as part of this new future, we will also be rolling out proposals to increase choice and reduce costs in child care, offering much-needed relief to american families. they're suffering. they're suffering. we're going to get them this much-needed relief ivanka, who is here. [applause] >> stand up. she feels so strongly about this. an incredible team of experts. likewise our education reforms will help parents send kids to a school of their choice.
10:01 am
[applause] it would be so good for detroit. we'll also give police and law enforcement funds and support they need to restore law and order to this country. law and order. [applause] thank you. thank you. without security, there can be no prosperity. without security, there can be no prosperity. we must have law and order.
10:02 am
we must have law and order. [applause] and by the way, our police in this country, are are really unrecognized for the incredible job they do. thank you. [applause] in the coming days, we will be rolling out plans on all of these items. one of my first acts as president, will be to repeal and replace disastrous obama care, saving another 2 million american jobs. [applause] we will also rebuild our
10:03 am
military and get our allieses to pay their fair share for the protection we provide to them. saving us countless more billions of dollars to invest in our own country. [applause] we also have a plan on our website for a complete reform of the veteran's administration. [applause] this is something so desperately needed to make sure our vets are fully supported and get the care they deserve which they have not been getting, not even close. [applause] detroit, the motor city, will comeroaring back, roaring back.
10:04 am
[applause] we will offer a new future, not the same old failed policies of the past. our party has chosen to make new history by selecting a nominee from the outside and that is outside of the very, very already proven rigged system. [applause] the other party has reached backwards into the past to choose a nominee from yesterday who offers only the rhetoric of yesterday and the policies of yesterday. just take a look at what happened to new york state manufacturing and take a look at her promises before this happened. a disaster. there will be no change under hillary clinton, only four more
10:05 am
years of weakness and president obama. but we are going to look boldly into the future. we will build the next generation of roads, brimmings, railways and tunnels and sea ports and airports, that believe me, folks is what our country deserves. [applause] american cars, american cars will travel the roads. american planes will connect our cities and american ships will patrol the seas. [applause] american steel, american steel will send new skyscrapers soaring all over our country. we will put new american metal into the spine of this nation.

[applause] it will be be american hands that rebuild this country and it will be american energy, mined from american sources that powers this country. [applause] it will be american workers who are hired to do the job. american workers. [applause] americanism, not globalism will be our new credo. [applause] our country will reach amazing new heights, maybe heights, never attained before. all we have to do is stop relying on the tired voices of
10:07 am
the past. we can fix a rigged system by relying on the people and just remember this, so important. we are relint on people who rigged the system in the past. we can't fix it if we rely on those people again. we can't solve that problem. so we can't solve our problems if we go back and rely on the politicians. that's what we have been doing. only by changeingly to new leadership and new solutions will we get new and great results. >> thank you. we need to stop believing in politicians and start knowledgeing in our -- on believing in our great country.
10:08 am
[applause] before everything great that has happened, the doubters always said it couldn't be done. they say it right now. they actually said it when i ran for political office. not going to happen, he never did it before. it happened, america is ready to prove the doubters wrong. they want you to think small. i am asking you to think big. we are ready to dream great things for our country once again. we are ready to show the world that america is back, bigger and better and stronger than ever before. thank you very much. god bless you. thank you, thank you very much. thank you.
10:09 am
>> donald trump, the republican presidential nominee with a big economic policy speech in front of the detroit economic club. calling for reduced taxes and reduced regulations and america first policy when it comes to trade. joining us now is dan heninger. what did you think? >> i thought it was an excellent speech. look at two things that people have most on their mind. economic anxiety on the democratic and republican side is on people's mind and other thing came out of the opinion polls, 60 or 70 percent think that the country is on the wrong track. as a political matter mr. trump's speech addressed both of those issues by linking hillary clinton to barak obama and the economic policies of the past
10:10 am
that make people feel anxious and proposing a fairly detailed plan. and one great phrase in the campaign. make america great again. that's what voters feel they want to do and finally giving them a path forward. >> for the last couple of weeks. donald trump talked about issues but not the economy. >> not at all. and this was the first important step in a big uphill come back for donald trump. will he go around the country repeating the speech and giving details of his economic plan and simpleifying the tax codes eliminating the death tax and requiring regulators to justify federal regulation. that will appeal to families and to small businessmen and to the corporate types that are having
10:11 am
doubts about mr. trump. >> a family farmer works all of his life and pays taxes and builds up a nice piece of acreage. and when he dies, the government takes 50 percent. >> and a lot of times, you get in these debates, they are talking about multimillionaires, but there is a lot of small business owners who created jobs and companies and employed a lot of people in turn and gave them enemy to raise their families and then when they retire, the government is taking it all back from you. that is what instinctively a lot of americans have been off track and unfair about the way the country was going. he was effective in pointing out, hillary clinton, because she is locked in the bernie sanders and elizabeth warren part of the party, hillary clinton can't propose tax
10:12 am
reductions or pro growth economic policies that trump is talking about p. she has to extend the obama policies that are responsible for the last eight years. >> you called it an uphill climb. does he have time to make the message resonate before november 8th. >> it's not going to be easy. he's falling off in the national polls and down in pennsylvania. and there is time, i think in one sense that donald trump is a unique candidate. she's going to go out there and talk in front of large groups of people. there is a question of of whether he has the organizations on the ground in that the democrats and hillary clinton have in place to knock in doors and turn out voters. donald trump will over come that with with the strength of the message. that is a very strong one and if he pushes it.
