election day. both donald trump and hillary clinton on the doorstep. >> key trump hitting six key battleground states while clinton hits seven holding the final rally with both the president and first lady. >> live team coverage this morning. kristen fisher following reaction from the clinton cam. >> but we begin with matt who is live in ann arbor, michigan. team trump slamming hillary clinton and the fbi. good morning, matt. >> reporter: good morning, everyone and everyone at home. in the final hours donald trump's campaign is blitzing what's become the critical state of michigan. donald trump has made a substantial dent in clinton's lead here. her lead dropping from 11 to 4 points according to the real clear average. if donald trump wants to win the white house he's got to win over a traditionally blue state, and that might just be michigan. at a rally of several,000 people last night, trump told the crowd clinton is guilty of corruption and will lose michigan.

take a listen. >> you can't review 650,000 new e-mails in eight days. you can't do it, folks. hillary clinton is guilty. she knows it. the fbi knows it. the people know it. now hillary's going to come out tomorrow and she's going to come out again. i told her via television. stop, you're wasting your time. the people are too smart. >> reporter: now today the trump campaign has one last day to energize and win over voters. trump and mike pence will barnstorm crucial states of minnesota, florida, michigan, north carolina, pennsylvania, and new hampshire. we are down to the final hours. clayton and heather, back to you. >> thanks, matt. now we want to turn to the democrats. hillary clinton rolling out a final ditch for support after being cleared by the feds. let's get to kristen fisher live in washington, d.c. kristen, clinton is pulling out the big guns in the final hours

e she is.mpaign. she has several big guns, president barack obama, her husband. first fbi director james comey just dropped another huge bomb. i mean, nine days after telling congress that the fbi was investigating more e-mails, he now says review is over, case closed. it turns out almost all of those newly discovered e-mails on anthony weiner's e-mails were duplicates already reviewed by the fbi. so director comey told congress yesterday that his decision to not recommend charges still stands. as you might imagine, it's a huge relief for the clinton campaign but also a source of tremendous frustration because they believe it should never have been brought back up to begin with. here's clinton's communication director jennifer palmieri yesterday. >> we have seen director comey's latest letter to the hill. we're glad to see that he has

found, we were confident that he would, that he has come to the conclusion that he reached in july. we're glad that this matter is resolved. >> so they're glad the matter is resolved but don't expect to hear too much more about it. the clinton campaign strategy going forward is to stop talking about it. they don't want voters to hear anything more about clinton add the fbi and her e-mails. clinton didn't mention it yesterday when the news broke. she mentioned what is truly at stake in this election. listen. >> our core values are being tested in this election. this election is a moment of reckoning. it is a choice between division or unity, between strong, steady leadership or a loose cannon who could put everything at risk. >> reporter: now today clinton is heading to two typical battle

grounds, north carolina, pennsylvania, and the fact that she's going to michigan, a state that's been reliably blue. president obama will be campaigning with her there today and with one day to go, it just goes to show you, heather and clayton, they're not taking any states for granted. >> kristin fisher line for us. thank you, kristin. the fbi may be letting hillary clinton off the hook, but will voters do the same? here to debate, democratic strategist chuck rocha and kristen hill. yet another surprise as this -- we didn't expect another one. since this letter came out, take a look at this. this was comey yesterday. he said the fbi investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of e-mails. based on our review, we have not changed our conclusion, that being their conclusion back in july. so, chuck, i'll start with you.

