fought for that right for you to burn that flag. it's very offensive. i'm not muslim. but i would never burn the can you r-- karan. >> most of the people burning the flag don't remember that. remember after 9/11, they were all proud of the usa. i don't understand why it has to come to a tragic event to bring us all together. as far as like institutions, like the colleges and things like that, if they don't want to fly the flag, they should not receive any federal or state funding. it shouldn't happen. if you don't like this country, you shouldn't get anything. >> you're talking about consequences for actions and our president-elect made a mention about flag burning. i'm going to play what he had to say and get you to react to it. >> do you agree with my stance

that if people burn the american flag, there should be consequences? >> you know, his slogan has been america first. i love your shirt you're wearing that says the same thing. his perspective is you're all in for america and there should be -- there should be no split allegiances. >> i'm a strong defender of the constitution. i don't think we can really say that there's consequences for an individual burning a flag. there's nothing we can do about that. i mean, i would be going against everything that the constitution represents if i said that. do i feel that way? does it anger me? yes. but i would be a hypocrite if i said, okay, if you burn that flag, then you're going go to jail or a fine. it would be against everything i believe in. >> you're basically saying just because you have the right doesn't make doing it right. what does it say about these

protesters that they're deciding to burn the very symbol, what does it say about citizenship, about how we view our own country when the form of protest is to burn the very thing that men like you and many others have served to defend? >> it's disrespectful. if you burn that flag, then how are you going to ask for any benefits in this country? you still want social security when you're 60 or what whatever? you want free medical care but you burn the flag? you don't deserve any of those things. you don't deserve nothing from this country if you don't love it. what you're doing is making us a laughing stock for other countries. russia, north korea, china. al qaeda. they don't have to come and attack us anymore because we're attacking each other and making all americans look like idiots. >> that's right. try burning a flag in north korea as well. >> that's right. >> thank you very much for your service and for speaking truth this morning.

live in this way where he's got this other opinion where we're not a media site. yeah, we reach 1.79 billion people but we're not a media site. of course, you are. he doesn't want to start putting the labels on these comments on facebook. but if you don't think it's actually swaying public opinion, you got another think coming. >> if you see that red line. >> it's a downloaded app. it's a plug-in to a chrome browser. if you use google chrome, it's called b.s. detecter. who is telling us in that whether it is fake news or not? and in fact, when testing that, it failed to -- it actually flagged a story as fake when indeed it was a true story. >> it doesn't mean that it's actually fake or does it mean this is suspect, we're not sure? >> again, this is a gray area. >> here's the end of all of this. at the end of the kay it's --

harvard school of government invites the campaign team for the winning campaigns. they also invite the primary candidate campaigns which was really fascinating this year to watch the republican aspireants. the fireworks yesterday really were grounded in the fact that members of the clinton campaign were accusing -- still accusing of things because they are still running the permanent campaign, i suppose, that just isn't true. the idea that we give a platform to certain people in this campaign. the idea that it's james comey's fault why she lost. i was making the point to them it's time for them to do what president obama and secretary clinton has done which is respect the election results. not talk about a rigged system or the popular vote. we won fairly and squarely by mr. trump getting 306 electoral

the crowd went crazy for him and he got out there and he didn't tell any of the media that he was going to announce this. he gets out on stage and he announces that general mattis is going to be the secretary of defense and he says don't tell anyone. he said my staff is going to be so mad at me for doing this. you all had no clue that he was going to do that and that was your reaction? >> we did not have a clue that he would do that at that moment, i didn't anyway. that's okay. i have an ongoing clue that he's a very unconventional president-elect and he's a master communicator and master connecter with people, ainsley, so he felt a moment was right. he had already obviously offered the position. it was accepted to general mattis. it's such a great pick to have a general at the department of defense, at the pentagon at a time when voters are saying to donald trump make good on this mandate that we've given you, that we've got strength through -- we've got peace through strength around the world. america first. it's a fabulous pick and this is