10:13 am
he will be able to compete and narrow the gap in the polls. >> we'll see how it resonates. she will speak to the detroit on thursday of this week. >> it will be interesting to see what she proposes in opsigdz. i looked at her website and democratic platform. i don't see growth elements beyond large expenses in federal spending in hillary clinton's plan. >> hillary clinton speaking out against donald trump's plan. and we want to hear from you. do you approve of his new focus on attacking hillary clinton and drawing a contrast of his plan and who he called a candidate of the past. go to foxnews.com/happeningnow to join the conversation.

>> hillary clinton said trump's plan would damage the
10:17 am
mr. trump presenting his speech in the detroit economic club. we appreciate your comments. and joining me is the senior political strategist for consulting and david, nice to have you both. it is split. so far great support for donald trump on line. and some people that have questions, how do you think it went for him? >> it is it a winner for two reasons, one, americans are looking for the beb job creator and not best friend. for the 25 percent of the independents who want to hear ideas for creating jobs, this had ideas that americans like. lowering taxes and getting rid of unnecessary regulations and it also helps donald trump with republicans, he has 83 percent
10:18 am
on the republicans and for those who are not on board the trump train, you you get ten percent more with with him talking about the ideas that house republicans have supported and senate republicans have support issed and many of the legislators put that in practice. >> i am curious jessica, the contrast and theme that donald trump continued to hit. hillary clinton is the candidate of the past and i am of the future and if you want the same result vote for her. something different vote for me. >> i think it is spart. and any day that donald trump reads his teleprompter that effectively is a good day and that is a positive. but david was talking about. donald trump says all of these things. but his numbers don't add up. he will not say i know the appraisals will say i will cost
10:19 am
you jobs or add 10 trillion or i will take you in a recession is not exciting. he will not say that again. hillary clinton's plan says that it is going to give the u.s. 10.4 million jobs in her first term. it was a good speech and he drew the contrast, jenna, saying if you want four years of the same, but if you look at president obama's approval rating. maybe americans are okay with it. >> is it enough? at this point in the campaign. donald trump did not react to protestors and is it enough of a turn to bring in those voters that he hasn't convinced yet? >> yes. this is a message that will bring americanses to the trump campaign. americans are not happy with the
10:20 am
growth rate here. and her record is clear. the ideas she pushed as a u.s. septemberor from new york didn't create the promised 200000 jobses she would create if she was u.s. senator, the idea that hillary clinton pushed don't work and lowered taxes and getting government out of the way. >> jessica, what evident does hillary clinton presents to the voters that she is a job creator. we had a jobs report 255000. and they were lower wage jobs and they should be mediam range and questions if it was back to the tech bubbles. a until sis is shows we get better economic growth under the democrats. and those of us in the center, i
10:21 am
am a centerist democrat and a lot of republicans that are coming over to clinton in droves at this point would like her to be more like bill clinton than president obama, but there is no proof that donald trump is the kind of job creator on a national basis. he has a few success ises and i don't know how much he is worth and he is rich and that is super exciting for him. but not enough to win with a election. >> they are the buildings. >> he puts his name on them and doesn't own them. >> i never been able to do that. i haven't done it yet. >> your day will come. >> and we'll see how this speech plays out. and thank you so much. >> the fbi is asking for the public's help in finding this woman's killer. she's 30 years old and attacked

10:26 am
a fight and died of strangulation. they are urging anyone with information to come forward. joe, a former nypd lieutenant is here. this has national implication because it is a mystery. it is one of those crimes that you think what happened to the girl. she jogged in a desolate area and never comes home. they find her body. but no leads. >> you start with the evidence on hand. apparently she got a grip on who ever it was that assaulted her and the dna may be on her fingernails or clothes depending on the assault. you go on the evidence. and cameras following each piece.
