i was all set. then, i got a call from a highly respected governor. how is it going governor? i said it's going good but they're saying bad things about me. i was going to hit one guy so hard, a very hill guy. his head would spin. he won't know what the hell happened. he came out of nowhere. >> joining us now with reaction from dallas, trump campaign national spokeswoman katrina pearson. the very little guy, i'm guessing he tweeted about little michael bloomberg. is that who he was talking about? >> well, m trump didn't say, so i won't say, but your inferance could be spot on. and the quotes are really
8:03 pm
indicative of why mr. trump is beating her in the polls right now. we have a candidate willing to stand up and fight back for a change. >> it was very attack, kind of shocked me a little bit, too. this is what politics are all about. let's talk about what you just mentioned, mrs. clinton's comments. she was hitting mr. trump pretty hard on this tweeting issue. now, donald trump has done very well with twitter but she says because you can instigate a twitter fight with him, he may not be the guy that has access to the nuclear button. >> this is why mrs. clinton struggle was younger people, this is a medium of choice, and one of the ways mr. trump has been able to fight back against the liberal media and twitter has been a great resource for mr. trump. there are millions of millenn l
8:04 pm
millennials on twitter getting his message. >> the word is that he and mrs. clinton will be receiving national security briefings coming very soon. what will donald do with those? >> he's going to seriously. he said he wants to take in the information and let the generals make the decision. what we know with hillary clinton is that there is no mention of what was going to be changed and we hear talk about her resume and qualifications but what is really important is the decisions she made when she had those titles like when she was secretary of state and we have had an innuchl -- influx of refugees. her plan is to have more intelligence. why didn't she do that when she was secretary of state? we know she had intelligence and misused that intelligence as
8:05 pm
well as when people died under her watch, she lied about it. >> donald trump's campaign is suggesting maybe hillary clinton shouldn't have these briefings because of what happened with the e-mails. hillary clinton camp says donald shouldn't have it because of russia looking for 33,000 e-mails. where -- did he mean -- was he serious about that? >> it's tongue in cheek which is why he included the press will be thankful in that comment. mr. trump is right. you have had the department of justice reopen the investigation into hillary clinton's e-mails certainly because there needs to be an investigation and if that person worked for him, mr. comey said, they would have losed their security clearance. mr. trump hasn't done anything that can thwart national security. hillary clinton has. that is the problem. that is the difference.
8:06 pm
that is why you're seeing at this last convention, people are still wondering, is she going to address the e-mail situation? is she going to talk about benghazi? it's why her poll numbers have tanked and i think it's important moving forward. >> katrina, last night one of the most compelling speakers for me was the father of the muslim u.s. soldier from virginia who was killed in action and he said, donald, you haven't sacrificed anything. how do you respond to something like that? it was an emotional moment. >> it was absolutely an emotional moment. and you know, everyone sympathizes with any parent that lost a child under any circumstances. but if we go back to day one of the dnc convention, where there was not a single american flag in the arena and there was a palestinian flag and on the outside of the arena they were burning american flags as well as as israeli flags in their
8:07 pm
protest. we have a situation where we have to put american citizens first. we cannot delay this any longer, it's unfortunate we've lost lives because of terrorism. but, we have hundreds of millions of people in this country we cannot succumb to people's feelings. it's about national security and the best interest of the people that are here and the policies that even bill clinton letting osama bin laden go, moving forward 15 years we've been in a war hillary clinton says we need to work with our allies. where has that been this whole time? >> before we go, as a woman, do you feel a sense of history being made here? with hillary being the first female candidate in america? >> i don't. it was actually a little an anti-klimactic for myself, but
8:08 pm
not someone who collected $22 million from special interests and trade and global corporations and out there, lying to the american public. it is what barack obama said in 2008. hillary clinton will say anything and change nothing. and most americans realize that. >> thank you very much. now let's bring in bernard whitman. you listened to katrina pierson making a compelling come back about hillary clinton's speech. >> here is what katrina and donald trump does not get. we're in this together. this is the most profound moment to me in the entire convention. i think that she needs a sharp
8:09 pm
contrast with donald trump's vision with america. i think she nailed it. i think she needed to be real. >> do you think she was? to be transparent and heart felt? what i heard was yes, the beginning of the speech was like that, but the meat was attacking donald trump. >> democrats and the country, she took advance -- >> she made a great effort to draw cheer distinctions about how we have two different world views. one, we're stronger through diversity, inclusive, optimistic, we believe this country is the greatest on earth. in cleveland all you heard was negativity, talking down on military and veterans, complaining. donald trump has to -- >> sacrifice, did she not?
