cheerleaders and texas cheerleaders and cobras. fourth grade squad has won four super bowls already. we will find outs if they can play on our turf. ainsley: we had to make it fair the falcons are here for the first two hours. the patriots cheerleaders are coming up the second two hours of the show. it is saturday and we have a four hour show for you. the texas cheerleaders are back today: they were here yesterday for the whole show. steve: welcome to our perch here at super bowl 51 in houston, texas, where tomorrow is going to be the big game. just about a couple of miles from where we are sitting. we are outside the nfl experience which is a crazy place. brian: i actually think the big experience is a fox experience when you see all the stages here. when you see the turf we have. this is a fox city because it's a fox super bowl. ainsley: can you believe we are at the super bowl? we have gotten through the election and gotten through christmas. brian: happened before a year got here you went to new

orleans. steve: i went to new orleans for a super bowl and i was there for two weeks. i had enough super bowl for my whole lifetime. i should point out we have as many clothes on as we brought with us. we thought it was going to be a little warmer. >> feels like temperature in houston at 5:00 central time it feels like 39 degrees. ainsley: you put gloves on. brian: those are wide receiver gloves. steve: digital gloves where can you use your smart phone. brian: perfect christmas stocking stuff. steve: thanks for joining us on this very busy saturday. we start with a fox news alert. because it was yesterday u.s. district judge james row bart, a george w. bush appointee essentially stopped president trump's temporary travel order restricting travel from seven countries for four months. said can't do it and stopped it effectively. ainsley: u.s. customs and border protection got ahold on their website they were

talking to all the airlines saying nationals from the seven affected country are allowed on u.s. flights now and refugees with valid u.s.s. green cards can board the planes. they have to go through the proper process. brian: green cards they reinstated them after the 48 hours. that wasn't a problem u 48 people have been put on a delay. this is a pause until we get extreme vetting. this is a bit of the jolt to the white house. they came out with this statement. at the earliest possible time the department of justice intoindz file emergency stay. the president's order is intended to protect the home land and he has the constitutional authority and responsibility to protect the american people. i think if communications can staff up and get ready. they have been doing this a week and a half what this is all about. this isn't anti-muslim. this is called pro-security. if you see the guy that showed up in paris at the louvre with the machete. that's what we are trying to avoid. ainsley: that's what donald trump was tweeting about yesterday.

he also gave his weekly address. in the address he did talk about this immigration order. take a listen. >> i will never forget that my responsibility is to keep you, the american beam safe and free. that's why last week i signed an executive order to help keep terrorists out of our country. the executive order establishes a process to develop new vetting and mechanisms to ensure those coming in to america love and support our people that they have good intentions. on every single front we are working to deliver for american workers and american families. you, the law abiding citizens of this country, are my total priority. your safety, your jobs, and your wages guide our decisions. steve: you know what? this is going to set up an epic battle with donald trump and his white house. it's going to be dragged through the courts for a while. but it ultimately comes down to this. do people who are not american

citizens have a constitutional right to be in this country. and the answer is absolutely not. i mean, it is clear. allen dershowitz who certainly is not a republican says the law is on trump's side because the constitution does not protect noncitizens. that's what this is about. the reason it was settled up in washington state is because washington state said we have standing in this because we have got a bunch of university students and standoff overseas who effectively can't come home. so the judge said you are right, you've got standing. now he issued this particular ruling and it's going to stand temporarily until they can sort it out. brian: in a way i think it's message sent. the administration said i'm going to do what i told you will we're going to do. let the legal mechanisms come off the way they want. give you exhibit a belgium, exhibit b france. exhibit c germany. they said open the doors we have a big heart. in turn, in many cases, they are wondering why they can't walk the streets and feel safe again. they opened up their hearts without proper vetting and

it's been a disaster if i can use the president's word. that's all he is trying do do. he is not anti-muslim. he is not brought this or that. he is just saying the problem is radical extremists. their goal is to infiltrate the refugee program. i would like to stop and evaluate an extreme vetting system in order to keep us safe. if you don't want to do it and protest about it and use the courts overturn it i can't do anything else. if you don't want to lock your door, i can't make you secure. ainsley: these judges need to listen to the american people. he won. he won the election. people went to the polls for this very issue to keep this country safe. people are tired of people from other countries having more rights than the people who pay taxes and live here. steve: it's also just one other note. it's interesting. jeff bezos the guy who runs amazon.com is a big supporter of this legal action in washington. he and mr. trump have had some problems in the past. his newspaper "the washington post beats up donald trump left and right.

that mexico will pay for the u.s./mexican border wall. but hasn't donald trump already proven he is a man of his word? let's talk to this guy. ainsley: let's ask texas agriculture commissioner sid miller. >> good to be with you again. ainsley: john mccain says that's not viable you can't build the wall. what do you think? >> first of all i have the utmost respect to senator mccain for military service to our country and tenure in the senate and very wise man. i support him in his nomination for the president. you know, six years ago when he ran for re-election. can i remember the commercial when he was down on the arizona mexican border saying we need this fence. but everybody -- ever since donald trump you has gotten into the race, they say he can't be successful. he can't do this. he has acted on every campaign promise so far. this is a deal he will fulfill. mexico is note going to write us an 18 billion-dollar check.

