a new document out by wikileaks, include many of hillary clinton's paid speeches to wall street. with the latest leak revealing that she may have disclosed classified information regarding the raid on osama bin laden's compound in those paid speeches. here to react, the man who killed osama bin laden, former navy s.e.a.l., rob o'neill.

elected based on her national security because of the bin laden raid, i would much rather see her mention why we did it or the pilots that brought us there or the analysts that found him. we didn't go in for someone to win an office. we went for a secretary that jumped out of the 90th floor of the trade towers, the first responders that went to the pentagon, people like todd beamer that took down the plane in pennsylvania, where that could have hit the capitol and made a horrible day even more catastrophic. the reason i did the special on fox news was because of the 9/11 families. i've had them tell me pretty much every single day it helps with the healing process, even though there's never closure. there is a healing process, knowing that was a means to an end. i wouldn't have done it for a political gain. >> well, and hillary clinton isn't the first one to mention the s.e.a.l.s. although, she's revealing the secret method, talking about cell phones. but it was joe biden who outed you guys as the ones who pulled it off. >> it was surprising.

failures of the ruling establishment. she is part of that. i'm outside of that. that's why i'm the only one that can change your life for the better. that's a winning message. >> can you compare that to the brexit movement over in the uk? >> it's exactly the same underlying argument, which is you've got a huge group of people who have just been left behind by these big changes in our economy and in our society. globalization and technology. it feels like the people in charge are just serving the winners, the people who are gaining from that. those who are losing out from that are just ignored. and that's what led to brexit. i think if trump focuses on that argument, then he's got a really good chance of turning it around. >> so who has control of the republican party when this is all over? >> well, i think that the central point for the republican party is that they've got to learn whether he wins or loses, it should be there to represent opportunity for those people. not for the insiders, not for the winners. the republican party should be there for opportunity for all. you got to start by developing

new ideas that really work for those people. that's true whether he wins or loses. >> we're exactly one month away from the day after the election. so the election really is still a month away. that's enough time, isn't it, for trump to turn it around? >> i think yes. what we've seen in this election is how quickly things move. look how quickly he really caught up with hillary clinton after a pretty disastrous period after the conventions. caught up with her, overtook her. looked like in many of the swing states he was really pulling ahead in ways you haven't seen a republican nominee do for ages. so i think there's still time. but he's got to focus on how he's going to make a difference to real people's lives by getting rid of these policies that people have experienced from both parties for many years. >> newt gingrich was sitting where you were yesterday morning, former speaker of the house. he said that -- he said donald trump's campaign really needs to focus on wikileaks and the e-mail scandal involving hillary clinton. we just got more information

this morning. every day we walk into the news room, there's more information, more wikileaks stuff. this morning, i was reading about the mocking -- her campaign mocking christianity, mocking catholics, talking about rupert murdoch, who's head of news corp., sending his kids to catholic school. here's one of the e-mails, steve. >> that's right. this is between hillary's communications director and a fellow by the name of john halperin. they're talking about catholicism here. it says, it's an amazing bastardization of the faith. they must be attracted to the systemic thought and severely backwards gender relations. palmieri, hillary's communications director, says, i imagine they think it is the most socially acceptable political conservative religion. their rich friends wouldn't understand if they became evangelicals. that sounds like a problem because it sounds like her communications director is anti-catholic. >> that is just so insulting and

disrespectful. >> are you catholic? >> yeah, i was raised a catholic. i just think that the attitude revealed in that is so disgraceful. now, look at the outrage, the correct outrage about donald trump's remarks the other day, with respect to women. the remarks there about people with faith are just as bad in a different way. now, imagine further if those remarks were from republicans about people who are muslims. just imagine. >> it would be on the front of "the new york times" every day. >> exactly. we really need to see some contrition from them over this. they should be pressed to explain those remarks and to say that that is not the attitude of hillary clinton, and if they don't do that, then people will just see them for the hypocrites they really are. >> we sort of know where this attitude comes from. they see sincere religious faith as an impediment to imposing the brave new world they imagine we all need. isn't that the core problem?