do you think that voters will also let hillary clinton off the hook? what does this mean? >> reporter: look, it's election eve. i don't think it's going to have a big impact. i think it's kind of baked in with hillary clinton. what we find with our polling, we talk to americans around the country. if the e-mail scandal affected you, you're already gone. you're a donald trump supporter, supporting some third party. here in the last waning moments, campaign one on one, they're putting the door hangers on they're going out to talk to people who they know are with you. i said the e-mail scandal may not have an effect on persuasion. it's too late to affect that. 47,000 people have already early voted. >> kristen, does it make the system look more corrupt to begin with? it's been eight, nine days. allegedly they've been able to go through all of these e-mails and determine nothing changed. >> reporter: first of all, one

of the big questions is how did they go through all of these e-mails in such a short time. most of the decisions are baked in. as for that 8% or so that are truly undecided though, this does not help hillary. this just keeps her dirty laundry on the front page of the news and it reminds people of her untrustworthiness. the damage was done 11 days ago when james comey made that initial announcement and this new announcement does not reverse that damage. it just kind of keeps reminding people of hillary's scandal. >> chuck, what do you think is going on here before we get to our second topic? bottom line. everybody was scratching their heads yesterday. democrats, republicans, undecideds, everyone. >> i'm not going to put words or figure out how the fbi looked at all of these e-mails, why they were looking at them, why he sent the letter. i run campaigns for a living. what i find is these last-minute surges and how is that really affecting the electorate.

we've been doing work in places like florida, nevada, north carolina, we've seen an electorate not very interested. we're seeing a trump surge a little bit. is it enough to catch up? it's like watching that baseball game and wondering what we're going to do in the bottom of the ninth. we're on the eve of the election. it's like christmas eve with no presents. >> no, you can't have that. kristen, since we're talking about the electorate, donald trump could still win it all. there are some new blue states that are in play just hours before the election. let's take a look at the fox news electoral scorecard. so far we have clinton 283, trump 192. the tossup 63. what do you think? how will this play out? >> yeah, trump could definitely still win this. ultimately this is a neck and neck race that will all come down to voter turnout. voter turnout is hard to predict. the best way is to measure enthusiasm. that's where clinton is struggling. the latest polls show that only

43% of her own supporters say they are very enthusiastic about her. this latest announcement from comey could actually mobilize trump supporters even more. trump supporters were livid by this new announcement by comey. in their mind if james comey will not deliver justice to clinton it's up to them to deliver justice at the voting booth so they could turn out in record numbers. if hillary sees low turnout with her base, she could lose it. >> where where she is benefitting at least right now so far from what i heard, florida specifically one of the key states, the hispanic vote is turning out in record high numbers. >> yeah, that's where trump is really going to struggle with the noncuban/hispanic vote. a lot of those folks are moving to florida. that right there could expand the non-cuban/hispanic population and not to swing that state for hillary and it all, again, depends on turnout there. trump, if i were him, i would really be focused on florida

right now. because he cannot win the white house without it. >> somewhere else he focused, chuck, is michigan as well. he's kind of considering that in play. >> yeah, it's really unique. today we will build out the rocha war room in d.c. to monitor this as the election results come in so we can talk about it tomorrow. keep your eye on north carolina/florida. if donald trump wins both of these, it's going to be a long night for everybody because it could literally go either way. now with michigan in play late and hillary going there, with us talking about michigan this late, anything could really happen. tonight when you're sitting in front of your tv watching fox news, keep your eye on north carolina and florida. they're going to be a barometer of what could happen. >> north carolina, florida, pennsylvania, ohio, going to be an excites night. we'll check back in with both of you in a little bit. >> did chuck say mamaw's cheese log? wow. i'd like to go to the rocha war room for cheese logs. 11 minutes after the hour.

donald trump and hillary clinton feeling the florida heat. the candidates now all tied up in the must-win state. bill keating live for from us hialeah with why florida is so crucial. good morning, phil. >> reporter: good morning, heather. record and historic early voter turnout here in florida over the past few weeks. 6.2 million votes already in the can, or in this case the ballot box. that is 48% of the total possible vote. on sunday steady lines and in some cases long lines of up to two hours as people participated in the very final day for early voting. and african-american church goers who went to sunday church

