3:00 am
the other big speaker of the night, first lady michelle obama. we'll see you back here for "fox & friends first" at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. but be sure to keep it right here on fox news throughout the day. we'll have all the events live from out of philly and "fox & friends" is standing by starting now. bye. >> ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the south fimly sports complex live in a big at the present time in the parking lot. it's "fox & friends" for the first day of the dnc. >> democratic national done vengs here in philadelphia. we arrived yesterday and we thought at the top of the show we'd be prepared to talk about politics, but we got breaking news into the newsroom. >> back to florida we go and over to heather where we find out there's been a club shooting about 12:30 this morning. >> eastern time today, 12:30 a.m., a shooting taking place.
3:01 am
we are following the latest news as it's coming into our newsroom. police have now detained three people who may have been involved in a shooting. shots were fired in a parking lot of a nightclub that was hosting a teen party in ft. myers, florida. this happened at a club called club blu. 17 people in total have been shot and two of them are dead. they've not been identified at this hour. we're watching that part of the story as well. multiple people, we are told, are fighting life-threatening injuries right now inside the hospital. some inside the club were as young as 13 years old. witnesses on the scene describing it as mad house with others saying they heard around 30 gunshots that bystanders say may have come from multi-al guns. they say the shooting may have lasted as long as ten minutes. a woman who was at the club when the gunman opened fire used
3:02 am
facebook live to talk about the chilling events. listen to this. >> they running behind but you don't know who they shooting. they just running behind you and shooting. you just see a whole bunch of kids just running, just seeing somebody laying on the floor like [ bleep ] got shot. five or ten times. >> the club advertising that party for teenagers as young as 13 years old. they referred to it as a swimsuit glow party. they also said people didn't need an id to get in. it comes just a month and a half after the pulse nightclub shooting in orlando, florida, killed 49 people. we're following this story and making phone calls on this development. we'll bring you more as we get it. >> all right, heather, thank you. >> teen night. normally nightclubs hold teen nights that's not very popular, on a friday night, saturday night. this was on a sunday night.
3:03 am
teenagers as young as 13 shot. >> again, back in florida talking about club shooting again. we'll find out what it's related to. lu now let's go back to what we're here for. right near the wells fargo center where we'll see the democratic convention day one kick off. bernie sanders will speak, michelle obama will speak. not so fast. this is all about who is gavel in, gavel out and say good-bye. debbie wasserman schultz ousted, stunning news. >> day one disaster for the dems, no doubt about it. yesterday we were working on "fox & friends" weekend. and the big story was about the wikileaks, 20,000 e-mails that made it very clear that the dnc led by debbie wasserman schultz has rigged the system in the favor of hillary rodham clinton who is going to wind up with the official nomination. here is what happened. it started hitting the fan yesterday morning shortly after our show. next thing you know, they have a bunch of meetings. she's forced out. she's going to resign as of the
3:04 am
conclusion of the coronation -- >> first she was not going to have a speaking role, not a major one. then they said no speaking role at all. then they said she was resigning because she was caught based on these e-mails tipping the scale for hillary clinton. guess what? hillary clinton got the nomination, exactly what she wanted. now she's going to work for hillary clinton to try to get her to become the next president. >> in an on rare role. here is the question, were they conspireing together or is hillary clinton just the beneficiary? and was the white house, hillary clinton and debbie wasserman schultz working together to oust 74-year-old democratic socialist who has gotten a groundswell of support. you have to wonder what he knew a long time ago when he was calling for the ouster of debbie wasserman schultz, unable to prevail with that. the story in politico today said the obama administration was being pushed to get rid of her. they said, no, she's not my headache, she's hillary clinton's headache.
3:05 am
i don't buy it at all. they're trying to isolate her and say she was just a bad choice. really? do you know how long she had that job as a bad choice? >> here is the problem for her and hillary and donna brazile who is going to take over for her. donna brazile said morhaced e-mails are coming. wikileaks said, yeah, we got more. yesterday the clinton camp nk t are against us. they came out and said last time we were the my sad. get it right. this stuff is coming from wikileaks and there are more on the way. >> yesterday when we were on air, we were talking about the bernie supporters. >> they're angry. >> they're angry. there was a protest out here with more than a thousand people, much more than any of the protests that we saw at the rnc. they were holding up signs. some of the signs said help end establishment politics, vote no on hillary. another one, hell no, dnc, we
3:06 am
won't vote for hillary. am i allowed to say that? >> hillary? you're allowed to say it. >> hellary. >> no one can say no one on the right want to win. ted cruz went for flood, marco rubio, anything they would do to win aboveboard. what is it with bernie sanders? i don't care about your damn e-mails. the woman he wanted ousted was conspireing against him and his supporters. at 74 years old, this is his last gasp at the shot of the presidency. >> are you disappointed he hasn't come out screaming. >> it's almost un-american not to do everything you can to win. why is he not doing everything he can to win. >> you know what? his supporters, that's why it looks like -- his supporters don't like tim kaine. >> bernie sanders said said that, he's not my choice. >> a big protest yesterday right past city hall.
3:07 am
you're right. it's bigger than anything we saw in cleveland last week. so his protesters, bernie's supporters, that is to say, are planning on turning their back on tim kaine. when it comes to debbie wasserman schultz, when she does go out and gavels in and gavels out the festivities, there's a good possibility the anders people will boo, boo, boo. they had a unity thing going in. given the fact that what they were saying all along that the system was rigged and it turns out the system is rigged, it turns out they've got the moral high ground. >> he's still going to speak tonight. we were expecting him to go after the establishment. donald trump tweeted, there's no longer a bernie sanders political revolution, he is turning out to be a weak and somewhat pathetic figure, wants it all today. >> that's the best paper mache figure i've ever seen.
3:08 am
>> can we see it again? in case you don't know what he's talking about? >> a head and shoulders. that includes underdog, everything. >> it's coming for you. >> this is fantastic. >> there it is. >> that's what we've been waiting for. >> it looks exactly like him, only without arms. >> meanwhile, let's talk a little bit about hillary clinton. she was on "60 minutes" last night. that's where people go when they want a lot of eyeballs. last night she was trying to appear sympathetic, trying to push the -- historically they've gone to "60 minutes." listen to this one, a whole new standard we haven't heard about until last night. >> i often feel there's the hillary standard and the standard for everybody else. >> what's the hillary standard? >> well, it's a lot of, as you
3:09 am
saw in the republican convention, unfounded, mean spirited attacks with no bais is in truth, reality, which take on a life of their own. for whatever reasons, and i don't want to try to analyze the reasons. i see it, i understand it, people are very willing to stay things about me, to make accusations about me that are -- i don't get upset about them anymore, but they are very regrettab regrettable. >> self-inflicted wounds. you use your own private server, 30,000 deleted e-mails. the ones turned overturn out to be top secret. james comey comes out and labels exactly where you went wrong. since when is there special scrutiny for hillary clinton, or are there special exceptions that allow her to avoid indictment. >> she's saying she's held to a
3:10 am
different standard and saying that's a negative. people don't treat her fairly. a lot of people say she is held to a different standard, above the law, gets away with corruption. >> essentially what she's saying is she's getting the same kind of scrutiny a lot of conservatives get and she doesn't like the heat. she did some dumb stuff with the private e-mail service, that dumb e-mail server and now the whole world is look at her. >> regarding the separate standard, gray connelly tweeted fbi certainly has a hillary standard and one for everybody else. >> steve, this is a huge tent you had to put together with a screw gun by yourself. >> it was crazy. >> it's a great setup here. the question is, can you reveal -- can you go behind the scenes with your headset microphone -- >> i feel like madonna with this. >> that's right. we've got this gigantic tent. we're in the parking lot of the south philly sports complex. we'll give you a little idea what's going on. that's the back of the set.
