10:00 pm
it has been a busy week around here. a busy week for politics and our hearts to everyone in louisiana retiring. that's it for "the kelly file." good night. >> welcome to special addition of "hannity." major speeches on radical islam and restoring law and order. he travelled to louisiana to meet americans impacted by historic flooding. trump's campaign has also under gone changes. let's take a quick look back at a week that was donald trump.
10:01 pm
>> a message for our terrorists trying to kill our citizens, we'll find you, destroy you, and we will absolutely win and we will win soon. without this to lead our country. >> our border will be protected, and our children will be safe. very, very safe. >> we will make america strong again. we will make america safe again, and we will make america great again, greater than ever before. it is time for a change. what do you have to lose by
10:02 pm
trying something new? i will fix it. watch. >> reaction of former speaker of theous reason newt gingrich is with us, good to see you as always. >> good to see you. >> this was an amazing week from my perspective. the best week we had in the campaign. reason? i think he stood on message. he only talked about obama and hillary, and he offered solutions to very significant problems that we face in a country and a world. and his trip to louisiana earlier today. >> i think this is clearly the best week he has had, and i think ewe right, part of what made it so powerful is he showed leadership. he dealt with irreconcilable --
10:03 pm
and developing a very powerful speech and delivered it it very well. he showed leadership in north carolina, in going to louisiana at a ti when you have barack obama golfing and not able to get off of a vacation. hillary clinton tired and taking a day or two off to rest. so you saw real leadership. in his speech today, there is a clear statement that he wants to be a vehicle to change their lives. so offer them a chance to have safety in police stations like milwaukee, chicago, and baltimore. he wants to represent all americans. all americans in their appeal, that means i think that is the best week so far.
10:04 pm
. >> we have 81 days to go now. if we're looking for the secret sauce, i think it is about winning days. but objectively speaking, from my perspective, him staying focused on hillary and obama's failures, talking about real issues, and how bad things have gotten, and how bad things can be, there seems to be a special sauce there. that is maybe working versus getting distracted. >> i think it is tremendously important and he is wiping with it. he is very smart and he will do what works. and the fact that he is the one that insisted in milwaukee they use a teleprompt ter because what he was saying was so come belling and so potentially dangerous you had to say it with
10:05 pm
great clarity and discipline, and that is exactly what he pulled off. i think adding to the caliber of steve bannon and kelly conway, it will be remarkable in helping him to fashion -- he clearly wants to win. >> what about poll leading? >> i don't know how the details work. i thought paul did a great job of getting a national, professional campaign. i'm guessing that he was being generous in recognizing that the news media would not let up about what happened in ukraine. nobody is going to under estimate how much he did to help
10:06 pm
the campaign get to where it is right now. >> very interesting, he mentioned the speech in michigan earlier today pip think it was similar to his reach out just outside of milwaukee to the black community. we have a 58% increase. so obama has been president, 20% increase. black community, out of the labor force. and what was interesting is monday when he talked about isis, he talked about the persecution of women's, gays, christians, and jews that give hillary clinton money. then he talked about the black community, and then he said this in north carolina. i think we would be negligent if we dent play this. >> sometimes in the heat of
10:07 pm
competition, you say the wrong things. i have done that and believe it or not, i regret it. and do i regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain. too much to be at stake for us to be consumed with these occasions. one thing i can promise you this. i will always tell you the truth. >> i thought that was in a important moment. >> the number of people who told me they thought it was a huge moment, look, donald trump a
10:08 pm
remarkable person. he is extraordinarily smart. remarkably successful and a great competitor. it was a contest between his stubbornness and his iq. his iq knew he had to move to a new level and become a real presidential alternative. stubbornness said wait, i have else been this guy. why am i having to change. i think what you have seen this week, i don't know if he will like the term or not. more mature, and in a way more humble donald trump. they are seeking to lead the most complicated country in the world. it is a real burden. you have to think through in a special way how to lead the american people. this is how we saw over and over that we are bringing people
10:09 pm
together in a way that is very, very important. it hillary and trump had their conventions. do you see this -- let me ask you this straight up, do you think he wins this? >> yeah, for two reasons. first of all, i was privileged to sit through a briefing learning all of the things they know about hillary clinton and bill clinton. it is staggering. we only know 10% of what we know. he have drown under everything they have found. a former chairman saying they need to close the foundation. the boston globe, a liberal