services and then caravanned by vehicle or marched on their feet participated in souls to the polls. mike pence went to panama city. vice president joe biden campaigned in pennsylvania for hillary clinton. today he will be in the sunshine state. he'll be in tallahassee, a democratic oasis in the pan h l panhandle and st. petersburg. president obama in kissimmee urging them to get out and vote. the average shows clinton 47%, trump 46%. clinton with a 1-point lead, but the latest cbs poll shows clinton 45%, trump 45%. a tossup. a dead heat and, remember, four years ago that's exactly what it was. president obama did win florida over mitt romney by less than a percentage point. so it's going to be tight and

it's still a dead heat and it is, of course, the largest electoral college prize and the biggest battleground state. back to you. >> thank you, phil. going to be tight. going to be exciting. we have some breaking news to report to you right now. some sad news. janet reno, the first woman to serve as u.s. attorney general, has died. she was 78 years old. reno's god daughter said that reno died early monday from complications of parkinson's disease. reno was one of the clinton administration's, you will recall, most recognizable, polarizing figures at times. she faced criticism early in her tenure for the deadly raid on the branch davidian compound in waco, texas, if you remember that. in spring of 2000 the miami native enraged some of the cuban community for 5-year-old elio gonzalez. the first woman to serve as u.s. attorney general has died at the

age of 78 according to her god daughter from complications from parkinson's disease. clayton. >> thanks, heather. florida isn't the only state to watch. scott rasmussen is here to break them down for us. nice to see you. let's waste no time. let's dive into the five states and how the senate races shape up. >> these five states are very important to most of the republicans. they have to win them if they want to keep control of the body. new hampshire, pennsylvania, wisconsin, missouri. let's start in nevada. this is harry reid's seat. republicans would love to pick it up. joe heck has a slight lead in the polls but the early voting trends don't seem to be going well for the republicans. this is a state republicans always look good in and struggle with when they come to election day. joe heck has a tough road ahead of him at the moment. >> let's talk about kelly ayott.

she has had a difficult balancing act. >> two women candidates, governor and senator. kelly ayott has been asked, i'm not endorsing him, how am i going to do this. >> right. >> this race is a pure tossup. ayotte has a little bit of an edge. this is a case, in fact if i had to pick one race to say how will we know who controls the senate, it's right here in new hampshire. >> let's go to the home of the philadelphia eagles, pennsylvania. >> i don't want to talk about it. >> katie mcginty/pat toomey. >> you have the philadelphia area going to vote heavily for the democrats. the rest of the state may not be enough. in some polls pat toomey is running just the same as donald trump. if donald trump loses by a little bit, he would lose by a little bit. in some polls he's doing well.

>> as a giants fan you get to rub it in. >> i wasn't going to bring that up. >> let's go to wisconsin. >> this is a race the democrats never thought would be in play this year. from the beginning of the year ron johnson was either the most vulnerable or second most vulnerable incumbent in the senate. they found it to be a tossup. a lot of people think johnson is going to come back. this is a rematch from six years ago. by the way, johnson, unlike a lot of senate republicans, did not modify his positions as the election day approached. he's just said here's who i am and let's make it work. >> let's go, 20 seconds left in the show me state. >> this is a state the republicans never thought would be in play. roy stunt has been running a strong campaign. if blunt wins, it's going to be the donald trump campaign pulled him over the top. >> scott rasmussen starting our

welcome back to "fox & friends first." one of the wildest presidential campaigns in history coming to a close almost. so where did it all begin? do you remember? let's go back to march 2nd of last year. hillary clinton hadn't announced her run yet when the "new york times" dropped this bombshell accusing her of using a personal e-mail server while secretary of state. here's a look back at what unfolded from there. >> i'm running for president. >> i am officially running for president of the united states.