3:11 am
over here we have the "fox & friends" producers. clayton morris is over there doing social media stuff. he's bowling. clayton, we or on right now. sorry. at least put up solitary, would you? meanwhile, these are some of the folks, all the producers right here get the show together. these are different areas where they'll have people coming in late in the day. we're the dawn patrol, so we're the first people on. because we are in a giant tent in the parking lot, if there's bad weather, we would know it before anybody else. as it turns out -- can you see right here? it's been pouring most of the morning. there's what we would call in kansas a frog strangler. right through there is the cbs tent. oh, man, my pants are soaking wet. all the tv networks are here in the parking lot. as you can see, they've got each of the programs, from fox news -- a different bay of
3:12 am
chairs and phones, and right back there is "morning with maria" which i was reading in the trade papers this morning -- fox business, number one business network in america last week during the rnc in cleveland. meanwhile, let's go right on over this way. heather is working on the breaking news right over there. let's see who else we can -- you're not bowling anymore, are you? because all the different shows -- for instance, this is the fives table right here. nobody comes in until about 4:00. a lot of people don't realize that. the people on the five come in at 4:00. who else isn't here? america's newsroom? wonder where they are. we have some executives right over here, catering back there, and that is our green room --
3:13 am
actually just a collection of chairs. you can see sean grow man, one of our producers and pete who we'll be chatting with later. that's a brief look at the tent. ainsley and bryan, back to you. >> i'm a little concerned that growman can't find anything to do. steve, great tour. i need you to come back here. we have a floor map in case you're lost. let me tell you what we have coming up. >> we do have new details, our top story, about that shooting at a club down in south florida leaving two people dead, some inside that club just 13 years old. what we've just learned, that's coming up next. what does reince priebus talk about debbie wasserman schultz? last night i sat down with the rnc chair and walked around. wait till you have to say about the chaos he was confused of. >> the rnc at the dnc.
3:14 am
>> that's where we are. when consultant josh atkins books at laquinta.com. he gets a ready for you alert the second his room is ready. so he knows exactly when he can settle in and think big. and when josh thinks big you know what he gives? i'll give you everything i've got and then some... he gives a hundred and ten percent! i'm confident this 10% can boost your market share. look at that pie chart! boom! you've never seen a number like that! you feel me lois? i'm feeling you.

3:18 am
night. >> joining us right now, heather nauert. what can you tell us? >> the good news is police have detained some people so far. the motive we do not know at this hour. police have those three in custody. they may have been involved many sthooting we understand. brand new video showing one of the shooting victims on a stretcher. shots were fired just before 1:00 a.m. eastern time at club blu in ft. myers hosting a teen party. police say a total of 17 people have been shot and two are dead. we do not know the identities of the deceased so far. but we're watching that carefully. multiple people we're told are fighting life-threatening injuries at the hospital. some inside that club were as young as 13 years old. witnesses who were there describe this scene as a mad house with others saying they believe they heard around 30 shots fired.
3:19 am
bystanders say the shots may have come from multiple guns. they say the shooting lasted for about ten minutes. we're working to confirm all these details. it is a fluid story at this point. one woman who was at that club when the gunman opened fire used facebook live to recall those chilling events. listen and watch. >> oh, my god. >> wasn't even grown people event. this was 18-year-olds, 17-year-olds. >> i can't believe it. i was just like -- i was trying to protect my sister. >> that club advertised the event for teenagers as young as 13 years old. they called it a swimsuit glow party. people didn't need an id to get in. the nightclub shooting comes just a month and a half after the awful pulse nightclub shooting in orlando, florida, that killed 49 people. this is still a developing situation. we're following it for you and bringing you the latest as we work to make phone calls and confirm all these details.
3:20 am
>> heather, at this point, there's no suggestion it's terror related. >> not at this point. we don't know the motive yet. we're working on that. and we're all over this story in philadelphia. what does reince priebus think about debbie wasserman schultz, his counterpart and the scandal surrounding her. last night i stood up with the rnc chairman as he got his sleeves rolled up trying to get things under way in his own war room in south philly. >> yesterday protesters tried to heat things up by burning the american flag in cleveland. could philadelphia bring something even worse? pete joins us live with a special message for our police. he's hanging out in the green room. tucker carlson is coming up shortly. morning, guys. they brought this on themselves.

