finger at continuing expansion of the settlement locked on the land and leaders who favor the deal as a failure of the international committee to get a peace agreement done between palestinians. many leaders feel that president-elect trump will exasperate the conflict and that is part of the warning that will come out today to president-elect trump with not abandoning the solution and don't give up on peace. israel will have a lot of talk recently that the two state solution is dead and president trump, when he takes office, will abandon the process. countries in europe and around the world are urging the israelis and palestinians not to do this. >> all right, connor. >> vice president mike pence appears on fox news sunday where he discussed strengthening ties with russia.

1:33 pm
let's start here. how do you rank the importance of us relations with russia and between the country to presidents? >> i think it would be nice to have good relations with russia just like it would be nice to have good relationships with iran and north korea. the reason why is because not of anything that we had done. they are ruled by anti-american dictatorship that threaten their neighbors invade their neighbors sometimes. it basically disrupts the world order that the united states has built and upheld. until the regime in russia changes and until it's a more democratic regime and government that respects its own people and neighbors and respects the rules of international affairs, i don't understand how the united states could have a good working relationship with russia. >>president-elect trump said he will try and if he does proceed with caution , where might the political booby-traps lay in
1:34 pm
wait? >> this happens with every president. he comes into office and they always think they can make relationships with russia better again. particularly with vladimir putin. george bush came in and said he looked in president putin's eyes and saw his soul and a couple years later, vladimir putin was invading georgia and they left on not speaking terms.president obama came in with the reset and it all fell apart. this is part of the pattern. i would warn that at thispoint , vladimir putin has been in office for 17 years and it's kind of clear what kind of a man he is and what kind of goals he has. in particular, it's the area where we have to remain strong because there has been a lot of russian aggression and intimidation. i worry about the region and the new in the next coming months and years. as you know, mr. putin has been on record with the favorable remarks regarding president-electtrump .

working with russia against isis, other fundamental items that first must beestablished , for example theleadership of syria's president ?>> i'll actually agree with congressman pompeo.he is mr. trumps nominee to be the head of the cia. they said russia is doing nothing against isis and syria. it's a mistake that there russia and us have similar objectives.they have been hitting the moderate oppositio . the rebels that we are supposedly supporting ãthey are not going after isis. we don't have anything in common in terms of goals and syria. president obama and us policy has opposed the presidents aside and get him to leave. he has been supported throughout the past several years by the russians and they
1:36 pm
are now or in the military and supporting aside. i don't know how we can cooperate with moscow and syria. >> as russia continues to forcefully expand the geopolitical foothold, can we expect vladimir putin totest president trump ? what form might that take? >> i think he would not test trump so early if he is smart. i think he is very concerned with image and appearing strong and a winner. he will be quite sensitive to any challenges. a vladimir putin is smart and we know he is a wild leader that knows what he's doing. i don't thank you will be so brazen as to invade a nato country in the first few months. i think it will be something crafty and subtle. there will be plausible deniability. i don't think itwill be a clear and decisive attack .
1:37 pm
>> arthel neville: something crafty and more subtle. it sounds sinister. you mentioned mr. trump and that mr. putin might not be brazen in the face but do you have any doubt that president trump will retain power over russia or any other country during his tenure as the 44th president of the united states question mark. >> what i'm worried about is that he has said nothing but positive things about vladimir putin over the last 18 months and i find it very strange. he is a kgb man and hates the united states. he has invaded his neighbors and hacked into the national democratic committee. he sat in the nato alliance, our allies, subverting democracy across the european continent and supporting