>> reporter: with 16 other candidates tossing their names in the ring, the billionaire businessman quickly making headlines as the political outsider. >> you can't say tonight that you can make that pledge? >> i cannot say i have to respect the person that if it's not me, it's the person who wins. >> reporter: trump took down his republican opponents one by one but for hillary clinton, bernie sanders would not go quietly. >> maybe the american people might wonder about your qualifications, madam secretary. >> reporter: primary after primary, donald trump continued to dominate. after winning 36 out of 50 states, he would emerge as the last man standing. and then this happened. bill clinton had a secret meeting with loretta lynch on her private plane. the attorney general brought up the secret server. >> we spoke about a number of things. not much more to it than that. >> reporter: followed by a bombshell announcement by the

fbi. >> we cannot find a case. >> for bill clinton to go to the plane and it turned out that we're not going to press charges. really amazing. >> reporter: the trump train continued down the tracks picking up governor mike pence along the way. >> friends, delegates, and fellow americans, i humbly and gratefully accept your nomination. >> reporter: as clinton got ready to accept her party's nod, a damaging report from wikileaks. thousands of e-mails showing democrats plotting against bernie sanders, even attacking his religion. the dnc/cfo writing, does he believe in god? he has skated on saying he has a jewish heritage. i think he is an atheist. clinton would not be stopped. >> i accept your nomination for president of the united states. >> reporter: from there it was a september to remember. >> you could put half of trump's

supporters into what i call the basket of deplorables. >> reporter: two days later clinton is fainting at a september 11th memorial but she was back in fighting form for the first debate at hofstra. >> you know, he tried to switch from looks to stamina, but this is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs. >> i will release my tax returns against my lawyer's wishes when she releases her 33,000 e-mails that have been deleted. >> reporter: but then the tale of the tapes from "access hollywood." >> i'm automatically attracted to people. i just kiss them. when you're a star, they let you do it. you can do anything. i've said and done things i regret and i apologize. >> reporter: on to st. louis and the second presidential debate. >> it's just awfully good that someone the temperament of donald trump is not in charge of the law in our country. >> because you'd be in jail. >> reporter: and, finally, the showdown in sin city. >> she wants open borders.

>> will donald trump admit and condemn that the russians are doing this? >> that was a great pivot off the fact that she wants open borders, okay? >> how did we get on to putin? >> reporter: but october would not be complete without another surprise. 11 days before the investigation the fbi announces the investigation into clinton's e-mail server is being reopened. >> why in the world the fbi would decide to jump into an election with no evidence of any wrongdoing with just days to go. there is no case here. >> hillary is the one who broke the law over and over and over again. >> well, the time is now 28 minutes after the hour. hillary clinton off the hook again because the latest document dump from wikileaks suggest the fbi made the wrong decision. our political panel on stage for a fair and honest debate. candidates out for a final day of campaigning. more live coverage of the

washington, d.c., with more on that. good morning, kristin. >> reporter: hey, good morning, heather. we have president obama, michelle obama, bruce springstein, john bon jovi will be campaigning for hillary clinton. michigan is a state that's been reliably blue for decades, but trump has been campaigning there heavily for days. the clinton campaign is not taking any chances. she'll also be making final stops in pennsylvania and north carolina but don't expect her to talk about the fbi director's decision. the feeling from the clinton campaign is that they're relieved but frustrated. relieved that the fbi director is standing by the initial decision not to recommend charges but frustrated that he brought it back up this close to election day, especially since we now know that most of his newly discovered e-mails were duplicates. they had already been reviewed by the fbi. shortly before the news broke her campaign chair john podesta

had these very strong words for the leakers at the fbi. >> i think the leaks that have been ongoing, which is what hill was referring to, is worrisome. i think the men and women of the fbi are doing a tremendous job out here across the country but the leakers should shut up. >> all right. well, clearly clinton's top aides are going to be talking about it. yesterday clinton didn't even mention it. instead, she focused on what she believes is really at stake in this election. >> our core values are being tested in this election. this election is a moment of reckoning. it is a choice between division or unity, between strong, steady leadership or a loose cannon who could put everything at risk. >> so with just hours to go clinton is going to try to make this a referendum on trump and not make it all about her

