officials briefed the president elect on that document. cnn's reporter tried to ask a question in response, trump refuse today take it. cnn says it's reporting much different than buzzfeed. even the intelligence community is commenting, the director of national intelligence clapper says he spoke with the president elect on this and, quote, i emphasized that this document is not a u.s. intelligence community product and i do not believe the leaks came within the ic, the ic has not made any judgment that the information in this document is reliable and we did not rely upon it in anyway for our conclusions, however, part of our obligation to ensure that policymakers are provided with the fullest possible picture of any matters that might affect national security. the report had passed through washington channels for months, senator john mccain said he received the document late last year. he was unable to determine the

and so he's very comfortable, confident in what he knows about the threat. i thought it was okay. i thought mr. tillerson handled himself well. he understands that some of these words that senator rubio wanted him to use has very serious consequences for our chief dip plo-- diplomat. mr. tillerson has to be careful about what he says and labels he next secretary of the united states. >> we are going to move on now to general james mad dog mattis, that's the big one today. you expect this will be an easier day for him than tillerson and sessions saw? this is someone you personally know? >> i have met general mattis. he has a reputation that goes before him, as a killer, in

fact, he really is, mideast a marines marine, a trained war fighter, he's a gentleman, i have met him one of the kindest guy that is you'll meet. he will do very well today. he's going to have tough questions. the democrats are going to see if there's -- they are going to try to look and exploit the light between him and the president elect on russia and see what kind of tact he takes with the russians, they're going to want to see what his ideas are about actually combating isis and how that would be different than the obama administration and they are going to want to know his views on social issues in the military, the obama administration has really set out in this social agenda in the military and general mattis has been opposed to that. he wants to get the military actually to what it's meant to do, fighting wars and maintaining peace. there's going to be tom tough questions on that. >> paid it clear from the beginning, she will make tough for some of the picks to get through. bigger picture watching it play out this week, do you think most