mccain is right on this. they will reimburse. we are going to build the wall. gets reimbursed from mexico. steve: how? because people are going we will have to have the outlay right now. which is fine. deficit spending. but how will we wind up getting the money back. >> that's what trump said we will build the wall and mexico is l. reimburse us is basically what he said. there is any number of ways. withhold money that we send to mexico. brian: from the home land security budget. we write them checks. we could write a splawrl check. >> we can reduce that we can do surcharge on you money going to mexico was that earned up here. we can do a value added tax on imports at the border. so, they really won't have a choice. i mean in the matter. we will collect enough funds to pay for the border wall. brian: sid, that was a network trying to get a remark to try to make donald trump look bad from somebody who has been a critic of donald trump. and i they thought john mccain is a great friend of the show and everything. he knows we are talking about a layer of defense.

general kelly talked to catherine herridge and talked about the increase of border security and technology. that is not -- that is not a real accurate statement that he made. >> i think, you know, we are going to get reimbursed. his statement will be accurate if he said mexico is not going to write a check. i don't think that is going to happen. but we will get reimbursed it will be a very secure wall. i hope they build one much like they have in israel. that's state of the art. we can learn a lot from that wall. steve: sid, what do you make of that judge saying okay that temporary travel restriction that president trump has come up with can't do it right now. so it's stuck in the courts. >> well, of course that will be appealed and oversturensd. there is much history over that you know, most every president all the way back through the last five or six have instituted that. it's not an uncommon practice. you know, it's a proven practice that the president has that authority. so i think it's temporary at best.

ainsley: sid, why did you vote for donald trump? >> donald trump is, you know, i'm ready for change, you know. like everybody else, i didn't start out supporting donald trump. brian: your own governor was running. >> i supported my governor. didn't work out well for him. is he doing good now. steve: he has a job now. >> he has a job now. the trump campaign actually reached out to me, hey, donald trump doesn't know a lot about farming. weave need some help there. would you help us assemble an ag culture advisory team. i have been advising on agriculture issues and border security and things like that for quite some time. brian: it's not great snoil a tower. ainsley: he has a big ranch cattle and horses. >> he does have trump steaks. steve: thanks for the hospitality. ainsley: you know pete hegseth is army veteran. he joins the air force for one day to go for a ride in an f-16.

for the production crew who spent billions of dollars just to have the right to broadcast there is pressure. pressure to make it bigger and better. > what kind of toy does fox have to play with on sunday. >> you don't want to put technology in for technology sake. you want to put it in so it tells a story. so, yeah, we have 72 cameras and maybe they will all be used. maybe not. but you're going to get a lot of really, really cool replays. i know that. brian: there is no script for what you do. is that okay? >> well, yeah. basically you can't form out a live events. a lot of what we are doing is reacting. we are anticipating. things happen quickly and basically there to document what's going on on the field. brian: so much goes in to building the set. it's got to collapse during of the game. how does that happen? >> the roof lowers down which is a bit of a dance. we have all these cameras and desks and so on.

enlisted. he was on his second deployment to iraq. and on march 10th, 2008, his platoon was on a combat patrol on the outskirts of baghdad when they were attacked by a suicide bomber. and my son and four other outstanding young men lost their lives in that incident. steve: and that was in 2008? >> 2008. steve: i know it is particularly hard for you to talk about him today because today is his birthday. >> that's correct. he would have been 35 years old today. and so scott, happy birthday. and you are still making a difference, son. steve: indeed. i understanding a friend of yours -- you are a golfer -- >> yes. >> a friend of yours telling you about dan rooney and folds of honor. >> that's correct. when we were looking for a charity, the folds of honor was the perfect fit for me because three of these young men that were killed with my

son had little children. there were three girls. one of them was four years old, the other two are infants. one of the soldiers had never met his daughter because she was born while he was on that deployment. so seeing these families and their loss, you know, it was we knew these families and i knew that if i could ever do something for these families, i would jump at the chance. so, when we found the folds, we found out what they were doing with these families, the scholarships, it was the perfect fit. steve: you did a lot. you raised $3 million. >> a little over 3 million. steve: unbelievable. >> it's been a great thrill for me to do that. and we want to keep the mission going and try to complete it. ainsley: dan, tell the folks at home how you started folds which by the way have you a platinum rating. so, the majority of all the money donated goes to these scholarships to help the kids of fallen soldiers. >> we are very proud.

