>> first of all you have to say one thing that is important. secretary clinton is talking about taking out iowa sis. we'll take out isis. well, president obama and secretary clinton createded a vacum the way they got out of iraq. they shouldn't have been in, but the way they got out was a disaster and isis was formed she's been trying to take them out for a long time. but they wouldn't have been formed if they left some troops behind like 10000 or something more than that. and then you wouldn't have had that. or as i said a long time and i think you will agree. we taken the oil, isis wouldn't have been able to form and that was their source of income. and they have the oil all over the place including libya which
10:03 am
was a disaster. >> i hope the fact checkers are turning up the volume and working hard. donald supported the invasion of iraq. >> wrong, wrong, wrong. >> that was proved. >> wrong. >> and genener griffin is covering the clinton campaign. >> reporter: jon, we are on board with the bus with the rest of the press traveling with hillary clinton. we are going to a speech or prom. i want to show you what it looks like on a bus. it is more of a luxury vehicle. and there was an extra kick in the step of her campaign aides as the candidate herself made the way up the steps. came back to talk to us in the back of the plane, something she is reluctant to do. here's what she said last night. >> anyone complained about the
10:04 am
microphone is not having a good night. >> in fact, that is a line we heard over and over from the campaign aides. they certainly felt that when donald trump called in to it fox and friends and complained his mike was lower than hers and he was struggling in the wake of the aftermath of the debate. it is clear they feel they had a winning moment when she talked about he has said about woman in the past. and today, the campaign is having a conference call with the former miss universe who will be out on the stump for hillary clinton. and she's going to talk about p how she is treated by donald trump in the past. on fox and friends, donald trump said they had trouble with her and referred to her weight. and we heard from the candidate
10:05 am
herself. this is perhaps the moment that the campaign is looking at where she delivered the biggest zinger when he tried to address her stamina. here's what she said. >> i have been all over the place. you decided to stay home. >> i think donald just critized me for preparing for this debate. and yes, i did. and you know what else i prepareed for? i prepare ped to be president and i think that is a good thing. >> that was a line that sounded as if she prepared. she had prepared with mock debate prep. and again, right now, we are on the way to a speech she will be giving in the all important state of north carolina. she and her surigates will barnstorm the crucial states.
10:06 am
>> it is making me nervous watching you stand there and hold on to the rail. sit down and get your seat belt on. >> good balance in multiple way. donald trump and hillary clinton were face-to-face on the debate and the mood got contentious at times as they spared over everything from national security and tax plans. one hot topic is whether or not mr. trump missed opportunities to score points against hillary clinton. >> she lied five times under oath. and that is things that americans died because she failed to retain. he didn't go anywhere p. he didn't mention any of that. and i thought she clobbered him and it was not close. these debates are not won on debating points, but the impression. the impression was she
10:07 am
controlled the ball and he was on the defensive and he utterly failed to address her weakness which is the perception she is unworthy of trust. >> we have national correspondent of the post daily 202 news letter. what do you think of the criticism a libertarian levelled, judge napolitano, on donald trump. >> a lot of conservatives are frustrated and feel like so missed opportunity and soft ball and trump was asked about the e-mails he didn't hit it out of the park. and that's what happens if you don't prepare. donald trump came in like the slacker and watching the football gooem game. and hillary clinton was the teacher's pet. and the thing is, you get a lot of practice and you get your lines down and you respond to
10:08 am
the different issues. trump didn't do that. and he didn't have mock debate and want a stand in for clinton. and people are frustrated with him, because they feel like if he hunkered down, he could have landed more purchases on secretary clinton. >> and the loudest criticism of trump are supporters that are not voting for hillary clinton. and your analogy about the cool kid and the teacher's pet was written in the usa today in the column. debates are personality tests and here's a portion of that column today. clinton will get a modest bump for the solid performance. but the personality test more than a sat. and she needed to defend from the loftiestness with the honor society. and she missed an opportunity to do that. what about that criticism,
10:09 am
james? >> 90 percent of the people watching the debate, maybe hundred million people have made up their minds and they know who they will support. when you assess the debates is, who did the candidates win over. ten percent of the people who can go either way and it is hard to imagine donald trump winning over fresh converts and it is hard to imagine too many people changinging their votes and they are supporting trump because of a performance. and that is one of the reasons we enjoy the debates, but it is a question of how much we change the underlying dynamic of the race. i am sure he will over the next few days, there was a moment in the debate and there was a moment that i want to play for the viewers. donald trump seemed to sum up the entire platform for

