back home on monday. thanks for watching. here's sean who has trump. welcome to "hannity" and we are in cincinnati, welcome to "hannity". donald trump and mike pence are here on what they're calling the thank you tour. they were at cary air conditioner today and the president-elect, his first cable interview is here with us. it's the first time you've been on since? >> it's appropriate it's with you. on since. >> it's appropriate it's with you. >> has it hit you, the magnitude of all of this. >> it does hit me but there's so much work to be done. we worked out a deal with carrier where they're going to keep over 1100 people in this united states, in this case in indiana. it's been a great day and they're a great company. they were moving to mexico lock

stock and barrel and now they've changed their mind and they're staying in this country where they should be. and we're very happy about it. >> you seem to have not taken a day off. i've been watching monday through friday, saturday and sunday, a lot of people coming in and out visiting you. and you actually said in the "60 minutes" interview you want to roll up your sleeves and get to work. you don't want a vacation. >> that's true. you take a little vacation every once in a while but this has been a great experience for me. i love it. i want to help people. we help people, like with the carrier folks. they're going to have a good christmas. i enjoy doing it. if it's work, you can't do it. if it's not work, it's fun. we're doing a thank you ohio and then thank you iowa. we're going to do a tour throughout some of the great states that were so good to us, the swing states. we won almost all of them. we're going to make ten stops and do thank you tours. >> how is the process.

you've made a lot of selections, couple more to go. >> we've made some great selections. more than a few. but it's been a well oiled machine. we're doing well, getting fantastic people and very good reviews. we've done. specting the >> i think you've been more gracious and maybe more magnanimous than i would be. you've now met with governor mitt romney twice. >> it was good. we got along very well. he was very very nice, very nice in terms of his remarks afterwards. and i think it was very good. we have some terrific people and terrific people to come. >> and i assume those decisions are going to be made. you had told me throughout the campaign, i would go through a list of issues, supreme court justice, vetting refugees, building the wall. like on "60 minutes" part of it might be a fence. people say you've changed your mind. you haven't changed your mind. you tld told me that during the election. >> i heard that a few times.

there are a certain places you don't need a wall because you have mountains, you have other things, you have large and rather vicious rivers. no. we're building a wall. it's going to be a real wall because we're going to stop the drugs from coming in. we're going to have people come in but they're coming in legally and we're going to have a great wall. we're going to have a real wall and we're going to stop what's happening because what is happening in our country is very sad in so many different ways. we're going to stop the drugs from coming in. >> one of the things that you have an opportunity, you have a republican house and a republican senate. >> right. first time in a long time. >> first time in a long time and even people like paul ryan, mitch mcconnell, you've been talking to these people regularly. how has that been going. >> going great. paul and i have become, you know, very close i think. we agree on a lot of things. we're going to put in a health care bill, a real strong health care bill. i think it's going to be terrific. the obamacare, you look at what's happening, you see it in your report all of the time when you see 116% increases in

arizona and you see the kind of numbers you're talking about and the tremendously high deductibles where you don't even get to use it. so we're going to do something that's great for the people and a lot less expensive. much better and less expensive. >> i looked at four things that i think would lead to great economic success. 15% corporate tax rate, repatriation of trillions, obamacare will be a tax cut for some people and energy independence is huge. how much of this do you think you'll be able to do through rescinding executive orders. >> i think we're going to do a lot of it and we're going to be rescinding executive orders but i don't think we're going to have to use very many executive orders because we have a congress that's going to go along with things. and i think a lot of democrats are going to join the train if you want to know the truth. >> have you talked to any? >> yes, i have. a lot of people said he's never been in politics. i've really been very active, mostly from the other side. but we're going to have a lot of

