10:00 pm
tomorrow we're going to napels, florida, we'll have a book signing at the barnes & noble. then the villages which we're looking forward to, and thank you for watching. hope to see you soon. good night. tonight. a trump administration will stop the jobs from leaving america. >> president elect trump keeps a campaign promise by striking a deal with carrier to keep jobs here in the u.s. and vice president elect governor mike pence heds to capitol hill to meet with republican leaders. newt gingrich is here to react to it all. >> the president elect's assertion about voter fraud had no basis in reality. and cnn takes shots at the president elect. we react to the liberal media bias. and donald trump says the somali
10:01 pm
refugee who carried out the ohio state terror attack shouldn't have been allowed in the country. all of that plus i go one on one tonight with geraldo ra via. donald trump is fulfilling key campaign promises and scoring wins on behalf of you. newt gingrich will be here with reaction. first, tonight's opening monologue. last night in a major win for american workers, donald trump tweeted that heas broke an deal with air-conditioning manufacturer, carrier, to keep about 1,000 job that it was planning to send to mexico right here in america. we'll be joined by a long time carrier employee for reaction, and tomorrow president elect trump will travel with mike pence to a carrier factory in indiana to announce more about the details and about the deal. alongside company officials.
10:02 pm
but that's not the only major campaign promise that he's working to keep. the president elect's nominee for the treasury secretary steve munchen is saying the incoming president trump will put together a massive reagan like tax cutting plan. let's take a look. >> we're already sitting down and discussing this with congress. it's going to be something that happens within the first 90 days of this presidency. we're going to have a major tax reform. bilge it's a very large middle income tax cut that will help this country. >> he's also revealing the trump team is moving ahead with the president elect's plan to allow multinational corporations to repatriate trillions of dollars held oversea at a 10% rate so they can bring all that money back to america to build factories, manufacturing centers and create jobs. then there's obama care. trump has vowed to repeal and
10:03 pm
replace that disastrous health care law. last night on this program, mike pence said doing so is at the top of mr. trump's agenda. >> the president elect has made it clear. he wants the congress when they convene in early january to take up the task of repealing and replacing backup care first. and the appointment of dr. tom price as the head of health and human services someone who for the last half a dozen years has been in the forefront of efforts not only to appeal obama care but put in common sense things to control health care costs. during the campaign donald trump made specific promises to the american people, and as we've said before in this program, in order for him to be a successful president, i think all the president elect has to do, go down the list, start checking off the things he promised. before we get to newt gingrich,
10:04 pm
joining us is robin maynard. he believes his job at carrier was saved because of the deal that was announced. thank you for being with us. >> good evening, sir. >> okay. i watched that announcement. everybody was in a state of shock. your jobs, you thought were all going away. you worked for this company for 24 years. i'm sure that was not a good day in your life. >> it wasn't. kind of a devastating, to speak the least. >> what's your reaction to the deal? >> very excited. looking to finish my career with carrier and proud to have a job to finish out that career. >> yeah. 24 years is a long time, and then to be out and in a job market where we have the lowest parms rates since the 70s is tough. what do you say specifically? i can't think of another instance off the top of my head where a president or president elect picks up the phone and
10:05 pm
says don't send these jobs to mexico. keep them here. we're going to lower the corporate tax rate. we have other incentives to be making for all corporations. what do you have to say to president elect trump, vice president elect pence? >> i would like to personally thank them. shake their hands tomorrow, and just tell them thank you for going to bat for the blue collar workers, and us little guys down here, in saving our jobs and keeping them here in america, not sending them to mexico or somewhere else out of the country and just really appreciate them taking time out of their busy schedule, and out of their holiday time at thanksgiving to start working on this, and then to put it into action a couple days later, to end up having -- >> let me ask you this last question. how bad would things have gotten for you if you lost this job? >> i had some context that i
10:06 pm
could have been favorable for me. but i'm 53 years old, and i wasn't cherishing going out and looking for a new job and a new career starting over. i do have a daughter that is a senior in high school. she's looking to go into the medical field. >> would it be fair to say for some people it could have been devastating, people you know? >> yes. yes. it could have been devastating for a lot of people. there are some families in there that are multiple income from our factory, a husband and wife both worked there. several relatives of other people. you know? could have trickled down effect on all of us. >> could have affected a lot of people. >> robin, next air conditioner i buy, because i'm glad we're making them here is going to be a carrier. that's my promise to you. >> thank you. >> thank you. and joining us with reaction author of the best selling book,
10:07 pm