3:24 am
the dnc kicking off today in the middle of a huge leadership shakeup. we thought we would get a response from the rnc. >> that's exactly what that man at the other side of the big plastic table did last night. >> oh, yeah. that's right, me, with dnc chairwoman debbie wasserman schultz stepping down on her own volition, i met with reince priebus and here is what he had to say. >> reince, here we are in the beginning of the dnc, what happened today. >> a bad day for debbie wasserman schultz. >> they were, in fact, rigging the system in favor of hillary by using a national party which should be neutral to take this guy down. it's a remarkable moment in
3:25 am
american political history. >> ceo debbie wasserman schultz reluctantly resigns. also in these e-mails to the cfo, the communication director looks just as complicit. should it stop there? >> i would imagine that hillary clinton and her campaign, my guess is they're going to call for an investigation. but the truth is they were benefiting from it all. i wouldn't be surprised if hillary clinton knew full well that the dnc was working with them and for them the whole way through, and now they're going to sort of act like they didn't know what was going on. they knew exactly what was going on. i'm sure there were tom's people and senior staffers at the dnc communicating regularly with hillary clinton's campaign. if people were out there in favor of bernie sanders, they should be outraged by what they saw here at the dnc. >> debbie wasserman schultz will now head, accepted the job as on air chairman of hillary clinton's campaign. what does that tell you? >> for one thing, it emphasizes
3:26 am
the fact that she was in the tank the whole time anyway. but the dnc was in the tank and the whole thing was a fraud. it's also probably a made-up position that people do when folks transition out of embarrassing situations. >> it was brought up to me today from a democratic strategist that if reince priebus had his e-mail hacked, it would show some collaboration for one candidate or another? >> no. because, listen, i don't put a lot in e-mails. i don't do that. by the way, my staff has all the pass words to all of my e-mail accounts, and so when you send me an e-mail, a lot of people can see the e-mail. i know that. i don't write a whole lot in return. >> certainly, we feel like we had a drama-filled primary. i'm never going to make believe we didn't have a lot of bruising and we have healing to do, so that's the truth. but we ultimately chose the candidate that had that sort of
3:27 am
grassroots momentum of change that really changed a lot of the entire primary season for the republican party. the difference is they didn't. and they suppressed those people on the other side. they're going to try to force feed these folks in philadelphia, this soup they don't want to eat. that's the whole thing with the republican party. think one thing people concluded about me and the rnc is ultimately we played it down the middle. you saw that with the convention last week. it was well run. when it was time to call donald trump the presumptive nominee, we did. i fought donald trump on some things along the way in regard to this accusation of delegate allocation and rigged system. i did that very publicly. we have a lot of respect for each other. but ultimately we ran our operation by the rules. >> bernie sanders now has the proof that there was collaboration behind the scenes to stop him. yet the endorsement still sticks and monday's speech will still
3:28 am
stand. what's your reaction to that? >> i think there could be a change in what he's going to say on monday night based on what happened today. otherwise you're just laying down, just a puppy dog for the party. i don't think he's a puppy dog. >> donald trump tweeted out he thinks he is. we brought out two things, the e-mails were something that was a wide-open target. bernie sanders took it off the table and james comey didn't. now we have another situation where there was collaboration to cut out his legs, cut out his knees, and if he does not bring that up, why did he even bother running? >> the system is rigged. there are new polls out this morning on another channel, over on cnn, in a four-way race, donald trump got a six-point bounce, show manage the cnn poll since 2015, leading hillary clinton 44-39. and then head-to-head trump is leading hillary clinton going into her own convention 48 for
3:29 am
45. what is the news out of philly this morning? chaos on day one as people are kwitding -- >> actually the chaos started before the convention started, starting yesterday before day one. excellent job. coming up, we'll see a tour of where they're located. >> probably do it tomorrow. i went to do a tour of the war room and then this news broke so we changed gears. it's really cool. they went to a south philadelphia boxing gym, took it over in a gritty section of south philly and they set up their mini war room. i'll bring up something else, the other thing that hillary clinton didn't want more than anything else -- they'll take chaos, but the word corruption. the word corruption has followed her to this convention and it leads her into this convention, worst scenario. >> perhaps that's why -- didn't donald trump a couple days ago start calling him corrupt kaine? he's going to do his best to turn that into the lying little low energy --
3:30 am
>> i like how bryan said the investigation. meanwhile, it's 6:30 in philly. more breaking news out of the state of florida. a club shooting at midnight has left two people dead. that club hosted teen night, and now we're hearing the first calls to emergency services. what they reveal coming up next. protests are already under way here in philadelphia, and our own tucker carlson got right in the middle of one of these protests at a bernie sanders rally. >> i don't know. i might write in mickey mouse. >> hillary, if you're listening, it apt going to cut it, lady. bernie or bust. >> there is tucker right there. come on up, tuck. >> ber many or bust. hey, need fast heartburn relief? try cool mint zantac. it releases a cooling sensation in your mouth and throat.

3:34 am
brand new details about the nightclub shooting overnight down in ft. myers, florida, that has left two people dead. that club was hosting a teen night for teenagers last night. >> we just learned one of those shot just 12 years old. that child is alive this morning. >> at 12:30 in the morning? joining us right now with the breaking details is heather nauert. >> i've been on the phone making calls to local officials. police have three people in custody who they say may have been involved in the shooting. they're asking the questions at this hour. i just got off the phone with the lee hospital in ft. myers where they're currently treating 16 of the 17 patients. i'm told one person died in that hospital. the age and identity of that victim has not been released just yet. the shooting victims overall range in age from 12 to 27 years old this happened just before
3:35 am
1:00 a.m. eastern at club blu in ft. myers. multiple people are fighting for their lives. some inside the club describing the scene as a mat house with others saying they heard about 30 gunshots bystanders believe may have come from multiple weapons. they're also saying the shooting may have lasted up to ten minutes. >> we've got that gunshot victim in the middle of the parking lot. >> multiple victims in the parking lot. >> we need more units in the parking lot. >> we have a second victim up in the front. >> got another victim on the other side. give me somebody over here. >> wow. victims all over the players and
3:36 am
learning, also, there was a security guard. the club advertising that event for teenagers as young as 13 years old. they called it a swimsuit glow party and most didn't need an id to get in. this comes just a month and a half after the pulse nightclub shooting which was terrorism. 49 people died that evening. this is still a developing situation unfolding at this hour. we're making calls to bring you the latest as soon as we get more information. steve, bryan and ainsley. let's turn to politics. tucker carlson joins us at the south philly sports complex. good morning, tucker. >> good morning. >> the actual convention center about a half block from where we're sitting right now. let me ask you this, coming in, the democrats desperately wanted to say, look, our convention is so much better run than last week at the rnc. day one is a disaster for them. >> i sort of bought into this. donald trump is so new to this,
3:37 am
and the opposition to him is so intense, a lot of us expected chaos at the republican convention. amazingly it was very smooth. this logistically has been a flat-out nightmare. i'll be interested to see if other press organizations concede that. the bernie thing is a real problem. hillary clinton had to try to steal it and by doing that enraged a huge percentage of potential voters. >> now the spin is the president never liked her, and it's too much of a hassle to get rid of her. the clinton camp wanted her ousted a long time ago. >> debbie wasserman schultz. >> yes, collaborating for hillary clinton and left in power by barack obama. >> the truth is, it's clear, a lot of enemies from day one. a lot of people don't like debbie wasserman schultz, but she was serve a very specific purpose, get hillary clinton the nomination. the day she completed her task,
3:38 am
she was cast aside. >> no big deal for her. she did that and now i can go on to help hillary clinton to win the election. >> hillary clinton has paid her off, apparently is hiring her. >> i love the spin i read about in politico. it's so delicious. adds soon as she essentially quit, she was hired by hillary clinton. so if hillary really hated her, why would she say, you sit down right next to me. >> she did what she was there to do. >> tucker, you went to the bernie rally, a thousand people there yesterday. they're upset about this because their votes obviously not counted, not even heard. >> they don't think they were. the democratic party tends to be very process oriented. it matters to liberals how the process unfolds. they think it was stolen from them. they have frankly a lot of evidence to support that. what i'm struck by every time i go to the ber any rally, i'm not sympathetic to a lot of the y50ids. i wore a legalize bernie pin.