democrats joining us on a lot of things, maib even health care. so many of the things we're pushing, they're common sense and we'll get a lot of support and that's going to start happening very soon. >> one of the things i went through, you're still solid on supreme court justices, originalists. >> yeah, have one to appoint very soon. i'm down to probably three or four. >> doctare they from your list? >> from the list. terrific people, highly pt ar l respected, brilliant people. >> and you'll have extreme vetting. >> very extreme. >> corporate tax rate. >> right. >> and you're going to have -- >> remember, we're also cutting taxes for the middle class, we're cutting taxes for virtually everybody. not just corporate. corporate is important because it's going to create jobs like you've never seen. we're simplifying the system. it's going to be a tremendous tax cut. >> how long after you studied

and looked at it, i see many good paying jobs for people. how big is that? >> we have so much energy that we never knew about. modern technology starting six years ago. the technology is incredible. we're sitting on vast wealth, we never knew we had it. we have more than saudi arabia. more than you believe is possible. we're going to start using it. we're going to put the miners back to work, the steelworkers back to work. we're going to make steel for ourselves when we build building instead of bringing it from other countries. we're going to have a great time doing it. >> since you've been elected some people have had a hard time dealing with it, poor kids on college campuses have their professors giving them cocoa and aromatherapy and pet therapy, coloring books and play dough. anything you would like to say to them to reassure their sensitive feelings that it will be okay? >> i think they're going to be very happy.

i think we're going to have a safe country, a prosperous country, we're going to do things to create jobs where their parents will do much better. although most of their parents voted for me. they don't have a pron proble p. i hope they realize that very soon. >> 1100 families don't have to sell their house, car, worry about sending their kids to college. mr. president-elect thanks for spending time with us and congratulations on your win. >> thank you very much. when we come back we'll check in with vice president president-elect mike pence. and also rinse prebuice aeince h more as we continue. >> i'm here for one reason, to say thank you to ohio. thank you. we won the state by almost ten points. which they say is totally unheard of. in fact, i don't know if you

know, but it's the beginning. they say you have to win ohio. you must win ohio, right? you heard it. over and over and over. and we started off sort of even and then we were one up and two up. we didn't have much help at the top levels, you know that, right? we seek peace and harmony with the nations of the world but that means recognizing the right of every conscience, inchugd our own to look after its citizens. we would put other countries first. we had people running our country that truly didn't know what the hell they were doing. okay? didn't know what they were doing. we're going to defend the american worker. look what's happened right here. they forgot about the american worker. they forgot that it was the american worker who truly built

our country. we are not going to forget, believe me.

mike pence are on their thank you tour. and vice president elect joins us now. should i call you governor? vice president elect? >> just call me mike. a lot of excitement here. the president-elect and i are just here to say thanks to the people of ohio, kentucky, indiana and across america forgiving us an opportunity to serve. >> you told me a big part of the speech is thank you forgiving us a chance, too. explain that. >> i can say to people tonight, thanks to you, we're going to have a president who will unleash the boundless potential of the american economy by cutting taxes and rolling back regulations. we have a president-elect who is already saving jobs in america. we just had a rally earlier today in indianapolis. because of president-elect donald trump, 1100 people are going to have jobs in a factory that was going to close and move

to mexico. my message is to make sure the president-elect and i are working every single day to build a team, layout and agenda to make america great again and keep promises that he made. it will be thanks to them. >> that is not insignificant. otherwi otherwise, would it have been 1100 families going into christmas, not knowing their future, worried about their mortgages, cars and kids going to college. it's a big deal. i was interested the ceo said they're investing $16 million in the plant there and $35 million in the state? >> it was remarkable to watch the president-elect exercise leadership in this case. indiana is a prosperous state. we have job announcements all the time in spite of what is coming out of washington, d.c. we've been holding our own. in february, we learned a that had been around since the 1950s that was going to close its factories and moves all of the

jobs to mexico. when i knocked on the door and said is there something we can do? they said it's a made decision. but a week after the election, president-elect called the chairman of the parent company and said look we're going to cut taxes and roll back regulation and have trade deals to put the american worker and jobs first. we'd like you to rethink this. they said, we will, and we started those conversations but i think what people see in that effort, in president-elect donald trump is a man who keeps his word. a man of action. and a man who is not going to rest until we get this economy moving again for every american. >> do you know what president obama said about this? i was playing it today. what is donald trump going to do? wave his magic wand? >> i said no. he's going to pick up the phone. >> make a call. right? >> were you there? >> i'm interested. >> you were there. >> when he did it. >> yes.