the way donald trump communicates with people. he doesn't need to have a press release and press conference, he doesn't need to stand there with general mattis necessarily. that will all come in due time. he did it the way he ooubl does. his way, his timeline. >> in the interview he did with ainsley yesterday, he said by the end of the next week we'll have most of the names. the main horse race is secretary of state and a couple of nights ago here in midtown manhattan, donald trump sat down with ri s reince priebus and had dinner with mitt romney. you weighed in on the mitt romney choice this past weekend. do you feel still feel the way? >> this is donald trump's decision to make. everyone knows all of that. all of us will respect and

support enthusiastically what decision he makes. i was trying to reflect the grassroots. i said it before, they just feel that mitt romney was very disloyal to donald trump. very specific and scathing in his criticisms during the primary, and also there are other people who are very qualified that have been interviewed for this position. we publicly have said there are probably four people right now that have been the narrowed down choices, includes general petraeus and senator bob corker from tennessee. obviously governor romney is still in the mix. obviously, rudy giuliani. it can't be rushed because some in the media who think he should be forming a cabinet at that house. it's an important decision. the other thing the president-elect will do is take the counsel of the people who are already on his national security team to help guide this decision but ultimately it's his decision and we all know that. >> he said a lout more noux will

come next week. where did the idea to come from to say hey we're going to project back on to the people a thank you? obviously the president-elect thrives in that environment and what does it say about the type of president that he will be? >> it's a great question, pete. the answer is the idea was his and he oversees all of those details in that he knows he's not on the campaign trail anymore. these are no the traditional campaign rallies where you are asking people to vote for you, you are going through your ten-point plan. really it is to go back and thank people. as president, you are going to see him actively engaging with the american people where they live. some presidents don't like to get out of washington, d.c. much to do that. i was struck by a couple of articles when president obama was on the trail for secretary clinton, an article would say he hasn't been in the state since 2012. wow, how can that be? that's not going to happen with president trump. he wants to go where the people are and as you can see people

love seeing their president in their midst, showing up and doing things. he's going to go back to some of those states that put him over the top. people are really excited about it. he gets oxygen from the people. he famously enjoys, you know, the company of everyday workers and the forgotten man and woman, he gave such voice to in his campaign. that tells you how his administration will run as well. >> you believe him. and steve had an interview with a guy from carrier. i got a little tickled because everybody gave me grief for supporting trump and now they are all trump, trump, trump. >> this is about bringing americans together and getting results. next week you'll perhaps see more of the cabinet take form and the president-elect and vice president-elect will continue to do what they have been doing

campaign were accusing -- still accusing of things because they are still running the permanent campaign i suppose that just aren't true. the idea that we give a platform to certain people in the campaign, the idea that it's james comey's fault that's hillary clinton has been in politics for decades. we won fairly and squarely and that road ran through some pretty blue states like michigan, pennsylvania, and wisconsin. i understand that they are angry. i understand some of them are bitter, but they made it very personal last night. >> it was very personal. >> it was very personal, and that's the difference. what you are seeing is the democrats who have never been able to tolerate republicans and what it is that we believe in, like the constitution, and if they think that our candidate won for reasons that have to do with jobs, the economy, and the

fundamental freedoms that the constitution requires then they can't deal with that, therefore we have to be evil, we have to be hateful people, we have to be racist. that is their narrative. >> what does that say about the future of the democratic party? >> they are really on a down turn and the point is with keith ellison, nancy pelosi, they don't have a future and all you have to do is watch donald trump last night to know that america is going to love this man, and he said it. i will be presidential. i will bring america back. i will bring back hope. jobs. we're qog to be -- going to be proud. the military is going to be strong again. cops are going to be protected in the sense that they will have what they need to fight crime. >> he's going to make america great again. we watched him last night and we watch you this week. >> you are. and what we're going to talk about is what's going on in the electorate. we've got a lot of great guests,