10:10 pm
foundati source, saying close the foundation. >> they will not close it unless she wins. here is the real problem. whatever they say now about what they will say, they admitting there is at least an appearance of corruption. they are case after case. she is going to lose. now when she loses, donald trump will win, but my second point donald trump is on the verge of creating a generally historic movement that springs together people of all backgrounds. potentially a bigger coalition than reagan had, and this is where he appeals, and in this meeting tomorrow with latino leaders in new york, you will see more and more effort, i think, for them to bring all
10:11 pm
americas together to make america great again nap, to me, the combination of positive things, as she sinks, could lead to a historic election. >> thank you, we'll have more with newt gingrich after this break. don't go anywhere. coming up next, as well -- we will defeat radical islamic terrorism just as we have every threat we have ever faced before. but we will not, remember this, defeat it with closed eyes or silenced voices. >> donald trump laying out his plan to take out isis to beat radical islam. newt gingrich will react to the speech from earlier in the week, and trump making changes to his campaign staff. they weigh in, and much more, tonight on the special edition of hannity.
10:12 pm
10:15 pm
>> american swimmer james feigen is heading back here to the states. he was given his passport back after paying nearly $11,000 for falsely reporting a crime. meantime, teammate ryan lochte posting on instagram apologizing for his role in the incident. lochte and feigen were accused of vandalizing a gas station bathroom and lying about being robbed. now back to "hannity." prev. >> we will defeat radical islamic terrorism just as we have defeated every threat we faced at every age and before, but we will not, we will not, remember this, defeat it with closed eyes or silent voices. a new i'm graduation policy is needed immediately.
10:16 pm
we should only admit those to the country that shafr our shalls and respect our people. in the cold war, we had annize logical screening test. time is over due to develop a new screaming test for the threats we face today. i call it extreme vetting. i call it extreme, extreme vetting. one of my first acts will be to accomplish a commission on radical islam that will include reformist voices in the islam community that will hopefully work with us. we want to build bridges and erase divisions. the goal of the commission will be to identify and explain to the public the convictions and beliefs of radical islam.
10:17 pm
and to expose the networks in our study that support radicalization. >> trump laying out his plan to defeat isis. newt gingrich joining me. before we get to the extreme vetting, we now know john kerry lied, the president lied, and the iranians told the truth about the ran system paid for hostages. what should happen? >> we should defeat hillary clinton. i mean i think that would -- i think that congress ought to hold hearings, but the truth is if you have an administration
10:18 pm
dedicated to being dishonest, it is hard to control them. that is why it is so important. how could anyone who are angry, how could they possibly tolerate a hillary clinton presidency? she is, she lies more than they do. she is fastly more corrupt than they are. nobody every suggested that obama is corrupt, but she is corrupt. and she is, she is -- >> she clearly sold access and profited. >> here is why trump so central. he took on the entire establishment. you have the big banks that would have got all of their ceos. you have the lobbiest in washington, many of them who behaved in ways that were
10:19 pm
indefensible. you have the big unions, they don't care if the students fail to learn as long as the teacher's union gets what they want, which is money. going down the list, you have the big donors who want globalization at the expense of the american people. when you go through all of that, you realize you can't tell the truth about what they're doing. if obama told the truth about obama care, you're not keeping your doctor, your insurance, your premium and deductible are going up, they would have been slaughtered. so they continue to choose lying. >> and the american people have suffered. and i give out the numbers all of the time about the participation, the lowest home rate, one in five american families, nope in the family
10:20 pm
works. the worst recovery let go to trump's comments. if you have people coming from our constitution. our rule of law about the treatment of women, gays, lesbians. they discriminate. he talks about extreme vetting. if someone wants to come here don't they have to assimilate? >> the former deputy secretary, this is exactly what we did in the cold war. we were up against communism, not just the russians, and we
10:21 pm
vetted you to make sure you were not a communist. or we would not let you in. what trump has done is raised the core question about what is at it's heart and i am not for someone that wants to come and destroy the constitution. we have every right to defend ourselves and defend our institutions of freedom. >> what do you think of the idea for a commission. >> it depends on who you appoint. if you pick someone from the muslim brotherhood, it could be disruptive. i think they picked good people.
