for why she did not have a government account. his quote states the reason. >> what's going on there, it's early on in the discovery by "the new york times," which broke the story. we were very close. >> about the illegal e-mail server. >> correct. not account. server. people are confusing, hillary herself did during the debate. she mentioned server >> a lot of us have private accounts. i don't know anyone with a private server. this is early on in the revelation. this is a legitimate inquiry. didn't condoleezza rice have a private account, which she did. of course, she didn't have top secret information on it, she didn't have her own server. they were beginning to formulate a strategy to push back against "the new york times." this is one of those early ones. effectively, normal and you'd expect it. how wikileaks got it is another story. who knows? >> there are a bunch of e-mail things that talk about how chelsea is a brat regarding the clinton foundation. bill's philandering is a

the candidates clashing it the second presidential debate. will the post debate polls give donald trump a boost where it counts? here to break it all down, mr. scott rasmussen. thank you for being with us. >> great to be here.

>> this is a map from 2012. what can we learn from this after the debate? >> this is the electoral college. when a democrat won by 4 percentage points in the popular vote nationally. right now, donald trump is trailing by six points in the real clear politics average. he may have gotten a point or two back from the debate. maybe not. we'll learn when the polls come out s but this is the starting point. if donald trump loses by more than 4 points some of these red states will turn blue. what we have is a situation where there's only 13 states really in play. to win the white house, donald trump will win every red state and pick up some other electoral college votes. florida where hillary clinton is campaigning today and they are saying let's not have another 2000. he will have to win ohio. donald trump gets close to being enough. for this to happen, he has to improve his standing in the national polls. one fun possibility, where he goes from here? florida and ohio are must-wins.

if we were to win, we have this fantasy of the house picking the president and the senate picks the vice president. >> if the house pikeds the -- picks the president, they would clearly pick donald trump. >> we haven't had something decided by the house of representatives since 1824. it's been a while. it's not the way the system is supposed to work. if that should happen, you can end up with president trump and vice president tim kaine. it's not likely, michigan would give us a tie has been democratic for a generation. it's an upper midwest state. these are states that not only

go democratic consistently, they are more democratic than the nation at large. >> and according to the polls, she's up 46-40. >> she's up in both these states. so these are really likely to fall into hillary clinton's camp. donald trump needs to close the gap nationally to make all of this work. so again we get back to this map. donald trump needs to win all of the romney states. that would give him 206 electoral college votes. >> isn't it fun in, when you look at that, it looks like romney would have won, because there's more run but these two states don't equal california. >> he needs to win florida, ohio, and i still needs to find 17 more electoral college votes. it's an uphill climb. still ahead. call him tiny trump. >> you want to go back to them or do you want to stay with donald trump? >> trump. >> the pint-sized politician

street journal poll shows hillary clinton with a lead now, that was the first poll taken after the scandal from 2005 broke. that has house republicans in a dither about what to do going forward. paul ryan says he's going to focus on maintaining the majority in the house. he's done with him. he tells house members you need to do what's best for you in your district. that prompted a sharp response from donald trump who tweeted out yesterday, paul ryan should spend more time balancing the budget, jobs, and illegal immigration and not waste his time on fighting the republican nominee. as he engages in a fight with the republican leadership, he's also taking on his opponent hillary clinton. a couple of big rallies yesterday in pennsylvania, including a huge one in wilk wilkes-bar wilkes-barre.

these syrian refugees leaving syria, going to jordan, how will the jordanians know if they are terrorists or not. >> we don't know. donald trump is the only person in the republican party was making this an issue other than maybe jeff sessions. if you want to have hundreds of thousands of islamic refugees in the united states, if you want to do that, ones that we can't vet, not proper immigration, then definitely vote for hillary clinton. but i think europe is dealing with the situation now and they realize they made a massive mistake in what they have done but there's no turning back. there's no turning back. >> they just arrested a syrian who was on a massive stabbing spree in germany. nice. they opened up their hearts and get stabbed in the back. let me ask you, the tape comes out friday. i know you've been -- you've been very stall -- stall wart in your support. what are your thoughts? what if another tape comes out? what do you think, what does
