mutual. so, they're not going to come but we're still going to build that wall. ainsley: sean hannity went to the white house yesterday. he sat down with the president. this is what the president said about building that wall. >> the wall is necessary. that's not just politics. yet it is good for the heart of the nation in a certain way because people want protection. and a wall protects. it's 99% stoppage. a proper wall. not a wall that's this high like they have now. they have little toy walls. i don't know why they even wasted their time. if you ever saw where they built the ramp over the wall. i don't know why they built a ramp. it's cheaper to knock it over. brian: there are some areas that aren't as sturdy as others. i don't know if you could characterize them as toy wall. steve: they are not like the trump wall. brian: 12 and $15 billion. president nieto of mexico.

we can tax imports. 160 countries do this and we don't do that. if we tax the imports coming in from mexico which is $5 billion of imports every year that will be 1 billion-dollar that the country will make. he said we'll pay for the wall in no time. steve: plenty of money. this is one of the things being considered. sounds like a tariff. this is something the republicans in congress have been talking about for the adjusted business tax on imports. the tax isn't to imports at a higher rate. it's to tax imports at the same rate as domestic products. ainsley: when he ran i was like how are they going to get mexico to do this. that sounds like a pipe dream. steve: they're going to get the money. brian brian problem mexicans coming over there they actually decreased the numbers. that might be true. it's the central americans and south americans going through mexico. they are allowing it. steve: that's a problem, too. brian: get to the border mexico says it's not my problem anymore. he said you stop it at your southern border and we won't

military back ground and goldman sachs guy. he has a wealth of experience. he and donald trump have been on the same day with this. and he was very aggressive yesterday. he says this. the media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while. the media here is the on silings party. they will don't understand this country. they still do not understand why donald trump is the president of the united states. and i think one of the most blatant examples and frustrations i would think is an administration that is meeting with ce ohs and union leaders at the same time trying to amp up the economy, get it over 2%, and do something that is very rarely done. reward the people that rewarded them with the victory. that's the blue collar worker. they do not write about that story. steve: here's the context. what he was saying and he told the "new york times," hey, make sure you print. this essentially what he is saying, you guys, members of the media do not understand the people who voted for donald trump. why people voted for donald trump.

breaking overnight, flames shooting out of the roof of a major hotel in florida. terrifying. can you see that smoke as it starts to billow out of the tampa, marriott water side hotel. 40sing all of the guests to evacuate that tower. rescue crews saying the fire was sparked during construction on the roof. they were able to put it out quickly. luckily, no one was hurt but certainly frightening. then a massive drug bust at the shriver family summer home in cape cod in massachusetts. take a look at some of this video enforcement investigators arresting three people for using the extended kennedy family mansion as a drug den. steve: what? heather: suspects gaining access to that home through property manager who helped look out after the place. they bought drugs and buried them on a beach nearby. how bizarre is that? police announcing that they seized more than $40,000 worth of fentanyl. it was found hidden around the home without the shriver family even knowing. brian: that's one of the main reasons i don't have a compound. i don't want people dealing

begin the border wall, border patrol chief mark morgan wound up resigning from his position. but did his appointment in the first place say more about president trump's feelings about the border than anything else? for more we turn to national association border patrol officers board member david ward who joins us today from seattle. david, good morning to you. >> good morning. steve: all right. as is customary, when there is an incoming administration you ask for everybody always puts their resignation on the boss' desk. he accepts some of them. he took this guys. you say this is a good thing for america because you didn't like this guy to start with. why? >> it's not so much that i didn't like the guy. in the 93-year history of the border patrol, this is the first individual who had absolutely no border patrol experience in any of the rank and file to make it to the position of the chief of the border patrol. he weighs fbi agent and i'm sure he was an expert with the fbi but not with the border patrol. steve: sure. >> have you an individual that had no back ground in the

border patrol taking over an agency it's absolutely demoralizing to the agents out in the field as to an individual trying to manage something he has no knowledge of. steve: sure. david, have you got to admit though as we take a look at the wall, one of the proposals that -- one of the walls that had been built and donald trump wants to announce he wants to build it, this guy, it's an open question whether or not he would have been 100 percent on board with what the president would be doing. but politically, what was he, as the head of the border patrol telling his rank and file to do regarding, for instance, illegals in this country wanted by ice? >> basically it was catch and release. now that this is changing, along with gill, actually his boss, he was the commissioner of the customs and border patrol, was also resigned. he was absolutely against the border fence. and here is an individual that was running the agency that's supposed to protect the security of the united states. and the thing that most people