10:22 pm
i thought it was a brilliant idea. we have to fund a way to get in the heart of this conversation about what is acceptable, what isn't, and what should we be looking for. if you have a mosque that preaches jihad, and is recruiting people to join isis, i think there is a point where the national safety transcends the right of that mosque. new york did the best job than anyone in america. they stopped a lot of potential attacks because they were proactively looking for radicals before they killed someone. >> coming up next, on this special edition of "hannity." >> the only way to change results is to change leadership. >> donald trump on message this
10:23 pm
week while explaining his positive agenda. we are joined next with reaction. >> law and order. must be restored. >> trump promising to restore law and order as president. we'll have that and more on this special it's been a wild ride to jordan & chelsea's wedding. but thanks to booking.com everything turned out perfect. [crying] weird, but perfect. [flute]
10:25 pm
it's a hard thing to break. day in, day out. from point a to b, and back again. there's a difference between being alive and living. for those who can't imagine life without two wheels, allstate offers a genuine parts guarantee, that promises to fix your bike with original parts. talk to an allstate agent about all the things they do to keep riders riding. we must break free from the bitter failures of the past. and reject the same insiders telling us the same old lies over and over and over again. 33,000 e-mails, gone.
10:26 pm
the only way to change results is to change leadership. >> donald trump earlier tonight in michigan. all week the g.o.p. nominee has been on message hammering hillary clinton and barack obama while offering up his own solutions and of course adding more people to his campaign staff. joining us now is doug schloon. you didn't want trump on message, talking substantively, and showing leadership. and hillary has her feet up, phoning it in to the governor of louisiana, and talking about trump. this is what you said you didn't want to see happen. >> that's right, but we have a long way to go for this to be changed. the clear states remain strong.
10:27 pm
>> this is what you feared? >> yes, donald trump on a teleprompter. >> i have not seen the money yet. as i have said, so far they're just beginning four state advertising. you have to tell your candidate to step up and write a check if he will be serious. >> he can afford a mercedes, right? >> and his fund raising numbers have been impressive. and a majority of them come from small donors which has been fascinating to watch. to your point about the messagi messaging, i wish this would have been several months ago where they would have had kellyanne conway at the helm
10:28 pm
here. i think we have the reality of seeing a donald trump that is a businessman that wants to fik the problem, but also the compassionate side. something that ivanka trump has mentioned several times. the man with the big heart that wants to help people. i think that is incredibly effective, especially when you want to gain ground with women. sue -- suburban moms. >> i think it was pretty powerful when he said he regretted it. >> this is him in michigan talking about the president golfing. while hundreds of people are losing their homes in louisiana. >> the spirit of the people is incredible. and obama ought to get off of the golf course and get down
10:29 pm
there. >> not only obama, who is not running for office, but hillary, her feet up? literally phoning it in and calling the governor. if gives new meaning to the term phoning it in now. >> if i was running the campaign, which i'm not, i would have done it as soon as possible, and if i was donald trumpl, i would have gotten there too. >> i think this is going to be a big moment. >> i think so, shawn. i think for donald trump, this is about the personal touch. he didn't have to go out there and visit, but he is going to a swanky fundraiser, trump is down there, meeting with people, and that is part of being the
10:30 pm
sympathetic figure that people are looking for. especially the victims of natural disasters. this is hike their own version of hurricane katrina. it was disastrous and i think it was a mistake on the campaign. >> thank you both for being with us, coming up tonight on this special edition of hannity -- >> law and order must be restored. donald trump explaining how he would bring law and order back to the country. i'm asking for the vote of every african-american citizen, struggling today, that want a better and different future. >> also, donald trump this week

live from america's news headquarters, storm victims who lost their homes from the massive flooding in louisiana will soon have a place to stay. state governor says short-term housing and food is on the way. fema will be providing hotel rooms to those affected. nearly 4,000 people are still living in shelters, following the storm. republican presidential nominee donald trump toured the damage friday. president obama will visit next week. and another monster wild fire tearing through southern california at this hour. this one, 60 miles east of los angeles in san bernardino county. estimates suggest the flames have destroyed more than 100 homes along are some 200 other buildings. crews are making significant progress but the fire has
10:37 pm
