10:09 pm
>> sean: they didn't rule out terrorism. 5 killed and 8 injured. our thoughts and prayers go out to all of them. my opening monologue on the russian hacking is coming up. first jennifer griffin in d.c. what do you have? >> federal law enforcement agents said he had cooperated. the alleged shooter cooperated and they had conducted a long interview with him today. law enforcement sources who i spoke to tell me that private first-class esteban santiago ruiz was investigated a few times for various infractions by various law enforcement agencies. at least twice by army criminal investigative division and the fbi. santiago visited the fbi's anchorage field office in
10:10 pm
november, and he told agents that u.s. intelligence were forcing him to watch isis propaganda videos. he appeared agitated and incoherrent during that video. indicating he was suffering from some kind of mental condition. he mentioned a deployment to iraq. santiago deployed to iraq from april 2010 to february 2011 with the puerto rico national guard. we confirm that with the army. after returning, he joined the army reserves and the alaska national guard. last august he was discharged for poor performance. in november as the fbi mentioned they called local authority hostook him to a local hospital for a mental health welfare check. the fbi opened an investigation, interviewed family members of santiago, conducted database
10:11 pm
checks and reviews. the fbi found no connections to any foreign terrorist organization. investigators are scouring santiago's electronic devices and digital history for any recent communications with known individuals. we expect to learn a lot more about these multiple investigations in the coming days. >> sean: thank you very much. joining us now with reaction to this disturbing story the author of this important new book called "iwar," war and peace in the information age. bill is with us and sebastian gorka. when you hear issues of mental health and was went into the fbi, was there follow of up in a case like if somebody is obviously that disturbed? >> absolutely.
10:12 pm
this is the first question, sean. it's clear from the report that fox provided that this is an individual who repeatedly had issues with the military or local or follow law enforcement. -- or federal law enforcement. this was not a completely normal citizen and cracked and got violent. also i would like to add one thing. there are already images on the internet of this man wearing a middle eastern type scarf and making the classic jihadi hand signal. the raised one finger which is symbolic of unit in all of the isis videos. the man responsible for boston bombing posted pictures of him on the internet making the same
10:13 pm
symbol. islam rejects the trinity. there are signs that this man had issues and had problems. he was a potential threat. on top of that, there could a jihadi angle as well. >> sean: scary. just to switch topics. bill, every department including the white house and nasa, the irs, everything has been hacked. this has gone for all of the years obama was in office. wikileaks has been around 10 years and the politicians have done nothing. who are we to blame? i have the report in front of me. i read it and i read it, it's embarrassing because they know the methods. we assess it based on past
10:14 pm
behavior. why haven't they done more to stop this? >> absolutely. nothing has been done. we are faced with an information warfare assault. this latest report from the intelligence community confirms. this was not about politics. this was about undermining the democratic system in the united states. it was a russian led intelligence operation involving cyber leaks and led and direct by vladimir putin who views the united states as the main enemy of russia. >> sean: i wish we had more time. this is topic a in everybody's mind. what is the conclusion you come to? this is what the whole book is about? >> the conclusion is we are facing an information war and we are being disarmed in this battle. we need to develop new methods, new institutions, new
10:15 pm
capabilities. we need clear thinking and clear strategy and we need to counter attack. we need to go on the offensive against enemy states. >> sean: doctor, i assume you agree and the fact we have not done it tells you what? >> look, sean, i want to make it very clear to the viewers out there. there is not about cyber hacking. bill is an old friend and he is absolutely right. this is influence operations. this is political warfare. vladimir putin is laughing we have been unprotected. he is accused the american electoral system of being corruptible when nothing happened in terms of stealing the election. but the fact that the russian
10:16 pm
television statement is mentioned in this report tells you everything you want to know. >> sean: isn't there duplicity on the part of president obama, the president even used state department funds to fund an effort inside of israeli with his own political operatives to defeat prime minister benjamin. our own president did it. >> definitely. i covered the obama administration since the earliest days. in the early part of the obama administration when they were doing the so-called russia reset. intelligence agency and law enforcement agencies were prohibited from saying anything critical about russia or putin. that went on for years and years. one of the things that came out in the intelligence report earlier was that this had been going on for more than 10 years and nothing has been done about it. hopefully we will get some
10:17 pm
action now and take some steps to counter act these lies. >> sean: the reality, doctor, we have assume russia and china and iran and north korea, friend and adversaries are all hacking us. we are probably hacking them. if we are not, we are making a big mistake. >> on the double standard issue. if the left didn't have double standards, they would not have? i standard at all. the reality is, who is surprised? can somebody wake up and smell the coffee grinds. russia is attacking us every day in all forms. economic, cyber or psychological operations. china is eating our lunch in the cyber domain. bill knows this better than anybody. it's time to talk about the reality and hopefully january 20th is when the adults get back
10:18 pm