"treason", newt gingrich. 1,000 jobs may not seem like a lot to some people, but these are 1,000 people who maybe won't lose their home or have to give back their car. can sends their kids to the college they've been saving for. won't have to go out in their 50s and look for a new career. for me, it's a good start. g first of all, 1,000 families going into christmas with a new sense of hope and optimism is a pretty good present from president elect trump and a signal to businesses across america that he is serious about making america great again and making us the center of manufacturing again. it also is going to put pressure on congress to pass the kind of tax changes that the knew treasury secretary is talking about that we have to have for the carriers and fords and others to stay in the u.s. so it's a great day. it's something that the fact that president elect trump could pull it off is a big feather in
10:08 pm
his cap and is a reminder of how much different he is from his opponent. >> how does chuck schumer, he made the comment today about tom price. okay. you know what's coming. he says it's clear washington republicans are plotting a war with seniors next year. does that mean the people in the villages need to dust off their muskets and pull out their pistols and prepare because trump's army is going to declare war and he's probably going to start with the largest population of elderly and start going after the villages people? >> no. you know what it means, sadly? that chuck schumer just like nancy pelosi, has no ideas. he has no solutions. he has no reforms. what he's got is baloney. they're becoming the baloney party. he walks around saying things
10:09 pm
people knows aren't true. there is not a word of truth to that allegation. schumer knows it. the american people have grown up. they're tired of politicians who offer nothing but attack phrases and have no answers or solutions. >> the people in the villages watching tonight are happy. they won't have to pull out their guns and get ready for the war about to be started against them, but -- >> the people -- wait. i've been in the villages a lot. the people of the villages are a lot more likely to rally to donald trump than to rally to chuck schumer. >> i agree. they're going to be turning their golf carts into tanks and turning those golf carts into tanks. but on a more serious note, this is a real strategy that they used against you. before you ever became speaker, i was mcing the event the night you got elected. they were calling the grinnage
10:10 pm
the gingrich that stole christmas and you breaking tiny tim's crutch. it's a narrative they always use. why will it not be effective here this >> sure. well, first of all, they used it against me, and it battered my personal name i.d. some, but we got reelected in 1996 for the first time since 1928. no house republican majority had been reelected in 68 year. we've held the house except for a brief period ever since. i think it's great for us. if they want to be negative and stupid, if they want to make baloney the symbol of their party, i think all that does is guarantee republican victories. but i also think it's sad in the sense that the democratic party used to be a party of ideas. it used to be a party that tried to govern. they are degenerating rapidly into a sort of fringe party that relies on nasty slogans and identity politics, and that's
10:11 pm
just too narrow a base to run the country. >> we'll come back. you have three specific challenges that you think donald trump has. w50e8 we'll get to that next. and after promising congress will move quickly on the agenda, mike pence met with leaders on capitol hill. we'll have more on that. and also. >> i kept thinking doesn't he have a briefing book on isis to be reading? do you think it's sunk in that he's president elect of the united states? >> the bias cnn, the network that colluded with hillary clinton continues to bash donald trump. we are weigh in on that and more straight ahead on "hannity".
10:12 pm
10:13 pm
10:14 pm
live from america's news head quarters, i'm jackie. california congresswoman nancy pelosi gets to keep her job as house minority leader. surviving a challenge from tim ryan despite widespread frustration among democrats over the election results. democrats will remain in the minority. with president-elect trump they won't have a barricade of the president. the plane that crashed told air traffic controllers he had run out of fuel. on a leaked recording the pilot can be heard requesting permission to land in fact he was told to wait because another plane was first in line. 71 people died. six people survived. now back to "hannity".
10:15 pm
for your headlines log onto foxnews.com. welcome back to "hannity". mike pence held meeting with the speaker of the house. the transition team is hard at work filling key positions. we continue you with newt gingrich. you described president-elect trump's three greatest challenges. tell us what you think they are. >> i'm going to say this. this came from my own experience and being the speaker of the house, and it came from my experience working with reagan in 1980. the biggest challenge is to recognize that this is now a time of really dramatic change. and that he has to focus on the things that really matter that make the change. the city of washington is going to rush up to him and say be reasonable. being reasonable in washington means selling out. you'll remember this from the night you were with us in 1994 when all of our key supporters said about 2:00 in the morning, please don't go to washington and sell out.
10:16 pm
so the first thing is, you have to remember what you campaigned on, why you won, and you have to stick with it. he has a contract with the american voters, a new deal for african americans. "the washington post" did a pretty good job of printing over 200 specific campaign promises. he needs to check them off and not be reasonable but insist that washington change. second, he cannot allow the urgent to drive out the important. he has to get up every morning and remember what is he trying to accomplish? how is he going to get it done? lots of little things will crowd in every day. they'll try to take away his energy and his time. it will be worse for his staff and cabinet and others. he has to come back to the big things. he has to stay focussed on those things and not get off on other things. finally, it's important for him to figure out three to five things, no more, that are the key to his presidency. the things he wants to be measured on in 2020.