don't know, he was the chief of police of a sanctuary city before he came over to the department of home land security. steve: interesting stuff. so had he stayed in place but he wouldn't have, he probably wouldn't be crazy about the wall, right? >> absolutely not. i'm sure he would have fought it tooth and nail because he actually came out and made a statement he was against the wall. he said it was a waste of time and money. steve: well, the wall is coming. donald trump has made it very clear. congress is going to build it and we have heard that mexico is going to pay for it. you're okay with that right? >> well, absolutely. and they do have a deputy chief that's just underneath mr. morgan that has all this experience and why carla was not put in the position of chief of the border patrol is beyond me. she had that experience. steve: political stuff we don't know about. david, thank you for joining us from seattle today, sir. >> you're quite welcome. steve: latest move to protect

ask your hep c specialist if harvoni is right for you. ♪ ♪ ainsley: president trump cracked down on sanctuary cities seems to be working already. steve: in a move his office called a no-brainer, the mayor of miami-dade florida ordered jails in his jurisdiction to comply with federal immigration detention requests. this after president trump said he would cut off millions in federal funding to sanctuary cities. brian: joining us now the mayor of miami-dade, is he up early for us in florida. carlos gimenez. mr. mayor, thanks for joining us. we appreciate it. >> it's my pleasure. so president trump makes that announcement about sanctuary cities and he spars with the mayor of new york city and the mayor of chicago. how did you take his push to

crack down on sanctuary cities? >> we have been under this watch since the obama administration. about six months ago they published a report stating that there was a resolution that we had passed down here in miami-dade that asked for reimbursement for the federal government whenever they had a detention request and they didn't document that they were going to reimburse us then we would hold our prisoners as long as we would normally hold them and then release them. that was a policy -- we were always honoring detention requests from the federal government until 2014. it was all due to the fact that they had racked half a million dollars in unpaid goils miami-dade county. so, for me, this thing started actually with the obama administration and they also said that they may withhold federal funds. we were trying to work this thing out with them. but when the president issued his executive order, he just put an exclamation point for me on that issue. it really isn't -- it really

was a no-brainer. it's a $52,000 a year issue for miami-dade. we now will go back to our 2014 policy that we'll honor the detention requests regardless of the fact if their government says they will pay for it. steve: our tweeter in chief, president trump, after you made that announcement tweeted this out. miami-dade mayor drops sanctuary policy. right decision. strong. mayor, what's your message to as brian mentioned the mayor of new york who said, you know, we are not going to budge. the mayor of l.a., or the mayor of any of the other sanctuary cities across the country? what's your message regarding they should do what the federal government says if you want their money? >> well, look, my message is this. the message of miami-dade county has been we are not a sanctuary city. we never have been a sanctuary city. we provide the federal government with information whenever we arrest somebody here who is an illegal immigrant. we don't arrest people for being illegal immigrants. we arrest people for doing some kind of either

misdemeanor or a crime and they go through our system. once they are in our system, anybody who is in our system, we provide that information to the federal government. and when the federal government wants us to detain somebody, we will do so. the normal course of business, our officers, nothing has changed today from what it was yesterday. our officers are here to enforce the laws of the united states. steve: sure. >> and the state and us. but we are not immigration officers. we don't intend to be immigration officers. okay? but in terms -- yeah. steve: pardon the incident interruption. it was probably great getting the props in the form of tweets from the president. >> it was fine. but my message is for me and i know for our commissioners is that we took an oath when we took office that we would defend and protect the constitutional laws of the united states, the state of florida and miami-dade florida. that's what we do here in miami-dade. apes whans are the constituents doing?

are they in support of this? >> i think some constituents actually are overreacting to what we're doing. we're basically going back to 2014. we will honor the requests of the federal government for detain illegal immigrant in our custody regardless of what e fact that they will pay for it or not. i still believe it is the government's responsibility. that's a federal responsibility. and they should reimburse miami-dade for the cost that we endure when we detain their prisoners. outside of that that's really what's going on because i think they misinterpreted a lot of what we did down here in miami-dade. brian: we don't know. you could get reimbursed donald trump hasn't expanded on that policy. steve: mayor gimenez thanks for joining us brian brian he is a morning guy. look how wide awake he is. steve: everybody on tv right now is a morning person, i have to say. including heather nauert. heather: we are all morning

people now. ainsley: if you weren't when you stuarted the job you are now. heather: good morning, everybody. hope you are off to a great friday. the secret service agent who suggested on social media that she would not take a bullet for president trump could now be in some serious legal trouble today. kerry o'grady is her name. if you recall the story she wrote that facebook post quote i would take jail time over a bullet or endorsement for what i believe to be a disaster to this country. the secret service now launching an investigation claiming that she may have violated the hatch act. now that bans some federal employ grease participating in political activities. o'grady could also be forced to resign. we will follow that story. president trump's claims about voter fraud getting some support this morning. >> what's going on with voter fraud is horrible. you have people that are registered who are dead, who are illegal, who are in two states. ainsley: scientist says hillary clinton got more than $800,000 from noncitizens.