10:27 am
and you piece it together and her movementes and see if anybody followed her. >> it is a sad story, apparently her father jogs with her but he couldn't because of an injury. he was with the police when her body was discovered on the trail. it is desperate. so investigators are going through every blade of grass. >> i would be looking for anything that is potential evidence. and started any rags or clothes or anything that someone might have tossed fresh in the weeds. the investigators know what to look for and better to gather everything. >> the federal land versus the city. nypd and federal working on it.
10:28 am
there is vagrants that live in this desolate area. what kind of profile would you look for? >> a lot of people say it may be personal. but it doesn't have to be that. it could be someone in the area and might be a crime of opportunity, but you don't eliminate. it could be someone she knows, but the nypd and fbi will go through this process and make sure before they make the move that they have the right person. >> one of the reports there were several sex offenders living in that area. is is this where you would start? >> you don't necessarily start there, but you go there and you start with the evidence that you have at hand. her evidence that you had on her. >> she had her cell phone and in the process of texting someone
10:29 am
and that may be distracted and she was midtext. how important is that? >> it is important. that is the last contact she had before her demise. what they will let out at this point is crucial. they will go through every piece of evidence and knowing the guys, i work with. they will make a good arrest. >> you look forward to the arrest, it is such a horrible crime and right now, will they catch who ever they did this? >> what makes it horrific, the father did find her. it could be anyone's daughter like that. >> absolutely, joe, great to see you as always. nice to have your expertise. >> jon, this presidential election will be decided in crucial battleground states. >> what do the polls show for

>> iran announcing it executed a nuclear scientist found get of spying to for the united states. hillary clinton received briefings on this man that went on her e-mail through her private server. here is more intriguing details. >> reporter: the islamic regime
10:34 am
executed the scientist because he gave the u.s. information. under bizarre circumstance ises, he disappeared in a pilgrimmage to mecca. he claimed to have been abducted by the cian is taken to tucson and tortured and he was free and safe. this is what secretary clinton said about him. >> he's been in the united states of his own free will and he is free to go. he's free to go and free to come, these decisions are his alone to make. >> he made it to the pakistani embassy and demanded to it return to iran. even in announcing the execution yesterday, the regime boasted that the u.s. intelligence agency was duped by iran. namericans assume for a while that iran was not aware of this
10:35 am
person's actions or how he was take tone saudi arabia and taken away from there. they imagined that our intelligence was unaware of all of that. >> reporter: in july 2010 when his r iran was finalized, a top energy advisor wrote to clinton deputy chief of staff referring to him as a friend of the united states and how to massage the issue for public consummings. we have a diplomatic issue. our friend has to be given a way out. we should recognize his concerns and frame it with a misunderstanding & with no malevideoulent intent. >> it was forwarded to the private serve isser the fbi concluded that the hostile actors might have gotten access
10:36 am
to it. >> there is is new polling favoring hillary clinton. according to a cbs news poll. clinton is beating trump 49- 37 in virginia. in the west, clinton's only leading trump by two points in nevada and arizona trump leads. and arizona is traditionally a republican state. does this mean that the electoral map is shifting. john hart is editor in chief for opportunity lives and eric shipper is a washington times contributor. >> when you look at the map, what and how would you assess donald trump's chances in those battleground states? >> i don't think it looks good. what's happened, you have a lot of people who have really made
10:37 am
up their mind to a certain extent on several things. number one, is this someone who has the temperament and impulse control to be in charge of the presidency. and also is he prepared and one of the things they are looking at is does he have the knowledge. i don't think it is ability to learn. you don't have to have a mensan iq to be president. but there is a level of intellectual laziness that perceived to be the situation here and donald trump planned on a approach he didn't have to get in the details and that is a murderous thing for him in the polls. >> who, john, do you blame for that? >> donald trump is to blame for his own challenges here. they have a staff problem. and, rick made a couple of key
10:38 am
points. intellectual laziness is a problem for trump. what he did was a soft reset for the campaign and link hillary clinton to the failed policies of the past and that is a sound strategy. he needs a hard reset. and acknowledge the litany of the things that are wrong. and give a mea cullpa speech and then he might have a chance of winning support of independents and his party. a key finding in the virginia poll 79 percent of the republicans support trump. that is insuris mountable problem for him if he doesn't shore up his base. >> eric, sometimes voters don't have long memories. does donald trump really need to do the mea cullpa speech? >> again, i think he brings up a good point. the challenge is, donald trump's
10:39 am