8:10 pm
>> she said things are great. >> you can look in the camera and tell people things are great. and saying our wages aren't enough. our enemployment is too high. growth, gdp, subpar. >> that is why she said thank you bernie sanders for bringing issues of social justice to the front. we've created 15 million jobs and has it been enough? absolutely not. her first days in office are going to be putting together the biggest job programs since world war ii. >> it felt like this is the third term president obama. she delivered what president obama would have been delivering. am i wrong? >> i don't think it's the third term of president obama or bill clinton. it will be the first term, and hopefully second term of hillary rodham clinton. >> why?
8:11 pm
what is different? >> she is committed to bringing people together. president obama was challenged with working with the other side. >> where is she different from president obama? >> it's a great question, eric. i think moderate republicans and conservative leaning independents, hillary clinton has three decades of working across the aisle to do things like provide health care to 8 million children. >> does experience being qualified? >> there is no question she is more qualified than trump. >> next on the run down, what is the answer to a final 100 day sprint to elections? stay tuned for lower back pain sufferers,
8:12 pm
the search for relief often leads to this. introducing drug-free aleve direct therapy. a high intensity tens device that uses technology once only in doctors' offices. for deep penetrating relief at the source. new aleve direct therapy. with toothpaste or plain water.an their dentures and even though their dentures look clean, in reality they're not. if a denture were to be put under a microscope, we can see all the bacteria that still exists on the denture, and that bacteria multiplies very rapidly.
8:13 pm
8:15 pm
. >> joining us now with reaction from washington republican pollster and with us is the president of ndn a left think tank. i can't believe it. democrats finished and they're still tied. >> i'm just kidding. give us a sense of what you think we'll get. >> if we're ahead by the end of the week, i think democrats will be happy. democrats know it's going to be a close race. there is no victory laps going on. no. we went through a tough election we thought we're going to win and didn't at the end. i think democrats are committed and focused. and other thing to watch, though, what happens in the state poll?
8:16 pm
>> it is pretty jammed up. those battle ground states are tied up. . >> i think, did hillary clinton get the sanders voters? . >> i think we -- i will tell you that i think the clinton campaign did a far better job bringing bernie along than i thought was going to happen. i think we're in far better shape and feel good about where we are now. >> kristin, did you think hillary brought the sanders voters along? to, you know, until the end? >> there is a big section in her speech where she pivoted in describing donald trump's character and making that case to focusing on progressive issues, talking about repealing citizen's united, and talking about the things that the democratic party base gets excited about. early in the convention you have
8:17 pm
elizabeth warren speak and bernie sanders speak. it's the early night focused on let's heal the party, hillary clinton didn't drop that message. even when giving her acceptance speech on thursday night. i think she's focused on all the way up until the end, after she secured the nomination, making sure these folks don't go rogue again. >> did donald trump unify the republicans and outsider army he's compiled? >> what is interesting about donald trump's speech is that did he not make a lot of overtures to ideological conservatives. hillary clinton was making overtures to ideological left.
8:18 pm
and speaking to folks that are just frustrated and think things are on the wrong track. it is interesting to see how they're trying to build their coalition and what extent think think ideological bases matter. >> i spent a lot of time in philadelphia. i will tell you bernie sanders voters are not in line. you may say they are and do you walk around there and are trying to say they don't want democrats for the sake of the democrats. they're a different breed. and they've got donald trump voters keeping them away from the polling place in november. >> it's possible. you know? look. we'll see where we are next week. certainly, i think both candidates are going to get 45% to 46% no matter what happens, right? trump was underperforming and you've seen him get a bounce because he's reclaiming real
8:19 pm
estate. the question is 45, 46. we've got work to do. i think we did a good job. i bernie sanders said he's going to campaign vigorously with secretary clinton and i think we're going to need it to bring them along. >> they're young, they're mad. i don't think they're going to vote for her no matter what. >> i just -- 10 seconds. 68% of recent cnn polls say hillary clinton is not honest, not trust worthy. can she turn that around? >> it's going to be very hard. she's got to make the message clear. you may not trust me, may not think i'm honest but at least i'm going to keep america safe. donald trump is a risk. that is the message she tried to drive on thursday night. >> thank you very much. up next, family members of fallen police officers are speaking out at the convention last night. because it just a hollow gesture by democrats? the debate, moments away.