president. >> i don't think top down works in america. i think building the middle class and college debt free to get young people's education. that will really boost the economy. >> typical politician. all talk and no action. sounds good, doesn't it work, never going to happen had. our count rope is suffering because of people like secretary clinton have made such bad decisions in terms of our job and what is going on. >> he speaks in short sentences and he's different. is that enough to win the election. >> that's the argument that would win. >> it is because he prosecute cans that over and over again. if it ended after 20 minutes, we would call it a draw and it went on 95 minute and trump in a lot of ways, seemed like he had
10:11 am
prepared and a crisp message and that resonates with a lot of people. 75 percent of the people in the country is on the right track. and instead he got on defense and respond to a lot of attacks that clinton levelled. and no question, even democrats agree that trump did well in the first 20 minutes of the debate. >> interesting. we enjoy the news letter and look forward to having you back. thank you. >> a california man sentenceed to 30 years in prison for trying to join isis. he was convicted in june for conspiring to aid a foreign terrorist organization. his repeated mentions of martyrdom make him dangerous. he was convicted p with mohammed bedewi who is to be sentenced

here's the plan. you grow up wanting to be a lawyer, because your dad's a lawyer. and eventually you land a grown-up job with a 401k and you meet your wife. and you both work constantly... so you're surprised how much you both want kids, and equally surprised you can't have them. sometimes you fight about stupid things. then you move on. but you feel like something is still missing. so together, you adopt a little boy... and then his two brothers...

and you up your life insurance because four people depend on you now. then, one weekend, when everyone has a cold and you've spent the whole day lying around watching monster movies on tv, you realize that you didn't plan for any of this, but you wouldn't have done it any other way. no matter who you are or where you end up in life, with the right financial partner, progress is possible. >> breaking news out of north carolina, a key battleground state for hillary clinton. mit that and there is a question of whether or not he can do it again.

this is her first rally post debate. and we'll take a moment and listen to hillary clinton. >> did anybody see that debate last night. oh. yeah. yes. and one down two to go. i am so excited to be back here at a was here eight years ago and i was impressed then with the kinds of program and opportunities that are offered here to people like christine that i wanted to come back torahly but i wanted to come back to wake tech. when christine was talking and i was back stage watching her on the screen and saying about how
10:34 am
she was about to cry. i was about to cry. her story, says so much. not just about her, but about p our country. we are a country of second chances and third and fourth. for people willing to work for them and get up every day and do their best. that's the basic bargain ape of america. i was really proud of christine. >> we are proud of you. >> thank you, thank you. [cheering]. >> and i think her patience -- patients at duke regional are a treat. not only the skills and personality, get up and go personality will mean a lot to people she is taking care of.