told the story. it was the other person. the other side. there's a lot of stories like that. steve: and that stick clip, brian, has been shared hundreds of thousands of times on social media because you're saying, look, you hear all of these stories about donald trump that he's a terrible person. and yet, he's got this very liberal democrat friend who has been -- is now a lifelong friend because of loyalty. and i will tell you, i know of a number of very powerful democrats who love donald trump who have been friends with donald trump for a very long time. but you know what? they can't tell anybody that. they can't say he's a good guy who helped me in my life because it would just be bad for business or bad for them personally. ainsley: how many stories have we heard like that? he hears someone else's story, he picks up the phone and calls them. like the lady we had on our set from ll bean. when i was visited him for a interview down in the lobby, there was a little boy for his family, asked to autograph a

crime. we charged them with 447,000 crimes. that's a half million crimes in a four-year period. there's no sense in apprehending them and deporting them back to just walk across the river that they do now. brian: you know where too. where do you need it? >> first of all, you need the wall in the major city crossings. we have about 19 crossings with mexico in our 1,200 miles. so the major crossings it's easy once they cross to blend into the city. so you want to push them tout outta from what i call no-man's-land. where you can see the trails coming from mexico into texas. you can spot them, apprehend them. we have 4,000 cameras on the border now. if you cross, i can spot you about every half mile where you are or quarter mile. so then it's just a matter of having the forces. that's why we need more border patrol, to catch you where we see you. steve: well, here's the thing. we have a lot of forces, we have the manpower. but in the past, the administration said, look, you know, not so much.

if you get somebody, just let him go. >> it is so good to have a friend in our white house who is our ally, who's going to work with us. i complained on our border security money to 800 million. which we did last session. we shouldn't be spending that money. in fact, i want a reimbursement check from our delegation. look, we've been helping from the gap, but beware of strong border patrol. we don't have enough manpower. the border patrol is the defensive line. we fill in the gaps when they get through border patrol. so the combination of wall, technology, natural barriers workers' compensation we can do it. there's no question we can do it. he's going to do two things. he's going to secure the border and find a way to pass legal immigration reform. but it's the criminals we have to stop. brian: he's doing incrementally. because we couldn't get out of each other's way because we had to agree to secure the border. so he's only doing it on his

own, then he's going to allow us to have legitimate conversations where we can come together on easier parts of immigration. >> when i was running for office my mom called me one day and said i got a leak in the kitchen. i just through the new linoleum. and i said don't worry about that. let's stop the leak. so we have to figure out what to fix afterwards. look, it's up to us to decide who comes to america. not to the drug cartels. and make no mistake the drug cartels control the entire border. they control it all. ainsley: senator mccain said mexico's not going to pay for it. do you think they will find a way? >> absolutely. mccain apparently has not read the art of the deal. look, we have a 60 billion deficit in trade with mexico. so we'll back door it. look, we both need each other and texas is a big trading part with mexico. steve: with all respect, john mccain is part of the establishment and the establishment doesn't think it's viable. >> the establishment is out of touch and out of date and, look, a great respect for john mccain war hero.

steve: all right. it's time for a walk on the wild side, everybody. she's an educator at the houston zoo, and she joins us now this morning with some animal friends and sports predictions. >> welcome. brian: this is a beautiful animal but a smelly animal. what am i smelling? >> he decided to take a potty break on our way here this morning. >> oh, is that what it is? steve: that's a porcupine; right? >> it is. this is ernie, a north american porcupine, and you guys are totally safe right here. it's a misconception that they can shoot their quills. but you're fine. they can't.

>> his father is in exhibit but he is by himself. they're naturally solitary animals. steve: is there some sports prediction thing going on with this animal? >> no. here. at the end. steve: all right. ainsley: what is he eating? >> so he is eating on a little biscuit right there. >> we have some barbecue here too. >> i don't think he would like that. steve: he would eat some zest soap. >> the next guy we're going to be bringing out for you guys, his name is catari. ainsley: do they get bigger? >> no. that's full size. steve: how does he survive? ainsley: oh, my gosh i want him. >> yeah. he's so cute. these guys are wild, native here in houston. they can be discovered all along the eastern coast of the united states, and they are full grown. ainsley: ernie won't eat him; right? brian: how much do i have to pay to get the porcupine away?

it smells terrible. steve: breathe through your mouth, brian. ainsley: why is the owl awake? don't they sleep during the day? >> it's a very good question. naturally nocturnal, but they're used to being handled. steve: look at this bird. this is denver,. >> this is denver, and he's a blue and gold mccaw. steve: talking bird? >> they can mc mimic. they can't talk. ainsley: cutting him to mimic? >> no. he's not the best at mimicking. steve: let's bring out the armadillo, texas is famous for armadillo. brian: there are two things that are hard to kill the armadillo and the porcupine because they have protection; right? ainsley: yeah, we'll have the chinchilla. >> we'll have our prediction we're going to be right here. steve: okay. >> so ms. millie is going

to -- brian: so you have the falcon and the patriot. >> so this is ms. millie. she's a three bandit armadillo. we're going to put her right in the middle. steve: we virtually ten seconds. >> which one is it, millie? ainsley: make a decision. >> you might stand right there. >> it's going to be a toss up. steve: don't stay in the middle. >> it's a tie. brian: it looks like overtime. brian: patriots or falcons? >> oh. oh. brian: more fox and friends in a moment. we'll find out if anybody is going to pick up the armadill armadillo.