8:20 pm
i jumped at the chance to take the dna test through ancestry and my results ended up being african, european and asian. it was great because it confirmed what i knew in my gut with a little surprise. ancestry helped give me a sense of identity. with this level of intelligence... ...it's a supercomputer. with this grade of protection... it's a fortress. and with this standard of luxury... it's an oasis. introducing the completely redesigned e-class. it's everything you need it to be... and more. see your authorized dealer for exceptional offers through mercedes-benz financial services. mercedes-benz. the best or nothing. once i left the hospital after a dvt blood clot. what about my wife... ...what we're building together... ...and could this happen again? i was given warfarin in the hospital, but wondered,
8:21 pm
was this the best treatment for me? i spoke to my doctor and she told me about eliquis. eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots and reduces the risk of them happening again. not only does eliquis treat dvt and pe blood clots. but eliquis also had significantly less major bleeding than the standard treatment. knowing eliquis had both... ...turned around my thinking. don't stop eliquis unless you doctor tells you to. eliquis can cause serious, and in rare cases, fatal bleeding. don't take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. if you had a spinal injection while on eliquis call your doctor right away if you have tingling, numbness, or muscle weakness. while taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily... and it may take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. eliquis treats dvt & pe blood clots. plus had less major bleeding. both made switching to eliquis right for me. ask your doctor if it's right for you.
8:24 pm
democrat diego police officers are being shot and one today was murdered. i hooked and saw from the giping, when debbie wasserman schultz was removed she was replaced by stephanie rawlins blake. the mayor of baltimore decided rioting was going to be okay. if black lives matter wanted to riot, they were going to be allowed to riot. >> well, let me back up. she never said you're ahowed to riot and it wasn't a black lives matter riot. she said we have to protect our officers safety.
8:25 pm
said said we're going to give them space to riot. >> why does a mayor make a decision about whether the police are going shove sent numbers to be protected? that is not her job and she should keep your nose out of it. the cops decide whether or not they can go forward. >> the chief of the police made the same decision. who was the chief of police. >> who did he work for some. >> rather than rehashing her decisions then was that the right choice to make for the chair woman of the democratic convention? it is controversial. i think everyone is looking for guidance on what is going to happen in the relationship between the community and police department. i think no one is better than bringing controversy up an alleged deal. we saw the fily of shane police officers talking to the crowd wech saw the sheriff from dallas speaking to the crowd about what is going on in this country. it's a conversation we need to
8:26 pm
have. >> hey, judge, during some of the speeches of family members, one police officer was speaking there was yelling if the crowd black lives matter. >> and i have to tell you, i have a problem with that. the whole concept of black lives matter is that the genesis, it began in ferguson with trayvon martin and michael brown. so it was based on a lie, hands up, don't shoot. this movement is based on something that is not true. and here is the bottom line. as a prosecutor i prosecute a cop who didn't do their job but there is a social contract had this country. we have vij hanty justice if we don't follow it. that means police do their job. you don't like what they do, then, you make a complaint. you don't kill cops because
8:27 pm
they're white. >> and do you think it was wise that people who put this together to have the mothers of eric garner michael brown and others, have them first and talk about how their sons and children were killed by cops? why not bring the parents together? bring those mothers and family members and have a moment of unity. that would have worked. >> i'm glad judge pirro brought up the social contract we have. the great power, the great honor that we give police department comes a great responsibility. life and liberty are at stake every time an officer goes into the streets. the life and liberty of order yi americans. that is what the families represented. people who lost life and liberty. all of them. on both sides. we have to have this type of dialogue not just people on one side with talking points and
8:28 pm
racing to another side with talking points but a real conversation about how it's affecting both people. when i looked at the officer, one who died in baton rouge. i looked at his facebook status. when he's not in uniform, he's looked at with suspicion. >> you're preaching to the choir right now. my issue is that there is a democrats could have used to bring unity through law enforcement and black lives matter and mothers of sons killed by officers. >> but there is no moral he kwi kwi kwifl -- equivalent there. michael brown was a thug who had a gun. i'm sorry. if a cop -- well -- >> charles kinzy was a therapist
8:29 pm
helping an autistic patient shot with his hands up on his back. >> okay. why is trayvon martin -- >> we have both sides. >> no. both sides here. the police have the power and obligation to protect them. it's not a negotiation. it's not something whereñi you have -- >> they have to have transparency and accountability for that power. >> no. the people cannot take it into their hands. the courts do it. >> we're going to have to leave it this. a hot debate. it's going to stick around for a while. judge, thank you very much. >> directly ahead, the head of the fbi sounding new alarms about isis threats to the homeland since donald trump or hillary clinton have the right plan to take them on? we'll be right back with that.