he picked up and spoke, really. one american to another. he just said i'm just calling to tell you we're going to do exactly what we said we're going to do. we're going to roll back the avalanche of regulations. back in march, the leadership carrier told me what is driving them out of the country is an avalanche of red tape out of washington, d.c. and what the president-elect told the leader of the company is we're going to do what the american people elected us to do. and he asked them very graciously, in his own way, to, if they'd reconsider that. and i got to tell you how inspiring it was for me. >> and your whole state. which has been doing well, as you pointed out. but 1950s is a long time. >> it was inspiring for me to see the way that our president-elect just leaned into that effort, kept his word. made a difference in the lives of 1100 people.

>> some call him blue collar billionaire. >> it's funny. i went out earlier before i got here in the crowd. and this issue of carrier came up. what is the most-important thing? the most-important thing? i kept asking he's going to keep his promises. he said this is one of them. you think about it. the agenda, when you break it down, you said you saw it the night before the election. >> you did. >> supreme court justices, originalists. >> right. >> repatriation, building the wall, energy independence. what am i missing. >> there is a little bit more in military. rebuilding military, supporting law enforcement at every level with resources and tools they need to restore law and order to the communities and the list goes on. very to tell you in addition to being vice president elect, i have been asked to chair the

transition. and to see the caliber of men and women around this country who he is drawing to this effort, the cabinet appointments made so far, more appointments next week, stay tuned. >> they're not going to give us a sneak preview. >> i just have to tell you it's been exciting to see the energy, the vision, and the leadership that donald trump talked about on the campaign now being implemented by president-elect donald trump. >> he included you a lot. he told me the other night. this is what i think this what people want to know. the promises that he made are going to be kept. i think this is where americans, and i speak as a conservative, they lost me a little bit. they promised to repair and replace obamacare. put the teeth into it. or stop executive un-constitutional amnesty. give us the snaft. you got the senate. they didn't do it. things like that, be i think annoyed a lot of people. it's important to keep you working. >> it is important to keep your

word. and president-elect donald trump is a man of his word. i will tell you. he's dispatched me to capitol hill. we went there together a couple weeks back, already sitting down with the leadership and house and senate and laying out a plan not just for first 100 days but first 200 days. and you know, you've known him longer than i have. this man is a very embodiment of optimism and energy, and creativity. he's going to bring that to capitol hill and they're going to drive that agenda forward. we're going to make america great again. >> how did it go yesterday? i know you're there yesterday speaking to leaders. how were those meetings? >> great discussions and brought our teams together. met with the speaker. met with leader mcconnell in the senate. and you know our effort is to be ready, literally on day one, to be able to walk our new president into the oval office to take action on day one. on a number of executive orders so that the obama administration

put into affect the literally in that very moment, to initiate efforts to repeal and replace obamacare, to end illegal immigration once and for all. to get this economy moving again. >> so less taxes, less regulation. it's exactly the agenda he ran on. and i keep telling members of congress, buckle up. it's going to be a busy year. >> that is a big agenda. now, i would say it's a prescription for conservative solutions i wanted for a long time. how has your life changed? i understand you don't fly on the same plane anymore. >> true. >> for the most part. >> that is right. that is part of the new changes but -- >> to the extent you can share it. >> many ways it hasn't. this was a 24-7 campaign for us before. my family and i poured our hearts and souls into this. as you said there wasn't any vacation after election day. first thing in the morning after

