attack, americans will react and that could change voting patterns. almost two years ago, after the paris attack, i put forth a plan to defeat the isis savages. >> here is the strategy. you should deploy. the president of france stated it was an act of war. france is a member of the 28 nation nato alliance, article 5 says that an attack on one country is an attack on all. so, all, 28 nations should begin to organize to crush the isis killers including ground troops, bombings, no fly zones, border security for turkey, jordan, and iraq. once nato declares war on isis, things will radically change. >> the obama administration ignored that advice, and continued far less aggressive action against isis. now, here is a stunning fact. there are 28 nations in the nato

alliance, only 8, 8, are actively fighting against isis. usa, britain, france, canada, belgium, denmark, netherlands and turkey, awes stral gentleman not part of nato but does contribute. where are the other 20 nato countries? president obama's silenced on that question and it is appalling nato has not been organized to address the isis threat. diane finestein agrees, quote, it is now time to recognize that u.s. presidents could enhance the effort to eliminate islamic state to serve as an attack force against islamic faith would make a major impact. and would help eliminate isis safe havens.

correct, we're hoping she'd come on the factor to talk about it but she has declined. you may have noticed there is a pattern morn democratic senators. they're not paranoid but there seems to be an effort to keep democrat politicians off this network. anyway. both hillary clinton and donald trump have put forth strategies. >> my administration will aggressively furs yu joint and coalition military operations to crush and destroy isis. international cooperation to cutoff their funding, expanded intelligence sharing and cyber warfare to disable their propaganda and recruiting. >> we cannot contain isis. we must defeat isis. we need to rely on what actually works. not luster that alienates our partners. >> talking points believes mrs. clinton would likely take a

more aggressive stance than president obama has, but she's not spelled that out yet. what this comes down to is will. barack obama does not have motivation to quickly destroy isis savages. but the present danger is clear. the next terrorist attack is coming at any time. it will be more innocent people slaughtered and nato does little to stop the carnage. what about those poor refugees senator finestein mentioned? who is putting up safe zones where they live? nobody. both candidates should make isis the top priority. and that is a memo now for the top story. reaction, joaning us is john hannah, from the foundation for defensive democracy. who is stronger on isis, mr. hannah, trump on clinton?
8:06 pm
>> i don't see any difference on trump's strategy. there is real progress in the national security speech he gave this week. first, defensive priority, urgency, attached to fighting islamic radicalism, isis, al qaeda and the shiite resources. he stopped trash talking of our nato and arab allies and wants to work with, rather than against them and had a very important focus on the need to fight ideology of isis. we've got to crush that like we've crushed soviet communication. defeating them isn't going to be enough, or we're going to be back at this again and again. >> so you think trump has a stronger point of view. >> i agree. we have to look at reality of what will come out of this.
8:07 pm
look who is advising candidates. general flynn wrote a book about the basic way to defeat isis. and bill, here on the show, by the way, mike is one of our senior fellows. we put forth the idea of an arab nato. not that it's been what you and senator feinstein have said, you have the right concept but not right technique. we need to look for a long-term solution to resolve issues we've just talked about. combat forces, and have arabs iek president alsisi of egypt you have to eradicate violence from the religion. so not only the short term, kick their butts and win. >> i think it would take many, many years to organize that. nato is already in place.
8:08 pm
is there any reason on earth, mr. hannah that 20 nato countries are still sitting it out? obama can make them in one day say yes or no. if they say no, we can take them out of nato. why should we spend money in these countries if they're not going to sign on against isis? >> i agree, bill, the problem here, a lot of it is just u.s. will. i don't think the president wants -- >> he hasn't led -- he hasn't said anything or encouraged them. they can sit it out with no consequence. i mean, it's just ridiculous. it's ridiculous situation. and right now, in aleppo, people are starving to death. nato is providing safe zones inside syria and iraq. it's doable. it's not an offensive ground thing. >> right. right. >> it's just protecting innocent people. and president obama putting himself up as a great humanitarian has not lifted a

finger to make this happen. >> we proposed this to members of congress and both parties and to create a safe zone, you can invoke article 5 of the nato charter and do it immediately. >> exactly. >> and bring in resources to food, clothe, and shelter these people. if anyone comes close to them, then, you kill them. >> you have base of operations to attack them. >> turkey is a nato nation. you can do the math. but they don't have the will. now, hillary clinton has said that she will not put ground troops, either american or nato, at this point, i believe mrs. clinton is going to change her tune. i do. i could be wrong, but i think she's still within the far left, still kind of negotiating that. what do you say about that, mr. hannah? >> i think ground troops will absolutely be needed.
8:10 pm
both american as well as nato and arab partners. arabs have offered us ground forces to fight isis in eastern syria. but i don't think either one of the candidates are being honest enough with the american people about that. we're probably going to have to go in there to destroy these guys quickly as mr. trump says we need to. >> and you believe that, colonel? >> i believe we're going to have to reshape our offenses and i know we can do more with special operations forces. i spoke to senior members of the pentagon. they cannot get the authority to go after isis globally. senator feinstein said they're expanding and he have to get ahead of them. >> thank you, gentlemen. next, a brutally unfair attack on ellen degeneres.