but if you understand -- you know, don't judge the alcoholic in the street until you walk a mile in his shoes. folks that have this illness are not doing it because they're having a good time. they're doing it because they're sick and they're medicating the intolerableness of their lives. this book gives you ways that you can help that person and still stay. >> okay. a lot of books have been written for the addict. okay, this is going to be your guidebook to get out of this personal hell. so is this book written for the partner or the spouse on how to guide that person who is addicted? >> basically how to guide the process. this is called compassionate partnering. we're not saying people should stay if there's an abusive relationship or if they're in danger. they should leave. but if the partner, the addicted partner is willing to get better, they can do this together. and this book shows you how. >> what do you wish your partner had done differently, or what

did she do that helped you recover? >> well, my first wife actually did this with me. she was -- she learned about the issue. there was no shame in our house for having this. there was compassion. there was cooperation instead of judgment and condemnation. so we used a lot of these tools. i'm 30 years in recovery. >> for the folks watching right now who might have somebody in their household who has an addiction problem, give them one thing they can do today. >> see your partner clearly. understand what the aspects of this illness are. stop shaming that person. and don't take what they do personally. that's one of the hardest things people have to do. as you say, folks that have this illness behave badly.

we need to get beyond that. it's possible to get beyond that. >> hard to do, but it's so sweet to love them through their illnesses. >> and it's possible. the science says that the outcomes are better if you do this instead of leaving them. >> interesting stuff. several times a day. he's up here often to help. as are his top lieutenants. and that's been great because what we need as a presidential nominee is the field operation, the data, certainly the ground game. the rnc came bearing gifts this year. they've been working at this for many, many years. so when donald trump goes and raises money, like he did 5 million or so strong yesterday in texas, that money goes -- a lot of that money goes back to the party, and it helps these down ballot candidates, some of whom aren't supporting him. >> i'm misifystified by what's g on. every member in the house is running for re-election. some of them see him as not helpful to their causes. nonetheless, the argument has been, okay, he's better than her because she will pick all these new people for the supreme court, and we don't want that to happen. that's been a pretty clear message. it's been a clear choice from the get go. that hasn't changed, but this has. >> that hasn't changed at all.

in fact, the supreme court -- also, if you want somebody who's strong and serious about the feeding of islamic radical terrorism, if you want someone who knows how to create jobs, there's so many different issues that face this country. and the stark choice could not be more clear between clinton and trump. and yet, you do have a number of republicans who otherwise agree with the policies of donald trump in the republican party now i think making it easier for hillary clinton in some ways to win -- to compete in some of their states. it's unfortunate, but donald trump will do what he's done all along, which is take her message directly to the people, through the noise or through the silence, whichever can may be. >> what's going to happen in the future? will a totally different party emerge from all of this? because you've got a republican party that's split. even donald trump is admitting that and writing in his tweets how the democrats, at least they're being loyal. no matter what happens, no matter what these wikileaks things say, they're loyal. meanwhi meanwhile, his party is split.

will we see a new party emerge? >> i doubt that. what i think you'll see is -- what i think you do see is a party that has growing pains because it is an expansive party that represents different view points. and ainsley, you need to look no further than our last couple presidential nominees. i think this party was very dangerously close to being the party of the eelites, yet, donad trump is giving voice to the workers. when i go to his rallies, i see folks there from all stages of life and frankly folks who have spent their days very differently. stay at home moms, business owning women, carpenters and welders, then executives. in other words, this is the way the party should be. i think because he's given voice to, as he says, the forgotten man, forgotten woman, he's been able to expand the party in many ways. and look, i'd rather be the republican party than the democratic party. you talk loyalty, but loyalty can be blind. the idea you're going to have democrats staying with hillary clinton after what's been revealed in e-mails, the way

they really truly feel about people, referring to catholics, denigrating news corp.'s rupert murdoch because of his catholic religion. what do all the catholics out there feel about it? if i'm donald trump, i'm going to stand at the podium and read from these e-mails to see how these democrats and hillary clinton truly feel. >> so in the debate the other night, he said i feel like i'm debating not just hillary clinton but the entire press corps. this wikileaks dump validates that. >> a lot of collusion. >> john harwood really went after trump in one of the primary debates. i remember trump complaining about it. talking to the chairman of the hillary campaign and saying, you know, trump's awful and i'm glad the way i treated him. basically, this shows the press is colluding with the hillary campaign. do you feel vindicated? >> well, we feel disappointed. if we had more complete coverage and less biased coverage, i feel mr. trump would be able to get his message out in a way that would benefit the voters. it is disappointing to read those e-mails and see that folks who you think aren't giving us a fair shake truly aren't giving