charred 600 square miles, it's now 40% contained. back to "hannity." instagram. now back to "hannity." >> law and order must be restored. it must be restored for the sake of all but most especially for those living in the affected communities of which there are many. we will once again be a country of law and order. together, we will make america strong again. we will make america safe again. and we will make america great again. greater than ever before. >> welcome back to this special edition of "hannity." that was trump talking about his
10:38 pm
plan to restore law and order. hear now, with reaction from the trump organization, his state's attorney. >> how are you? >> this is something that very early in the campaign, i remember you and i discussed this. you and i had a meeting with mr. trump. he said he wants to raeach out o the black and hispanic communities, and you reached out to a lot of pastors, and that speech was a curesult of months- >> years. my relationship with darrell scott now goes on for over five years. we would speak on a regular basis? >> regularly? >> especially when the knicks were playing cleveland.
10:39 pm
>> i know he is a passionate trump supporter -- >> he is not the only one, though. through pastor scott, through pastor mark burns, we're well in excess of 100,000 people. and i was on a competing station on their show, and -- >> there is no competing station. >> there is no one that competes with you, but what she said is that mr. trump is polling between zero and 1% with the african-american vote -- >> the "l.a. times" poll has him higher than the last eight candidates, 14.6%. >> yeah, 14.6% and that is just the beginning. with his comprehensive message, when he was so on point for the problems that exist in the african-american community, if
10:40 pm
any, you speak to pastor scott and the hundred other preachers i am close with. they will tell you in unison that mr. trump understands what is necessary in which to fix the problems that exist in their community. >> since obama, and i will talk about this later in the show tonight, but if you look at the numbers since obama has been president in the black community, a 58% increase of black americans on food stamps. you also have 12 million more americans on food stamps. and a 20% increase since obama has been president that are out of the labor force. i don't see those policies helping black americans. i don't think the opportunity to say there is a better way exists and this relationship you're building with mr. trump, and the minority community, and these pastors, is working. >> i totally agree. it is working and the numbers will be reflected come november
10:41 pm
of 2016. the problem that the clinton camp has is they're taking for granted, as the democrats have, for many, many years prior, they're taking for granted the african-american vote. they make all of the right statements, they make all of the right promises, but they deliver on nothing. and it almost takes these communities not just for granted, but it doesn't take into consideration that they know what they need. they know what they want, and they're ready for it. >> let me ask you this. i think that donald trump has the best week since the convention. let's examine why. number one i feel he was on teleprompter. i think he is going to be more prone to, not even -- i won't say gaffes, but saying things that the media can bend, that totally distract and distort for four days.
10:42 pm
i like that he went to the teleprompt t teleprompter. i like that he outlined all of the problems created and the solutions. if he could do that for 81 days, i think he would be president of the united states. >> i agree with you. an amazing speech. they were comprehensive, direct, and they really hit home for a lot . >> donald trump doesn't need that. he's plenty rich. >> you got a promise yesterday that hillary clinton, if elected, won't accept any more
10:43 pm
foreign donations from saudi arabia, the uae, oman. >> what's the difference? how many billions of dollars in the clinton that's already there? she doesn't need more. it's more than any ten families could earn in a lifetime. >> of course she doesn't criticize their bigotry towards women and gays and lesbians and christians. >> why would she? it's not part of the narrative. >> she takes the money and they buy her silence. >> it's sad. >> good to see you, brother. and coming up. >> i'm asking for the vote of every african-american citizen struggling in our country today who wants a different and much better future. >> donald trump slamming democrats for failing african-american voters. we'll check in with ebony williams and james harris, they're here to weigh in on that and more on this special edition of "hannity" straight ahead. you both have a

10:48 pm
welcome back to this special edition of donald trump, he reached out a lot to african-american voters , to african-american voters. >> we do a direct disservice to poor african-american residents who were hurt by the high crime in their community. a big, big unfair problem. i'm asking for the vote of every
10:49 pm
african-american citizen, struggling in our country today, who wants a different and much better future. . it is time for our society to address some honest and very difficult truths. the democratic party has failed and betrayed the african-american community. >> wow. powerful words here with reaction, eboni williams. i will say this. i think that republicans, conservatives, if you look at the statistics in the last eight years, obama has not helped them. a 20% increase, black americans not participating in the labor force. he is not helping them, and i believe conservative policies would help every american. but you have to ask people for their vote and their port.