10:17 pm
'has to come up every morning and say to himself, these are the things i'm going to make sure happen. economic growth is clearly one of them. dealing with the southern border is one. fixing the health system has to be one. he can't have more than about five big things and stay focussed on. that was the key to reagan's success. >> you hear "the washington post" printed out what they have, 282 promises of donald trump. they got it right there. a lot of them are overlapping, obviously. you tell the story that when you became speaker three days later you went to the heritage foundation and said these words, i will cooperate, but i won't compromise. you said reasonableness will be the death of trumpism. explain that. >> right. well, chuck schumer is going to say let's be reasonable. i'll pass a bill you like as long as it's totally acceptable to democrats and the public employee unions and liberals. but we can be reasonable.
10:18 pm
that means give up everything you campaigned on and everything you promised the american people before you. if trump says, you know, i'm going to stick with what i believe in, what i campaigned on, what i got elected for, they'll scream starting with the washington post and new york times, he's being unreasonable, and i think that's why something you and i agree on, they should rethink the whole concept of the white house press corp. and come up with a new model and not allow the modern media to dominate press coverage. >> let's talk about the rules of senate. if legislation is stopped, it will be in the senate. and we know that harry reid set a precedent using the nuclear option, and i think some republicans are hesitant to do it themselves. but if things get stuck, he has to pass things. energy independence is a big component.
10:19 pm
eliminating obama care, a 15% tax hiem. repatriation. those are all big parts of what would be a recovery plan for the country, but let's say they try to filibuster. what does he do? >> well, you go to the country. there's a great book called the education of ronald reagan which i recommend everybody by tom evans. it talks about how reagan learned how to communicate with people and move popular opinion. his theory was that he would shine the light on the country and the american people would turn up the heat on congress. there are 23 democratic senators up for reelection in 2018. now, we should be able to find six to eight of these senators who simply can't afford to vote no every day. we should drive home again and again that we're either going to beat you or you vote with us. start with things like reforming
10:20 pm
the veteran's administration, having a tax cut for economic improet growth, and you win, but i'd be cautious about changing the senate for this reason. every time obama did something that was totally partisan, the stimulus, obama care, it backfired, because totally partisan bills aren't very well thought out. it's a virtue of the legislative process. >> a virtue, but i worry about one issue they talk about. i believe we need to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, but they're talking about a trillion dollar price tag. i don't hear pay as you go, but they talked about the penny plan which i support. here's the other problem. when we spent money on the stimulus, it was misappropriated. it didn't get to where it needed to go. is there a way to pay for this as you go? should there be a commission to discuss how to distribute the funds? a trillion dollars is a lot of
10:21 pm
money. >> look, i'm very excited about this. on december 13th i'm going to give a speech to heritage foundation on the principles of trumpism. this is one of the key areas. if we do a fundamental overhaul of how we do infrastructure, applying the lessons, a skating rink in central park, or the trump building in the bronx where he literally took enormous amounts of costs out of the system. if we apply these principles, we can huge a huge infrastructure inexpensi inexpensively. if we use ones others have used, we can cut 40% out of the cost of infrastructure. if we then open up federal lands for minerals, open up federal lands for energy, we can generate over a ten year period a huge amount of money that will enable us to pay for this. you could put together a paid
10:22 pm
for infrastructure program, but that requires a new approach. it requires giving up the baloney washington is dominated by and applying the principle donald trump has applied in his life. >> democrats always want money and want to spend it. for example, you always get the tax increase. you never get the tax cut. you always get promises of -- you always get the government spend snchlgt. >> that's why you can't be reasonable. that's why you have to come in and say i'm prepared to give the democratic mayor's infrastructure if they're prepared to give us the ability to open up federal land for oil and gas and minerals. now suddenly you have a package. now, i think a lot of the mayors are going to say i really need my roads and my water system taken care of. when you look at how bad the flint, michigan water system is, it's clear we need a substantial infrastructure program. but then you cut through the red tape and you apply the principles of trump, and now you
10:23 pm
have a dynamic, exciting program. all right. that's a big challenge. thank you. appreciate it. >> it is. >> coming up next. >> i kept thinking doesn't he have like a briefing book on isis to be reading? should his behavior change more? do you think it sunk in that he's president-elect of the united states? >> cnn is losing it after president-elect trump calls out their abusively bias left wing coverage. we have people weighing in, and later tonight trump says the somali refugee who carried out the attack on monday should not have been allowed in the country. we'll go one on one on extreme vetting. with a free picture with santa and big savings. like savings of $50 on this sportsman's elite 30" digital electric smoker. plus, visit basspro.com for daily cyber week specials and free shipping.