3:39 am
people couldn't have been nice tore me. there's some intense people for sure. they're sincerely ag grieved and many won't vote for hillary clinton. >> i wish you would have taken a camera. >> we did. >> do you have a clib? >> we do. here we go. >> we have a tiny house, a 26,000 pound truck we converted to a stable and a house. me and the animals, we all live in there and we travel. >> i'm not dealing with hillary. >> what do you think you're going to do? >> we'll see. we'll see. put it this way, never truchl trump. >> they have no problems throwing away american lives. >> do you know how much of what you just said sounds like trump's speech. >> here is what i want to hear, hillary has agreed to drop out.
3:40 am
i'm going to be the nominee and it all works out. >> i love that. >> democratic party. wikileaks come out. more information comes out and they think they can manipulate us. >> if you could send a message to hillary clinton, what would it be? >> you need to listen to the people and the people don't want you in office. the people want bernie and that's what needs to happen. >> are you going to vote for bernie? >> if they give me a choice. >> if they don't, are you going to vote for hillary? >> i might write in mickey mouse. >> hillary, it ain't going to cut it. >> hillary medes the bernie supporters and some of those people are never going to vote for her. >> most aren't voting for trump either. but i'm so struck by the similarities in focus. these folks are mad about trade, mad about the effect of money in
3:41 am
politics. they don't like the banks. they're national allies. it's a populist movement against the elite. >> i was talking to some people outside. fund. ly you appreciate the young people's passion but everyone should take an economics competency course and combine it with history, and they will understand why the bernie sanders principles do not work, why he was not able to put in a single policy of the socialist system. >> of course. >> you say of course. there are thousands of people there who want something that would not work and has not worked. >> a lot of politicians. >> moral myopia that is a little annoying. >> one woman came back from cuba and said how much she hates trump. i said who is a biggest fascist, raul castro or donald trump? she said trump. that's ridiculous. >> one of the things, a lot of people who have never been to a bernie sanders rally say, just a bunch of cooks, crazy people. >> i've been to a couple. you've been to a couple. struck by how polite people are
3:42 am
and so many families. the families look at their lives and they feel like the system is rigged against them. i get why they're there. >> you're about the only person i've ever heard say that. i've noticed exactly the same thing. these are not all stoners, there are middle class, working class people from rural areas who have been left out, the benefits of globalization. i think they're misguided but not totally crazy. >> all right. tucker, thanks for going. meanwhile on this monday, coming up, she's out as head of the dnc. should she also lose her seat in congress. we're talking about debbie wasserman schultz. the man who wants to make that a reality will join us. he's running against her. last week protesters burned the american flag at the rnc. our own pete took them on. >> do i hate america? yes. >> what other country would you like to go to where you wouldn't
3:43 am

good monday morning to you and your family. july 25th, 2016. i'm ainsley earhardt. we are live from philadelphia. we start with this. a fox news alert. up it's happened once again. another mass shooting at a florida nightclub. this time, during teen night. >> we have gunshot victims in the parking lot. >> multiple victims down in the parking lot. >> we need more units at the parking lot here. >> got a second victim up by the front. >> security guard included inside. >> -- in the parking lot. >> i have another -- get me
4:01 am
somebody over here. >> it happened at 12:30 this morning and the youngest victim only 12 years old. we'll have the breaking details for you. disaster for the democrats. debbie wasserman schultz is ready to resign. she did that effective at the end of this convention. the dnc chairwoman hounded by an e-mail dump showing her bias against bernie sanders and the supporters aren't taking the nice of those e-mails lightly, are they? >> feel the bern, feel the bern! >> so could they bring even more unwanted chaos to the democratic national convention? in a word, yes. and hillary clinton thinks critics are being too hard on her. >> i often feel like there's the hillary standard and then the standard for everybody else. >> what is the hillary standard? >> you know, it is a lot as you saw at the republican convention, unfounded,
4:02 am
inaccurate, mean spirited attacks with no basis in truth, reality. >> truth or reality. interesting combination. what do you think about that? hillary's standard, a double standard for hillary? no matter where we are, just know this. and you probably do already. your mornings are better because you're with "friends." >> you're looking live, bathed in blue, inside the wells fargo center here in the heart of south philly. we're at the south philly sports complex. this is jason tuitt who set up our world headquarters for this week. day one of the dnc in philly. >> that's right. the rnc is in the books. we start week two with you
4:03 am
covering politics this morning, but first we'll start with some braking news -- breaking news. >> you have the stadiums all in the same area. we're in middle of it. wells fargo center will turn into politics but first let's talk about what we woke up to this morning. we have nice of -- we have news of a shooting in florida and it's breaking right now. >> i'm making phone calls, getting the latest details out of ft. meyers at this hour. police are now questioning three people who they believe may have been involved in a shooting that occurred in a parking lot of a nightclub. three people i am told left the car at the scene. two later fled that vehicle. police have them now in custody and they are asking them questions. i just got off the phone with lee hospital, in ft. meyers, florida, they're treating 16 patients. one is in critical condition. the other in serious condition. 12 of the 16 patients have been released from the hospital. i'm told that one person died at
4:04 am
that hospital. the age and identity of that victim has not been released. but we do know that both of the victims who were killed are male. the shooting victims range in age from 12 to 27 years old. the shooting happened in the parking lot outside a nightclub as it was hosting a teen party before 1:00 a.m. eastern time at club blu. this is some brand-new video we're just getting in moments ago, showing a second scene where shots were also fired. this is about five blocks away from that nightclub. some inside that club describing this scene as a mad house with others saying they heard about 30 gunshots that bystanders believed may have come from multiple weapons. we do not know that for a fact just yet. we're working to confirm that information as we get it. this is a fluid situation. some are saying that the shooting lasted for as long as ten minutes. new chilling dispatch audio detailing the scene as officers found the victims throughout the parking lot. listen.
