[gunfire] >> 27 people were injured in that attack and no group has claimed responsibility for just yet. katie logan is live in london with all the breaking details on this. good morning, katie. >> good morning. police have updated us in the last few minutes this young man was born in munich. his body was found half a mile from the shooting. overnight police have raided his apartment. they are trying to learn more about his motive. not clear on what that is yes, sir. he wasn't previously known to police. but authorities now confirm this morning that they still have no reason to suspect islamic extremism. now, in this eyewitness video you are about to see,

we hear supposed the suspect shout out i'm german, i'm from here after he gets abuse from the people filming this on the balcony calling him a foreigner. is he then seen to load a pistol and fire it police say he began to deadly rampage in a fast food restaurant. he quickly moved on to a busy shopping mall. you see people fleeing in panic from that. now, the shooter also fled the scene and for a while police had no idea where he was. they immediately started a massive manhunt on rumors of multiple shooters on the roof. it turned out there was one shooter and once the police were certain he was dead, they were able to open up the city's transport system and tell people it was safe to get back on the streets. now in munich today police are trying to reassure the public but, of course, there still many questions still

when they give a speech. because they don't have the mega phone that they used to. donald trump may have reassured some conservatives. he may have made some good steps somewhere along the way at the convention, threw away some of it with a press conference yesterday. but i don't expect a big bounce in either direction coming out of these conventions. >> jim, bounce? >> the interesting part was mitt romney got no bounce last time and barack obama actually got about a 3 point bounce last time. i expect to see it but the truth of the matter is you're not going it really know what it is until after the democratic convention because these things happen so quick and until about the first, second week in august and the interesting part is, too, is basically most of the polls were showing going into the convention the race was a dead heat. dead heat nationally and dead heat in most of the swing states. >> does that change, dead heat narrative going into the convention. does he get a bounce? >> i don't know what y'all watching no outreach to

expand the community. he mentioned the lbgtq community latino community outreach there was no outreach. picking mike pence as his vp cuts him off from the lbgtq. words on that stage about americans and undocumented. hatred came out toward anyone who is not us. us versus them. there is no expansion that we saw. and i don't think donald trump is going to get a bounce from a dysfunctional convention but when the democrats get together in philadelphia, they understand that they have an opportunity to show america what was not shown last week in cleveland, which is a leader who wants to bring us together. yes, people are terrified they are thatting times but they are looking for someone to bring us together not divide us. that's where the bounce is going to come from. >> scott, last word? >> reality is people on the fence undecided or who might be suede weren't watching these conventions we're in mid summer and we tend to

obviously the elites despise donald trump. hillary clinton, where is her unfavorable rating this morning? where do you expect it to go? >> so her unfavorable rating right now is just a little above half of americans. and if you look deeper in the numbers, you find that a lot of that is a very strong, unfavorable. this isn't just folks saying i'm not sure that i'm crazy about her. this is baked, in after decades of hillary clinton being in the news. and, of course, in the next couple of months of the campaign, it's only going to get uglier. you are going to see the trump folks really pressing hard on things like the clinton foundation, her involvements with foreign government. again, continuing to press the case on things like benghazi and really focusing on the national security case for why they think hillary clinton is unfit to be president. and so i expect that for both of these candidates there is still room to grow on that unfavorable rating. we may well get to election day with a majority of voters thinking that they just really loathe both of these candidates. >> i think that's probably likely. so if that happens who

munich where the attack took place. he killed 9 people. injured 27. many of those were teenagers, similar to his own age. he killed himself apparently just about half a mile from the shooting scene. now, overnight, police have been searching his home, his apartment, trying to learn a bit more about his motive. authorities say so far there is no evidence he had links to islamic extremism. no connection either to the recent influx of refugees in germany. he had no criminal record. the munich prosecutor said he had been treated for depression and had apparent obsession with mass killings. police found a book about gun rampages in his room. he left no suicide note. now, in this eyewitness video he shouts out "i'm german. i'm from here." the people shouted at him from nearby balcony. then seen loading a pistol and firing it and police tell us he had 300 rounds of

ammunition on him. he wasn't license to do carry that pistol. the gunman began his deadly rampage in a fast food restaurant just before 6:00 p.m. local time yesterday in munich. police confirmed he appears to have hacked a facebook page to encourage people to come down to that restaurant for free food. he went on, of course, to attack shoppers in a busy mall nearby. now the shooter fled the scene and immediately police started a massive manhunt shutting down the city amid rumors of multiple shooters. in the end, it owrnd out it was just the one shooter who killed himself but theres with a great scene of panic in munich last night. munich authorities are now keen to emphasize that the city is safe. but there are still many questions to be answered about why this young man wanted to kill some people. guys? >> thanks, indicate. >> thanks a lot. >> can i say if he really did scream allah akbar, i read that at least one eyewitness said he did. why is there -- i mean, that seems significant to me.

sanders supporters will be showing up in protest outside of the wells fargo center there where they will be having their speeches. so, trump, does he get a bounce? and will we see disunity from the democratic side in philadelphia? >> yeah. i think trump will get a bounce. i think it will be a couple points, couple few points. i think that hillary clinton will also get a bounce. i think she will have to go through probably less than but who knows, probably less than the experience that trump had, ted the floor. there will be some of that here in philadelphia. there will be grouchiness among the democrats. but in the end they'll leave and they'll remember at the end of the week hear from president barack obama, they'll say that everybody will point out that hillary clinton is, in fact, a woman, and they will say, how historic it is. and democrats will leave feeling better, too. both sides will have a bounce. the massive number of undecided voters, which is historically large, which at this point is massive, is going to start to split off into its respective camps. >> can i ask you one thing?

thinks our country should be standing together, not splintering apart. >> well, here now to react is the former contestant on the apprentice and the trump campaign's new director of african-american outreach, omarosa manigault. nice to see you this morning. >> good morning, tucker. >> what did you think of hillary clinton's comments? >> well, it makes sense that she would come and attack his speech and even the convention. we come out of this convention with so much momentum and she's trying to kind of stop that momentum and she goes into her convention she goes in with these e-mail leaks and the revelation that they actually undermined all that bernie was trying to do. so, of course, she's trying to distract from the things that are going on in her campaign. >> omarosa, you're the new director of african-american outreach for the trump campaign. what's your pitch to black voters? what do you say? >> the pitch is we've had seven years under this information under a democratic administration and we still see

that our community is struggling. . we see unemployment levels for african-americans at an all-time high. african-americans are looking for jobs and skill and training for those jobs and this administration has let them down. we are going to turn that around. donald trump is going to be the greatest job creator president that we've ever seen. if you want to see four more years as an african-american under a democratic administration, you're going to see a continued pattern where they are just not providing for a community right now that really does need the support. >> how about to women, we heard that ivanka saying that donald trump has a record in the trump organization to put women in positions of power and he's gender neutral. what does donald trump need to say to win with women? >> well, first of all, i'm an example of that as an african-american woman to join the senior team at the campaign, i think it's great to be a part of that. i've worked with donald for the last 13 years as a woman, and i have observed that he has put women in positions that