10:26 pm
against president-elect donald trump and perhaps the most one sided dishonest offender of this is cnn. let's take a look at their negative coverage just from last night. one night only. >> when i first heard he was tweeting about something that was on this broadcast a number of tweets, again, not fact wall, last night, i kept thinking doesn't he have a briefing book on isis to be reading. he is the president-elect of the united states. i mean, should his behavior change more? do you think it sunk in that he's president-elect of the united states? >> president-elect donald trump announcing more cabinet posts while continuing to attack the media, particularly cnn for pointing out his claim that there were millions of fraudulent votes is baseless. it has been 125 days since mr. trump took questions from reporters in a formal press conference. >> why should he go to cnn? you guys were colluding with the
10:27 pm
clinton campaign. sadly, that's not all. since the moment donald trump was the president-elect, the majority of cnn's coverage has been so negative and in some cases just downright nasty. watch this. >> this was a white lash. this was a white lash against a changing country. it was a white lash against a black president in part. >> i want to recognize a lot of our viewers at home. this is frightening to them. we should acknowledge that. this may feel to a lot of viewers like a national emergency. why? because steve bannon has been described as someone described has a white supremacist. >> inflammatory words about islam from donald trump's choice to be his white house national security advisor. >> this hour hateful groups emboldened by donald trump's election. online opinions moving offline. >> he doesn't like people setting fire to the flag because they're protesting him. he doesn't mind if someone stands up and complains about
10:28 pm
someone else. he doesn't understand he's a steward of how to do things in america to keep it open and free. >> with us eric bowling. eb and kg. that's what we call you around the building. you watch that every single night. we know that cnn colluded with the clinton campaign. they were seeking out questionso ask donald trump. they were feeding questions to hillary before a town hall. >> they got caught with their pants down and it wasn't pretty. that's all i got to say. >> that's very descriptive, kg. >> really. >> it's true. >> they were exposed for the hypocrisy. . they were a cnn clinton network. they were in the bag for her. they should hash tag every time they do a tweet, i'm with her. now they're upset because their candidate didn't win and they're
10:29 pm
trying to trash tack president-elect donald trump who has overwhelming support and lit the country red because people were tired of the mainstream media, tired of politics as usual and wanted somebody that was going to do something different and drain the swamp. >> they're making a big deal in the liberal media about what they call fake news. if you're "the new york times" or politico and allowing only clinton to edit a piece you're writing about her before it goes out and not doing the same for the other candidate, you're fake news. if you're feeding questions to one candidate, you're fake news. >> fake news is entertainment. look at the source. it's what you point out. when "the washington post," when "the new york times," politico have stories that are only geared toward trashing one candidate and propping up the other, that's even worse than fake news. that's propaganda. >> this is an opinion show. but we say we're an opinion
10:30 pm
show. there's a whole variety of opinions on your show. >> yes. a lot of opinions. >> and fox news just posted a massive number of ratings for november. we beat everyone in all news. all cable, not just all news. why? we had people who love trump and people who didn't. they were able to voice their opinion. it's when you get to the one side, the echo chamber. you're saying i want only half the audience. >> people have a choice in who you watch. and as you saw with the record numbers for fox because we are presenting both sides, we have a great news division and great opinion. >> here's the question i want to get to. i've been making the case the media does not have the same stature they once had. they've been exposed as taking a side. so why should donald trump have a white house press room in the traditional sense where can you imagine 55 sean hannitys and
10:31 pm
kimberlys against obama. all these news organizations supported hillary. why did they get that highly coveted seat when they've taken sides? >> i like the idea. you bring it to the table. you get access. >> even if you colluded? >> listen, look what happened. >> why are you standing up for them? >> he's what happened. we had almost the entire print media against donald trump. most cable news, and the mainstream media. here's the point. he rose above it, and people saw it. >> he didn't play their game. >> he saw through it. look at the dishonest media. he'd look at the camera. it resonated. >> he's got to do this fake dog phony pony show with the media every day that he knows hates him, that's not going to cover him fairly and lies about him? sometimes they're right. >> didn't show his rallies or the support for the movement. that's why people feel duped.