e-mails. clayton? >> thanks, kristin fisher bright and early for us. the fbi stunning announcement, comes from a new clinton bombshell. in a wikileaks e-mail about chelsea, former clinton aide doug band writes the investigation into her getting paid for campaigning using foundation resources for her wedding and life for a decade, taxes on money from her parents, do these leaks suggest the fbi may have made the wrong decision? here to debate, gop strategist phillip and ee advantage gel line. were you surprised by the announcement? >> i wasn't surprised. >> 650,000 e-mails. in criticism, how does the fbi go through them that quickly? >> they go through them that quickly because they have meta data. they can compare them. many of the e-mails were duplicative and others were simply irrelevant. >> we have two different investigations here, right, phil? one is looking at the clinton foundation.

>> sure. >> now we have the revealed e-mails about chelsea clinton and whether the money was being used from the clinton foundation for her wedding. >> right. this is a big problem. if hillary wins the election tomorrow, this is going to keep going on and on and on. and i think if anything could unite the republican party after the election, it's the amount of investigations the republican congress will have that the fbi will continue doing. remember, the republican house is probably going to stay a republican majority so they're going to be able to investigate the clintons for years and frankly it's a unifying force for the republican party. >> what does hillary clinton need to say tomorrow night if she comes out as the winner tomorrow night. what does she need to say to try to unite the country? can she say anything that will get the trump supporters or are we going to have a divisive country for four years? >> her message is on point, she has policies and she has invited

trump supporters to come out and support her. so i think our nation sees that this is a capable leader that they can trust and i don't think that's going to be an issue. however, i do think the wikileaks e-mails, quote, unquote investigation into the clinton foundation. we know when it comes to mr. band there were issues between he and chelsea clinton. she had actually gotten a law firm to conduct an audit. so i think these e-mails basically show the fighting between the two more than anything else. i don't know how credible they are. >> why would band be going after hillary -- chelsea in these e-mails if he didn't think something was there. >> there was an audit. >> he was saying, don't initiate this. you're going to be implicated there. this is really important. from my perspective there is the chance for the party to come together and go after the

clintons. you may have a second impeached clinton out of this. >> radical. >> what do you need from the clinton foundation. the tentacles are all tied around them whether or not they're paying for chelsea's wedding, she's doing an internal audit. members are saying get chelsea out. >> that's what you do with a foundation. you do an audit. that is a good sign that you have a healthy foundation. >> i get that. how do you decouple yourself from the clinton foundation after election day? wash your hands of it? that's it, we're done, we're out. >> is the fbi going to look into wikileaks and any relationship it has with russia and donald trump and our elections and influence our elections? >> good case on that one though, the clinton foundation, what do the clintons do to walk away from it? >> they can't. they're tied for it. frankly, if the wikileaks towns come out better than the fbi doing their investigation, there's going to be real evidence. nothing in wikileaks that has come out -- everybody has been

corroborat corroborated. nothing has been fake. more and more will keep coming out. >> the campaign has verified all of these e-mails. >> that's their plan. >> and number two, i don't think -- number two, the important thing here are the voters and i don't think it's having the effect -- negative effect it's supposed to have. >> i think it's having a negative effect. >> look at the polls in florida. >> 4:42 in the morning and you guys are on fire. we have to break it up. >> thank you. >> thank you. heather, over to you. the time now is 15 minutes until the top of the hour and another server scandal for hillary clinton. >> just today we learned hillary clinton was sending highly classified information through her maid completely jeopardizing the national security of the united states. >> have you heard about this yet? the democratic nominee using her maid to print out classified e-mails at home? is this the kind of judgment that we want in our commander in

today we learned hillary clinton was sending highly classified information through her maid completely jeopardizing the national security of the united states. >> an outraged donald trump reacting to the latest clinton bombshell as new leaks reveal her maid was tapped with printing sensitive and classified documents with no security clearance. so is this the kind of judgment that we want in our commander in chief? here to weigh in, fox news contributor and veteran pete hegsted. thank you for joining us. does this surprise you? >> no, it doesn't. it's so flagrant. you understand the rules of classified information, first of all. she was reckless to begin with. but in her own home she had a secure area, secured room where she could read classified information. the door to the skip was left open.

