the lying hillary clinton. she lied to chris wallace on a couple of issues on sunday. stay with that. that's where you're going to excel as a candidate, not trying to hit her or hit other -- defend himself against, you know, the military families. he even went after, i think, some of the fire warden at one of his events. stay off that stuff. this is about you against a flawed candidate in hillary clinton. keep exposing all the flaws in her. i think he will do a good job with all that. >> president obama, too. he made it clear he's running, too, today. >> yeah. yep. >> third term. >> i think what he did today was unbelievable with the prime minister of singapore sitting there, he decides to domesticate it and take shots, as if he's running against donald trump. >> we'll take a listen to that and get dana to respond. >> yes. i think the republican nominee is unfit to serve as president.

i said so last week. and he keeps on proving it. what does this say about your party that this is your standard bearer? and that's not just my opinion. that is the opinion of many prominent republicans. there has to come a point at which you say, enough. >> okay. dana, what do you think about this whole thing? >> can i go back to the beginning? >> absolutely. >> it's astounding in order to get off the con story that you don't go to the issue that we have of abysmal economic growth, lowest homeowner recordship since they started making records. lease so many things you can go down the list on to attack hillary clinton and say there's no change here. to call her the devil, i don't think that's going to work so well. for obama, i think -- i understand the temptation. he is very good at campaigning. he probably thinks that hillary clinton is not that good at campaigning. he probably thinks he's offering

her assistance. i don't think that's true. in this setting, when you're sitting with another world leader and you're talking about -- on the merits, trade, whatever it is. if you are asked about trump, don't take the bait. say i was at the convention. you have my speech. there will be plenty of time to talk about that another time. right now i'm here with the leader of singapore. let's talk about that. that's what i think he could have done. on donald trump, let's say it was a great tactic. if you think it was a great tactic to go after hillary clinton and pivot. that's fine but that won't be the news story in the next few hours because donald trump came out and attacked paul ryan and john mccain. now you have more intra- party war fare. >> saying he won't support -- >> he's not prepared to support them after they stuck their necks out for him. it wasn't just paul ryan and john mccain that had to distance themselves on the con comments. every republican that has a tough race. acott. it's like a wholesale destruction of the republican party when he actually has everything going for him if he

christie, his whole army, let us attack everybody else. that's been my rule in politics, which is you run against one person. don't run against the world. >> dana? >> smart. and it's traditional. and it's how the establishment has run campaigns for years. donald trump doesn't like it and it's not in his instincts. all these people around him are trying to help him. they are putting themselves out there and saying, okay, i'll be with you. i'll be with you. then they get a memo. you can't say that. wait. don't say that either. wait. donald trump has a responsibility here to help them help him. they can't just be out there doing it all on their own. rudy is right -- excuse me, mr. mayor. i would never call you rudy just by your first name. i think the mayor is absolutely correct, that that is what he can focus on. i don't think calling her the devil would be the best way to do it. there are so many things he could say on the merits especially when it comes to the

economy. it is true, the story about the economy, abysmal numbers that came out friday with 1.2% economic growth last quarter. that story got buried by the con remarks. it doesn't mean that story is dead. that is what the numbers were from the quarter. there are a lot of other numbers in there. i know you want to move on. anyway, i think the mayor is right. >> i want to move on but hit that point you're talking about, the economy. >> those are excellent point. >> mac a billboard out of it. >> those are typical political points and donald trump is atypical. it's not just here. you hear it everywhere else. he did well in the primary but has to pivot back to the more traditional campaign for the general and he's saying, no, i don't. and who are we to sit here and say, you crushed it in the primary, 16 opponents, took them out early, when no one else thought you could. why should he pivot to a traditional? >> to win. >> nine points he's trailing by. >> today.

it's the feirst day after -- >> has he stopped the bleeding with what he's saying? anything he has done stop the bleeding he started inflicting on himself? >> no. it's worse than you describe. dana says people are trying to help him. on the numbers, fund-raising, in terms of campaign staffing, he is trailing badly. >> $56 million. raise $110 million. >> no one with him right now is basically aiming at three states. they don't even have money comparable to what hillary clinton has. and, remember, hillary clinton has already run hundreds of ads, thousands of ads. >> she's overstaffed. >> he has not run any ads. the super pac is. so to get out voters, you say he's atypical. you want to get voters out. >> i heard the same arguments in the primary. he will never become the nominee with this strategy. >> it's a different audience. >> now it's a general election. dana, i understand what you're

