say that i hadn't heard before, that is new, that is reason to rethink my position. what he gave us was the standard material we have heard from the candidate this far, can this speech carry him further? we'll have to wait according to the people on that. >> confetti is raining down.

balloons continuing to do the same. the crowd is starting to feel it a bit. >> his biggest calling card has been his family. and megyn, to hear ivanka introduce him in the way she did and see yet another child from his calling card, speak of her father in a different way than perhaps we have heard before. and say i'm not really a democrat or a republican. that is not how i look at the world, like a lot of millennials and offer an optimistic tone. trump was more forboding and hit, issues that are plaguing the country. it's such a contrast between the tone and approach. it's interesting. every once in a while, trump would slip back into himself opposed to the teleprompter

trump. >> that is the longest time he spent on a teleprompter. he wanted to get to that i'm telling you, i believe you. >> and a moment of humility there, saying the evangelicals, saying i'm not sure i totally deserved it. >> he did have specifics here. and in one sense, brit, i think is not hitting specifics laid out here. there was a historic nature of this, that is the lgbtq comments that were interesting in this audience. >> which the lgbtq community wanted and so, he did. what a night. what an end to a two-year run for president. >> listen, remember, it started in this arena august 6th, one year ago, the debate started the primary season. tonight it's official that he is

african american politicians vote against it. and hillary is against it because they're fought, owned and controlled. that is part of a rigged system, corrupt system. these children need a better education. and democratic politicians have sold their souls in order to prevent these children from having charter schools and choice. >> he made a strong case as it relates to crime about immigration giving out statistics about people losing jobs and numbers of crimes being committed. and educational system and so on, it seems the refugee, he talked about the police, refugee issue, safety, security of the country. you do not belong having that job. >> yes.

it's stunning to me listening to him is that he laid out his indictment of the deadening head of statism, leftism, socialism. i wrote my colleague tonight about 19772 years before she became prime minister, margaret thatcher thundered exactly this kind of speech about how statism was crushing great britain and stripping us of its greatness. she promised to restore it. i saw echos of that margaret thatcher speech. >> this is just a little over a year that he has been in the political arena here. it's a magnificent growth. laura, monica, mr. mayor, at times, i kept interviewing donald trump, he talked about energy independence and building a wall, and conservative justices, and going through the list that he's in the a

conservative. that was a conservative speech tonight. a conservative agenda. >> absolutely right and tremendous growth. >> he started off knowing nothing about politics. >> i think it drove you crazy at times. >> yes. he ended up giving probable hi one of the best accept stance speeches in modern times. and liberal media can't say he wasn't specific. >> he can and will because they lie all the time. >> they're part of the rigged system. >> those in it don't want this to be changed. i made a list, i was reading through the speech. he talked about trade and about the economy, energy, schools, police, infrastructure, and

>> as i do every election year, we've been friends 26 years now. at different points you show worrying concern and at one point, analysis is that he's got to grow into reagan or will be goldwater. where is he now? >> well, i watched the speech. and i wanted to see how often he deviated. about 25 -- >> i watched. and they're almost all right. they set the rhythm. this is the most-consistent, i said earlier today, either really well with melania's introduction but it was really short. this is the most-important speech of his career. this is the moment the entire country tuned in to find out who is donald trump. i think it will be powerful and

imgresive. >> if you're going to grade it? you used to be a former professor. >> maybe the nixon 68 acceptance speech, maybe reagan at his peak, that sort of thing. >> how does hillary respond to, i mean, at one point, concluding her legacy is death, destruction, terrorism and weakness. a very important issue. >> well, i think what he gave you is a sense of what the debate should be like. i mean, no holds barred. he'd go at her and state the obvious. i think in a debate for trump to say what is in the 33,000 e-mails you believe it, and one of our candidates, either. this is a unique character who does his own thing and brings to wear all of his life's experiences at every moment