the maid had access to it. unclassified computers were in there, which is a total no-no. anyone who's ever had security training knows that and then to give the aide access to print it out not just from clinton but to clinton's aides means anyone in the home would have had access. it is flagrant. it is reckless and these are people who understand the rules and are choosing to go around. it's not that she left the door open, she made her part of the process. look at some of these e-mails. we can show you. sensitive, sensitive, classified, classified asking that she print these out, hand them to other people and these are significant, you know, secret, classified information. >> yeah. maria is trying to print for you. can we ask maria to print this? it was understood that the standard operating procedure inside the clinton secretary of state office was to send e-mails that couldn't otherwise be

printed to the maid to print them out of a secure area or from a secure area and then hand them off. any security professional, military, government or otherwise would be fired on the spot for this type of conduct and criminally prosecuted for being so reckless with this kind of information. the fact that she wouldn't be held accountable for this i think blows the mind of anyone who's held our nations secrets dear, who has had a top secret clearance like i have or others who know even one hiccup causes a problem, let a lobe a standard procedure like this. >> what do you have to go through to get that top secret clearance. >> i'll tell you what, she couldn't get a top secret clearance today. if they were being honest about the process, she would be nowhere near that. they do a full background check, where you've traveled around the world. with this maid, why wouldn't she be a target of foreign intelligence. >> yeah. >> if they're already into her server, reading her e-mails then they identify maria.

why wouldn't she be app agent for foreign government. it's not just the movies, folks. once she's on the inside those could be given to someone quickly and easily. i don't know if they think they're playing games or this isn't real or real lives at stake but for military intelligence professionals, they understand this type of information either saves lives, creates opportunities for your nation, but it also creates vulnerabilities if it's not handled well. >> if someone else had done this, what would have happened to them? if someone had done what hillary clinton did and had someone who did not have security clearance printing off these materials involved in this transaction, what would happen to them? >> clearance gone and criminal prosecuti prosecution. the code of military justice is very clear that you would be court martialed. it's happened for much less. in fact, folks who have been sending information to the battlefield have been prosecuted, to health units. it's a mockery of the process is

>> reporter: clayton and heather, good morning. in a nutshell donald trump would grow the economy by cutting taxes on individuals and businesses. hillary clinton would go the opposite way by raising taxes on the well off and dramatically increasing government spending. >> the federal government is allowing other countries to rip this country off like you've never seen. >> reporter: since 2008 the u.s. has lost 2.1 million manufacturing jobs with another 800,000 expected to leave over the next decade according to the bureau of labor statistics. trump's solution, rip up existing trade deals, penalize countries that out source jobs and cut business taxes to 15% to entice them to stay. >> all of our policies should be geared for keeping jobs and wealth inside the united states. >> reporter: hillary clinton would pump up the economy with a tax cut for the middle class and small businesses and she wants to spend $300 billion on roads and bridges. 300 billion on paid family

leave. and 500 billion on college tuition subsidizing all families making less than $125,000 a year. >> we will fight to make college tuition free for the middle class and debt free for everyone. >> reporter: to pay for her plan clinton wants to raise taxes by $1.5 trillion a year. she focuses on investment gains and all states with $3.5 million. >> wall street corporations and the super rich should finally pay their fair share of taxes. >> reporter: but some worry that higher taxes will keep the slowest job recovery since world war ii at a snails pace. union membership has continued its steady decline. the bureau of labor statistics reports there are as many union workers in government jobs as in the private sector. union leaders say hillary clinton's plan to increase spending on health care and infrastructure will help those who remain. and the latest jobs report did