the election we're all rolling our sleeves up, standing by our president-elect, and helping to build a government that can begin to implement that trump agenda that they want and frankly, the energy, the enthusiasm, the optimism that just eminates out of our president is contagious and i think is going to carry us through january 20th and to a greaterm. >> is the iranian deal done? will that be eliminated? i think it was a horrible deal. a lot of the money has been transferred. >> right. >> i don't believe that any place any time inspections will ever take place. and i don't trust the iranians and while that deal is being negotiated they're chanting "death to america". burning the american flag and israeli flag. >> idea of transferring $150 billion and $2 billion in it was

a bad deal and we've begun internal discussions. and it begins by recognizing how deeply flawed the iran deal is and laying before him all of the best options putting the interest of the united states and the interest of our most-cherished ally. >> do you know of any countries like iran, china, russia? have they reached out? or you can't say? >> no. i can say. the leadership in china, and russia have reached out. from my part, i have spoken to foreign ministers and some heads of state around the country. from the day after the election, leaders from around the world were reaching out to our president-elect. i do believe that people aconsiders the globe leader as cross the glob recognized the

kind of leadership that president-elect donald trump is going to bring to the white house. they've been reaching out with graciousness and engaging directly with him, and he's go been engaging with them with the kind of considerate straight talk i know will always characterize the way he deals with the world. >> will we repair our somewhat broken relationship with israel? i've known prime minister netanyahu many years. >> if the world knows nothing else, it will know that america, under a president donald trump stands with israel. he's had great discussions, as i've had the privilege of having with prime minister netanyahu since the election. we're going to continue to build that relationship. >> can we glean anything from the time you spent at trump tower in new jersey, and capitol hill, that the role of the vice president in this administration

is going to be a pretty active and busy one? >> well, i'm leaving that to the one person who will define it. >> the guy sending you around all the time? >> my family and i are here to serve. i'm a small town guy from southern indiana not too far from where we're standing now. the very idea of having a chance to stand next to our president-elect at such a momentous time in the life of our nation is very humbling for me. and i'm just prepared to serve in any way that i can help him move that agenda that we both know will make america great again. >> mr. vice president-elect, thanks for joining us. >> we've got to take a break, we'll come back and reinc reince pribus, when we return, straight ahead. >> you hear about how we're becoming a globalized world. but the relationships people in

their thank you tour. we're heading out to the crowd to talk to a lot of people why they in ohio voted for donald trump and mike pence. but first hey's the former chair of the rnc, now the chief of sth staff. i don't know if you went from the frying pan into the fire. good to see you. these are two of the hardest jobs you have because if donald trump doesn't have, people are going to come down you. if thing don't go well in the white house, they're going to come down on you. you had a balancing act all year with the never trumpers. not an easy year in your life, right? >> no. i started to figure out how to be a decent rnc chairman. i figured it out. but now it's a different challenge but it's a great one, an honor. an honor that president-elect trump asked me to do this. he's going to be a great president. you look at the choices he's making i can tell you his view of enormity of the job and the

way he wants to build this country for the american people, no matter what you are, what party, background, ethnicity, anything. his attitude right now is something to behold and i'm so grateful for it. >> help the audience be a fly on the wall. you were at the dinner for example. i would have loved to have been there. i thought mitt romney would have been a great president but i was so disappointed about the things he said about donald trump. you were at the dinner. the only one at the dinner with the two. what was it like? what happened? >> they talked about sports. they both love tom brady. being a packer fan. >> did they address the -- >> of course. it's like the global affair. >> no. did they address the things romney said? >> we talked a little bit about that. >> how did that go over? >> we talked about it. look, they didn't know each other. they did hit each other pretty hard. >> a fraud, racist.

