inauguration day. finally here and just hours from now president donald trump will be sworn as america's 45th president. abby: next commander in chief arriving to a warm welcome as thousands of people pack the capitol. heather: good morning, you're watching "fox & friends first", i'm heather childers. abby: i'm abby huntsman. heather: peter doocy with the unprecedented security and protest expected but we begin with elizabeth, good morning. >> good morning, heather, after arriving in washington my afternoon president-elect trump began a packed day, went onto a lincoln memorial concert before attending a black-tie event near the capitol for political donors, the message on the campaign is still his message now. >> but that last month of the campaign, we knew that something

special was happening. i called it the forgotten men and forgotten women, well, you're not forgotten anymore. >> while, there was certainly a lot of celebration, there was emotional moments, you can see the president elect along with vice president mike pence attending a wreath ceremony. he reflected on serving those in indiana. >> take another oath, an oath of office to serve not just indiana but our entire nation, become vice president of the united states of america serving along side a new president who i know will make america great again. >> we also heard from the future first lady from the road ahead from not just her but country. there's quite a bit of

the the national mall on what we can expect today. peter, the call before the storm but looks active behind you. >> right, you mentioned there are going to be nearly 30,000 law enforcement agents and offers from different federal agencies and state that is are here as well as the national guard. as far down as you can see on constitution avenue which is completely blocked off, there are two sets of them right down where traffic would normally be. you see these buses, these are the buses that have been bringing people, law enforcement agents, peter, by the bus load, literally by the bus load. they are now all getting here. there's a little bit of delay, 45 minutes or so in the time that it took to start letting members of the press in while they did a big sweep of the national mall, again, there is their big event. something that happens every four years on the same day, there are concerns not oll about terrorists but also now about this disrupt j20 protest group

flared up last night a little bit. they brought smoke devices and clashed with the police after trump supporters were gathering to celebrate his inauguration. it was contained, though, every single secret service agent will be on duty today for the parade that's going to be happening on pennsylvania avenue and is being completely locked down right now. that happens after the swearing in. we have not -- we have not seen very many of the 90 million people that they are expecting to show up for the inauguration yet, but they are starting to trickle in and i tell you what, it is very cold right now, it is in the high 30's and it is supposed to rain sometime before the swearing in starts. it's not expected to happen necessarily right while the crowds are gathering, but it is going to happen before mr. trump takes the oath of office to become president trump. so that is something that authorities are keeping an eye on.

he made jokes regarding the weather. i outworked everybody. i outworked anybody that ever ran for office. they were saying, you cannot get to 270, they were right, we got to 306. tomorrow we have a speech. probably 2:00 o'clock, it may rape or may not rain, i don't care, it doesn't matter. the truth is if it really pours, that's okay because people will realize it's my real hair and that's okay. that he's done and it's almost as if he didn't realize that we had an election because it says e legitimate president. it's a terrible thing for a person of his caliber to say. >> could you imagine if 50 plus representatives boycotted president obama's, could you imagine what that backlash would have been? it's almost become acceptable and it's not acceptable. donald trump doesn't see black or white, donald trump sees red, white and blue. >> we are going to unify our country. >> there are have been a lot of presidents but there's nobody who has stepped up with him and said, mr. brown, let us do this for you. jim brown has a heart and his soul has been put into this program. mr. trump coming in, he's say to go jim brown, jim brown, i care about the community, i care about the efforts which you have put in and now it's time to make it pay off.

>> madison, flynn have had a series of meetings together. that's going to be together. when you see 500 marines going into norway, when you see major operations in lib yeah and you see we don't even know we are now invited to the peace talks with syria, the russians have invited us in, you wonder what he's going to prioritize. >> yeah, absolutely. there's a lot of things here that are arguably the most important thing but i think when we strip it all away and get down to the fundamentals of running the american government, what he really needs to do, first and foremost is make sure that everyone who is now working for him, that includes folks who have been working on the campaign, political appointees as well as the civil servant who is are in place at the white house and around across the departments and agencies know what his foreign policy agenda is and that's very clear-cut, these are the folks who are going to have to execute it for him. so he's going to have to make it

but business owners as well. >> absolutely, too much regulation. it may depend on where you work? >> absolutely. it depends if you're part of large group plan or smaller plan or the individual plan, a lot of people who have the big employer plans they don't necessarily see a lot of change in coverage with the aca basically because large corporations have always offered comprehensive health care to attract good employers. what we have seen with the smaller plans and individual plans is they have had all mandates on them which is causing small business owners to hire fewer people and make some of their full-time employees part time because they can't cover everybody. >> absolutely, regulation. ainsley: you're hoping with the new plan, repeal and replace there are more options? >> absolutely. we need comprehensive access, not necessarily comprehensive care. your 24-year-old healthy unfit doesn't need the same thing as a 60-year-old woman.