4:05 am
>> multiple victims down at the time for signal 51. >> gunshot wound victims over here. >> shot in the arm -- ems is coming now. >> the club advertised the event for teenagers as young as 13. they called it a swimsuit glow party. an i.d. was not necessary to get in. this comes a month and a half after the pulse nightclub shooting in orlando, florida, claimed 49 lives. it is a developing situation that's unfolding. we are working to try to bring you the motive of this shooting. as of now we understand it looks like it may be some sort of fight. but we're working to figure that out exactly. >> so it doesn't look like terrorists? >> not at this point, but we're still working on that. >> do you believe in prayer, say a prayer for a victims. let's change gears and talk politics. >> real quick, before we talk about the disaster -- the terrible start that happened
4:06 am
yesterday. the cnn poll shows that donald trump's seven-point disaster has turned into the three-point lead. if you look at those three people -- >> head to head. >> head to head, a three-point lead. six-point lead with all four in the race. >> exactly right. so he wound up getting a bounce. the last thing that the democrats wanted was to come in to today -- actually back that up. the first thing they wanted to do was they wanted to say, you know, last week in cleveland it was a disaster. for the republicans. as it turns out it is a disaster for the democrats because of debbie wasserman schultz, it is revealed by wikileaks, a whole bunch of e-mails were released. she did all sorts of stuff. there was a mole working inside the sanders campaign, they tried to bring up sanders' religion to scare southern victims. possible money laundering to bypass the limits and hillary supporters infiltrated the sanders campaign. >> not even a day -- not even a
4:07 am
day after she resigned, she is hired by hillary clinton and the position is -- >> of course she is. >> honorary chairman of 50-state programs. her goal was to get hillary nominated. that worked. she can check off that box. now her goal is to get her to become the president. >> despite the scandal and the embarrassment and the democratic party, she still needed to negotiate -- to get pushed out. do you realize what the closed door negotiations would have been like? she gets elevated to that spot because she's done a great job for hillary clinton. the question is do we see in the 20,000 e-mails a hillary clinton collaboration with debbie wasserman schultz and a white house cooperation, all to oust not governor o'malley, but bernie sanders? a guy they could not control. >> the guy who was supposed to stand up to this. when he heard this news, we thought he'd say this is rigged, this is awful. this was unfair. let's have a redo. he didn't say that at all. instead, he folded.
4:08 am
he got a lot -- you have a lot of protesters here that are upset with the way it turned out because they supported bernie. instead he's going to be speaking tonight or today at the dnc. >> right. you know we knew that the bernie sanders supporters, you don't like tim kaine. you feel like he's not progressive enough. there's some suggestion that when tim kaine speaks there may be a mass exodus of all the bernie sanders people either leaving or turning their back. and you can understand why the bernie sanders people are steamed because he has said it all along. the system was rigged against them and now there's proof. wikileaks -- this is terrible news for hillary clinton. wikileaks announced there are more e-mails coming. donna brazile who is taking over the dnc on an honorary basis said, yep, we know they're coming. the campaign may say we're russians, we're not the russians. we're wikileaks. we're the ones who are breaking this. >> pushing that russian theme. "60 minutes," everyone watches, right? for the last 40 years.
4:09 am
the question to hillary clinton by far the biggest story here and everywhere else, debbie wasserman schultz resigning. they put the question and the answer in their overtime. not even in the original "60 minutes" interview. you had to go online and hear the question at which time when hillary clinton was asked about what she knew about it, she said i haven't read any of those. but i'm adamantly opposed to anybody bringing up the -- >> let me understand this, they talked to her yesterday. we did the news yesterday morning was the story of debbie wasserman schultz. had rigged the system against him. >> they made -- they said go to 60minutes.com. they didn't promo it. they put it in the extra stuff that didn't make the cut on "60 minutes." >> unbelievable. >> this is where she thinks she has been totally treated unfairly. >> not by cbs obviously.
4:10 am
>> listen to her interview with scott pelley. >> i often like there's the hillary standard and then the standard for everybody else. >> what is the hillary standard? >> you know, it's a lot as you saw at the republican convention unfounded, inaccurate, mean spirited attacks with no basis in truth, reality, which take on a life of their own. and for whatever reasons -- i don't want to try to analyze the reasons. i see it, i understand it. people are very willing to say things about me to make accusations about me that are -- i don't get upset about them anymore. but they are very regrettable. >> i think she gets a little upset about -- are these things that are bugging her, are they bugging the average person? anna kooiman live here in philly at the pen rose diner talking to some folks. what are they thinking? >> well, making a lot of friends this morning.
4:11 am
good morning to you, steve, ainsley and brian and good morning to everybody at home. this is my buddy jim, a hillary clinton supporter. good morning. what do you make of the convention chaos that seems to be dooming the first day of the democratic national convention? >> i just think you're blowing it a little out of proportion. i don't think it's utter chaos. there's a major scandal involving the e-mail, but i wouldn't -- you know, you guys are making it sound like there's people running around screaming. you know? riots going on. because of one scandal. >> well, there certainly aren't riots going on. there certainly are not. we are not saying that at all, jim. but you mentioned that you think there's been a conflict of interest from the very beginning with hillary clinton and debbie wasserman schultz. >> yeah. well, they're very good friend, so i think that the e-mail was inappropriate. but i think it's understandable since they were so close that she would support hillary as being presidential candidate. >> well, what do you think about the bernie sanders supporters and how they think that the system has been rigged from the very beginning? >> it's a little rigged.
4:12 am
it's a little rigged but i think that's on both sides. i think that's the problem with having a two party system as well. >> so do you think this is the year of the outsider candidate and even trump will be able to court bernie sanders supporters? >> i hope not. he's a psychopathic narcissist. >> all right. thank you for your time. we have trump supporters over here. we have pat and chuck. good morning. how are the eggs this morning? >> delicious as always. >> are you a regular here at the diner? >> yeah. what do you think of hillary clinton saying she is held to the different standard than the others? >> she's treated as an elitist and she gets a lot of leeway for a lot of things she does and says. >> what do you think of debbie wasserman schultz being forced out it appears but then hillary clinton hiring her for her 50 state strategy? >> yeah, i think she knew it all along. and she was fine with it. she doesn't have a problem with what she's doing. >> all right, chuck, what do you have, what do you think about the kickoff to the dnc here in
4:13 am
philly? >> i'm sorry? >> the kickoff to the dnc here in philly. >> the kickoff has been very rocky. they complained about the republican national convention, but this has been worse. >> so you think that the unity -- the unification in the democratic party may not be something that comes to fruition very quickly? >> i think you're going to hear a lot from bernie's supporters today, yes. >> we already are. thank you so much. we'll let you get back to eating your eggs, hash browns and belgian waffles. back to you in the studio. >> i loved the first interview with jim who loves hillary and said, yeah, it's probably a little rigged. >> yeah. but steve, he says oh, well, they're friend, what do you expect? you have to play fair. if you can't play fair, you should haven't the job. >> when you're the ump, everybody is equal. >> all right. >> that's right. >> ainsley, what's coming up next? >> coming up, the trump campaign has plenty to say about dropping
4:14 am
debbie wasserman schultz from the dnc. we are live outside trump tower in manhattan, coming up next. and it's home to the liberty bell but how much do you really know about philadelphia? well, it's a little rainy today. like what is philly's favorite food? the answer not the cheese steak. more coming up.