mr. trump was the chief architect. i had the privilege of working with him. >> i think three things were done here. and frank luntz pointed out not one person in that undecided focus group, nobody now will vote for hillary and donald trump picked up a lot of people. one is that the prosecution of hillary clinton was made here and made in a very powerful way. second, the country has not been told the truth. we face enormous problems. it's not going to be solved by someone like hillary who is corrupt and has been there and failed and fourth, here is our vision and your choice. is that what you wanted to achieve? >> this convention, on the point made has succeeded in disqualifying hillary. morally, financially, economically. foreign policy wise, she's been disqualified on every possible level. another thing is that it said

i'm going to take it for the first time in your lives you're going to hear about what's happening in our country. then, he said here is what i'm going to do about it. >> and things are not good when 95 million americans are out of the labor force and tens of millions more on food stamps. >> notice he said these are the facts edited out of your nightly news and morning newspaper. you don't pick up your copy and read about the fact 95 million americans are out of the labor force and 43 million americans are out of the labor force. their not working is 58%. he said this is what's happening in your country. these are the people suffering in your country. and here is what i'm going to do to turn it around. >> i'm sure you're breathing a

sigh of relief. >> we're very pleased. we started this week, our goal is to make the point of, three points, really. we're talking about the fact that this is a change election and stakes are clear cut. then, we want to present mr. trump's vision for america now in that change election he was going to be providing solutions that are credible for not just a portion of america but the country. >> especial hi on hillary. one line i kept reading about how corrupt and how she failed in every way, etc. he went down every state and country and the condition before and after hillary. and it's a pretty dismal record she had. and i think that is what frank

luntz' focus group was saying. that case was prosecuted so well, not one person supports her at the end of the process. >> i mean, arguably she's the least-successful secretary of state in the history of the united states. if you look at the facts, looking at the world preand host hillary, you have to ask my god if she can cause that much damage as secretary of state, what will happen to the world if she's president? >> the line, death, destruction, terrorism and weakness. powerful words in 25 years she's been a part of the system. >> it will be interesting to see what stars democrats try to match with the trump kids, tiffany, don junior, eric,

ivanka play a powerful role. >> we put this convention together, mr. trump said i know there is a rule for people who are office holders in the party but that is not the kind of convention i want this to be. i want it to be broader. i want to have people who know me. the family. people who worked with him or for him and were not part of politics. he said two, i want people affected by these fatal policies. i want ordinary americans to speak to the country of personal experiences why there has to be a change. the program we put together provided that messaging and we feel successful at community indicating. >> are you hoping for a big campaign post convention? >> bounces are not important. the key is penetration of our message and our case. i think we did that. we may take a while for us to see that developed in the polls but we're doing well before we got here.

the american people understand and are still upset about that fbi investigation. >> 57% thought she should be indicted. >> so from our standpoint, we think the goal line is november. we're building towards that but feel this week we move the ball down the court. >> let's walk through the rest of the campaign into november. probably, obviously next week is a big week for hillary. you're happy with how yours went, then, where do you go from there? on the road? a lot more speeches? more policy speeches? anything more we can expect from him in terms of say, condensing that message into this is what we're going to do? >> we're not waiting until after the democratic convention. we're going to be in a number of states but probably start in virginia. and we're going to -- >> last poll i saw in virginia was dead even. >> we're ahead there now. >> okay. let's that is not the point. we're going to virginia because we want to go into the area

that, you know, the backyard of washington and want to start communicating a message of good luck but we're not stopping because democratic convention is going on. so your question, steven and mr. trump have been working on a number of policy speeches. we had to postpone speeches set to be given so we'll provide more understanding of what m trump's vision is and doing more town hall meetings. >> i hope the "hannity" program. >> always. >> two things i asked before the convention began, one, will mr. trump announce other prominent people before the election? >> it's possible but that decision hasn't been made yet. >> would he condense down into 10 or 12 items? ear developing

in the policy speeches. his vision, those speeches are given, will then, looking at september, probably put together something that is easily understood. >> what goes through the process of writing and putting together the speech that went on well over an hour in front of a crowd of tens of millions of people. >> i would note the speech set a record for most applause ever in a convention speech. i don't know the number. i said i don't think anybody but donald trump could have given a speech like that. >> the reaction was extraordinary. >> you have to understand mr. trump is involved unlike other candidates and campaigns in every single level of the speec speech-writing process and puts a tremendous amount of energy

into writing and going over it. it's his vision, his ideas and his words. >> is that the process? he hits down, you sit down and you start sculpting and playing out which way he wants it to go? >> i know there are candidates that can't spend any time on a speech. and unlike normal campaigns, getting handed a fully finished product and said here it is. practice. and that level. >> and this speech reflected his vision for america. and so did kids come to you and ask for help? >> it's amazing that kids in this family are so talented and the amount of energy is just impressive on many levels.

