>> it looks like the investors agree. we are here with the dow's record high closing last night. >> the biggest issue for america when they went to the polls is the economy. look at how the markets reacted. the investors took a step back and realized whether it is less regulation or the corporate tax rate going down whether it is growth we may finally see in the country under donald trump. dow gained 218 points that was a record a gain of more than 1 percent in the s&p. the nasdaq a different story. the tech companies sold off the concern among wall street investors that president elect trump is going to put in protectionist policies. they are looking for overseas talent and they manufacturer overseas the components in the

it is veteran's day. two years after the va deadly wait time scandal was exposed where does the state of veterans affairs stand right now? >> what does president elect donald trump need to do to fix it? >> we will also finally take care of our great veterans. we have been so loyal and i have got to know so many over this 18 month journey. the time i have spent with them during the campaign has been among my greatest honors. our vets are great people. >> here to weigh in army veteran himself pete hegstep. >> happy veteran's day. all of this started to unfold back in 2014 with a

whistleblower who talked about the extended wait times and delays. where does it stand now in terms of veteran's affairs and their care? >> that is exactly right. in 2014 this hospital right behind me the whistleblowers exposed excessive wait times and secret lists that were enabling that. fast forward more than two years later the inspector general says these problems aren't fixed. we have chaos and veterans waiting a long time. appointments being canceled. at this phoenix va seven directors since sharon hellman was fired. still lack of lead der ship and accountability. i can say talking to veterans and others wait times are still as bad as they have always been. you have not had a culture change yet at the department of veteran's affairs. >> many people are feeling that pain. he talked about wanting to make big changes when it comes to the va.

some of the things talk about en sure vets get the care they need. meet the needs of the female vets and fire corrupt va execs. how tough is it going to be for him to do these things in>> it will be tough because the va unions will fight back against him. he has made it a priority. he has to hire an aggressive va secretary. they need to fire employees at any level. ultimately the most important aspect i think is giving veterans a choice go to a private provider if they need to. that creates competition a hospital like this will need if they treat veterans like customers as opposed to numbers. they are caught in a burr rock see that are faesless. you talk to veterans they are optimistic he will change the

culture of the va. >> how long will this take in they have been waiting too long for these changes already. >> it will take a while. you have got -- it's a 340,000 person bureaucracy, 160 hospitals. it is a single payer government healthcare. until you have leadership willing to claen house it will take years. it will change culture and when you do it cascades down to those doctors, to those nurses. the whistleblowers will be standing up sharing information. what we have been doing hasn't worked. spending billions more and hoping the system will reform itself is not a solution. you knead a real change agent. that's what donald trump represents and we are hopeful. >> lead from the top. >> it is veteran's day. i want to give a shout out to my two brothers who are in the navy and so many other heros. it is dark but you are in phoenix awaiting the phoenix veteran's day parade one of the biggest in the nation.