those are hard words. >> sometimes, all of us, i try not to be this way but sometimes you can judge people without knowing them, without getting how they tick or what they're thinking. i think there was some of that. but i would tell you that it was genuine, heartfelt. they really got along. and at some point -- and i would just say this. president-elect trump is extremely funny. when he can get on a role -- >> he was on a role that night? >> he's an incredible story teller and he's very funny. and he had mitt romney through tears in one of the runs that he had. they got along, they talked about serious things, talked about not serious things. it was a good night. it's good to have and build relationships. >> whether he gleets selected. >> right. >> i had a few days off over thanksgiving. i was out and about a lot and i met a lot of people. people say two things to me right out of the box. please tell him don't pick mitt

romney and the second thing they say is tell him don't let her off the hook. all of those people were chanting and even earlier today out here in cincinnati lock her up and drain the swamp. that's up to the justice department and the law enforcement and attorney general. >> i think what the president-elect was trying to say is he's not going into this office with the mind-set of i'm going to find a way to persecute secretary clinton. that's definitely not where his head and heart is at. if indeed there's evidence that's presented that goes to attorney general jeff sessions and gets presented, it's going to be his call. but if it needs to be dealt with, the president is going to support. as far as the whole where are you at on mitt romney, my job is to clear out all of the junk from everyone cominghim an opportunity to make the decision

that's best for this country. it's not to overexert my opinion on anything. i think he's got great choices. the mayor is a wonderful man, david petraeus, governor romney. but that's his decision. but providing, you know, the opportunity for him to make a clear decision is part of being the chief of staff. >> general petraeus, how did that go? >> it went well. he's a very very smart person that really understands every -- i mean he'll tell you what river in syria and then this mountain over here. it's an unbelievable mind that he has. and you know, someone like that, you need to listen to and talk to. >> are you prepared to like never sleep? from the times i most often got to talk to donald trump the candidate was at midnight. >> well i'm the same way. he and i are the same way. as long as i get a few hours of sleep i'm good to go. i do like the feel that i slept,

even if it's for a few hours. i can keep going. this is important stuff. i've got a great family, good kids. >> you're all in washington. >> yeah. a little tougher now because most of the transition is in new york. eventually things are going to move back down. >> pretty quickly. >> it will be normalized. >> i think the most important thing, and i think where the biggest disappointment with the republicans, people are telling me the promises aren't being kept. donald trump has laid out a very firm agenda to get that passed. he doesn't have 60 votes in the senate. but harry reid set a precedent. is that something republicans in your opinion should consider following up on? >> they're going to use the -- except for the supreme court we can get the cabinet through ain 50 votes. i would suspect that's going to happen smoothly. i think that we've got a

president with a mandate. electoral landslide across the country. one of the most historic political wins in maybe the entirety of the united states history of politics. but certainly for the last 100 years we've never seen a donald trump phenomenon sweep the country. the people in congress understand it. the members of our own party should understand it. the meetings with had with speaker ryan were incredibly smooth. no offense with senators, but things are naturally easier to get through the house. we have a speaker in leadership that they want to work with us, what do you want. senate is tougher because of their rules. but i would suspect that we've got a president-elect that's going to call people out if they don't want to get on board. >> going directly to the american people. >> people may wake up to a couple of tweets in the morning and not like it. >> he's not going to stop tweeting. >> business as usual. >> being the rnc chair in a year

where there was a lot of division and 17 people wanted the job and threading the needle of the people that wouldn't keep their promises and then running -- >> quite a fiasco at times. >> i talked to you throughout the process. i tried to cheer you up a lit e little. >> i was good. i love the job. >> this is a tough one too. >> when i first started at the rnc, it was 24/7 after a few months you started getting the hang of it. but i think people see we're moving lightning pace. we're doing well. >> thank you. >> thank you, sir. >> he's now the official chief of staff for the president-elect donald trump. thank you so much, reince p priebus for pg here. we're in cincinnati on the thank you tore. we're going to go out and talk to the crowd. what motivated them to go out and vote this year and we're check in with the most popular radio figure in the whole city of cincinnati, bill cunningham,