so there was a video released on tmz that showed a german shepherd on set of the movie. it appeared that he was being forced into a churning amount of water. and then by the end of the video you see the dog actually go under water and this created an entire controversy, peta is planning to picket the movie this weekend. so it has become a huge thing. and for me it was very, very hard to watch that and my wife and i have a rescue dog. dogs are everything to us. it was one of those films that i think a lot of people if you do see it you will want to go home and hold your dog. it is a very, very hard thing to watch. especially when you watch the film and see that scene. hard not to think about the video. steve: at the end of the video they always say no animals or small children were harmed in the production of this. >> right. steve: don't they have somebody who knows how to treat dogs and animals on the set with them when they are doing that stuff. >> they definitely do. i know there were people on set for that. this story, i believe the video was shot 15 months ago

and it was just released last week. again, it's horrible. you can't really defend it. it's right there on video. brian: the dog is okay. looks to be now. we don't know how it's doing. steve: rough ride. brian: 3.5 out of five stars though. do you like the movie. >> the concept is great. the canine in the film. the spirit lives on through multiple lives in different dogs' body. the only downside with that you have to deal with the dog dying a couple times in the film. for me, if you want to see a grown man cry, put me in a movie theater, put marley and i on. i will cry for two hours. it's horrible. for me the movie does have a good connection between dogs and humans. dennis quaid is great. film-making standard acting writing and directing 3.5 out of 5. i do want to say i don't know how many people are going to be time separate that video from this movie. it's a choice have you to makes a a viewer. if you can handle that for me i thought the movie was good. not great. josh gadd who voiced olaf in frozen voices the dog in the

it's really the incomplete coverage that i am watching very closely. well, what's missing from the story? what was omitted? what's left on the cutting room floor that actually would inform the public factually what's happening here. what an amazing week. steve: no kidding. brian: greatest critic would have to say my goodness so much major stories to go over. >> is he just getting started. brian: one of taking place tomorrow. i understand president trump will be calling vladimir putin at some point saturday and suggested that the sanctions from the previous administration are going to be on the table right away. what could you tell us about the agenda? >> all of that is under consideration. and certainly in addition to improving relations with different foreign leaders and their nations around the globe. if vladimir putin wants to join with the u.s. to have a serious conversation about how to defeat radical islamic terrorism, that's what we call them around this white house. we don't call them our quote determined enemies like hillary clinton did in her convention speech in july in philadelphia.

officials at the state department they are out. as is customary. everybody always -- if you are political you submit your resignation and the president figures out who he is going to take and he took theirs. plus the border patrol guy. is that what we are seeing right here? did he fire them to drain the swamp? what's going on? >> every administration, every new president, steve, has to put people in the place that are going to execute on their vision who are loyal and who understand. in the case of president trump how quickly he is going to move on many of these actions. he needs his own team around him. we are hopeful that secretary of state nominee rex tillerson will be confirmed quickly and assembling his team over there at state. look, john kerry, the outgoing secretary of state, what was one of the last things he did in the waning weeks of his tenure? he delivered 72-minute speech that many sees a an anti-israel screed. it was have disappointing to president trump and i have disappointing to many

sweeney joins us right now. welcome. >> thanks very much for having me. ainsley: good to have you here. steve: what is going on with hollywood? they don't like this guy. >> i think a big part with hollywood all the customers for movies and music are under 30. if you're under 30 you're probably liberal. probably rebellious. steve: you're right. >> doesn't take a genius, i tell my audience what they want to hear. brian: here is the thing astounding to me, to be an actor, ultimate capitalist profession. you have to work hard, hope for that one break and be ready when the time comes and then when you finally break through you know how hard you worked to get there. yet they seem to have forgotten that is what it takes to be successful in life. >> you know, it is an interesting conundrum. one of those things like flock of seagulls. go in makeup trailer everybody talking about certain issue and agree with about it. do you want to start your day off with i might not agree with that. you want to go along. hollywood is less liberal than the loudest people.

ainsley: you have this great new movie came out a few days ago, seven days ago on the 20th, the resurrection of gavin stone. amazing movie. tell us about the movie and what critics are saying. >> story of gaff vin stone, played by bret dalton from agents of shield on. he screw up actor given choice to pick up garage on highway or do community service at church. he takes up the community service role with the church and it is easier and he is a scammer. he says i will take on the role of jesus and resuscitate my career. i play the pastor of the church. i see we may give him redemption, speaking words of jesus that mei xiang him. >> steve: critics love it. how did you feel being a pastor stepping into those shoes? >> real well-written script and