in control. it won't be double standards or fantasy land anymore. >> sean: thanks to you both for your insight. two big stories we are following and the obama administration did release its intelligence report on election hacking and president-elect donald trump is calling out the charade for what it is: a political witch hunt. that's tonight's opening monologue. the office of the director of national intelligence released a declassed version on election hacking and russian intentions. it concludes that vladimir putin ordered an effort to damage hillary clinton to influence the election. this is key. the report found no evidence that actual votes were tampered with. president-elect trump was briefed on the classified version of the report and put
10:19 pm
out a statement saying his meeting with intel officials was constructive and added there was no contest effect on the outcome of the election including the fact that there was no tampering whatsoever with the voting machines. the president-elect is also saying tonight that unlike president obama, he will do something to fix this problem by appointing a team to come up with a plan to fight and to top future cyber attacks. vice-president elect mike pence elaborated on this plan. >> the president-elect made it clear we will take aggressive action in the early days of our new administration to combat cyber attacks and protect the american people in the future. >> sean: earlier today, president-elect trump called out democrats for trying to
10:20 pm
undermine his presidency. he said china hacked over 20 million government names. how come nobody talks about that? this is a political witch hunt. he is highlighting how for 8 years president obama ignored cyber security threats. quote: president-elect trump is absolutely right. we told you about this last night. the president and the democrats have been asleep at the wheel on cyber security. look at the countless major cyber security attacks that happened since 2009 when obama became president. this is much more. the democrats are pumping up this intel report as the smoking gun that proves russian interference in this election was a big reason why donald trump won. what the left and the corrupt alt-left liberal media won't
10:21 pm
tell you, it contains evidence that russian tried to meddle in u.s. elections going back to 2008. russian hackers targeted the white house. the state department and american companies. why all of a sudden out of nowhere, this has been going through the ebb obama presidency, why is hacking the issue. the only reason president obama cares about cyber security is because they need an excuse to explain why hillary clinton lost. the sore losers can whine all they want. they with only blame themselves if their gross negligence on cyber security for this election hacking. john podesta the reason his emails were accessed were because of a typo in a reply
10:22 pm
from a staffer about a fishing e-mail. that podesta received. the wikileaks founder julian assange told me that security from podesta's emails was so inadequate that a 14-year-old could hack into it. and hillary clinton her private email server. it was scored in a mom and pop both room closet. does that sound secure? of course not. the fbi is 99% that up to 5 foreign intelligence agencies accessed hillary clinton's emails. the dnc. after the political party was hacked, they didn't give the fbi direct access to its server and data. the fbi had to rely on a 3rd party. the "new york times" reported that when the fbi first called the dnc staffer to alert them,
10:23 pm
they thought this was a prank call. they did nothing. when the fbi kept calling, the dnc continued to fail to act and address the problem. so did the democrats who are feigning moral outrage here. if you would have just done your job and fixed the hacking problem back in 2008 and 2009 right in front of your face for years, this never would have happened. with reaction former new york city maria sharapova rudy giuliani. -- mayor rudy giuliani. you deal with this issue on a daily basis. this is a real clear and present danger that we have ignored for over 10 years. am i wrong? >> you're absolutely right. i don't feel like i told you so. 13 years ago, i began warning about hacking with my law firm and my technology and partners
10:24 pm
black berry. i have been involved for many years trying to warn corporate officials, individuals, government agencies about the hacking that has been going on. the reality is you need both technological software solutions like black berry provides and legal solutions. we have not paid attention to it. i have been blue in the face giving speeches over there. must have given 300 speeches over how american corporations and the american government is not paying attention to the hacking going on, not just by russia, china or north korea. by our friend and also for commercial purpose. all for ransom. there have been hospitals that have been hacked and had to pay money so the whole hospital was
10:25 pm
not turned down. the amount of hacking that goes on is incredible. it's the fastest growing form of crime. if we need anything else to wake us up, the danger to our grid is there. >> sean: it's interesting you say that. >> the head of homeland security would tell you. >> sean: since obama's been president, 2008 they tried to influence that election and obama tried to influence the israeli election so that makes him a hypocrite. we have the pentagon's program that was hacked. the u.s. postal service hacked. the white house has been hacked. the state department has been hacked. the department of defense has been hacked. the irs has been hacked. in 2014 the office of personal
10:26 pm
management, 22 million people had their personal information hacked and obama never said a word. didn't kick out any diplomats. no sanctions. what does that tell you? >> what that tells us is gross negligence on the part of the government with regard to a clear and present danger. we should have known about it going back to 2003, 2004. hacking now is enormous. i believe it's the head of the fbi that said that american corporations are in 2 categories: those that have been hacked and know about it and those that have been hacked and don't know about it yet. some of these hackings went on for a year or two or three years before they were caught. because the companies didn't bring in the software experts at
10:27 pm
a fast enough pace. >> sean: the reason they didn't care about the hacking, these emails of the dnc showeds a racism and anti-semitism. then we have clinton corruption expoeded and all of the money they made and they rigged the dnc process in favor of hillary over bernie. that seems to be what garnered their attention here. >> that's the point of this report. it's political. that report showed the election was not hacked. no vote was changed. if the russians did it, if they hacked information that was neutral and did not show some terrible acts. said some terrible things.