4:18 am
well, dnc disarray on day one here at the dnc convention. everyone now reacting to the e-mail leak fallout and debbie wasserman schultz. >> now last night while we were talking to reince priebus, we had a chance to talk to paul manafort. donald trump's campaign manager. manafo manafort, he points to hillary as the real culprit. listen. >> she was colluding with debbie wasserman schultz and the democratic national committee the whole time. the whole process was rigged in her behalf. once again, even her nomination is a result of a rigged system and a dishonest strategy. >> and donald trump of course had his own reaction. foal news senior national correspondent john roberts is live outside of trump tower with those details. good morning, john. >> reporter: ainsley earharand
4:19 am
and steve, good morning. some good news for donald trump's campaign, orc/cnn poll shows he got a six-point bounce. that's the biggest since al gore and george bush got an eight-point bounce out of their conventions. look at how the numbers changed to where we are now. in a head to head match-up, donald trump leads hillary clinton 48 to 45. you add in the other two candidates he stretches it out to five points, 44-39. take a look at this. he went into the convention with the deficit among independents of three points. he now leads hillary clinton 46-28. now to the e-mail scandal. this has handed the trump campaign and the republican party a gift they couldn't have even conceived of days ago. one they plan to ride all the way through the convention. reince priebus yesterday indicating that any talk of disunity at the republican convention is child's play compared to what's going on at the dnc. here's priebus.

trying to help out the donald trump campaign. >> they're pretty desperate pretty quickly. that's all i have to say on that. it's a far reach obviously. and to lead their convention with that tells me they're trying to move away from what the issues will be in this campaign. pretty absurd. >> now, there are reports that russia was behind the hack here, but don't forget it wasn't russia who wrote those e-mails. it was dnc officials. ainsley, brian, steve? >> that's a great point. john roberts on fifth avenue outside of trump tower. thank you. >> and paul manafort says look, i want to see if the white house is somehow involved in this entire thing too. don't be surprised if it goes full circle. >> more e-mails are coming out from wikileaks, so stay tuned. meanwhile, what does reince priebus think of debbie wasserman schultz? last night i had a chance to speak with the rnc chairman at his war room. what he had to say will astound you. >> he was here? >> yeah, in south philly.
5:21 am
i thought i married an italian. my lineage was the vecchios and zuccolis. through ancestry, through dna i found out that i was only 16% italian. he was 34% eastern european. so i went onto ancestry, soon learned that one of our ancestors we thought was italian was eastern european. this is my ancestor who i didn't know about. he looks a little bit like me, yes. ancestry has many paths to discovering your story.
5:24 am
good morning to you. welcome back. 24 minutes after the hour. we start with a fox news alert. a syrian refugee blowing himself up outside of a packed music festival in germany. injuring 12 people and killing himself. it's the latest of a string of recent attacks in that country. we are learning that the 27-year-old was denied asylum and was known to police. police saying he tried to get inside the concert hall. he was denied entry and that's when he blew himself up. no word on the exact motive. but terror has not been ruled out. at least not yet.
5:25 am
back here at home, a deadly crash involving the dallas cowboys bus. four people were killed when the van crashed into the bus. it was traveling to las vegas. no players were on board at the time. they crashed into that van that was trying to cross an arizona highway completely crushing it. no one on that bus was injured. and then a raging wildfire in california now tripling in size at this hour. the fire has darkened the skies north of los angeles with black smoke. take a look at that. that smoke reaching all way to las vegas. more than 43,000 acres destroyed so far, including 18 homes. a very busy news morning. including the politics. we'll follow these stories throughout the day. well, the dnc is kicking off today in the middle of a huge leadership shakeup. >> so what does the guy at the top of the rnc think? >> yep, steve, with dnc chairwoman debbie wasserman schultz now out, stepping down
5:26 am
soon, even though she'll gavel in today what better person to get a reaction from than her republican counterpart and i talked to reince priebus late last night about what was developing during the day. so reince, here we are in the beginning of the dnc. you just finished up the rnc. what happens today? >> it was a bad day for debbie wasserman schultz obviously. they were in fact rigging the system in favor of hillary by using a national party which should be neutral to take this guy down. it's a remarkable moment in american political history. >> and the ceo, debbie wasserman schultz reluctantly resigned. also in the e-mails to the cfo, the communication director looks just as complicit. shouldn't it stop there? >> well, i would imagine that hillary clinton, her campaign, you know, my guess is they're going to call for an investigation. but the truth is they're benefiting from it all. i wouldn't be surprised if hillary clinton knew full well that the dnc was working with
5:27 am
them and for them the whole way through and now they're going to act like they didn't know what was going on. they knew what was going on. i'm sure that there were people and senior staffers of the dnc communicating regularly with hillary clinton's campaign and if people were out there in favor of bernie sanders, they should be outraged by what they saw here at the dnc. >> debbie wasserman schultz will now head -- has accepted the job of honorary chairman of hillary clinton's campaign, 50 state strategy. what does that tell you? >> right. for one thing it emphasizes the fact she was in the tank the whole time anyway and the dnc was in the tank and it was a fraud and probably it's made-up position that people do when folks transition out of embarrassing situations. >> you know, it was brought up to me today that from a democratic strategist that if reince priebus had his e-mail hacked it would show that there was some type of collaboration and manipulation for one candidate or another. is that true? >> no. because i'm -- listen, i don't
5:28 am
put a lot in e-mails. so i don't -- i don't do that. by the way, my staff has all the passwords to all of my e-mail accounts. and so when you send me an e-mail, a lot of people can see the e-mail. i know that. i don't write a whole lot in return. >> well, certainly we had a drama-filled primary. i'm not going to make believe we didn't have a lot of bruising, and we had healing to do. so that's the truth. but we ultimately chose the candidate that had that sort of grass roots momentum of change that really changed a lot of the entire primary season for the republican party. the difference is they didn't. they're going to try to force feed these folks in philadelphia this soup they don't want to eat. i mean, that's the whole thing with the republican party. i think one thing that people have concluded about me and the rnc is that ultimately we played it down the middle. you saw that with the convention
5:29 am
last week. it was well run. when it was time to call donald trump the presumptive nominee, we did. i fought donald trump on some things along the way in regard to this accusation of delegate allocation and rigged system and i did that very publicly. we have a lot of respect for each other, but ultimately i -- we ran our operation by the rules. >> bernie sanders now has to prove that there was collaboration behind the scene to stop him. yet, the endorsement still sticks and monday's speech will still stand. what's your reaction to that? >> i think there could be a change in what he's going to say monday night. based on what happens today. otherwise, you're just laying down. otherwise you're just a puppy dog to the party, and i don't think he's a puppy dog. >> you know, if bernie sanders does lay down, it won't stop the protests going on outside, and we saw that yesterday with her ultimate resignation.