10:32 pm
blame the people that weren't accurately reporting what was happening in this country and you woke up with a shock and awe hangover on election day because wait a second, what just happened? did we miss this? you weren't looking at what was happening across the country. >> i think unless and until they apologize for what they did, what they got caught doing. >> they're getting caught. >> they're not apologizing. you don't get in the white house press room. >> "the huffington post." donald trump said they put him in the entertainment section. >> sometimes i'm sorry isn't good enough. they need to change the way they report. >> bryan stelter said we need soul searching. >> the market is punishing them enough. >> but they don't deserve the white house press office. coming up, president-elect trump tweeting the 18-year-old somali refugee who carried out the attack at ohio state on monday shouldn't have been allowed into the country. is he right?
10:33 pm

10:38 pm
at the time we are not aware of anyone else being involved in the planning to of this attack, but the investigation continues. it appears that he may have at least been inspired by the islamic state. and we will continue to pursue this as part of this investigation. >> that was an fbi official earlier today giving an update into the investigation of monday's ohio state university attack. president-elect trump is also reacting. he was tweeting, quote, isis is taking credit for the terrible stabbing attack at ohio state university by a somali refugee who should not have been in our country. so how did this radical islamist
10:39 pm
fly under the radar when he was reportedly posting messages oh on social media? we have a guest. dr. gor ka, almost without exception we found out after the attack they telegraphed it. they post it on social media their radical leaning. why have we not started some system of monitoring these radicals and getting to them before they attack? >> sure. really, are you wanting to undermine the civil rights of terrorists? that's what the obama administration says. that's how an immigrant comes to san bernardino who has been studying in south asia, and the state department who is looking at her fiance visa application isn't allowed to look at her facebook page. it's insanity. it's absolute insanity.
10:40 pm
that's the obama counterterrorism of today. >> we find out after something happens. here's the next question. how many of these people that have been responsible for attacks have been either saudi arabia or to pakistan, also shae a somalia. are we gambling with people's lives? >> i think it was reported yet on breitbart.com, they've done the analysis in the last 15 years of all the people who have been convicted oh of terrorism in america in 15 years, more than half of them were immigrants or people not born in the united states. this is why donald trump won the election in part. because he's reapplying common sense to national security. if you can't secure your border, you will have threats to the
10:41 pm
citizenry of the united states. if you're not allowed to look at what people are posting on the internet, that it's pro sharia law, you will miss these people before they read and inspire, how to kill their fellow americans. january 20th will be when common sense reenters the united states government, sean. >> it seems this is simple. if you come from a country where you have a culture that lends it to values that contradict our constitutional values, isn't that enough to say that maybe we shouldn't risk bringing you into this country? in other words, if you grew up in a country that says you as a man tell women if they can drive, how they dress, whether they can go to work or school, or under a culture that kills gays and lesbians, persecutes christians and jews, why can we
10:42 pm
say you're too big a risk? is that bigotry? >> you're such a hater. you are such a hater. >> i've been called worse. i've been called a lot worse. >> seriously. this happens because the ideology of the administration is based on multi-culturism. all cultures are equal, and they mean they're all better than american culture. as a result you're not allowed to make value judgments. the idea that female genital mutilation is wrong, you're a bigot if you say that. the idea a woman has to be covered and walk 20 paces behind me, you're somebody who is islamaphobist. >> up next here on "hannity." >> extreme vetting. after all, that is what taking the oath of citizenship is all about. >> we'll follow up. donald trump's call for extreme

i really did save hundreds on my car insurance with geico. i should take a closer look at geico... geico has a long history of great savings and great service. over seventy-five years. wait. seventy-five years? that is great. speaking of great, check out these hot riffs. you like smash mouth? uh, yeah i have an early day tomorrow so... wait. almost there. goodnight, bruce. gotta tune the "a." my plan suspends visas when we can't perform effective screenings. and it puts forward a new ideological screening program to keep out people from our country who don't support our values. i'm calling it extreme vetting. extreme vetting. after all, that is what taking the oath of citizenship is all about. >> donald trump on the campaign trail warning about the need to vet refugees who come into this country, especially from regions whose values do not match that of our own. hear with reaction, donald trump's plan for extreme vetting, fox news geraldo rivera. >> the big question everyone
10:49 pm
wants to know in the whole leadup to the election, you were thinking about voting for trump, but you never said what you were going to do. >> right. >> what did you do? >> i'm going to back into my answer. i think, first of all, you were the most effective commentator in the entire world when it came to this election. you saw trump early on as the force that he would be. remember, we had him on your program the day after the celebrity apprentice where he chose the other candidate and asked should i run for president. you saw something in trump when there was still 17 candidates. no one else in the world did. i mean this from the bottom of my heart. you defied the critics. you never waivered. you could have backed out. when he made every one of the mistakes, the disabled reporter and the mexican rapists, there were so many miscues where you could have abandoned him, and you didn't, for did, obviously,
10:50 pm