brand is not vulnerability. it is it about power and strength. and so to the extent he begins to be too vulnerable to apologize for all of these things goes against the brand and turn off the people who like him because of the powerful side and strong leader. his challenge is a difficult one when you look at so many generals who say he's mot fit. where he made comments about whether why are we not using nuclear weapons? and these are things that i think are beginning to become issues that are one of the risk management issues for people. and not an ideology. can i protect my family and stay safe? and is life going to end? frank he i don't think that is baked in the numbers yet. >> mammoth university is out
10:40 am
with a new poll. and obviously from this month. donald trump stands at 37 percent, hillary clinton at 50 percent and up by 13 points in the poll. and now, obviously it is a nationwide number and what really matters, john, is the battleground states, but the signs there for the trump campaign are not looking good. >> that's right. we are in the middle of the olympics and the system is rigged but think of the race as a hundred meter dash. democrats have to run 90 and republicans hundred. and the democrats are more popular in the big states and the trump has to do well in the contested states and as we just discussed he's behind in all of
10:41 am
them. and he can't do anything but run a flawless race here. >> eric, the economy is not running on all cylinders. it has been gd, growth has been a nemic in the obama president. can trump toy hillary clinton to that and perhaps you know, reset, drum up enough interest in his campaign he can whittle away at the lead she holds. >> i think it is a smart move and one of the only areas that i think will make a difference. it is one of the biggest areas that people and voters care about. the challenge with that. the job's report was eight years of really extended economy that
10:42 am
came off of a crushing in 2009. and i think a lot of people when you look at unemployment numbers and numbers that are published by the government that most people believe are low. he's working against the forces. and that's not to say many trump voters, that may not have education are not suffering and i feel for these voters. it is like they bought a horse and the horse's owner didn't fully disclose all of the things. maybe some of the bad things. and here's the thing, the issues that matter to trump voters will live on irrespective if trump will win or not. someone else will pick it you up. and that is a positive for the trump voters in the end. >> remember this, the mother of a crying baby who gained noterity in a donald trump rally
10:43 am
is defending the nominee. she joined us next. >> don't worry about that baby, i love babies, actually, i was only kidding, you can get the baby out of here. more? 24/7 access online, on the phone or with the geico app. that is more. go get some mud... all that "more" has to be why they're the second-largest auto insurer. everybody likes more. mhm, i think so. geico. expect great savings and a whole lot more.

10:47 am
you can get the baby out of here. that's all right. don't worry. i think she believed me that i love to have a baby crying while i am speaking. that's okay. >> this is a paramount moment of the week. that baby's mother is setting the record straight now. we only had one angle of donald trump and first of all, thank you for joining us. >> thank you for having me. >> we are happy to have you. and the baby, we asked for an exclusive but he is only year and half. we have a cute picture that we will show the viewers. how did you decide to go to the trump event? >> this is a historical election and a turning point for our country no matter what is

elected. it was last-minute that we got the notification he was there close to our home and it was kind of i don't have -- anything else to do, let's go. >> every parent knows what it is like to have their baby crying in the wrong moment. what happened? donald trump started speaking. >> vinnie was asleep. and he sleep through when donald trump walked on stage and no one ever sat down. everybody was standing and they are like cheering him and it is really loud and you know, i thought for sure he would wake up sooner. but he waited until the quiet moment and started waking up. and so i was was trying to rush to soothe him it didn't work and by this time mr. trump has turned and said his first comment. >> what did you think?
10:49 am
>> i would be blushing and i don't know what i would have done? >> i am sure my face was five shades of red. it was funnier because the whole crowd turned around also with him and they were all looking at me and we were just laughing. they are going what a beautiful baby. and you know, it was so funny because they were going along with him and totally engaged and it was hilarious. >> and you say when he came back and said she actually thought i meant to keep the baby here, it was a joke because we didn't see what you were attempting to do at that time. some people were insulted and saying he kicked the baby out rally. >> i know, it is so crazy. i didn't hear that second half to his comment later on that night and turned on the news and it was all over the place and i
10:50 am
was so caught off dpaurd and what happened was, i couldn't get vinnie to calm down and i was trying to make my way out of the my way out of the aisle. i was dead center in the fourth row. i had to make my way out. i'm assuming i was probably like on my way to the door, if not out of it by the time that he probably looked up and saw me going out the door and probably said his second half of his comment. but even when i got home and i heard it on the news, i laughed, like me and my fiance, husband, whatever you want to call him, we both were just laughing, because mr. trump has got this dry sense of humor that everybody takes so wrong. >> let me just put you on pause there because i have to take a commercial break. as a mother of two children under the age of 2 there's someone always crying in my household, and sometimes it's me, i admit, so i understand what it's like to have this happen at a rally.
