home. let's get to it. good afternoon from the fox news desk. i'm shepard smith. donald trump and hillary clinton are back on the campaign trail after last night's big debate, reaching out to key voters. trump told a roundtable with cuban americans in little havana neighborhood in miami, florida one of the most critical of all the swing states. the republican nominee has called it his second home. the real clear politics poll showing candidates are virtually tied with secretary clinton beating trump 45% to 44%. hillary clinton is in the battleground state of north carolina. she wrapped up an event a short time ago in raleigh. polls showing them again tied. this was before last night's big debate. the "wall street journal" saying trump's performance probably energized his supporters, but as
12:02 pm
"the journal" puts it, it may have turned off undecided voters. some analysts say he may need to win over white educated voters in the suburbs of philadelphia across the swing state. the real clear politics average in pennsylvania shows clinton with a slight edge, beating donald trump 45% to 43%. again, that's a statistical tie. vice president joe biden campaigning in philly today for hillary clinton. coverage begins, jennifer griffin following the clinton campaign in north carolina. first, carl cameron in melbourne, florida, southeast of orlando along that critical i-4 corridor. donald trump set to hold a rally there today. what is trump saying about his debate performance, carl? >> reporter: he's claiming victory. he talks about the snap polls overnight and he's gotten good reviews. he went to meet with some

hispanic cuban american leaders there a little while ago and was going to a bakery to get a little cuban coffee and he's riding very high. the i-4 corridor tremendously important, particularly for republicans. if he doesn't win florida or if he were to lose ohio, it would be very, very, very hard to find a path to the 270 electoral college votes for trump. last night's debate, if it was anything, might have been a speed dump. he feels he won in these snap polls. we'll know in the next few weeks whether or not he was persuasive with moderate, independent, swing voters, et cetera, that decide the election. it's clear republican loyalists love the way he went after hillary clinton. there was one moment towards the end of the debate where trump actually pulled a punch. he was offend bid some of the things clinton was saying, and he started to say he was going to say something that would be very 'embarrassing for the

latina. trump stood his ground. >> she was the winner. she gained a massive amount of weight and it was a real problem. we had a real problem. not only that, her attitude. >> when it comes to the actual debate, trump did definitely land his blows as did hillary on a number of occasions. the question going down the road is what will happen with the independents and moderates. >> i'm curious if any analysts were talking about high points for donald trump? >> absolutely. he did land some punches. when it came to politics and policy, he was very strong on taxes, said he would cut taxes, boost the economy, create more economic growth, therefore jobs and the national government and therefore dealing with the debt. he also went very, very hard on trade. on that he accused hillary
12:06 pm
clinton of being secretly for the transpacific trade partnership which she once called the gold standard and denied having said that last night in the debate. he cornered her on that falsehood. it keeps the republican base fired up. it shows he's going to be strong, that he's got an economic plan. on that one most of the analysts are saying that trump finally came out on top. >> carl cameron, thank you. hillary clinton holding her first post debate rally in north carolina. she spoke at a community college in raleigh earlier this afternoon. she slammed trump for not releasing his tax returns again and said the republican nominee bragged on the debate stage about not paying its fair share of taxes or at all depending on how you look at it. jennifer griffin live in callie. clinton really went after trump during her rally today? >> she did. it was the continuation of the

needling and teasing and trying to goad him last night on the debate stage. a very different perspective than the clinton campaign and her aides about how last night went from what carl is describing from the trump side of things. they feel she did very well. and this was the shot of adrenaline that the campaign needed in the wake of sagging polls, especially in the battleground states. this is the beginning of a four-day barnstorming effort by hillary clinton and her surrogates across the battleground states. making a real push here in north carolina. campaigning with bernie sanders. she could not help but tease donald trump again mentioning her guest, dallas mavericks owner and reality tv show mark cuban who she called a real billionaire. a reference to the fact that no one really knows donald trump's bottom line since he won't

both trump and clinton need to rally support among undecided voters during last night's debate with the race for the white house essentially dead locked in crucial swing states. specifically talking about white educated suburban men, but both, really, white educated sub busu /* suburbanites. what does it show. >> no change. they both scored well with their base, maybe made early inroads, but no defensive momentous movement. we talked to everybody on both sides of the aisle and they agreed it wasn't the turning point for undecided voters. >> it's not as if the people who haven't been surveyed didn't