10:50 pm
>> i think there is a compelling case. some of the generations of dependency. the other half of the problem is not only hillary clinton and what she is talking about is bad, here is where i am good. he can talk about entrepreneurship opportunities. >> he talked about schools, drugs, polices, think about illegal immigration. one thing, immigration. disproportionately, black americans have been impacted, illegal immigrants are competing with americans in the labor force. >> my mother is a small business owner, absolutely -- >> by the way, i love your mother, as a side note. >> she loves you right back, sean hannity. no, you're making good points and i would love to see your candidate -- >> somewhat do you mean my candidate?
10:51 pm
>> i would love to see donald trump build on what he's started. >> james, what do you think? >> you know, obama said the right stuff. this is white america, black america, united states of america, and now we're more divided than ever along racial lines. that's sad to me. i do look at these numbers, the lowest home ownership rate in 51 years. one in five american families, not a single person working in that family, one in six in jail or living in mommy and daddy's basement. the worst recovery since the '40s. 14 million more americans on food stamps since obama became president. he's not helping anybody. >> if obama -- i'm sorry. if trump wants to win this thing, he needs to continue to talk the way he did in wisconsin. i disagree with you slightly. he doesn't need to talk about immigration. law and order, safe neighborhoods. if he wants to get and keep the black vote, he needs to talk about that and also offer a vision of economic prosperity.
10:52 pm
if he does that, i think it will resonate because who doesn't want to live in safe neighborhoods, sean, and who doesn't want to get paid? >> i agree. but don't you think he went a long way? monday he talked about gays and lesbians being killed by countries that are giving a m e fortune, millions and millions of dollars to hillary clinton, they bought her silence. tuesday he's talking about black americans and how they've suffered under the failed policies of democrats, the failed management of big cities in america, and now he's going to get more jobs and more opportunity. a powerful message. >> it was a very powerful message. what i'm saying is, if he sticks to that message, if he's disciplined and continues to hammer that message home, he will find success. all he needs to do is look in obama's backyard of chicago. since he's been president, actually over the last 20 years, you've seen the murder rate
10:53 pm
explode. 71% of those murders were complicated committed by blacks. 61% of the kids born in that community are to single parent families. when you talk about whether there's been success in these democrat-owned cities, and these democrat-run communities, the answer is a resounding no. they keep doing the same thing over and over and over again and expect a different result. that is the definition of insanity. so you would think that at this point in time, americans of african-american descent would be willing to ditch democrat policies. >> willing to ditch, absolutely. but they've got to do it in favor of something that makes sense to them. this is donald trump's opportunity to talk about rahm emanuel, public schools were not open, they were shot and killed. these are glaring examples that
10:54 pm
trump has at his disposal. >> both of you have a great weekend. routine. it's a hard thing to break. day in, day out. from point a to b, and back again. there's a difference between being alive and living. for those who can't imagine life without two wheels, allstate offers a genuine parts guarantee, that promises to fix your bike with original parts. talk to an allstate agent about all the things they do to keep riders riding. what's up guys? we're dude perfect. make sure you don't miss out on the bass pro shops fall hunting classic. we'll see you there. now at the classic get huge savings. extra trade-in savings of up to $40 on hunting boots.