us a fair shake, but there's a reason that they're cozying up to the clinton folks. listen, this cannot be -- you can't have a true, free democracy and a free and fair election if they're in the bag for the other team. >> you have hillary clinton calling half of his supporters deplorable. >> and irredeemable. >> then you have bill clinton just down in florida in the last day or so saying this about trump supporters. >> you know, look, the other guy's face is what i grew up in. i'm basically your standard red neck. >> then he said trump was confuse by the coal people in west virginia and kentucky. that's offensive to people down south. >> it should be offensive to

everyone, but certainly offensive to the people he was targeting specifically. i don't know that bill clinton is helping his wife much on campaign trail these days. i'm glad he's out there. she's the second most popular person in a two-person household. you can see why he's out there. last week it was obamacare is the craziest thing he's ever seen, we agree. the comment yesterday. i feel it's only an unguarded moment that we learn how the clintons really feel about americans, particularly hillary clinton. you saw after the irredeemable and deplorables comment, we heard her in the comfort of the donor class on tape, denouncing the bernie sanders voters. even earlier this week in the debate, one of the lowest moments for hillary clinton in that debate was when she was asked to explain why she would call millions of people irredeemable and deplorable. she said, well, i apologize for that. he said, no, you only apologized for the number. you are off by a margin of about

tens of millions of people. it's only in those unguarded moments. i want people to pay attention to that. what donald trump has said is when he win, he will be the president of all americans, even those who vociferously opposed his candidacy. >> there you go. nbc on friday put out the billy bush bust tape. apparently they'd been sitting on it for months. it happened years ago. now you see in the left wing media there are a lot of organizations who are saying, somebody else must have some tapes on donald trump. in fact, donald trump said, you know, if there are more tapes, have them come on out. what happens if more tapes do come out? what's the official campaign strategy to react to any more tape? >> well, i don't know what's out there. there's no way for me to know what is and isn't out there. i only know what i read. we'll deal with them as they come. we'll have to find out what is on there, what the context was, and you know, in the case of last week, i was there when mr. trump learned this. exactly the contrition and the

humility and the apology he expressed is what i saw privately as well. i'm glad he did that. i think when people seek mercy and forgiveness, we ought to be given -- all these people, the high horse sanctimony from some. you see hillary clinton's top people attacking catholics. yet, when somebody asks for forgiveness and mercy, we're going to look the other way. i'm glad he's contrite, and i'm glad he denounced his comments the way people like me and his wife have. nobody is out there defending those comments. >> i was in a frank luntz focus group in st. louis that night watching the debate. they were fine with his apology. they said, okay, he's apologized, time to move on. >> but the obsessiveness with some over this particular incident and these tapes is really, to tucker's earlier point, that's a different kind of media bias. i don't know what the 16 million plus women who are in poverty and the 12 million plus women who don't have health insurance as i sit here are thinking of

good morning and welcome back to "fox & friends." we start with a fox news alert. the fbi is now investigating a fiery plane crash on a busy street in connecticut. word this morning that the crash may have been intentional, and the student pilot killed in that crash reportedly a jordanian national. >> all i saw was a crash and then like an atom bomb went off. then it just kept blowing up. then i heard people screaming. >> we understand now the fbi is looking into that student who first came to the united states in 2012 on a temporary visa to fulfill a course for flight school. at some point, his status changed and he went to a language school in toledo, ohio.

then there's this. police takedown in the middle of a freeway. a suspect tased as he runs from police across several lanes of traffic in texas. a car comes within inches of this guy. police say the chase started as a shoplifting call when two men tried stealing $2,000 worth of clothes from a kohl's department store. then, a 93-year-old bridge deemed weak turns out to be anything but that. watch. [ explosion ] yeah, supposed to go down, but it did not. that's in little rock, arkansas. the structure refusing to fall despite several explosions. it took crews five hours to finally bring down that bridge. those are your headlines. see you back here in a little bit. >> all right. thank you. millions of taxpayer dollars handed out to dead people. >> this according to a remarkable and pretty disturbing new medicare audit.