saying. there's a lot of toorl for him to work with. >> sure. >> he has her on the merits in terms of the abysmal economic growth. all those numbers are strong suits for him in addition to the lack of ethics, loose relationship with the truth. someone who struggles with integrity. all these things he can use to mobilize his strategy to gain more votes. >> it's all right there. his for the taking. >> what would you hit with first thing tomorrow morning if you're in charge of that campaign? >> actually, i'm done trying to give advice because, obviously, if it's too -- i'm just too typical of a person to give advice that would actually help a campaign. >> right. >> i don't know what i would tell him to do. i guess i could say be yourself, knock yourself out. i'll sit back and watch with. i think it's very interesting. the demographics that are changing the country are very interesting. but i think on the advice front, i'm out. >> what happened monday? bombing libya. a failed operation that she recommended. they have to go rebomb again.

see that trust does matter. it's really destroyed her credibility. now, she could still win even by continuing this line. she will be leading a country where two-thirds of the people don't trust her. you can't transform our politics. you can't do half of the things that she wants to do that need to be done if people don't trust her. that's the miscalculation they're making. >> distrust bad for both candidates, about 55%. and baked in. they haven't moved at all. ron fournier expanded on those thoughts? >> he had this interview and basically said he's not a trump fan to say the least but right now she should have put this away already except for the fact that she has a problem with the truth. she's flat out lying. he watched fox news sunday with chris wallace, he could not believe the fearless way in which she attacked the truth. i think the term was she lacked a total explanation on her e-mails and overall her actions during the investigation was an assault on the freedom of information act. he is saying, i've been covering

you since '86 and this is beyond compare. in today's america, trust matters. in bill clinton's era, trust didn't matter as much. they seem to have learned the wrong lesson. >> it could be the opposite, that trust used to matter a lot more than it does now. >> why did george bush 41 lose to bill clinton even though his trust numbers were through the roof? >> i think it was the economy, stupid. to quote james carville. >> i was going to say, is she going to say that? yes, she went there. >> i think it's very important. that's why it's one of the points trump should hammer home. they both have high unfavorables but hillary clinton hillary own this is issue by virtue of the fact pattern. when you look at benghazi, the families, e-mail server, the disregard. the rules don't apply to us. look at the clinton foundation. there's a tremendous amount of material to work with there, to sort of just cloud her in that. and you see in some of the exit

polls, it does matter. people have a problem with it. because she should be doing far better than she is. she is not a good campaigner. i think she is a vulnerable candidate. it's ripe for the picking because she has a lot of holes in which you can hit her on and do some serious damage. >> her numbers got a little worse, eric, when james comey came out, the fbi director, and said this is what we found. they did not indict her. but that's when her poll numbers started to go down. they bounced back up after the convention. maybe this is where it is baked in solid cake for her, she's seen as dishonest by 55% of the people. >> after the convention sunday is when she lied again byb what james comey -- didn't hear him correctly and then chris wallace played the tape. wait until you start getting into -- i know we'll talk about the clinton foundation in a second. let's talk about this for a second. hillary clinton became secretary of state in 2009. that's nine years after bill clinton left office. right? the first time bill clinton started making $500,000 per

speech -- he was making a lot less in the years directly after president. he didn't make start making half a million dollars per speech until 2009 when she became secretary of state. doesn't that smell fishy to you a little bit? in fact, of the 13 times he has ever made $500,000 or more, 11 of them happened under her watch. schweitzer on "hanity." >> the seriousness behind this is we provide technology and have this initiative with the kremlin. and it's going to strengthen relationships between the united states and russia. the problem is that the 28 american companies who participate in this initiative, of those, 17 of them are major clinton foundation donors. and on the russian side, the person that is running this initiative and some of the participants are also giving money to the clinton foundation. it's an example of sort of a kroeny relationship. or the people that are participating have financial ties to the clintons. >> again, another point on the merits, juan, that donald trump could say this is what we're talking about when we talk about the elites are too tied in. they have it all wired up here, even with russia. >> he has a lot of ties with russia. >> where are they? what ties? >> oh, gosh, mannaforte has ties. he has business ties.

arguably, that's one of the reasons he won't put out his tax returns. there may be some backing from russian oligarchs and the like. this is a legitimate issue. >> this issue has always bothered you. >> the clinton foundation issue. whether or not -- i said there's a quid pro quo, then the deals and contributions that came especially from foreign governments while she was secretary of state. i understand the fbi is still looking into this. >> and john podesta sat on a board of a company that took an investment from a putin company. that, according to peter schweizer, if you're talking about ties to russia, aren't they at least x'd out right there? doesn't she want to change the is subject now that this is exposed? unless it's not true. >> imagine if you had someone other than trump running. you would really have an issue. he can't even understand -- >> imagine cutting a deal to sell 25% of uranium production. imagine cutting a deal that they did.