and god speed. and i have to thank dr. stephen scott, president of wake tech community college. [applause] all of the administrators and the faculty and the students of wake tech. and dr. scott told me the enrollment is about p 73000 and what a tribute to what this institution represents. and i am a huge, huge supporter. you know, i see america differently. i think there's nothing we can't do if we make our minds up and roll up our sleeve and get working together and support
10:36 am
institutions like wake tech and support people like christine. i want to thank your mayor, mayor macfar land. thank you so much for being here. state senator dan blue junior. and i want to recognize linda coleman, candidate for lieutenant governor of north carolina. linda came so close last time. and this time are you going to bring her over the finish line? [applause] and i will tell you somebody else i am really excited about, the democrat candidate for the senate, former state representative deborah ross. [applause] i have watched the come pain and
10:37 am
the intensity and the incredible passion she brings to it. we sure could use her in washington, representing north carolina. i want to thank all. elected officials that are here and i want to do a special, special shout out to a long- time friend of my husband and mine, somebody who we admire so much, who did really transform the state during his governorship, that is former governor jim hunt. [applause] >> there is a lot that i want to talk about today, but let me start with this, you may or may not know, today is national voter registration day.
10:38 am
[applause] and you see some signs people are holding. i will vote. now, that's not only a great sign, that shows you're committed to vote. but it is a website and you can go to it iwillvote.com, to make sure you are register ared. and i hope you all will. and i hope you will tell everybody that you know to do the same, because we want to make sure that people are registered and there is still time to get registered here in north carolina and i hope that you will, because think about everything that is at stake here in the election. right here in the north carolina, the mean and wrong decision by your governor to sign and pass house bill two has
10:39 am
hurt this state, more than that, it's hurt people. it has sent a message to so many people. that well, you know, you're not really wanted. you are not really part of us. and i think the american dream is big enough for everybody. and the other thing your governor and legislature did was everything they could to make voting harder for people. they were pretty blatant about it. make it harder for people of color. make it harder for the elderly and make it harder for the young. now some of that has been rolled back thankfully because it was so young and i would argue
10:40 am
unconstitutional. [cheering] [applause] but the best way to show, hey, you know, in a democracy like ours, we can have the most vigorous vibrant debates, that's what it is p. but we want everybody to exercise his or her right to vote. that's the way we're supposed to be making decisions and it distorts our democracy if some groups of people try to prevent other people from being able to do that. i have won elections and i have lost elections and so i know what the difference is. but i tell you this, i believe in what our founders established for us. to govern ourselves and widen the circle of opportunity and that includes the opportunity to
10:41 am
be heard and to dress yourself and your voice and your boatvote and the best way to it reaffirm that commitment to the fundmental bed rock american value is to show up and vote and demonstrate the importance of your vote. [applause] i believe that we may have a record- setting turn out in this election. some folks who follow this are saying we could have the biggest turn out we've ever had. that kind of makes sense, because you could not have two more different visions of where we upon want our country to go in the future and who we are fighting for. but early information is actually quite encouraging. we are seeing spikes in early
10:42 am
voting and we are seeing rates among african-american and latino and young people going up. [applause] and for the first time, the estimate is, that young people can represent 25 percent of the vote. now, i would love to see that obviously, i hope people vote for me. but i would love to see that, because every election is about p the future and honestly, it is more about the future of young people and children than it's ever been because of the difference in the approaches and experiences of me and my opponent. now last night, i got a chance,
10:43 am
i got a chance to say a few things about what i want to do if i am fortunate to be elected as your president and i do have an old- fashioned idea if i am asking for your vote i should tell you what i want to do. and i also got to convey my excitement about what we can do together and i really think the central issue in the country and what kind of future we want to build for our children and grandchildren. i think about that a lot. in part, i started working for the children's defense fund. that is always my passion about
10:44 am
p what we can do. to help more kids live up to at this time god given potential and during the campaign people will ask me how did you get interested in that? the simple answer is. my mother had had such a neglected childhood. abandoned by p her parent and sent to live with grand parents who didn't want her and age of 14, she was out on her own, working in a home, baby sitting and keeping house. she was basically a maid. and when i think of my mother's own life, and how she told me when i was old enough to understand how different her life was than the one that she created for me and my brothers, she would say she was so often saved by the kindness of other
10:45 am
people. you know, we overlook the importance of just how we treat each other. the respect we show. the kindness. and the love that we show is. and i am well aware that is not something that you necessarily put on a campaign website, but i have been talking about it, because i think we've got to reassert our fundmental connection to each other. you know, when my mother was in first grade, she never had any food. and her first grade teacher noticeded in those days they brought a little bag of food and sit in the classroom and eat it and my mother never had any food. that first grade teacher noticed
10:46 am
that and brought extra food and without embarrassing her. doranothery, i brought too much food. would you like this sandwich or milk. and it was not until she herself was much older that my mother realized that that teacher fed her that school year. something she didn't have to do, but her love for the students and recognitions of a child who was not well taken care of meant that she stepped in and then when my mother worked as a maid, she really wanted to go to high school. she started to work right before she was in high school and she had to get out of her grand parent's home. and the woman she worked for realized how much my mother wanted to go to high school. and so she said to her. if you get up early, it sounds like christine, getting up so
10:47 am
early. if you get up early and get your chores done, you you can go to high school. that's what my mother did four years. she got up early and literally had to run, run to get to high school. it sounds harsh, but not for my mom. she thought it was a great gift of kindness that this woman gave her a place to live. >> hillary clinton speaking in her first event. one down and two to go when talking to a supportive crowd in the key battle ground of north carolina. she pointed out herself the millennial vote that is for either candidate. and one reason we watched this event. you can watch it streaming on fox news.com. we'll monitor it. in the meantime hillary clinton and donald trump battled it out over the debate stage on