8:33 pm
8:34 pm
to have hundreds of people that are going to flow out towards western europe. but right next door to western europe. and this is an order of magnitu magnitude donald trump says and is a quote, i know more about isis than the generals do. no donald. you don't. you really think donald trump has temperament to be commander in chief? >> joining us now from philadelphia, and washington, former deputy assistant secretary. i'm listening to james comey. that is a pretty dire prediction. there is going to be a terror
8:35 pm
network. look at our borders. they're just as swiss cheese as europe's are. >> sounds to me like the fbi director supports donald trump's plan to secure the borders to keep us safe. i wish hillary clinton shared these ideas with president obama over the last eight years and president obama didn't listen to generals. >> president obama said he wanted more syrian refugees to come in here. he wanted tens of thousands. given what we hear from james comey is this a good strategy? if she?
8:36 pm
comey and they lost there is a last stand we're going to go into mows yul in two months at earliest maybe at the latest in six months. there will be people and some of them and in the us right now, that is not what is causing hillary clinton. >> either that and this space is won. is this a smart strategy to take in syrian refugees? isis is being defeated on the battlefield. maybe trump is right.
8:37 pm
stop all refugee programs. >> i served in iraq. and i worked with iraqi who became deputies to work people with the u.s. in iraq and iraqi refugee was syrian refugees who are, as comey points out, not me are likely isis fighters. >> remember, the program isn't what worked for those democracies and we only take a small number of syrian refugees now. none of them engage in terrorism. >> go back to what we're doing in 2012, 59,000 people from countries other than mexico including yemen and pakistan, syria, iran were called coming into this country.
8:38 pm
how about thousands who have middle eastern names to changed their names to fool authorities? and don't forget the radical imam who called for assassination and execution of the dangerous cartoonist. >> do you think angela merckl sex rethinking this idea of taking in refugees as a good idea? >> she's got to. you've got to. it's great for people wanting to come here. but radical islam is a challenge of our time. he wants to keep america safe. that is why we have a fof. >> david, 10 seconds. final thoughts. >> the refugees are not what is causing terrorism here, none of the terrorist attacks in the u.s. have been caused by refugees. yes we have to monitor the
8:39 pm
program and yes we have to vet reviewie reviewy -- refugees but we shouldn't turn off the program. the middle eastern gulf countries should take more of the refugees. >> keep america safe first. >> keep it right there, gentlemen. coming up, former navy s.e.a.l. and friend of chris kyle sounds off about the grim state of the war on terrorism. right after this defiance is in our bones.