supported, not shut out. very powerful comments by donald trump's daughter, ivanka, earlier tonight, introducing her father. joining us now, from tennessee, congresswoman marsha blackburn, she also addressed the rnc earlier tonight. i mean, you know, for all the criticism and all the attacks donald trump and women, which i think is a false narrative to become with, but putting that aside, she just devastated that argument, and i thought really put it in perspective. if he hires women and pays them the same and takes care of women as he should, not obligated by the government, doesn't that speak for itself, actions speak louder than words? >> of course it does. actions do speak louder than words, and that is something that is so devastating to hillary clinton's efforts. she talks about it, but what has she delivered? and donald trump goes in, solves problems, after he's assessed the situation, and he delivers results and that's what the american people are looking for.

>> why are there still a few -- and i hate to ask this question on a night like this, but why are there still some angry, bitter sore loser establishment people that can't accept the fact -- the will of the voters? why are they like that, your colleagues, in other words? >> you know, i think there are some people who always think they're right, and they just can't get over the fact that there may be some people who do not agree with that. >> but do they not hear the exit polls? every exit poll, 65% of republicans feel betrayed. >> but sean, we go through cycles in politics. when reagan came in, it was a cycle. when newt took the house in '94, you had another generation come in. this is a generational shift. and you have different people, new people. this is the grassroots having grown up through the party system with the republican party, and now, the millennials have attracted their friends on the economic issues, and they are with us. they're with donald trump.

>> but you -- donald trump, i would always ask, about the penny plan, and he likes the idea. but he wants to spend more money on the military. but he likes the idea of government eliminating baseline budgeting, cutting a penny out of every dollar they spend every year and you do it for six years, you balance the budget. your plan actually takes it a step further than the penny plan. >> right. it's the 1%, which is in essence the penny plan, but here's the deal with that. if you do a 1% across the board cut in discretionary spending, and implement zero base to budgeting, and then they have to justify that what they're going to get, each department on the front end, then you engage the rank and file employee, and this is where donald trump will have a significant impact. donald junior -- >> i've got to go, you support him wholly if and fully? do you think he's going to win? >> absolutely. >> good to see you. you're on fox and friends tomorrow morning. say hi for me.

we usually have smaller kids, we feel protective like we did over the obama girls, but here's a family that's going to immediately, they're already serving as role models for so many in the country. ivanka is businesswoman and a mother. i hear from people that say, i want to be like her. >> you and i were sitting next to each other watching her speak tonight and we just kept going back and forth. it got better and better. and that's pretty much it. what a strong advocate for her father, who gets attacked on issues. it wouldn't matter who the republican nominee, they're going to be labeled racist, sexist, anti-gay and people that want to destroy the earth and environment. but she took those arguments, just shattered them. >> and she reminded people that her father was appointing women to top positions back in the '80s when that wasn't really common, in the '80s in new york, it wasn't as progressive as we think it might have been. remember his chief lawyer in the '80s was a woman, the chief

contractor on trump tower was a woman. >> and you're friends with carrie, and she came on at the time "the new york times" tried to make that hit piece on him and she just shattered that and says, you're lying and manipulating as did every other woman in that piece. >> so every single person who knows that story should contrast that with what we see every day in the press about donald trump and say, oh, you know, if that whole piece was just a trash piece, then is it possible that most of the other things we think we know about donald trump -- and here's another thing, sean. >> do you think that backfired and helped him? >> i think it did and i think it will as he continues to be supported by more and more women for trump but i also think that ivanka said tonight, the only thing i wish she could have said was that hillary, you have to remember, has never created a single job in her life. >> i can't think of one thing successful she's done and donald trump made ag case against her. he prosecuted the case very powerfully. guys, great to see you again, you've been with us a lot this