i'm very happy. the country is going to be -- you know, it's all about making america great again. that was the theme. we had a big day yesterday, as you know, with what we did with carrier. 1,100 jobs, 1,100 jobs are staying in this country and not mexico. we're very happy. >> what was your response to president obama and his staff saying yeah, that was great, and we've done better? >> look, that's what they will say. it's politics. it's okay. he's been very gracious. he's been very nice. we've had a couple of great calls and meetings, and i very much respect his attitude. he's been very nice. >> mitt romney, if you do pick him, what can you say to the american people? >> he's been very gracious. don't forget i hit mitt pretty hard also before the fact, i understand how it all works, but he's been very, very nice. we had dinner the other night. it was great. it was actually a good chemistry. it was a good chemistry with him

and with president obama. there was -- we were supposed to sit down for ten minutes, we ended up an hour and a half keeping everybody waiting. we had a great talk and so i don't know. we'll see what happens. we're going to pick our secretary of state. we have some other announcements coming literally very soon and people are loving our choices so far. we're going to have an amazing cabinet. >> no more announcements this week you said. what about next week? >> next week being bigly. we have some that we have next week bigly. we have some tremendous people, tremendous people that are coming on. we're getting credit for having wonderfully great cabinets ever picked. people of great distinction and success which is what you need. you can't have people who didn't know how to get there. and we have tremendous people joining the cabinet and beyond the cabinet. so you'll be seeing almost all of them next week. >> the thank you america tour. why is that important to you? >> well, we're in ohio, and it's thank you ohio, and it's thank you iowa, thank you north

carolina, thank you pennsylvania, florida. we have quite a few. wisconsin has been so great. michigan has been so great. you know, we won states ainsley that nobody has won for 38 years and in a couple of cases more than that in terms of the republicans. as you know, they talked about the great blue wall in the rust belt, right. well, the great blue wall was really busted up pretty badly, and so we're doing a thank you run just to thank some of the states that we weren't supposed to win and we won really in a landslide in some cases. florida was task. remember we were supposed to lose florida. we have breaking news, donald trump wins florida. trump wins north carolina. pennsylvania. >> ohio. >> tonight we're in ohio and we have a wonderful group of people who have been supporters from the beginning and we won ohio by almost 10 points which is unheard of it. it's unheard of for a republican to win by 10 points. we won iowa by more than 10

points. we've had some great victories. i said we should go back and just say a quick thank you and that's what we're doing. >> day one, what are you going to do? the wall, obamacare, repeal? >> we could do the wall. we're going to do some repealing, we're going to do some executive orders that we think are inappropriate. we're going to be working very hard and i got a kick, i didn't think of it, but saving carrier and all those jobs before i become president makes me, i guess, maybe even a little bit more happy, but if you would have seen the people of indiana today, 1,100 people are going to have a great christmas, that i can tell you. >> and he's right about that. so right after that he went out on stage and he addressed the many people there at the arena. rallies are expected in pennsylvania, in florida, north carolina, michigan, state of iowa as well. and i would imagine, though, they will all be like that. filled to the capacity, to the rafters with people who love his message and that's one of reasons why going up to the election he thought the polls

were wrong because he looked out, you know, hillary clinton winding up with 200 people at an event and i've got 25,000 people right here. how could i go wrong? >> you were there with him. what was your take away? >> i thought he founded -- sounded very presidential. he seemed much more presidential because he said i was -- i was asking about what do you think about the obama administration, what they are saying, and he was very complimentary of president obama which maybe ten months ago that wouldn't have been the case. >> same thing with hillary clinton. a couple of times during the speech and said normally this is where i say who is to blame for this. >> he did say i lot of bad things about mitt romney too. maybe he's telling us they are going to work together. >> the internet locked in a very serious debate. very serious. how would a giraffe wear a neck tie. >> i have a strong opinion. >> this morning, we're going

tie at the top or the bottom of their necks? asking for a friend. it's time to get to the bottom. >> wait a minute, giraffes go to work? they do at the dallas zoo. we have the vice president of guest relations with sean green with a giraffe. we called you up yesterday because this is lighting up the internet. where would the giraffe wear their neck tie? up high or down low? >> it's an interesting question. in my 25 years of working with zoos, i never thought there would be a day where i would be answering that question. that is a 15-foot giraffe behind me, tobogo. we did a poll. if you want it anatomically correct according to humans, it would be at the bottom according to their shoulders. to give you an example, look at this one right here, we
