first." we begin this story a situation inside of a florida bank. the suspected gunman with 13 people behind bars surrendering they put themselves twaen the gun and the hostages frightened hostages texting their loved ones telling them the robber was armed. he put his gun to the back of people's heads but two hostages were able to hide without him knowing when they made a break for the exit it gave swat teams their chance to sweep right in. >> i rolled out the door. the police say, run. i couldn't run but i rolled again. >> luckily police were able to safely rescue all of the hostages. the gunman is now facing multiple charges. >> a potentially devastating middle school attack stopped by quick thinking parents of 15-year-old student stealing his family shot gun and hand gun.

his parents sensing something was off soon realized the guns were missing. they rushed to the school 11 miles north of salt lake acity. a teacher and student trying to talk the school down his father running in and tackling him allowing his mother to disarm him. >> his parents and teacher held him until police arrived. the teen is facing several charges. >> the story we have been covering closely unravel ago motive behind a bizarre story. she was found chained with a bag over her head three weeks after being missing. >> former dc homicide detective rod wheeler. thank you for joining us this morning.

this is a bizarre case for man nae different reasons. number one, she was found alive three weeks later and the description of the people she said kidnapped her. it was two hispanic women. one is a younger women the other suspect older woman straight black hair with thick eyebrows. it is unusual for them to be women and unusual for her to be found alive. >> it is kind of unusual. you can't really rule anything out at this point, heather. what the investigators are doing right now is you are trying to gather as much evidence as you can. they did recover her cell phone and her ear buds hoping there was some dna evidence or fingerprints on the cell phone. you talk about the plastic bag that was over her head. just so you know plastic actually retains fingerprints

pretty good. if they can get to that plastic bag and they have already taken it they can get either dna or fingerprints off of that. in addition to that were there any cameras in the area where she was found. maybe they can get video footage of her being let out of the car or something like that. there may be evidence out there that you never heard about. the biggest piece of ed is branding or burning some kind of major symbol on her body. he we maintain the fbi maintains a huge data base of symbols and images and we can quickly determine what the meading may be behind it. >> there may be one or two reasons why they are not sharing that. they may want to hold it so they identify suspects or persons of interest. if is th if that person leads to believe that they can use that against

the person in a courtroom. we don't want any copy cats or somebody to come forward acting like they know more about the case than they do. >> they gave a lot of details about what police did to his wife. this complicates the investigation. any question marks in your mind as you watch the interview? >> there are question marks. as an investigator there are always question marks about victims, about witnesses. when people cock forward and they have so many details about what happened you always say to yourself why does this person know so much. he went on 2020 and good morning america he was giving away the case, the evidence. he should not have done that. the police had no clue this guy was going to be giving interviews to this television station. >> you would think they would all be connected.