10:28 pm
suggested some terrible actions taken by people, there would be no problem here. it's their actions that caused whatever problem was caused. as far as we can tell. didn't have much of an impact on the vote. >> sean: yes. >> they got caught saying what they were actually saying. >> sean: it's interesting. there is a high level of confidence in certain intelligence agencies and moderatelyality the nsa. i have to break, mr. mayor. what you are warning here is so important. >> learn from this. i have been trying for 13 years. do something about hacking. american corporations don't do enough about it. >> sean: well said. mr. mayor you have been making this cry for years. thanks for warning us once again. we appreciate it. we have to assume that iran and north korea and china and
10:29 pm
vladimir putin and russia are our enemies. we have known they have been doing this decades. coming up more information to the russian hacking report. coming up next. >> vladimir putin did not tell hillary clinton to ignore michigan and wisconsin. >> more tonight on this busy friday news night. if you're taking prescription medications,
10:30 pm
does your mouth often feel dry? a dry mouth can cause cavities and bad breath. over 400 medications can cause a dry mouth. that's why there's biotene. biotene can provide soothing dry mouth relief. and it keeps your mouth refreshed too. remember while your medication is doing you good, a dry mouth isn't. biotene, for people who suffer from dry mouth symptoms.

>> sean: welcome back to "hannity," so despite the left trying to use the russian hacking >> sean: welcome back to hasn't hopped. -- to hannity. the facts tell a different truth. take a look. >> you have many people on tv trying to confuse the voters and their viewers by inflating any alleged russian hacking. you can't show the nexus. vladimir putin didn't tell hillary clinton to ignore michigan and wisconsin and pennsylvania. >> there are attempts of the left to delegitimize this election. that's bogus. he won. russian didn't put the server in hillary clinton's basement. he won the election fair and square, clearly and convincingly. >> sean: here is governor mike
10:33 pm
huckabee and talk show host larry elder. governor, i don't know if you are still in israel. our president tried to influence their election. >> i am waiting on the senate. sean, i am waiting on the senate to show how we involved ourselves as the u.s. government in the israeli election like they think something happened in russia. $350,000 tax dollars were sent to one voice for voter lists and databases to get rid of benjamin. then president obama people raised $20 billion to defeat benjamin. that's not allegations.
10:34 pm
that's not declassified. even a senate bipartisan committee had to accept. >> sean: and taxpayer dollars were used there. that's money from hard working americans that this president used to influence an election against our closest ally. >> right. we also found out that democratic operatives were sending agitators on interfere with donald trump rallies and sending people to states who could not vote there legally. a lot of things going that they are not concerned about. the bottom line is donald trump stopped them. they can't believe this vulgarian person with no experience. >> sean: he is watching will and get mad you called him a vulgarian. >> even mitt romney said that about the guy.
10:35 pm
they can't believe this man won. >> sean: [laughing] governor mike huckabee is laughing. governor, all of these instances i went over with former mayor rudy giuliani, this has been out there. this has been happening. we have not heard a peep. even worse they have done nothing to fix it. this is something that ought to be our top national security priority in my opinion. >> it should. i have dinner last night in israel. i am back in the states. with 2 israeli generals, 2 colonels and an agent. one of the generals was a major player in israeli cyber security. and said the united states didn't take this as seriously as they need to. it's one of the most important ways in which we will be fighting a war in the future. we have not made it a priority. it's high time we do.
10:36 pm
i hope donald trump will. >> sean: last word? >> regarding the content on the dnc emails and the contest of john podesta's emails. i remember candid camera. fox the creator said caught in the act of being themselves. putin didn't right those emails. they were call in the act of being themselves. >> sean: it was one of my favorite shows with the honeymooners and all in the family. that's another day. upnext today on hannity: >> the count of mexico will reimburse the united states for the cost of the wall. >> sean: he is lashing out for the media for trying to discourt his plan. bo dietl and geraldo rivera straight ahead. ok, let me explain.