moosh. >> i joined the navy in response to september 11th. and i realized that some point i was going to meet the enemy on the battlefield. it's a business decision out there. we're instruments to carry out, you know, operations on the enemy. it is what i was trained to do. >> there was portions in your book, you celebrate blowing their heads off. they're almost like animals to you guys. the muge. >> i won't say animals but really bad people. >> based on what? >> based on their actions. what they did to the cities. ramadi was the focus. we did tribal engagement model. they helped us identify the bad people. >> what did they do? >> you're looking at car bombings, sue sides, mass
8:45 pm
killings. that is what we saw, but -- >> torture some. >> absolutely. and we're willing to beat that. and the problem with what happened in 2006 is that we won. and we didn't stay the course. >> we didn't stay in iraq. >> that shows that battle in the surge was won. do you believe people that you fought in iraq are the same kind of people that were fighting in isis now? the same guys? >> i think they're level two to go ahead and operate feely. they have a wider reach. >> due ever feel sorry for a guy you killed? >> no. every person we engaged was a bad person. they met the rules of engagement by their government and actions and we eliminated them accordingly. >> when you worked with kyle and were an advisor on the movie, was there a difference between
8:46 pm
your mentality and chris kyle's? >> i think in a small capacity because i was the new guy. this was my first deployment. i became more comfortable well. had a same indifference to the enemy. these are the bad guys. they harm our brothers and sisters and it's our job to get them. >> so there wasn't any remorse or conscience or anything like that. you felt this was the right thing to do? morally right thing to do and you're doing it? >> absolutely. the violence, we met them back with the same amount of violence. >> thr people in the united states that don't like you. and don't like chris kyle and feel you're bad because you're doing these things. have you debated them? >> not specifically. what i want to do with the booth
8:47 pm
is show these people go to do the job. you know? who do they call? they call special operations. we talked about meeting the enemy with ruthless aggression because they're ruthless to our people. >> back here, nobody taken you to tas snk. >> no. i wanted this to be the reason why. to show them why we did it. >> it's a fascinating book. thank you. >> thank you. >> when we come back, an ugly report casting fears about the american economy. which presidential candidate will be best for your financial security, up coming.
8:51 pm
in the back of the book segment, the presidential candidates and your financial security. if you listened to hillary clinton, the economy has practically never been better. >> i don't think president obama and vice president biden get the credit they deserve for saving us from the worst economic crisis of our lifetime. our economy is so much stronger than when they took office. nearly 15 million new private sector jobs. 20 million more american was health insurance. and an auto industry that just had its best year, ever.
8:52 pm
now, that is real progress. >> just hours after the speech, the commerce department released a report about the u.s. economy -- economic growth coming in less than half of what economists were expecting. >> they're in the talking about the fact that many people in our country are making less money today in terms of real wages than they're making 18 years ago. they're not talking about the fact that our jobs are leaving our country. that our jobs are pulling into mexico. >> joining us now from tampa with reaction, jessica earlich. you heard hillary clinton taking cred foit for amazing things that president obama did. yet, donald trump points out
8:53 pm
wages have been stagnant and why is this a victory lap? >> it's the way she started out it's going to be an incredible platform as she went on her bus tour through working class areas focused on the middle class, economy, making sure that we had more jobs going forward. >> what happens when you do bus tours and i know. you're going through small towns. these aren't people that are stock traders. they're average people who aren't experiencing the growth and euphoria. >> we were into a massive melt
8:54 pm
down that was going to lead us to a depression worse than we had in the 30s. we were able to avoid that. is this more growth to be had? chutely. the differences have got to change. we need equal pay for women. these things have to happen. >> right. >> as jessica points out growth, we have half of the gdp. >> liberal policy is killing community banks. dodd frank killed community banks, particularly banks owned by people of color. african americans. people are not living the american dream because of dodd-frank. >> american people don't the care about the banks. >> well let's talk about wages and just the economy. so i heard no recognition of the financial crisis and responsibility created by
8:55 pm
democrats who forced banks to lend to subpar boroughers. >> i don't have a lot of time. tell me the difference between president obama's economic policy and hillary clinton's because i can't find it. >> there is. what we're going to see i think more with hillary is what we had under bill clinton. i think there is going to be more smart regulation. >> oh, great. great. more regulation. i have to go. sorry. >> no. no. >> up ahead, two things from absolutely not miss on tv this weekend. we've got special sneak peeks rbiing. if you've gone to extremes to escape your nasal allergies. try clarispray. new, from the makers of claritin. and nothing is more effective at relieving your sneezing, runny nose and nasal congestion. return to the world.