>> sheryl is here to break it all down. what's going on? >> good morning, guys. a recent audit by the inspector general for the centers for medicare and medicaid found the agency improperly paid $1.5 million in benefits to dead people between the years 2013 and 2015. now, according to the audit, the agency processed 1,047 medicare claims worth nearly $1.5 million for services after the recipient's date of death. how does this happen? well, while the agency does have processes in place to make sure benefits do not continue, it relies on data from the social security administration to prevent fraud. a spokesman said that the agency is strongly committed to program integrity efforts in medicare and continuously works to prevent improper payments to deceased ben fish yeficiarieben. clearly yet another example of big government waste of our hard-earned tax dollars. >> plenty of it. >> pretty unbelievable. >> glad we're working so hard. thank you, sheryl. meanwhile, he's the pint-sized politician taking the country by storm.

all of this. good morning, john. >> reporter: tucker, ainsley, steve, good morning to you. our political director asked me that same question the other day. do you want to go home to mommy and daddy or do you want to stay with trump? we chose to stay with trump. 28 days left until this election is over. donald trump's got a lot of work to do here in the sunshine state. he was leading in most of the polls, but now in the real clear politics average, hillary clinton has a lead of just under 2.5%. trump was here last night. he's going to be here today for two events and one event at noon tomorrow in west palm beach, trying to turn those numbers around. but laying a lot of blame at the feet of what he believes are turncoat republicans who came out and supported him but then when things got tough decided they were going to bail on him. paul ryan, the speaker of the house, has not rescinded his endorsement, says he's still going to vote for trump, but he's basically done with him, not going to campaign with him, not going to defend him. john mccain of arizona the other day, who asked for donald trump's endorsement for his

primary campaign, turned coat on donald trump and said he's not going to vote for him. trump talked with bill o'reilly last night about all of this. listen to what he says about john mccain, but first about paul ryan. >> we had a conference call yesterday with congressmen, with hundreds of them, and they practically rioted against him on the phone. one person stuck up for him. so look, i don't want his support. i don't care about his support. he's never heard salty language before. you know, john mccain, who has probably the dirtiest mouth in all of the senate. >> reporter: at the same time, he's fighting with some of his fellow republicans, he's also battling against hillary clinton. at a big rally in panama city, florida, yesterday, going after her on national security and the leaked e-mails that were put out via wikileaks, showing close ties between clinton campaign and the department of justice over the whole e-mail scandal. listen to how trump responded to that. >> the hillary clinton documents

released today by wikileaks make more clear than ever just how much is at stake in this election. this election will determine whether we remain a free country in the truest sense of the word or we become a corrupt banana republic. >> reporter: so where is all of this heading? randy evans, who's a senior member of the republican national committee, told me back in february that he believes that by november there could be three parties emerging in the united states, the democratic party, the republican party, and the trump party. we'll see how it goes. just a little less than four weeks left. >> we asked kellyanne conway that. she says she doesn't think that's happening, but a lot of people agree with you. >> all right. john, thank you very much. what would the mascot be for the trump party? the donkey for the democrats. >> the elephant. >> i don't know. good question. >> the hair? >> people forget, though, the debate is over style.