5:30 am
it will be ted cruz-like when debbie wasserman schultz goes to gavel in because it's an insincerity and putting a hand on the scale. >> do you think she'll be booed? >> absolutely she's going to be booed. >> no kidding, after this. donald trump had a very good week last week and he's put out an e-mail talking about how about donald trump now leads hillary in three new national polls. he's leading in the cnn poll, l.a. times and the morning consult. donald trump got a bounce out of cleveland. >> donald trump, 48, hillary, 45. >> that's right. head to head. more in a minute. 8:30 here in philly. but the debbie wasserman schultz scandal isn't the only problem for the dnc today. >> dnc, we won't vote for hillary. >> protests already under way and the convention hasn't even started yet. that one yesterday bigger than anything we saw in cleveland. >> all right, guys, let's talk
5:31 am
politics with a side of pancakes there. there's anna kooiman getting the pulse of the people live at a diner in philly. hey, anna! now she writes mostly in emoji. soon, she'll type the best essays in the entire 8th grade. get back to great. all hp ink buy one get one fifty percent off. office depot officemax. gear up for school. gear up for great.
5:33 am
5:34 am
and have a chance to say goodbye to grampy tim oh, that's the power to turn back time. (vo) get the ultimate all-included bundle. call 1-800-directv. well, it's day one here at the dnc. the theme -- united together. but don't tell that to bernie sanders supporters seen yesterday in downtown philly. >> thousands flooding before the convention even started. joining us live from the city of brotherly love, leland vitter. hey, leland. >> hi, good morning. some of the same security measures that we saw in cleveland are what we'll see here in philadelphia. the no-scale fencing. protesters can't get up it.
5:35 am
they built a no-man's-land, in case the protesters get real rowdy here in the park and try to climb this fence. they have something to back them up. now this is broad street. this is where protesters were marching down yesterday, chanting hell no, dnc, we won't vote for hillary. these bernie supporters are in enraged and emboldened by the wikileaks scandal, proving that the deck is stacked against their man, bernie sanders. what are they trying to prevent here is in philadelphia? what we saw in 2000 at the rnc where people tried to shut down highways and chained themselves to overpasses. that certainly shut this city down. that's something that the police here say they will not permit to happen again. back to you guys. >> all right, leland vitter, downtown philadelphia. we're in south philly at the sports complex right now and tucker carlson joining us. good morning. >> good morning. what's he's going to say tonight? that's the question. >> bernie? >> bernie.
5:36 am
i think a lot of us, certainly i misread the nature of bernie's support. i believe it was young people who were upset about the college costs and they were upset, but there are some of those. but in talking to the bernie sanders supporters they like him for his personal integrity and his courage. he's brave. he's direct. that's in contrast to they believe hillary clinton. if he comes out tonight in the wake of everything we know now about what hillary clinton and the allies at the dnc did and endorseser in a full -- endorses her in a full throated way they'll be devastated. >> he got screwed by what went on behind the scenes and every time he had a chance to break through in the debate settings, it was new year's eve, it was sunday night at 10:00, that's the dnc putting it to him. >> totally. what does it about him and he says tonight, you know what it's important to vote for hillary clinton she's a person of integrity. the people who believe in
5:37 am
bernie -- by the way if you're still mad about it, you still believe in bernie, what do you say? >> is there something behind the scenes that we know about? >> i don't believe they have leverage over him. he's 74 years old. he wasn't even a democrat. >> keep in mind, i was reading statistical analysis of the primary for the democrats. >> yes. >> if it were no for the super delegates bernie would have won and the reason the super delegates were stacked the way they were is because the whole thing was rigged. >> exactly. but more significantly in my view that's totally true. if you look at who voted for bernie, you quickly conclude he is the future of the democratic party. young people by in some states 9 to 10 voted for bernie sanders. to give him the kissoff as they have is to risk alienating your future voters. >> all right. did you see the protesters last night? >> i spent a lot of time with the protesters. i went incognito. i wore a bernie sanders pin and they were super nice to me.
5:38 am
we have tape. >> let's watch. >> so our rule is if you bring a backpack we'll interview. we have a 26,000 truck that we converted to the house and me and the animals, we all live in there. and we travel. >> i'm not feeling hillary. >> what do you think you'll do? >> we'll see. we'll see. but put it this way. never trump. >> people who claim to be liberal, with the courage -- they have no problems throwing away american lives. >> do you know how much what you said sounds like trump's speech? >> that sounds like trump? >> yeah. >> here's what i want him to say -- hillary has dropped out, i'm going to be the nominee. and it all works out. >> i love that. >> democratic party thinks -- and the media, and the wikileaks
5:39 am
comes out, oh, they manipulate us and make us fall in line. >> if you could send a message to hillary clinton what would it be? >> you need to listen to the people and the people don't want you in office. people want bernie that's what needs to happen. >> are you going to vote for bernie? >> if they give me a choice. >> if they don't, vote for hillary? >> i don't know. i'll write in mickey mouse. >> bernie or bust. >> well, last week the headline from the rnc was that ted cruz would not endorse. it will be interesting to see what bernie sanders does tonight. it's supposed to be all about unity but there's trouble in the street. >> is bernie sanders going to be more compliant than ted cruz? i don't believe it. i do -- my prediction he reads the prompter, on and off, that's it. >> i'll be really disappointed. >> i'm with brian. >> the last honest man on the left turns opportunity to a little robot for hillary. >> i think he'll read the teleprompter, but they'll write something new today so we're all
5:40 am
right. >> i like the man with the alpaca. >> i know. not far from where we are right now, penrose diner where anna kooiman is talking to the people about the dnc in philly. >> good morning, it's pancakes and politics and eggs and hash browns in my face this morning. good morning to you, steve and good morning to you at home. i met a new buddy. his name is francis. good morning. >> good morning, anna. how are you? >> i'm fantastic. thanks for asking in the "60 minutes" interview with hillary clinton last night, she feels like she's held to the different standard than other politics. what do you think? >> i think she's the biggest liar that came upon politics in this country. there was a lady, she and her husband complained about being broke and now they're the richest in washington, d.c. she used her job as secretary of state to shake down every country in this world for her and her husband. she's a liar, she's a thief and she should be in jail. >> wow. wow, strong words, francis. you used to be a democrat you say. what makes you so disenchanted with the democratic party?