groups are demanding, among other things, reparations, an end to the death penalty and legislation to acknowledge the effects of slavery. education, mental health and jobs programs. so, kimberly -- >> yeah? >> does this strike you as reasonable? >> i don't know. unfortunately for me, when i hear black lives matter, i really think of a group that is, at its core, divisive, that calls for violence, that has no respect for police officers or their families or their lives. so, to me, it's not a group that i think has standing and credibility to be part of a unification and peace process going forward. >> you know, i think it's 43% of american support black lives matter but 36% say something a little different than what you're saying. they say they're unclear on their goals. i would agree. they've never been clear on what they want. >> don't you think you should be

clear about a group and what they stand for before you endorse them or say you can agree? the idea of lives mattering -- of course black lives matter. of course, police officers' lives matter. when did we become so segregated to decide who has the right to announce and say only their lives matter? it's a little bit foreign to me. i have a little bit of a melting pot living in my body. >> what do you mean by that? >> i'm irish puerto rican. we have the best parades. i go to both parades. >> lot of parades. >> yeah. >> they start off by saying they want to end the war on black people. but then they go on to this list of item. >> reparations. >> that stands out in my mind. basically they don't want police departments. >> look, everyone has an agenda. everyone has an idea. everyone has an ideology. the reparations part, what do they suggest? where are the reparations for the officers who are killed?

where are the reparations for the african-americans who are killed inner city? 65 people killed in july in chicago, 400 in 2016 just city of chicago alone. >> amen. >> far exceeds anything going on between an officer and an african-american. >> what's interesting, i would say amen to what you just said about chicago. i wish on their agenda, would have said we, as black people, are going to take responsibility and own this issue and stop the slaughter of black people by black people. but that's not to say it's an illegitimate issue to talk about excessive use of force. >> of course it is. >> okay. >> i have a problem with the reparations part. >> i think it's extreme and invites mockery when we have a serious issue to discuss. dana? >> i thought it was interesting they finally put pen to paper and said here are our list of demands but their list is like really, really long. one of them is education. i thought i would maybe get your thoughts on this. i feel like if they want to change education, there's a

path. they have to start thinking about who they're voting for. today, did you see the news that the charter schools in new york state, new york city for sure -- maybe it's across the state. did far and above better on their tests than -- everybody did a little bit better this year. probably because they changed the test. but the charter school results were just phenomenal compared to the rest of the schools. and so there are ways to change things and to change education and make things better. and those are not privileged white students that are taking those tests. those are a lot of african-american students, minority students. if they really want to change education, where i think all of this starts for the next generation and generation after that, that's a place maybe we could -- >> reading rates right now for african-americans is appalling. if you're thinking about the future dana is describing, why wouldn't you put that at the top of your agenda, brian? >> you're the expert, one of the best in the country at this.

with terrorism. of course we hope that. i think the concern has to be that isis is not like al qaeda in that there are these big catastrophic attacks planned by multiple people where you would have intelligence streams so you can zbrudisrupt them. the perpetrator in nice, wokking with somebody or not, basically pulled that off on his own. you'll have big crowds at these events. if you have one determined terrorist you're going to have a problem. >> kimberly, the attack in brussels was originally supposed to be at a nuke site? belgium. they were going to blow that up some rudimentary way, with a truck bomb or something. you doesn't know what they're capable of. >> they're capable of just about anything. that's what we know, in fact. they can use any means to achieve their goal. they've declared war against christians, that's on the cover of their magazine. they're very clear and specific in their purpose and focus. they're actually executing on it. yeah, if you're evaluating the

threat assessment as it relates to the olympics, i would say it's pretty bad. they even lack the infrastructure to properly protect against these types of attacks. i'm sorry. i'm just telling the truth here. i don't mean to frighten people. they're asking us to train their counterterrorism groups, they lack a core government constituencies able to make change and make sure this is locked down. i don't know. i think it's a huge problem. god help us, mosquitos. isis -- my personal isis. mosquitos. i couldn't go there. you bring me and they'll bite me to death. it's the worst. i'm allergic. >> you can't go to miami either. >> i know. cancel that. >> the training we got was very quick. that doesn't make me feel better, juan. >> no. i understand there were ten people arrested who were involved with some kind of isis activity in brazil. you have ten people. now the judge says they were amateurs and all the rest. still, when you see the propaganda magazine -- by the way, that thing must have been rushed to press. what they've got in there is