trump is rude. we're very offended by that. what people are missing is there are actual policy disagreements between the republican leadership in washington and donald trump. the central one is immigration. they've supported our current regime. you may agree with that or not, but we should be very honest that that really undergirds a lot of this. >> he was the anti-establishment guy. that's how he got past 16 other people. since this is where he started, if this continued to resonate going forward with 90% of the republican base and he energized that base to show up, what, three tuesdays from now, he'll win. >> he's saying he's unshackled now, taking off the shackles. we had kellyanne conway on the couch with us. we asked her about it. this is what she said. >> he's just unencumbered now. this idea of do you support us, do you not support us. he's the top of the ticket. he's the presidential nominee. past presidential nominees have

from a lefty think tank, a guy by the name of john halperin. they're ridiculing rupert murdoch, who runs fox news channel and news corp., and is the managing editor at "the wall street journal." a fellow by the name of robert thompson. ridicules them for being catholic and raising their children as catholics. and this is what the first fella, the guy at the think tank, john halperin says about catholicism. >> it is an amazing bastardization of the faith, he writes in this e-mail. they must be attracted to the systematic thought and severely backwards gender relations. jenn palmieri writes, i imagine they think it is the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion. their rich friends wouldn't understand if they became evangelica evangelicals. the contempt is unbelievable. think, 20 years ago many american catholics were democrats. the democratic party represented people like this. how much has the party changed? >> that shows you the direction of the country.

i believe my faith is extremely important to me. i'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. that's why i need to go to church. that's why i need faith in my life. i want to raise my daughter in a christian home. that's offensive to a lot of people, but it makes me feel sorry for them because they obviously haven't ever experienced the love and the forgiveness that i believe christianity brings to my home and to me. >> let's be honest. are sincere people of faith really the problem? are people who want to baptize their kids catholic the problem? they're not. >> people are raising their kids without faith. i think no matter what you're faith is, it convicts you, it prevents you from going down a wrong path in many cases. you know, it saves your life. >> but look at the double standard. we were talking about this earlier. had they been talking about islam and muslims instead of catholics, you know, "the new york times" would be putting out a special edition right now, every 15 minutes on the very latest on this. >> the president would have a primetime press conference.

>> we had steve hilton on earlier talking about this topic. he was once upon a time an adviser to david cameron from the uk. he said this -- he's disgusted. he's a catholic. listen. >> the attitude reveelt edreveat is so disgraceful. look at the outrage, the correct outrage, about donald trump's remarks the other day with respect to women. the remarks there about people with faith are just as bad in a different way. now, imagine further if those remarks were from republicans about people who are muslims. just imagine. in that line about thundershower lack of understanding about different types of christianity, they would like to see christ n christianity as politically on their side. in a way, that's worse. they want to make it political, to politicize something that is so deep and profound for people. i think it's really disgusting. >> big question is, is this how the campaign views catholics? she can't win without catholic

support. >> it will be interesting to see their response to this. in a normal year, in a normal campaign with a normal political party, you would have people falling all over themselves to apologize for this bigoted attack on people of faith. i don't think you're going to see that. >> that's too bad. >> those are just a few of the highlights from these e-mails. the list goes on and on. >> all right. 11 minutes after the top of the hour. a fox news alert. the fbi is looking into claims that a fiery plane crash was intentional. >> the survivor on board reveals that chilling detail to police as we learn that the student pilot, who was killed in the crash, is a jordanian national. >> our affiliate is live in east hartford, connecticut, with the red flags being raised after this crash. >> reporter: good morning. check out what's going on behind me here. this is just a few feet away from where this wreckage is. you can see investigators are out here this morning. there are members of the fbi, the faa all involved in this

investigation. in just the last hour, members of the national transportation safety board have also joined in to figure out exactly what caused this plane crash. we do know this morning that the plane was heading for the flight school just over our connecticut river here. the connecticut airport authority confirming to us there were two people on board. the pilot, a flying school instructor reportedly jumped out before crashing. another person on board, a student, did not make it out alive. here's where this all gets very interesting. "the new york times" is reporting that the pilot told investigators this crash was not an accident. they're also reporting that the student killed was a 28-year-old man from just outside the chicago area, that he was certified to fly a single-engine plane. the faa is telling us, however, that the plane that crashed was a twin engine piper pa-34. at a news conference, they updated us.