5:41 am
>> the democrat party left the people of this country. all they want is the power. the left wingers have taken over. i see that when i was in politics. i was in 16 years in politics. i'll tell you, you can't trust them anymore. so i flipped. >> wow. all right. well, that's all the time we have you. do you know what you're going to order? >> i sure do. eggs benedict. >> eggs benedict. i hear the steak and eggs are good too. thank you so much. back to you. >> thank you, anna. let's hand it over to heather who has some headlines. >> good morning. we have been following this breaking news story this morning. we have brand-new information just in to the newsroom about another horrific shooting. this happened in a nightclub in ft. meyers, florida. it was packed with teenagers. police told me minutes ago that the shooting does not appear to be terror related but rather appears to be gang related. in the meantime, some chilling dispatch audio coming out. begins to paint the terrifying picture of these defenseless

kids running from their -- running for their lives. listen. >> we have a gun shot victim in the middle of the parking lot. >> we need nor units on the parking lot. >> security guard down, included inside. >> and -- the parking lot. >> another victim over here on the evans side. get me somebody over here. >> three adult males now in custody. they are being questioned by police. lee memorial hospital that's in ft. meyers telling me they treated 18 patients. one of those patients sadly died at the hospital. we do not know the age or the identity of the deceased. three are still in that hospital. one is listed in critical condition. the other is in serious. and the third thankfully expected to be okay. the shooting victims range in age from 12 years old to 27. the two who died were both males. now, one of the victims posting this chilling video from his

hospital bed. the club by the way advertised the event for teenagers as a women suit glow party. witnesses say they heard about 30 gunshots. bystanders believe they may have come from several weapons but police cannot confirm that at this time. this night club shooting happening just a month and a half after the pulse nightclub shooting occurred in orlando, florida, killing 49 people. that's the latest on that situation. i'll bring you more as we get it. those are your headlines, gang. >> thank you, heather. last week protesters they burned the american flag at the rnc, you remember that. pete hegseth was there. he took them on. >> so tell me to my face why you hate this flag. >> [ bleep ] you and america. >> do you hate america? >> do i hate america? yes. >> well, this morning pete is back to counter that awful message. come on up, pete.
5:47 am
well, last week pete hegseth got right in the middle of the protests in cleveland. people there were burning the american flag. >> they started to pull out a flag and started to try to light it. tell me why you hate america. >> i'm a veteran -- >> good for you. i appreciate your service. why do you hate america? anybody else who hates america want to talk to me? >> america was never great! >> do i hate america? i mean, yeah. >> why do you cover your face? >> because i can. >> why don't you have the courage to pull it down? i had interpreters in iraq that would cover their face with me
5:48 am
because people would kill them if they found out their identity in that country. >> there he was, pete hegseth wearing a flag hat. >> that's right. come and take it. >> you here in philly. you have a different messages that last week. >> we saw how professional the police were in cleveland. we wanted to come here to philly. the rally last night was larger than anything we had seen in cleveland. so they're anticipating a lot of push-back potentially. so we walked the streets to talk to the police. these are two gentlemen we talked to last night. again, we walked up to them and we said, hello. they were a little worried there might be a target on their back. specifically these two gentlemen saying we're doing our job. always been a threat, but we're worried because of the rhetoric in our politics today. >> what neighborhood are they in? >> right downtown. city hall. >> where all the action was yesterday. >> this is a 20 year veteran we decided not to use names. it's not necessary. he talked about how it's not all about black lives matter or blue lives matter, how come we don't care as much about the young
5:49 am
black child killed as the others? two philly cops and a state trooper. she said, we feel prepared but no doubt there's more anxiety on the city right now. the one on the right said a lot of police officers are frustrated with what we have heard a double standard about police lives and black lives matter. >> sure. they have to be concerned about the -- there's some more -- >> these two gentlemen, they're sergeants or above. they want to be more noticeable in public. so the protesters and others can come up to them and talk to them. again, they have been coordinating with protesters for months, to make sure they know what is going to happen. everyone is worried about the agitators, whether it's anonymous or black lives matter -- >> the guys with the masks. >> the guy with the mask. they're ready to go. they want information from the public. and this force has seen a loot. >> their safety is always on their minds, but more than ever when they kiss their spouses good-bye or kiss their kids good-bye in the morning just to go to work, i'm sure this weighs
5:50 am
heavy on them. >> one more reminder. they said we're ready, prepared. we want to de-escalate. but one bad actor can change that. we hope it's more balanced from the stage than what we have seen so far. >> excellent reminder to thank our cops and throughout the day when we see cop, we'll take pictures and put them on. >> never forget. >> thank you, pete. coming up, hillary clinton thinks she's being held to an unfair standard. the republicans are picking on her. so is she right? we'll read your comments about the hillary scandal coming up. but first, bill and martha, what's coming up on their show? you're inside the arena. >> hey, good morning. >> day one, huh? >> day one, we're ready to roll. we have brand-new post convention polls to show you for donald trump that are very interesting. the whole point of this, again, to get a bounce out of the exposure you get during your convention. we'll show you how the numbers look at this. >> and the disarray among the democrat, you want to come together and express a unified feeling. that's far from the case so far today.
5:51 am
we have great republicans and great democrats coming up over the next two hours as we kick off day one. keep half an eye on donald trump this week. very important. see you at the top of the hour. day one from philly on america's newsroom. you've wished upon it all year, and now it's finally here. the mercedes-benz summer event is back, with incredible offers on the mercedes-benz you've always longed for. but hurry, these shooting stars fly by fast. lease the cla250 for $299 a month at your local mercedes-benz dealer. mercedes-benz. the best or nothing.
5:54 am
i often feel like there's a hillary standard an then a standard for everybody else. >> what is the hillary standard? >> there's a lot as you saw at the republican convention unfounded, inaccurate, mean spirited attacks with no basis in stroout -- in truth, reality. which take on a life of their own. for whatever reasons, i don't want to try to analyze the reasons, i see it. i understand it. people are very willing to say
5:55 am
things about me to make accusations about me that are -- are i don't get upset about them anymore. but they're very regrettable. >> that doesn't bother me. >> well, welcome back to the fox studios and the biggest tent in the world. we're shaking our world, hillary doesn't want to figure out why she's a target, she just knows she's a target and tim kaine agrees. and clayton morris -- you're apart? >> we don't trust ourselves. when did the powerful and richest people in the world see themselves as victims. the president does it too. poor me. it's disgusting. >> well people on social media fired up and this meme is going around. the hillary standard. you can hash tag, things that bother you in your life. bonnie said that the hillary standard exists because anyone
5:56 am
else would be in jail, not running for presidency of the united states. >> yeah. >> another big one story on -- not on twitter but in the internet is the fact that #dnc leaks regarding all of the wikileaks thing was trending on twitter and then taken down mysteriously. >> over the past few weeks twitter has taken on controversial twitter accounts, banned them, closed them down. they have been saying we'll go after aggressive twitterers and they have removed 400,000 tweets that were set up with the #dnc leaks. it was the number one trending topics and it dropped to 6,000 tweets and then they put it back up. they removed the "s," without the plural, and now no one can really find the hash tag. it's as if it vanished, gone away. >> i wonder why that is. >> so twitter is in the tank too. all right. >> thanks, guys. >> tucker? >> unbelievable. >> day one of the dnc. we'll be right back.
5:59 am
safety doesn't come in a box. it's not a banner that goes on a wall. it's not something you do now and then. or when it's convenient. it's using state-of-the-art simulators to better prepare for any situation. it's giving offshore teams onshore support. and it's empowering anyone to stop a job if something doesn't seem right. at bp, safety is never being satisfied. and always working to be better.