here to react is the milwaukee county sheriff, david clarke. sheriff, good to see you this morning. quite a part from this presidential race, nobody wants to believe our justice system is corrupt. yet, in this latest batch of e-mails, we see this. brian fallon says this. doj folks informed me there's a status hearing in this case this morning so we could have a window into the judge's thinking about this proposed production schedule as quickly as today. now, i don't see an alternate explanation here. seems like the department of justice is colluding with the clinton people, even as they investigate her e-mail matter. is that what it looks like to you? >> well, i don't know what you mean by the people don't want to believe that the united states department of justice is corrupt. it is corrupt, and it extends from the white house as well. this started out years ago when the then-attorney general eric

holder became the only attorney general in u.s. history to ever be found in contempt of congress. you know, this corruption, it's all throughout the government. it's the courts, it's our institutions of government, the higher ups at the fbi, u.s. doj, the congress, on and on. i believe the american people are finally going to have to rise up. it's pitchfork time in america to get these people out of here. this whole thing stinks. it's illegitimate. >> you, of course, work for the government. you're in law enforcement. you see the justice system at work every day. and you hate -- what i meant in my first question by you hate to think this, the idea that the average person is held to a different standard legally than people in power is the most corrosive idea that you could have. people really start to believe that, then that's a threat to our system itself, isn't it? >> it's a big threat to the system. they're going to have to believe it if it's going to change.

stuff up. >> doesn't he have a point? his campaign is arguing which is worse, his words or hillary's actions. it's an interesting question. joining us now, republican pollster kristen anderson, a columnist for "the washington examiner," and linda tram, democratic strategist and former staffer of tim kaine. first, i don't think anyone would argue that trump's comments on "access hollywood" don't constitute a news story. they do. but here you have a series of remarkable leaks from the chairman of the hillary campaign's e-mail account in which, among other things, you know, the hillary people attack catholics, appear to show coordination between the campaign and the justice department, et cetera. shouldn't the press be covering these things? >> well, look, i think the campaign has been pretty clear they're questioning the voracity of these e-mails. that's part of it. >> let me correct you. i don't think that's true. i don't think anyone in the campaign has said these are

forgeries. i don't think that's right. >> i think john podesta has been on air quite frequently saying he's questioning some of the vor rasty of the e-mails. that said, i think part of the issue is we're not comparing words from donald trump to words from hillary or some of of her senior advisers. we're looking at visuals from "access hollywood" and comparing that to words. visuals are compelling to people. so that's part of what's happening here. secondly, i think part of the issue is if what happened with donald trump actually impacts voters, it's mostly probably going to impact those white college-educated women voters. those have been people who have been really critical to republican victories in the past. >> i mean, there are two ways to look at that. one, as a sort of political matter. the other sort of revovls around substance. that's one of the calls that news organizations exist to make. i don't think any rational person could say trump's comments, ugly as they undoubtedly were, are more

inherently significant than some of the things we're learning from this document dump. could you reach that conclusion? >> i think they're boetd pretty significant. i think part of the reason why we're seeing perhaps less attention paid to the wikileaks dump than we are to the "access hollywood" tapes have to deal with the subject matter itself and what the american public is sort of hungry to see. i was fascinated on friday by the timing of the wikileaks dump. it seemed as though it was coming out an attempt to take people away from talking about the tapes. here's something else to talk about. sort of misreading that the american public, i think, is always going to want to watch a sex scandal unfold than sort of finding out yet again that hillary clinton and her team are less than forthright with the american people. i think part of it is just the shock factor. the idea that hillary clinton has secret positions that she holds behind closed doors or or actually wants open trade, i don't think these are things that actually surprise people as much as the tapes surprised people about what donald trump

was saying. >> so linda, can we clear up one factual point? you're hearing the hillary clinton campaign say this is the result of russia trying to influence the outcome of this election. i just want to be clear. we don't know that. we don't actually know where these leaks came from. we don't know that it the russian government or russian intelligence or russian military had anything to do with that? it's a lie, and they're trying to divert away from the substance of the e-mails. >> you know, i don't actually know where that information came from. i do know the campaign has been saying for quite a number of months now that some of the various document dumps that have happened along the way independent authorities have said have been part of a larger effort by russian government officials to interfere with the american campaign. >> it's just a big claim. and it's not true, so far as we know. so it's nice to point that out. i wish we had more time, we don't. thanks so much for joining us. honest abe lincoln sweeping the headlines since sunday's debate. now president lincoln's written record could be yours if you're willing to pay for it. a rare piece of history on
